As I was uploading all of my older art on BlueSky, I was reminded of some old, scrapped story ideas. I reminisced on this particular one, which was called Devil's Final Kingdom (a title mix of Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy, and Kingdom Hearts). It inspired me to make a little something out of it with me and my one cousin's characters, who are technically us with different names.

My cousin's character name's Rayne (left), and mine's Audra (right). If we ever decide to RP again some time, things definitely would need some changes made regarding our characters' backgrounds. Back then we made our characters the daughters of Dante and Vergil. Rayne was the daughter of Dante, and Audra was the adopted daughter of Vergil where he saved her from being attacked by some demonic beast that ended up infected her, then approached by the main villain one night where he ended up enhancing the beast within.

The Red Devil's Chronicles - Devil May Cry News Updates Dec. 2024 & Jan. 2025: Netflix, Sculpts, Crossovers, etc.

Hey, how's it going? Happy New Year! Hope your holidays and New Years went well. Here are the latest Devil May Cry news updates I've gathered:

1. The songs Bury The Light and Devil Trigger were temporarily pulled from Spotify and Youtube, and have been replaced with cheap, AI-generated images and cover songs of them. b) Capcom's reply about the matter. c) Luckily, this issue has been partially resolved.

2. Zbrush Central has made a DMC3 Dante sculpt. b) DevilnessToys made a Vergil sculpt.

3. Capcom’s New Years art doesn’t feature Devil May Cry this time. But they mention it in their status about continuing to support it.

4. Rumours of Devil May Cry appearing in Fortnite are circulating greatly.

5. A sneak peek at Dante and Vergil in a mobile game called Punishing Gray Raven.

6. Johnny Long is making a fan film.

7. One of the Capcom stores has a new Dante stand as part of their decor.

8. The Netflix series has an official release date and intro shared.

9. Another Devil May Cry-like indie game has been announced called Kijutsu Rider.

My Thoughts On These Updates:

It's really too bad what happened to Casey and other musicians of the Devil May Cry series. Glad the issue partially got resolved. There's still a ways to go, though. I've even been having Spotify issues myself where certain songs won't even show up for me anymore.

2. Those statues don't look too bad. It's cool how these smaller industries and artists have been coming up with more custom sculptures of fictional characters for either their own enjoyment, or through commissions, etc.

3. It's nice Capcom still acknowledges that Devil May Cry is one of their top games. But knowing people's mindsets nowadays where they would think of the worst scenarios, or criticize every tiny thing, or complain so much, it's hard to say if Capcom considers that kind of stuff people say as a way of supporting it at all. Let's just hope for the best and be grateful with whatever small things we're getting out of it lately (ie. the mobile game stuff, Netflix series, etc.).

4. I'm not a fan of Fortnite, but a part of me wouldn't be surprised if this eventually did become a thing. Especially with the amount of stuff they have on there already from clips and announcements I've been seeing all over. If it ever does happen though, I wouldn't mind seeing some clips and such.

5. It's interesting how many of these mobile games are doing Devil May Cry crossovers.

6. I remember getting excited about this one fan film in the past called The Tears of Sparda. Too bad it got cancelled. Sins Remembered was a horrible one. The Resident Evil crossover one was cool despite some flaws when it comes to character interaction and such. Curious of how Johnny's is gonna turn out.

7. So about Dante not appearing in the New Years image...At least we have this new image of him from them, heheheh.

8. My mind's drawing a blank on all the good things I really wanna say about this whole Netflix thing. But I do have some bad things to say in regards to the so-called "fans" of Devil May Cry who are "criticizing" it... There are a few things I can't stand in this world...Politics/political talk, disrespect, manipulation, narcicissm, entitlement, complaining, and judgmental mindsets. And those are mostly what I'm seeing pop up a lot in my Twitter/X feed (and a bit of Reddit and Facebook). Yeah, it ain't an official Devil May Cry thing, and it ain't Devil May Cry 6. But at least be grateful with what we've got, and learn to take chances, and look before you leap. It ain't the end of the world. And people should really learn to keep their political BS and rumours out of this whole thing. "We're just giving our criticism, chill. Nothing wrong with that". NO!!! Whatever you're saying and doing isn't criticism at all! STFU! (I'm really sorry, end rant.) Now the good things. Like I said, my mind's drawing a blank 'cause of how excited (and slow) I am. But I can say that out of all these Devil May Cry songs available on my bingo card, Limp Bizkit wasn't on there for song choices to use for the opening, lol. But it's fitting 'cause most people have these headcanons of Dante listening to something like that as his teen and young adult self. And it's supposed to take place in the 90s to early 2000s, and it pays a tribute to us millennials growing up with this kind of stuff (that includes Devil May Cry, heheheh). What's cool, too is that Adi's having people show their edits on what songs they think would've fit it. And I participate.

9. I know it's not really Devil May Cry for what I've shared there, but the gameplay and red colours of the main character reminded me of it. Plus I figured I'd try spreading this game around to promote the team behind it in a way. It's amazing what indie devs nowadays can do.

My mind's drawing a blank on what I wanna say about this 'cause of how excited I am. And it comes out earlier than expected! Before they did say April for it release time but didn't specify which day. I was expected between the 20th and 26th, but I'll take whatever date we've got now!

Update on this situation. Looks like it wasn't just Spotify that was affected, even Youtube channels were too...Casey's case on Youtube got resolved quicker than expected (Youtube claimed it would take about 30 days to resolve, but it ended up being about a day or two). But there are still problems happening on Spotify with this.

The Red Devil's Chronicles - Devil May Cry Oct. & Nov. 2024 News Updates: Bootlegs, Merch, etc.

Hey, how's it going? Here are the latest Devil May Cry news updates I've rounded up: 1. Despite some of the stuff hinted at by Johnny Bosch, Reuben Langdon didn't 100% retire from acting.

2. There's a knockoff game (still need to find out what game this is) that completely copied Vergil and his move sets.

3. First4Figures has a new revised DMC3 Dante statue.

4. Visual Novel Devil May Cry crossover game.

5. Hideaki Itsuno's new journey.

6. Capcom comes out with SDT tsum-tsums.

7. Devil May Cry Peak of Combat's servers shutting down.

8. Updates regarding the Netflix series. b) Mundus is planned to be in the Netflix series, and Tony Todd was going to be his voice.

My Thoughts On These Updates: 1. It's nice that Reuben's not quitting. Even he himself hinted at wanting to give up at one point due to not being contacted anymore, and how he feels he's getting too old to do that kind of stuff anymore.

2. How in the hell are these cheap, bootleg mobile games getting away with this kind of stuff?

3. I want that statue so bad, but I don't have the room. And it's quite pricey.

4. That's awesome that we get a visual novel with the main guys starred in another game.

5. That's awesome that Itsuno's new journey's going well. Looking forward to what he comes up with.

6. More cutesie beanies that I'd love to get, but don't have the room for. Plus I've heard that they can be difficult to ship to certain countries.

7. Honestly...It's about time that Peak of Combat gets shut down. It had its cool things happening, but their marketing strategies, discussions, and more were a complete mess.

8. Alright....Bear with me 'cause there's a lot~ I wanna say here about the Netflix series. First off, RIP to Tony Todd. That would've been a pretty epic casting. Wonder who's gonna voice as Mundus now?

Second....So there's been a lot of discourse and arguments with the fans about the series 'cause of Adi's reputation on how he handled certain video game-based projects before. What those people don't realize is that when it came to Castlevania, he was only responsible for season 1 and a part of season 2. He was never a part of season 3 and beyond, including the Tomb Raider series. Do people not know how to research and listen anymore? Whatever happened to look before you leap? Or never judge a book by its cover?

And on top of that, the amount of bullying, downgrading, judgment, sexism, etc. coming from the "true" fans of Devil May Cry about the Netflix series is completely absurd...Let's just say that I was one of the victims of whatever went down on Twitter/X when I tried to get those people to calm down, and even educate them on what's happening with it. Didn't help when I got petty at times due to my anxiety and stress building up from the amount of stupidity and hate coming from those idiots (sorry for being rude about what I'm calling them, but they're acting that way...I don't tolerate that kind of behaviour...Gotta deal with that crap at my job almost all the time, and it's tiring).

Now here are my thoughts about the Netflix series. I have high curiosities about it, and am looking forward to what Adi comes up with. But also being cautious 'cause you never know how it's gonna turn out. I'm definitely giving it a chance and will give my final judgment once it's all released.

Ever since its 1st announced, and as we can see from Adi Shankar's Instagram username, it's been stated and hinted that it's supposed to be a bootleg multiverse series, which means that it's going to be his own original take on what goes on with it (in other words, a fanfic). However, the most recent hints that Adi's been sharing on Twitter/X has mentioned that he's been working side-by-side with Capcom a bit, and is gonna make sure that he gets specific lore and characterizations from the games, 2007 anime, and novels as faithful as possible, but with some bits of his own twists thrown here and there.

Wanna know what's cool, too? He managed to get his hands on the unreleased DMC3 Lady manga, and has stated that he plans on adding his own take on Lady's origins based around the manga a bit. And about her outfits? He's stated that the characters are gonna change throughout the series (which explains why Mundus is gonna make an appearance).

Now about this whole plot thing regarding the Netflix series and the original. What people don't realize is that since DMC2, Devil May Cry's plotline has been a bit of a mess. There are still some unanswered questions, and some parts don't really tie with one another. There was also one point where Capcom wanted to reboot the series (big mistake). Then there was that whole chronological order of 3142 being changed to 3124, and changing the novels' canonizations when DMCV came to light.

And about this whole multiversal thing. There was a thing in the DMC2 novel where Dante and Beryl (a character that came before being replaced by Lady in DMC3) temporarily get plunged into an alternate universe where things got a bit mixed up (eg. Nelo Angelo/Vergil being the saviour, not Sparda, how Phantom, Blade, etc. have lesser humanoid forms, and more). So this wouldn't be the first time we see a whole multiversal thing happening with Devil May Cry.

And about Itsuno....There was that time he stated that he was gonna work with Adi on the series, along with Hiroyuki Koabayashi. But since Itsuno left Capcom, it makes me wonder if he's still working with Adi. There hasn't been mention of him remaining on supervising this Netflix series.

And finally. My thoughts about the character design choices for this series? I don't care what they look like as long as they don't become woke is all. It might not be a true Devil May Cry media, but it's still a Devil May Cry thing, which makes me appreciative and thankful. Some people can just be spoiled brats, and need to learn to keep quiet and not complain so much. "But complaining is criticism, too!" Yes...It CAN be....But what those people are sounding like are karens who think they can get what they want when something doesn't go their way. They're not even giving criticism at all, they're just being judgmental a-holes and spewing crud outta their mouths without researching and being patient...Glad Adi's handling their outcries well, even to the point of engaging with them. Looking forward to what other stuff gets shown about all this.

It's Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada. My one aunt had the idea of me, my bro, and my cousins doing some pumpkin carving after the dinner. This is mine:

And these are the rest. There was also a bit of a contest involved, and my one cousin's crow/raven won (my grandfather was the judge). Sadly there was only 1 candle available, so we couldn't light them all up at once.
