Hello everyone.

I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the outpouring of understanding, love, and support that you all showed me in the immediate aftermath of the loss of my father-in-law earlier this year. It regrettably took me a lot longer than I would have liked, but I am finally back in a healthier mental and emotional mindspace and ready to get the 2025 Promptis Gift Exchange back on track! So without further ado, here is the updated schedule and the plan for moving forward.

The sign-up period will temporarily re-open from today, March 28, 2025 through Saturday, April 5, 2025. Anyone who missed the previous sign-up period in January for any reason or who simply wants to join in the fun now is welcome to join us if you wish. 

If you have already signed up in January and you still wish to remain as a participant in the exchange, you do not need to take any further action and your existing sign-up will remain in place unless you choose to withdraw from the event. 

If you previously signed up back in January and you wish to withdraw from the event for any reason, you may do so at any time between now and Monday, July 14, 2025 without penalty.

Anyone who wishes to edit their sign-up can do so at any point until sign-ups close.

Assignments will be distributed to all 2025 Promptis Gift Exchange Participants no later than Saturday, April 19, 2025.

The Mandatory Participant Check-in will take place from Saturday, July 12, 2025- Monday July 14, 2025. This will be the final opportunity for participants to drop out of the exchange. Drop-outs that occur after this cutoff point may be subject to restriction from participation in future events.

Posting for the 2025 Promptis Gift Exchange will begin on Sunday, August 3, 2025 and one gift will be posted every Sunday-Friday with a Weekly Wrap up on Saturday until all gifts have been posted. The full posting schedule, as usual, will be announced after the check-in concludes and the individual posting dates have been assigned, but if participant levels remain within the usual numbers, I anticipate posting would conclude at some point in September.

For multiple reasons, I have decided that it's time to begin winding down posting and support for the Twitter account of the Promptis Gift Exchange. Existing posts on the Twitter account will remain active and I will continue to post important announcements pertaining to the schedule changes regarding 2025 Promptis Gift Exchange, but I will no longer be cross-posting anyone’s work there going forward. Please follow us on Bluesky, Tumblr, or join us in the Promptis Discord server to be able to view cross-posts of the gifts during the 2025 event. I will discontinue posting anything pertaining to the Promptis Gift Exchange on Twitter with the conclusion of the 2025 Promptis Gift Exchange.

The 2026 Promptis Gift Exchange will resume running on its previous annual schedule, with sign-ups being held in January 2026, and posting beginning in April 2026.

Thank you all again for your incredible support and patience. You guys are all the best and although we’re getting underway a lot later than originally planned, I look forward to celebrating Promptis once again with all of you.

B. I actually really like this. And I think just the minute change of- yes still wanting to prove his strength to some degree but also being bitter and angry and *done* with the fight because Iris died and Ravus The Angry Twink shoved him Radically Changes Everything. Okay— namely it changes how Gladio’s interacting with Gilgamesh and his trials, how I think Gladio would behave with Noctis, and also carries some dramatic irony for Altissia

Coming at Gilgamesh from a place of rage and a place of Giving Up and a place of I Can’t Do This Anymore makes Gilgamesh’s whole ‘bro you need muscle and mettle’ *mean* something. Because it gives Gladio the chance to develop something he didn’t have before if he’s explicitly not able to stick it out with Noctis through hell or high water

Iris’s death I think would force Gladio to be the first one in the party to go through ‘the person I loved most in this world died and I wasn’t there to protect them when that’s my *purpose*. Which means on the train, he wouldn’t be coming at that fight from seemingly a place of not getting what Ignis and Noct (especially Noct) went through in Altissia. He gets it. He gets why Ignis did everything in his power to protect Noctis. He gets why Noctis is crumbling with his grief. But they have to stand up and keep moving. This war is only winnable that way. They need to direct their anger and pain at the empire, rather than cut themselves down with it. However you’d want to actually frame this my point here is that these are lessons he can learn from Gilgamesh/lessons he can learn that Gilgamesh never did and it can make his DLC Matter

Do I still think we need a scene- maybe in Gralea- where Daemonic Ravus or Ardyn… prolly Ravus- go in for a quick stab at Noctis that mirror’s Ravus’s attack waaayyyy back at the base and Gladio gets to actually hold his own for a sec and give his friends time to join the fight proper and it feels like a triumph over his initial failing—- yeah. Yeah I really think he needs that scene. And that would be the cherry on this cake. Is getting to protect someone because he stuck it out. And he tried again. And he stood tall. And that pays off.

Seeing a lot of Gladio hate cause of the train scene and guys I’m gonna be honest I love him cause of the train scene

It’s a difficult time for all four of em it’s supposed to be, with the loss of Lunafreya, Ignis losing his eyesight and Noctis grieving there was two choice of characters to push the plot along Prompto or Gladio and with what happens shortly after this it was best it Gladio.

Gladio is so different from Iggy when you think about it them showcasing Gladio being rather pushy in that way to get Noctis moving was a showcase of that.

It also shows the impact of the injuries on everyone they don’t know if Ignis would be able to keep up they’re hurt they’re scared

I personally think they needed a confrontation/argument scene for these guys and this was the perfect way to go about it but that’s just me.

One of the greatest things about Prompto Argentum is the implication that he always can and unerringly will find the most violent, over-the-top destructive machines in a given area if you just give him 2 seconds. He and Gladio split off from the main party to "cause a distraction" and then there's a tremendous explosion from offscreen. In altissia he somehow goes and commandeers a small military craft in under five minutes. He gets thrown from a train, almost dies of hypothermia, and one of the first things he does upon waking up is locate the nearest bazooka. What a guy.

RREAAAGHHHH SO EXCITED TO BE DONE WITH THIS!!!!! it took me forevarrrr but i soldiered through as an act of love. now excuse me. yap time

OKAY SO the concept behind this was originally specific fashion subcultures for everyone!l ike noct emo ignis dark academia etc. but then decided i didnt want to pigeonhole it all and just freestyled outfits i thought would look nice on everyone

noct - i do think noct would still be emo-ish but also opt for comfy baggy stuff a lot. something you could just fall asleep in on the spot. note the details of bass pro shop shirt (of course) XV necklace, little moon + stars accents, carbuncle + fish keychains. i also wanted his metal band logo shirt to spell LUCIS but i forgor some letters but its not very readable anyways

ignis - ignit ooohghh ignos ignaurs. sorry i made him serve so much cunt it will happen again. i drew him first cause that kind of inspired this whole thing i love him so bad if i didnt draw it id explode. not much detail to note except his collar pins are like his double blade thingies

luna - lunaaa the concept was “clean girl aesthetic” idk if that happened but im actually really happy with how it came out! might be my favorite of the bunch just because she looks so pretty and happy. your honor she should have been able to just be a normal girl and just. chill

prompto - prompotoooo i had trouble picking his vibe!!! my first thought was techwear?? because weeheeeehee he loves tech and well... you know... but then i realized i didnt really like the look of anything i saw + it was so bulky and dark and serious for him! ending up going with some more youthful and baggy. i was considering something more loud and colorful but ended up not going with it. i feel like in canon he'd be too nervous to have such a flashy fit and would want to just look "cool" to fit in with the boys lol. itty bitty details here - chocobo keychain, pompompurin and bi miku buttons, and his lanyard is kings knight themed! i also thought it was funny to write LUCIS on his shirt like you know those shirts that just say BROOKLYN or TOKYO or SAN FRANCISCO and thats it. thats what its like

gladio - okay i know this is going to sound like a lie but im not horny for gladio like at all, hes my least favorite, i think he's just alright. but also i KNOW in my heart of hearts that he would LOVE being a leather daddy and so i had to make it happen. main detail to note here is that his tank top has the motifs of a cup noodle! i didnt know what else to add cause you know.. hes the cup noodle guy.. but also i didnt want it to be so in your face about it with a big as logo so kept it subtle!

(side note the leather daddy gave me an idea for a post where its like noct and prom go to a gay bar all nervous but then they run into gladio and its like "p: GLADIO YOURE GAY?" "n: nevermind that PLEASE dont tell ignis we snuck out" and then ignis walks up and theyre all like WHAT THE FUCK!!!! caption would be "the gang finds out theyre all bisexual." probably wont draw it but i think its very funny lol)

iris - iris my sweetheart.... definitely leaned into the scene vibes here and also that one image of the blonde emo anime girl. details here - of course the moogle big ass backpack and keychain (can you tell i love keychains), but also her buttons are an iris (the flower) and also a crown with hearts (haha symbolism)

anyways oh god i didnt mean to write an essay down here. usually i keep this in the tags but this time i just had Too Much To Say. can you tell i put a lot of thought and love into this . anwyays. *walks off into the sunset and fuckig dies*

My favorite disaster game is FFXV which is probably all you need to ever know about me.

It actually approaches disasterpiece levels. What if we had a boyband road trip, but it’s actually a royal convoy, but it also makes zero sense as a royal convoy cuz the convoy is an idiot boyband. What if you spend the entire game rolling around a dying world with these idiots, and you get really attached to them in spite of yourself because you spend all your time fishing and camping like normal people. What if the game was just an ad for Coleman. What if you stay up all night fishing while the demons swarm you while your Coleman camping gear is safely enshrined in holy light. What if there’s a resort that’s also the only port in a bajillion miles, and that’s apparently normal and also it’s always busy but nobody uses it. What if the villain isn’t a villain at all but just the broken half of your savior narrative because the villains are the gods actually and you’re going to act out their fucked up sacrificial narrative no matter what. What if there’s a train to nowhere and everything is demons. What if the heroine is the most important character and we don’t even make her a character. What if we don’t even put the story in the base game at all.

Oh and the combat is a frustrating mix between hold-button simulator and a genuinely innovative and fun teleportation magic system. Good luck.
