a nasty BUG just tried to TAKE MY LIFE (I found a tick on my leg)

#i mean it tried to give me lyme disease #like i'm not sick enough already as it is #you know what is the worst #this tick was truly a large tick #i could feel it crawling around on my body #and i was lying down and reading in complete darkness #and 2 times i've grabbed it and thought #oh thats a spider #and just threw it on the floor #it was only after it climbed on me the third time #that i turned the light on #and realized it was a tick #and that it was looking for a good place to start feeding on me #so i flushed it down the toilet #if a bug tries to attack me its fair game #and i am also scared of lyme disease #homesteaders on youtube often get it #and its very nasty #i need to take a shower

listen there really was just something about how in the book, snow’s 3-page descent from hesitant lover boy to deluded mfer happens entirely in his mind. lucy gray gives him no indication whatsoever that she suspects him, that she’s going to leave or betray him. he’s just sitting quietly in the cabin waiting for her to return when that seed of calculated suspicion, which he has needed to survive the capitol, takes a hold of him and chokes the life out of any goodness left inside him. it really drives home your terror as a reader that “oh my god did he kill her? did she escape? what happened to her? why would he even think that?” in a way that when the movie had to adjust for visualization it lost some of that holy shit this guy has lost it emphasis.

#seeing some discourse and im not saying lucy grey didnt know #im saying she never dropped the kind of hints that she knew like she did in the movie #or if she did snow isnt worried about them until he very suddenly is consumed by them #snow is not concerned about whether or not she believed him. of course she did! hes snow!#but then shes gone…. for a while……#and its the sudden immediate drastic unravelling that comes across so clearly in the book #that i knew wouldn’t translate to screen yet still cant help but miss #the hunger games #coriolanus snow #tbosas #lucy gray baird #not a crime or anything just a note that i cannot stop thinking about #the ballad of songbirds and snakes #this is all from memory of reading it quite a while ago. so maybe 3 pages is an exaggeration #but i remember it happening VERY quickly and without much external cause #like we as the reader have no indication as to whether shes nearby or not.#snow has no idea either. he just SUSPECTS. and his suspicion breeds the hatred that has been bubbling inside him all this time #he hates how she undoes him. he hates that he WOULD run away with her if shed let him keep his secrets #and he HATES more than anything that she makes him WANT to tell his secrets #he wants to be vulnerable and reveal the ugly nasty parts about himself and still be loved #but he does not let himself and it is everyone’s downfall #he chooses cruelty bc it is easy and familiar and makes him feel more powerful than the vulnerable give and take that real love requires

#genuinely vote peri #i've not seen all of her stories but my god from what i've seen the 80s writers hated her #there are some stories where she'd probably be better off dead #she seems to be in a constant living torturous hell with 6 being constantly nasty too her #this poor woman #okay specific example #her first trip after her introduction (recounted from memory so some details my be wrong)#she and the doctor unknowingly touch a poisonous plant which will kill them slowly and painfully (but fast enough she almost dies by the en #so great they need to find a cure #which is horrendously difficult to find in the best of circumstances #but these aren't the best of circumstances #they get taken hostage pretty quickly and very nearly get executed by firing squad #they get rescued by one of the most unnerving villains i think in the entire show #he creeps on peri constantly #like he gets as close to assaulting her as its possible to depict on tea time telly #and peri can't do anything about it #her life is entirely in this guys hands #like most of the time i find caves of androzani the be so hyperviolent as to be funny #but jesus christ the shit they put peri through in it #anyway by the end she's so ill the doctor has to drag her near lifeless body back to the tardis #gives her the cure and then promptly regenerates #and now peri's nice friendly doctor is uhh tv 6 #bad times: quarters

warnings: yandere themes, wrote this at 1am spontaneously so expect some mistakes, might be a lil ooc

a/n: thank you for the request !!! i tried my best to give these two equal attention, because i wanted to emphasize how you're a closer friend to Crowe than Sol, but i struggled to execute it ;; hope you enjoy this nonetheless ! i love this request cause if anyone noticed i did put hints of a yandere crowe vs sol in my other fics

You've always been a dear to Sol, even if you didn't know it yet

Watching you through the hallways as you rummaged through your locker, book in hand while trying your best to move through the crowded hallway. Stalking you in the streets at night to ensure you'd get home safely. He's always there for you even before you officially met him in the library.

He's always there. And so is that annoying pest named 'Crowe.'

Jericho Crowe Ichabod, that sickening man they call a 'prince.' Gentle and kind as they say. Charming as he'll ever be with that smile of his. Sol may sound petty, but he knows that bastard is hiding something beneath that demeanor of his. He's nowhere near a saint, though. But he's definitely not stupid either. He's dealt with enough people to know something's off.

Of course, he doesn't deny the fact Crowe probably does have a better heart than him, given the reputation the goody two shoes has. Especially when he's helped you out tremendously through your first year, helping you socialize and guiding you comfortably to settle in your new environment.

Right, and that pisses him off.

It should've been him. Should've been him by your side. He should've been the person you always stuck to. Not Crowe, not anyone else.

Although there's really no need for complaints now that you and Sol have gotten acquainted with each other. You talk regularly and even skipped school once with him! Risking your studies to hang out with him, isn't that evidence that you like him more than that guy?

So why do you still hang out with that rotten prince?

Now, it's not that Crowe doesn't want you to socialize with others. It's the exact opposite. Why else would he introduce you to his friend group?

He's happy that you're making friends outside of his group. Happy that you're able to handle things on your own even without him.

Although he does miss the way you used to rely on him a lot like a lost cub. He likes the idea of you being dependent on him.

That's why it's a little confusing to him when his heart aches a tiny bit when he sees you standing a little too close to that vermillion-eyed boy. Your cheeks warming up as you stuttered bashfully when Sol brushed a strand of hair behind your ear in a suspiciously flirtatious way.

All of a sudden, he wants to pull you away and hold you close to him. He doesn't know why. It felt like a primal instinct to continue to protect you and keep you by his side. He supposed it's normal. Sol does hold quite the negative reputation, after all. Crowe simply wants to express his concern for you!

So why did he start to become more competitive, stealing your attention every chance he gets so you won't be able to glance at Sol even for a second?

As much as it disappoints him, he knows he won't be able to keep you away from Sol entirely. It's already hard enough trying to do all of these as discreet as he can.

But who's to say he won't try to win your heart over while the poor boy watches?

He's aware of the sharp gaze staring daggers into his back. It sent shivers down his spine, yet he feels a weird sense of satisfaction as he felt his hand brush against your own, knowing how much it pissed the other party off. Knowing he's a step ahead of making you his.

He listens to you talk, yet you remain blissfully unaware of the eerily calm smile he held while looking behind his shoulder.

You feel a little weird.

There's something terribly wrong with Sol today. At art class, you asked him to hold your pencil while you grabbed your supplies, only to hear a snap! as you looked up from your bag.

"Sol..?" The other half of your poor graphite pencil fell to ground, earning a few quick looks from other students.

As if snapping out from a trance, Sol looked at the broken pen in his hands, then at your face, and at the pen again. "Oh. Oh, shit, sorry." He cursed. He immediately grabbed his own and gave you a spare one with a guilty, embarrassed look. "Take it. I wasn't focusing at all, sorry."

You take the pencil with a small smile. "It's fine. Are you okay, though? You look like you have a lot on your mind."

He shook his head. "Don't worry about me, pumpkin. I'll let you draw me this time. Here, I'll stay still." He tries to force a calm demeanor. His normally stoic face makes it easier, but your keen eyes notice.

You didn't want to push his boundaries, however, and continued with your portrait of him for your art project.

After all, how could he possibly tell you that he's planning every possible way to get rid of your dearest friend, Crowe?
