At this point, they do have two more children. Rumble and Savage. Similar to the Big family Au, ShadowPeach wanted a big family, but, as things are, it is too painful to even imagine that.

Rumble and Savage come as a bit of a surprise to both of them.

Well... a surprise to Wukong, anyway. Macaque, not as much- as it was almost intentional. His mental state was not quite stable at the time, but he doesn't regret what he did either.

As he created these two through a more magical-based means than through live birth or through a carving of a stone egg. To ensure they were stable, he used some of Wukong's magic...

As how Macaque got it... well...

After seeing so many other monkey's with their own young, day after day, and longing for the ones he lost- the whispers of his head got the best of him. And then he would see Wukong- a man he hardly recognizes anymore, a man he feel so much guilt over, who is now a cold and brutal dictator to the world outside...

Yet who is still so gentle and sweet to the cubs of the mountain....

Another man whose life wasn't exactly easy (which is why he's the way he is) and with a soft spot for people with a similarly difficult past

I think he'd find his own way of showing companionship, implying that you can talk to him about stuff if you want (tho he won't blame you for thinking he's just trying to get to your secrets) and stuff like that. He'll just be very subtle about how honest he's being

Kid heroes are so common these days that it seems like you can't take more than a few steps without tripping over one. Feels like every other week some teenager is finding alien technology in a junkyard or inheriting supernatural weapons from their great-granddad, then immediately going out to fight bad guys. It usually turns out for the best 'cause us capes look out for each other.

But it wasn't always this way. There was a time when putting on a mask to save the day was an adult's game. The rules were different then. You stuck to your own territory, kept your identity a secret from even your loved ones, and you never involved kids.

'Course that all changed over time. Sometimes one of your rogues would decide to try their luck in another town, and you'd follow 'cuz they were your responsibility. And if the city they hit next had a local hero, the smart thing to do was to work with the guy who's familiar with the territory. That's how the first superhero team-ups happened, or so I've been told.

I don't remember who the first sidekick was. Some say it was Robin, others will tell ya it was Speedy. Doesn't really matter, that first batch of them all sprang up around the same time. It was probably bound to happen, s'not like metahuman genes or lab accidents wait until you're eighteen to spring powers on ya.

Still, we weren't about to let the rugrats run wild on their own. Especially if they had powers that were new to them. So fellas like the Flash and Aquaman who had kids with the same powers as them began to train them. I think it was supposed to be like an apprentice thing, but most of the time the heroes acted like they were parents, not just teachers. And back in those days, you didn't tell someone else how to raise their kid.

Unless you were crazy ol' Hal Jordan.

Now, being a Green Lantern, Hal was already different from most heroes. His apartment might've been in Coast City, but he was the lawman for the entirety of Sector 2814. All of Earth was just a part of his beat. So where other heroes might hesitate to take charge on someone else's territory, Hal would always barge right in. That's just the kind of guy he was.

And once he became friends with other heroes like Green Arrow or the Flash, Hal was the cool uncle to the kids. Probably because he always treated them like they were heroes in their own right, not just tagalongs of their mentors. Like this one time, Kid Flash got his speed stolen somehow, so Hal just gave him a power ring and made him a deputy GL for the day!

Those kids, they grew up of course. Went from being the sidekicks to having sidekicks of their own, some of 'em. I reckon that they would've done things differently anyway, having been on the other side themselves once upon a time. But I also know that a lot of the heroes from the Titans generation appreciated the independence and trust that Hal showed them despite not being their mentor, and they followed in his footsteps.

omg i don't think I ever saw these tags before but I'm losing it omg. Gob, despite seeming to neve rhave a permanent residence with his family (remember how they didn't even know where he lived in the s3 finale? lmao), really never expressed an interest in leaving them. He planned on it in s1 during "My Mother the Car", but as soon as he realized Michael couldn't have been the cause of the accident, he decided to ditch his plans and basically save his brother. He does bad things to his family at times, sure, but he still helps them when needed in his own way, and clearly just wants them to love and respect him. Gob Love Family.

So, yes, him really being ready to leave his family? That means everything. I've talked way too much and yet never enough about how PERFECT of a romance Blunder is and I just will never get over how a silly little plot on a sitcom really is just such a profound and true romance of Shakespearan levels.

And, okay,I have to say that I find the psychology of all the characters fascinating already, but Michael and his love life truly make it even more fascinating to me. Partially because I have so many random headcanons about him and Tracey, or at least a lot I've written in fic about the two of them meeting and falling in love, but how could I NOT with how they wrote all of it? Like, Tracey truly DOES seem to be the ~epic love story~ of his life.

He literally shoots himself in the foot every time he tries to move on from her, since I don't think he literally ever can/will - maybe, deep down, he doesn't WANT to. Even with Rebel, one of the very first things he said was "my dead wife had red hair". Doesn't sound like moving on behavior, my dude!!!

And Rebel made it clear she didn't want or do committed relationships, yet he still pursued her anyway, maybe partially only because of the above mentioned reminder of Tracey. Of all his love interests, the only ones he seemed to have a chance with were Marta, Sally, and Rita. The Rita stuff is its own loaded issue i refuse to touch with a ten foot pole lol. But with Marta, he first almost ruined it by not just talking to her honestly when Gob thought she was cheating, which, if he really cared for her as much as he was convinced he did, he would've realized that was obviously not the sort of person she was. And even when they first start connecting, the narrator says that it was basically the first time he had been alone with a woman since his wife died and like...how much of that was him genuinely being in love with her and how much was it just the first time he even tried to connect with a woman since Tracey died?

And with Sally, oof. Finally got the girl and blew it instantly because of Maggie Lizer. Sally herself even pointed out how it was clearly him being unable to handle being in a relationship iirc. He literally just could not handle it. Part of it was being a martyr, sure, but much of it was just because he wouldn't allow himself to be happy. I have so much headcanon over his romance with Tracey, but since it was implied that he had a crush on her since, like, middle school with a throwaway line, he seemed afraid to live in another house properly without her (hence him and GM living in the attic of the model home), and a whole bunch of small little moments...man, I do think that was his epic love story and always will and would be.

Android AU

There's a brand of personal assistant androids, "The Uchiha" which is wildly popular.

They have perfect memory, advanced image processing and recognition, and are also aesthetically pleasing. They can learn the needs and preferences of the people around them and shape themselves accordingly.

They can be set up to display so much personality that you could almost mistake them for a human.

Hashirama was recently gifted a top of the line model by a business partner and his productivity has been through the roof. Madara anticipates his moods and structures things so getting work done is no longer a chore. He also takes care of a lot of the busywork so that Hashirama only really needs to sign some documents at the end of the day (No need to check what he's signing. Madara would never steer him wrong.)

Tobirama has always been skeptical of the androids. He thinks they're pointless if one can manage their own time and also pose a huge security risk.

But Hashirama gifts him one anyways, with the agreement being that he'll try it for a month, and if he doesn't find it helpful, it will be repurposed.

Enter: Izuna

He needles Tobirama to eat on time. When he's particularly busy he ends up hand-feeding him sliced fruit.

He also turns off all the lights and screens when he deems Tobirama has to break for sleep.

Surprisingly to Tobirama, his productivity does improve, even with all the meddling. Izuna is a wonderful assistant in his research and takes care of the chores which would otherwise distract him.

With Izuna doing the shopping and pinging Madara directly when Tobirama needs something from Hashirama, there's no reason for him to go out anymore.

His only company becomes Izuna (And, of course, Madara assures Hashirama that his brother's needs are being met and there's no need to go personally).

He begins relying on izuna for everything:

He doesn't need a clock - Izuna can tell him the time.

No need to keep track of the date - Izuna can do that too.

Izuna will select and ship gifts on birthdays and other holidays, so there's no need for him to go out of his way to attend events.

All he has to do is his experiments and Izuna will take care of everything else...

If he didn't know any better, he would think that Izuna genuinely enjoys his company. They get along so well now that he's not dead-set against allowing the android to stay. Their conversations are engaging and distracting.

Izuna's been so responsible with his banking information, it wouldn't be a bad idea to give him more clearance, right? It does get annoying having to confirm every time Izuna wants to log his collaboration on a project.

In the evenings, Nick likes to dance with you to the radio. Nick always insists on leading, and he's so good at it, how can you complain? For the slower tunes, he holds you close and rocks you sweetly, and on the faster ones, expect him to dip you a few times. If you take him out to the Third Rail to dance, he's happy to show off both his skills and his charming dance partner.

If you shave, he likes to hang around while you do, chit-chatting and admiring you. Prewar Nick had a fancy shaving set with nice brushes and such. He made a whole ritual of it. Synth Nick misses that ritual now that he doesn't need to shave, but he likes to watch when you do. The process feels oddly intimate to him, he's glad you're willing to share it with him. Don't let him distract you too much, though...

Nick likes to read aloud to you in the evenings. Poetry, mysteries, and biographies of the jazz greats are his favorites, but he'll read something you pick if you ask him. He lets you rest your head on his chest while he reads, the low warmth of his voice slowly lulling you to sleep. When you finally doze off, he puts the book down and lets you rest, stroking your hair gently and wondering how he ever got so lucky as to have you.

At first, Nick's a little shy about PDA. He gets enough unwanted attention in public as it is, he's not sure he wants any extra. But the longer you're together, the more he warms up to the idea, and soon enough he wants to hold your hand everywhere you go together. Better watch out, he's stealing kisses left and right. He's proud to have you with him, and you give him confidence he never had before.

He will try to cook for you. Emphasis on 'try.' He never was a great cook prewar, and his sense of taste is different now that he's a synth. Ingredients have changed a lot, and he doesn't always know how to adapt the old recipes he knew. He's made you a couple really bad meals. It's up to you whether you'll eat them anyways and risk having him cook more, or if you'll bite the bullet and tell him the food is nasty. If you do, he'll stick to making you coffee instead.

Speaking of coffee, since he doesn't need to sleep, he's wide awake while you're groggy and fresh out of bed in the morning. So he makes your coffee each morning just the way you like it. It's one kitchen thing he has been able to master.

He loves when you borrow his clothes, finds it here hot. He doesn't have a wide selection, but if he catches you wearing his hat, or borrowing one of his button-downs, his eyes will be glued to you and he'll be grinning like a fool. In his opinion, all his things seem to look better on you.

I recently finished all four books in Thomas Harris' Hannibal series and boy do I have some thoughts about the perception of Hannibal Lecter.

All four books everyone tried to convince you that he is evil and scary but in all honesty, I don't think he is (evil, that is, I'm sure he's plenty scary when he wants to be). Every psychiatrist is like 'oooooh he's a sociopath/psychopath' but actually no, he isn't, he shows a great deal of empathy - it's just highly selective. Are we not all guilty of some modicum of selective empathy? I know personally I'm going to feel a lot less empathy for a predator than I do for a victim, you know?

And that's the thing about Hannibal - the large majority of his victims were not victims in life, they were only victims in the context of Hannibal. Even as young as twelve years old, he was strange and violent, yes, but he was only violent to those that picked on people smaller and weaker than them. And if you look through his list of victims there's only a handful that make you question his morals, in my opinion (outside of the obvious moral quandary of murder).

But honestly, the biggest thing for me? Aside from how crazy intelligent and insightful he was, I was struck by how funny he was; that man was a silly goose the entire time and no one ever appreciated that. I can't imagine what it would be like to be the funniest man alive and no one ever acknowledged that. He finds so much joy in the tiny things - to the point where he can live entirely in his mind palace for long stretches because he's filled it with beauty and fascination - that he can find the humor and beauty in just about any situation, no matter how dark. He is able to enjoy his own company happily because he has created a rich tapestry of interests and appreciation for life.

He shows over and over again that he is, overall, very thoughtful and respectful - especially to women. In fact, in the books anyway, he is not attributed to killing any women. Not that the law knows about, not that we've seen from Hannibal's own POV (but the nurse! you say. I mean she didn't die lol but mostly it was just a matter of coincidence - it just happened to be her, he'd have done that to anyone as a matter of self preservation, even Barney if he let his guard down). The women that knew him socially from before his arrest all said he was courteous and incredibly complimentary, and not in a creepy way, in a very genuine way that showed appreciation. He remembered birthday's. He personalized gifts to each person's interests. In the books, he frees trapped animals even if it's inconvenient to his plans. He's kind to children even though most people would never expect him to be.

There's a couple of neat passages in Hannibal where Barney talks about Hannibal's character and motivations but this is already getting long so I'll make that another post for another day. The big take away from those passages, is that Barney is the person who spent the most time with Hannibal for almost ten years, and Hannibal spoke to him more candidly than he did anyone else (there were points where Hannibal didn't speak at all, in SOTL Chilton makes a comment about how long it's been since he's heard Hannibal's voice. In Hannibal, Barney tells Clarice sometimes he wouldn't speak for months at a time). But essentially, it is clear to Barney that Hannibal is capable of empathy, respect, and admiration. He is capable of feeling warmth and affection. The one quote from Barney that I will drop here is: "One quality in a person doesn't rule out any other. They can exist side by side, good and terrible."

Is he a good person? No. But I don't know that you can say he's an evil one either. He isn't the big bad wolf. He isn't the devil the entire series tries to make you believe. He's a man - more complex than most - but just a man nonetheless.

she is suri sauthon. her story is linked to my swtor imperial agent, tar'x, but most of her life except for the one year away where she meets him, is spent in a town in the mountains of mirial.

despite mirial being cold and desert, and many cities developing underground, her town flourishes thanks to a force nexus, venerated in the form of an ancient, sacred, alive crystal. the ecosystem of that mountain depended on what "the horned crystal" was capable of giving them, but mirialans couldn't live off of that alone, so they developed trade and some rudimental technology, even if oftentimes it was bought thanks to the highly profitable trade of a plant used to make medicines that slowed down aging and had overall healing properties.

note: everything that's generated by this nexus has these healing properties BUT they have to be processed, except for those who bathed in the waters of the cavity under the crystal - the "real" nexus, but not the worshipped one. the waters were sacred but they were not thought to be miraculous, unlike the crystal, who instead was thought of as the keystone of the ecosystem: without it, everything would fall apart (and that is partially true: the cavity was the "real" nexus but thanks to the crystal, also strong in the force, the properties were spread all over the mountains). those who bathed in the cavity's waters - so, all of the town, who had a sort of baptism there - could eat the plant, make whatever food with it, and not only that plant, but everything generated by the nexus, that, again, had similar properties. this allowed people to live up to normal life-spans without advanced medicines or, much, really. to those who didn't live there, though, after the processing, had incredible effects, slowing down aging - for those who took it regularly - and making people able to live up to half a century more than the average]

originally, there were four tribes of nomads that lived thanks to horned farm animals that decided to settle down into one bigger town and other smaller settlements, to live off of transhumance. this division of the tribes stayed into the political and social organization: every person belonged to one tribe specifically, and had slightly different rituals and culture. for examples, each tribe had their own priests and healers, with different techniques and traditions. the town, tho, was guided by a group of people in the high priesthood, a position you could reach only by having earned the trust of all tribes. those high priests had many roles: they guided the people into sacred processions common to all the tribes, they managed the trading with outsiders, they did the maintenance of the temple of the summit (the one that functioned as casket to the crystal) and created a special liquid to offer the crystal that helps it grow.

this particular temple was important because 1. it was very visible, from every angle of the town, and it became an important identity symbol; 2. it stored the venerated horned crystal; 3. it had the altar where sacrifices were made for the crystals. that altar had a hole connected to the cavity, that allowed the liquids to reach the underground; 4. it had various symbols: statues representing each tribe + the high priesthood, and typical mirialan tattoos carved into the wood of the trees that served as columns for the temple, symbolizing 8 values that who dared to enter HAD to have; 5. it was on the way to an important lake (called "mother lake" because the lake the town was built around to depended on the waters of that other lake) where they traveled to in important processions; 6. it was said that a the wizard who unified the tribes made it with its magic, making the plant grow to hold the temple's roof. this wizard was, actually, a force user, obv.

BACK TO HER THOUGH: she's daughter of one of the high priests, who was in charge of managing the trades with outsiders, and lives in a house on the mountains with her mother and him. her parents are from different tribes (that's one of the things that earned him trust from the 4 tribes): when a child is born from two different tribes, they don't pick one to allign to, but they're usually linked automatically to the one with more relatives in it (in her case, the father's tribe: she had many uncles and aunts on his side while her mom only had one sister).

later, though, she got quite tied to her mother's tribe due to a mysterious illness that only her mother's tribe healer was able to cure. she spent 4 years (from 10 to 14 years old) living with the healer and learned her secrets. to better study, she wrote them down. when she returned home, she studied to become a priestess with her father. at 22 (the average age: you can't become priest before your 20s), she was supposed to take a test and become a priestess, but the healer of her mother's tribe died and the tribe asked her to take her place. she couldn't technically do that, but both tribes estimated both her and her parents and she was allowed to become both. she then decided to try to become a high priestess, and became one at 25 (a quite young age). being part of the council, she tried to convince the various tribe healers to unite their knowledges and write them down, and eventually made it. healers still remained tribe based but they now had an "upper, inter-tribe level" similar to high priesthood.

years later, the sacred horned crystal is stolen from the temple by some Hutt mercenaries looking for a profit. given the trust she has earned from all the tribes and the fact that her father is the high priest that deals with outsiders (and she's been hearing stories and advice about it since she was little), she is the one tasked with getting it back. without the growing crystal, the keystone to their ecosystem, the village would have lasted only a few years. in hrr quest, she meets imperial intelligence agent tar'x laran and, as they "solve the mystery" and fight to have it back, they get closer. they'll get married and have a daughter, Vegoia (who's the only one who actually will get to the plot of my story. this was all background)

Kinda debating on making some art from one of my fav old rps from back in like 2017 because there was a lot of fun stuff from it. The person was hands down one of the best people I ever roleplayed with and was an amazing Sollux. I have the old chat logs and stuff so I can draw out everything that happened and basically cute SolNep stuff but also Nep basically gets Brightheart-ed at one point and Sollux is blinded in the roleplay so he doesn't know she got pretty much maimed.

this series' batshit production makes it impossible to figure out what the fuck is going on at any time ever....

Does it make sense that Deluge is supposed to be taken at face value and that totheark does know that Alex is watching the channel? Does it make sense that Advocate is a warning that Brian is in immediate danger from Alex? I'm trying so hard to fit the pieces together and they will not fit. I hate to keep coming back to the "totheark is completely full of shit" conclusion but I'm struggling to make it make sense any other way.

for one, WHAT is totheark waiting for in S1 if they already know where Alex is and are watching him closely enough to know that he's started watching the Marble Hornets channel? If the whole point of them antagonizing Jay is that they need Jay to lead them to Alex, then how could they know that Alex is watching the channel? Are we supposed to take this at face value and believe it? Or is it just totheark playing mindgames with Jay in order to get what they want?

for two, again, if totheark already knows where Alex is and are watching him closely enough to know that he's about to make a move against Brian, then what are they waiting for??? The moment Tim/Brian cross paths with Alex in S2, they are starting physical confrontations with him left and right -- if they know where he is and know he's a threat in S1, then why are they fucking around and sending videos to each other instead of kicking Alex's ass? Do we know for sure that this video is intended to be warning of a threat against Brian himself? Is this video supposed to be telling Jay that if he doesn't pony up and follow the tip he got to Brian's house, the evidence he's looking for won't be there anymore? Jay's constant recurring conflict in S1 was that he wanted to go out to these locations to get answers but also he didn't, because that's scary, so he kept hesitating and hemming and hawing until totheark put the pressure on him and he caved, so maybe that's it? Or maybe it's just more of totheark fucking around with Jay -- "framing" Alex to make it seem like he had some hand in something happening at Brian's house?

Like, I keep trying to make the first two seasons of Marble Hornets make sense in line with the third. Alex's whole goal is to kill everyone and then himself, right? And it's common interpretation that that has been his plan from the very beginning. So if he had a gun by Entry #16, why doesn't he use it against Tim in Entry #35? Why doesn't he grab it to use it in Entry #45? If he lured Jay out to the Rosswood area with the 04-04-10 tape in order to kill him, why doesn't he do so immediately in Entry #35? Why does he let Jay stalk him for months before finally trying to kill him if that was supposed to be his plan the whole time? If totheark had been watching Alex from the beginning, then why do they spend so much time fucking around with Jay instead of Alex in S1? Why don't we see any footage of Alex filmed by totheark? If Alex and Brian are already squaring up with each other in S1, then why is anyone bothering with Jay at all? i don't getttttt ittttt!!!!! make it make sense to me!!!
