Cynthia and John are worse and crazier for admitting what they admitted in the bio. But Jane and Paul are not exempt.

They never look more like a couple than when the women they're actually dating are right next to them. 

The India footage actually looks so beautiful. Obviously it's a beautiful place, but they all genuinely look so free and at peace there. It really could've been so good for them. Getting enlightened, getting soberish, growing closer as a band, taking a much-needed rest. It should've been good. 

The music choices in this documentary! The drastic shift from, “all you need is love” and “the dream I had was true” and “I don't need much to set me free.” to Paul leaving to “yes I'm lonely. Wanna die.” “I'm going insane.” “Look at me. Who am I supposed to be?” 8d8 psychic damage. And the thing is it's real. John really did flip a switch, just like that.

Smashing my head into a wall. It's the same as Yoko's quote about how ‘nobody hurt John more than Paul.’ Really Pete? Worse than after his mum died? Really Yoko? More than that drunk cop? Paul, what the fuck did you do to him in India, seriously, because at this point in the doc I can't accept the theory that it was just some lack of communication, I just can't. 

It's also telling to me that when John's losing it, everyone's solution is some time alone with Paul. Nobody panic. Paul can fix him. Little do they know Paul's the one that broke him. Or maybe they do know and that's only another reason they know Paul's the only man for the job?

Old-fashioned ad voice: You liked Protective Jesus Scandal Paul? You'll love Protective LSD Scandal John! Really. Before the question is even out, he's making fun of it. I think he cuts off the interviewer at least three times with jokes before he can get the sentence out, and by the time he is, Paul's giggling too hard to feel bad about his little PR fuck-up.

Then he lets Paul talk a bit before jumping back in, this time with his Hard Man suit on. It's just so good. A testament to their unconditional love, really. Because, clearly, Paul's just hurt John pretty bad. And yet, here John is. Using every trick he's got to defend his friend. 

But actually, though John is supposedly the one everyone's worried about, Paul's doing a pretty shit job of being the “stable” one. This entire press tour he's either fucking blazed and laughing at everything or disassociated and not contributing.

(((except during that political discussion – again! Paul secretly has actual thoughts on actual things?!)))

But for the most part, John's absolutely holding down the fort. I wonder if this is another case of everyone – all their friends and business associates, just like we as a fandom still do now – assuming John is the problem child, and Paul's the strong one, but actually they're both both. 

Back to the political interview. They're just so in sync. Finishing each other's sentences when you're talking about the weather or your shared work is one thing. Finishing each other's sentences on complex topics like why poor whites often vote bigots in or the cause of rampant misinformation is quite another. 

“Letting his dad cut his hair at sixteen, seventeen.” You all know that John hates Jim quote. 

John: so there's war, and vegetables. There's relativity and absolute.  Paul (absolutely smitten): that's great Johnny. Int: that's rather hard for people to interpret. John: well if they can't interpret it now, maybe they will later..... 1. John really was extremely intelligent. 2. That last statement sums up Beatles historiography.

Paul really just Won't be alone with John, will he? Well, two can play at that game, Paul, and John's going to win, let me tell you. 

But he's going to do one last panic grab for attention first.

I really do think if John had done something like that *before* Paul would've given him that attention. Told him he's being insane and taken him home to splash some cold water on him or something and then given him whatever softness Paul was capable of. But not anymore. 

I wonder if Paul could go back to 1966 if he just wouldn't have taken John to that Indica show where he met Yoko. If he would've just said “okay John, sure, let's just stay home and trip on the couch tonight.” I don't know.

Anyway, Yoko gets an A+ for persistence. Imagine being Paul, George, or Ringo, though, and John is suddenly madly in love with this woman whose been begging you all (and then him specifically) for a platform for over a year? It would be weird to say the least. 

John: don't you hate me? I'm crazy, you know. Paul: no I don't hate you. John: aren't you pissed at me now, Paul? Even a little bit? Paul: I'm very proud of you. It's the unstoppable force (“Don't ‘nore me, Mimi!”) vs the immovable object (“I learned to put a shell around me”.) Someone get them some professional help before they nuke the whole world. 

“There is, however, a desire to get power in order to use it for good.” One of those quotes that just really lets you see a person, you know? Benevolent dictator Paul. 

Yoko, why are you talking about how bad your boy doesn't want to fuck you right in front of all his closest friends and on record for posterity? If you have to be talking about your sex life, shouldn't you be lying about how insanely horny he is for you? Oh, right, she will think of that, just not yet. 

And then she waxes poetic about how turned on John is when he's working on music with Paul. Cool. Smart. Thanks for that, though, genuinely.

And Then (gosh, Yoko is such an asset to Beatles history when she's not actively spreading misinformation. Everyone give her a hand) she goes on about how Paul goes out of his way to make her feel respected and even valued. Compare that to John and Linda, anyone? And I want to be clear, I'm not saying this means John cares too much and Paul doesn't care at all, which might be the surface read. I just think John's reaction was to scream in everyone's face that he was in pain and Paul's was to insist ad nauseam that he was fine. You know?

Mother Gooseberry seems to have an inconsistent sense of sexuality-- sometimes she acts scandalized at the mere suggestion of sexuality, and sometimes she's the one making lewd remarks. Depends on her mood & what's convenient.

Could you spare some Nyo!Iceland x Hong Kong headcanons please? Esp some revolving around how the two are affectionate with each other both in public, around friends/family, and then in private

One of the reasons I absolutely love this ship is that Hong Kong in general, is really hard to faze. He is always unserious and never takes anything seriously. Nyo! Iceland on the other hand, is very oblivious and socially closed off.

I can imagine their meeting being a bit scary for Iceland because she's not used to someone as outgoing as Hong Kong paying any attention to her. Hong Kong is, of course, completely smitten by her.

Now that that's out of the way, here are your headcanons. Also for simplicity's sake, I'll just call Nyo! Iceland 'Iceland'

-in public, Iceland doesn't really like it when Hong Kong is overly affectionate because it makes her worry they'll annoy people. Hong Kong is a little disappointed about it, but he respects it and usually limits physical contact to just hand holding and the occasional hug when they're in public. This also depends on what one would consider being affectionate because there are multiple ways Hong Kong shows his affection such as always wearing his most comfortable jackets, not to keep himself warm, but to eventually give them to Iceland if she gets cold.

-around their friends, Iceland still doesn't prefer loud displays of affection. As long as whatever Hong Kong is doing is subtle, she does not mind. He'll have his arm around her, occasionally kiss her forehead or cheek, fidget with her hair braiding it and unbraiding it during tedious conversations, things like that.

-Around the other Nordics, it's definitely a lot less of an issue, but there's more to it than just being obnoxious. Norway really doesn't like how her sister acts around Hong Kong. Iceland is in no way a sweet little angel, so it's incredibly concerning to Norway to watch Iceland get all sweet and giggly around Hong Kong. It's nothing against Hong Kong, Norway is just like 'where was this when you almost snapped my neck for stealing your sweater?'Finland is an absolute sweetheart and she doesn't care if they're all cuddly as long as Iceland's happy. Sweden also doesn't mind them being affectionate with one another. All her reservations about Hong Kong were already addressed before she gave Hong Kong her permission to date Iceland. Denmark thinks it's a little... Ew, but she doesn't say anything because she's not a complete killjoy. Usually, them being affectionate entails Hong Kong insisting on having her cuddled up in his arms.

-in private, Iceland is 100% more comfortable being affectionate with Hong Kong. Without having to worry about bothering anyone else, Iceland can actually reciprocate Hong Kong's gestures.

Additional headcanons:

-Hong Kong does this thing where he'll flick water in anyone and everyone's face after washing his hands. He has to be really careful doing it with Iceland because she'll either laugh it off, get hilariously angry about it or just cry. It's a gamble.

-Iceland is painfully oblivious when it comes to flirting. Hong Kong could literally be reading off a catalogue of pick up lines and Iceland would think they were just awful dad jokes. I can imagine Hong Kong's first time asking her out on a date being super awkward because they'd have been friends for a while and Hong Kong always drops flirty remarks here and there, but all Iceland does is awkwardly laugh at them. Finally he gets fed up and just straight up asks her out, and to his absolute shock, she enthusiastically agrees. It turns out she wasn't just laughing at his pick up lines because she didn't know how to respond, she actually had no clue they were pick up lines.

-Iceland has the attention span of a gen alpha ant, so she often zones out whenever they're walking because surely Hong Kong knows where they're going... Only Hong Kong is the exact same way. They have unknowingly led each other to the middle of nowhere because both of them assumed the other was leading. It never fails to make them laugh.

-Hong Kong thought he could do that thing where he holds something out of reach to tease Iceland, but she will absolutely find a way to get it either by lightly kicking him, so he instinctively doubles over or by literally climbing up to grab it. He doesn't do it anymore.

-Iceland has super cold hands, so if Hong Kong wants to avoid literal icicles on his neck, he has to make sure she has gloves to keep her hands warm.

-their movie nights usually evolve watching Jackie Chan movies and Hong Kong loudly cheering whenever he's on screen. Iceland has even once made a bingo chart for all of the different things he cheers when Jackie Chan comes on screen.

-Iceland has put makeup on Hong Kong when he was asleep on multiple occasions. He sleeps in pretty late, and she needs entertainment. Hong Kong always finds it absolutely hilarious because she does some of the most ridiculously obnoxious makeup looks on him.

charles and pierre sharing a cigarette as they walk through paris on a chilly friday night after closing the restaurant just gossiping because What The Fuck? how could max not tell either of us? but it's the best piece of gossip that's circled through the kitchen in literal months so they're rinsing it to filth. YES. and max experiments with food all the time because they're a high-end restaurant in fucking paris. they cycle through menus regularly, and george is Always the first to try or see max's little creations. think it would be funny if max just Sends pictures of the food to george. doesn't even attach a message with it like *hey what do you think?* no it's just the food. it's okay though because george sends him back a 3 paragraph essay and then has Even More Thoughts when he's able to try it later. also the menu names??? don't make me fucking crazy. princesse could definitely be a dessert of some kind, they name the first dish max ever cooked at george's flat champs elysees and of course pierre and charles are on the same page. this Has to relate to george somehow.

max is literally in charge of oscar and i don't make the rules. like. max has kitten adopted him you are so right my angel. it's very rare that george drops anything other than food reviews, so the article about oscar takes everyone in the kitchen by surprise. like. oscar definitely cries about it after he's seen it because He Knows and lando's just so happy oscar's happy :) oh my god what if what if what if just for shits and giggles george writes an article about the restaurant after max's third michelin star and he's just in the kitchen overseeing max work and he's so incredibly fond. lando's there too snapping away and max has to be like *aren't you supposed to be taking pictures of the entire kitchen?* and lando doesn't even feel bad because he has. like. 30 really good shots of oscar working on this pesto.

I am SO HAPPY about My Uncanny Destiny, it gave me EVERYTHING I could want. It's hilarious, witty, self aware, fresh and forward thinking, sweet and heartwarming, it was absolutely wonderful from beginning to end, a pure joy ride with hardly anything to criticize.

I loved the main couple, they have fantastic chemistry. Amazing to see such gender balance and PLAY, like, this was just so fun to watch and felt good to trust the male characters with their attitude towards women. Liu Xuanming as a smitten for the first time man who cross dresses to make sure his fiancée is safe and respects and admires her so much is AMAZING. Him and Ye Zhaonan are perfect together.

Ye Zhaonan has gotta be one of my favorite female characters ever now. The actress is so expressive and is given a lot of range to play with, which feels so great to see. She's a badass AND very seriously clever AND a goof. Her relationship with the other women and her grace and wit do not go unnoticed, far from it. She rises to the top thanks to it, and everyone must recognize how great of a leader she is, as well as a wonderful friend.

There's a very good balance of women and men in the show, which again, so cool for a Chinese drama. It's a freaking feminist drama, I can't believe how fulfilling it is. The couple at their wedding going through a sex book TOGETHER and getting giddy about it.... I MEAN 🥺🥺 There are so many little things that are just perfect and make me so happy for the future of this genre. It's truly exciting to see what can be done.

I haven't even talked about the delicious (b)romance between the 2 men of the "love triangle" where you end up not even sure who wants who, lol. Guys that are actually so loving and respectful of the same person and bond over this and find they ALSO actually enjoy each other's presence...They're so fun...

the fact that they're hinting at a potential season 2 has me wanting to scream about this show from the rooftops. Watch this absolute gem, you will NOT regret it.

Are you seriously taking an emotional and touching moment, where two grown men are shown to express their feelings in a society where they are actively encouraged and forced not to out of fear of being ostracized and shamed, that has not a single damn thing about it that is even remotely related to sex, and make a suggestive, sexual comment about what is, despite your use of quotation marks around the word, a comforting gesture?

And most audaciously, are you implying that it is intentionally part of the scene of the movie?

Danced around and left the point hanging. If you didn't imply this to be sexual, you wouldn't have avoided actually saying the point you're making. Skirting around the topic, while also talking about it, is used when whatever it is cannot be talked about, uses explicit language, or associated with sex; at least in regards to today's expectations of public behavior.

Queer relationships, especially those between two men, are thought about in regards to sex. The LGBTQ+ community has been desperately fighting for decades to be recognized beyond what they do in the bedroom.

When straight people think of gay couples, they make the connection to sex either immediately or a few seconds later. They ask "Who's the top & who's the bottom?" jokingly, as if that is something you would ever ask a straight couple to share in a casual conversation. One of the biggest problems fighting against homophobes in particular is the fact that they only associate queerness with sex. It's all they think about. So even though queer adults are trying to teach children about identity and knowing who you are, they think that they're somehow teaching and encouraging them to go out and have "gay sex".

As an example: Amity and Luz from The Owl House are two fourteen-year-old girls who are in love with each other. They hold hands, dance, show vulnerabilities around each other, gush over each other, and share a couple sweet kisses. Yet, just the two-dimensional image of two smitten girls who adore each other holding hands generates outcry from the homophobic community. Because despite the fact that they are two children whose relationship has absolutely nothing to do with sex, that's where their mind went anyway.

I'll be crystal clear, queer people are free to express themselves sexually however they want to (excluding illegal atrocities). There is nothing wrong with that.

Reducing queer relationships to sex however, is disrespectful and dehumanizing.

Queer people don't just have animalistically aggressive sex and do nothing else. Not everything in a queer relationship is about sex, just as it's not everything in a straight relationship.

They are two people in love with each other. Being in love with someone is state of being, an emotion, something that is so special that humanity has spent its entire existence trying to understand and communicate what it feels like.

We have this beautiful story about these two young men falling in love with each other, learning about each other, protecting each other, fighting for each other, and finding comfort with each other. This is an emotionally raw and vulnerable moment for Henry to share his pain regarding his father's death, something that he wasn't even allowed the right to do when it happened. He's never gotten to talk about this with anyone, but he's gotten close enough to Alex that he trusts him with his very fragile heart.

And you took this moment to imply Alex is touching him in an arousing manner?

I am so furious that I've been working on this post for several days, trying to make sure I wrote it properly and touched on the right points. I could not sleep when I first read this because of how upsetting it is. It hurts even more considering I'm on the ace spectrum, so to see a genuine moment of emotional vulnerability between these two lovers be turned into just "another sex joke" makes me feel sick.

And let me be clear on one last thing, I do not give a fuck if you want to thirst over or sexualize the actors. That's your choice.

But how dare you imply that it is part of the movie, and the scene itself? How dare you reduce this beautiful moment of comfort to a "sexy touch"?

It is honestly upsetting how many people have reblogged and liked this without even thinking about it. I expected better from the RWRB fandom, but unfortunately this isn't the first time it has ignored a pivotal theme or message of the story to satisfy their self-centered thoughts and questions. Honestly, I'm just so disgusted and disappointed.

Watching this scene, I always thought they looked pretty well covered by those robes...

Only then I saw this photo and realised quite how much leg they're both flashing...

Which incidentally also suggests that when Alex puts a 'comforting' hand on Henry's leg, those long fingers of his are likely not resting on terrycloth...

5x19 I adore the idea of Tim coming in late and just curling up in bed with Lucy, careful not to wake her and just curling around her. Uuugh these two. Look at him showing off his ouchie. I mean he knows she'd murder him if he kept it from her, but also it's just so adorable because you know he likes when she goes into TLC mode. BABE. God I love the babe. I'm on the fence about baby as a couple nickname. I don't hate it but it's just a bit...idk. But I adore babe. And her 100% wearing one of his shirts to study. Pulling his chair closer to her. THOSE SMILES. Now I read a really good fic not long ago about why Lucy forgets to tell Tim about the detective's exam. I cannot for the life of me remember what it was called or who wrote it because I've been binging fanfic the past while trying to catch up with the backlog and this fandom is insanely good at writing. But yeah. It makes sense. They're both busy, Lucy hyperfocuses on things like this, and since she'd obviously spoken about it with at least Angela and Nyla, probably Grey too, between their opposing working hours it just slipped her mind. It happens. If nothing else she might've told him while they were both half asleep. He's so proud of her. He's conflicted but so proud. And she looks so concerned. I really do think she loves UC work but I also think she's fallen out of love with it a little. I think she loves the idea of it, because that's the path she's worked so hard to be on, but she's realising now she has more to lose. I know she shouldn't make career choices solely based on her relationship, but it's something she absolutely should and would take into consideration. It's okay to change your mind, it's okay to change paths. Lucy would excell at anything and everything. I just don't see UC as her big goal anymore.

Also, is there a fic of Lucy calling Caradine out for stealing her lunch? Because if not, why not?! Aaron my sweet angel. Lucy you were always cool. Celina and Aaron friendship, my heart. Ugh. I know how this storyline ends and it hurts to see her with Chambers. Are we really going to continue not hugging Celina?! Seriously?! Lucy so worried about Tim. Let him leave so he can get a Lucy hug, please. Lisseth just absolutely killing it. Oh god my heart. Yes bring Charlie back please and thank you.

Natasha Romanoff has lived a lot of lives. She has been through more than most.

Nat had been taken as an infant by an organization that trained little girls to become lethal assassins.

She was psychologically conditioned to become a killer, having taken more lives than she could count.

Eventually, Natasha had managed to break free from the cage she was forced into and was recruited as a S.H.I.E.L.D agent; it was a new start for her, an opportunity to compensate for the red in her ledger.

So, Natasha took her job seriously, saving as many people as she could, even more so when she became an Avenger; one of earth’s mightiest heroes.

Natasha found something in the team that she never really had before; a family. She found a home within the dysfunctional team she had been recruited into.

Not only did Natasha find a family within the Avengers; she also found the love of her life.

Natasha hadn’t even considered the possibility of ever finding love.

For starters, the Red Room had instilled the concept that love was nothing but a distraction; a liability.

She had been taught that love was for children and it was nothing but a weakness that needed to be avoided at all costs.

She was quite literally programmed to be emotionally closed off and to always have her guard up. Letting someone into her heart was a risk she didn’t want to take.

When Natasha gained her independence from the organization, she had to do a lot of self-discovering. She had never been able to be her own person, but now that she could, she quickly learned that she didn’t even know herself.

However, it was Natasha’s insecurities that truly turned her off from the entire idea of love.

How could any ever possibly love her? She thought she was a monster for the things she’d done. She has done the unspeakable since ever she was a child.

What if she wasn’t enough? What if her baggage was too much for someone else to carry? She didn’t want to be a burden. She didn’t want to have to protect someone, just to fail them like she had failed so many others.

Natasha was positive that no one would ever be crazy enough to love her.

You were more nervous about meeting her than anyone else. What if she judged you? What if she didn’t think you were good enough to be an agent, let alone an Avenger?

Not only was she your superior, but she was also your crush. Yeah, you’d never even met the woman before, but you were crushing on her hard.

She was drop-dead gorgeous, but also quite literally a deadly force. Natasha could easily take down anyone she wanted to, and honestly, you wanted to be one of those lucky people.

When you met Natasha for the first time, you were a flustered mess. The redhead found it amusing, how your cheeks turned a bright shade of red and you stumbled over your words as you praised her work.

Natasha never told you this, but she was immediately smitten the moment she laid eyes on you.

There was a kindness and positivity that just radiated off of you and it was extremely contagious.

You were this beaming ball of light that lit up the darkest parts of her soul.

You got to know Natasha extremely well while being on the team. From observing her closely and paying very close attention to her actions, you had managed to pick up on little things.

She didn’t put any creamer or sugar in her sugar; opting for strong, black coffee.

She was kind of a clean freak. If she saw something out of place, she would be quick to put it in the correct place or position.

When she was happy, she would let a small smirk cross her features. When she was annoyed, she would raise her eyebrows.

When she was stressed out or angry, three little creases would appear on her forehead as her eyebrows would knit together tightly; a subtle frown on her face.

Of course, when you began dating the redhead, you didn’t really have to survey her so closely anymore because she’d tell you things herself.

No matter the circumstances, Natasha would always come to you and rant about it. Whether it was about how shitty a mission went or how she beat Clint’s ass during training; you were the only person she wanted to tell.

Natasha had opened up to you, something she never did with anyone. She told you all about her past.

You had some knowledge of Natasha’s previous life, considering it was in her files, but you didn’t realize just how horrible her childhood truly was.

The Red Room, the heavy weight of guilt that rests on her shoulders, the nightmares that forced her to relive the murders she committed, her time as a S.H.I.E.L.D agent, and becoming an Avenger.

She’d go on and on about her road to redemption or ‘clearing the red out of her ledger.’

Natasha was terrified when she told you about her demons. She figured you were going to leave her the second she finished talking, waiting for you to get up and walk out the door, but you didn’t.

So, you completely caught her off guard when you pulled her into a bone-crushing hug, placing a soft kiss onto her temple, the redhead relaxing in your embrace.

“You’re the strongest person I know. It’s not your fault, you were forced and conditioned to do the things you did.”

Natasha focused on the sound of your voice and took in your words as you softly caressed her red locks with one hand.

“Baby, the amount of respect I have for you is immeasurable. I applaud you for turning your life around for the better. I’m so fucking proud of you.”

Your words had brought tears to Natasha’s eyes, which was a rare occurrence.

She was expecting you to run for the hills, but you chose to pull her closer instead.

In that moment, Natasha knew she never had to be afraid of love again.

You were the most understanding and accepting person she’d ever met.

You would never judge her for her worst mistakes; Natasha had found the one for her and she wasn’t ever going to let go.

Now, a few months later and a year into your relationship with the Russian, you were both lying in bed and cuddling.

You were both watching a movie when a particular scene came on. It was of a family gathering around a Christmas tree, children excitedly opening up presents with gleeful smiles across their faces.

“You know, my sister and I got to take pictures with a Christmas tree once.” Natasha spoke, her eyes fixated on the screen.

You looked up at her in shock. You didn’t know that Natasha had a sister. She told you that she didn’t even so much as know her parent’s names.

Natasha looked down and noticed your confused expression. She reached for the remote on the bedside table and paused the movie before returning her gaze to you.

“There was a mission I was assigned to in Ohio, as a kid. I was assigned to play the daughter of two other Russian spies, Alexei and Melina. It wasn’t just me though, there was a little girl who was assigned as my younger sister. Her name is Yelena.”

Natasha had a reminiscent, happy smile on her face as she recalled the brief period time of her childhood. She looked absolutely adorable as she rambled on about this part of her childhood.

“We took photoshoots of various holidays to make our family look more realistic. My favorite one was Christmas. Even though I knew they were just empty boxes, I wanted to rip open every single one.”

Natasha let out a small giggle at the thought. Even though she had a smile on her face, you could feel and hear the underlying tone of sadness in her voice.

“Yelena and I would spend hours outside, just playing together. Swinging on the swing-sets, looking up at the stars, bending over backward, and getting into a ridiculous competition to see who could hold the position the longest… I always let her win.”

You could see the fondness in her eyes, the longing. It warmed your heart that there was a small glimmer of light in Natasha’s past. There was at least a sliver of hope that she clung tightly onto throughout her time in the Red Room.

“After 3 years, the mission ended. Yelena and I were sent back to the Red Room and were torn apart from one another.

Natasha’s breathing grew heavier as she recalled the unfaithful day. The sight of her sister being taken, and not being able to do anything to help her; still haunted the redhead to this day.

“There were so many men with guns and armor, they literally ripped us away from each other. I was eleven and she was only six.”

Your heart sunk at your girlfriend’s words as her smile dropped. She tore her eyes away from yours as she blinked rapidly, fighting back tears, but failed. You reached your hand up to her cheek and wiped away the fallen droplets.

“I haven’t seen her since. I’d like to think that she found a way out and got a life of her own; a nice, happy life.”

Natasha placed her hand on top of yours before looking down at you once more. You sent her a soft smile when she let out a shaky breath.

“I knew that the it was all fake, but it was still the best part of my childhood. It was real to me.”

You nodded your head at her words. She took a brief pause, trying to regain her composure, before continuing.

“Even if we have no true relation to one another, and even if I haven’t seen her in years, she is still my little sister.”

Natasha finished off with a big gasp as sobs wracked her body. You sat up from her embrace and pulled her into your arms, just like you had many times before.

You rubbed her back soothingly as she cried into your shoulder, her tears hitting the exposed skin.

“She sounds amazing, baby. I’m really happy that you had some sort of happiness back then and I hope one day you get to see her again.”

You whispered and Natasha pulled away from the hug, still in your arms as her emerald eyes surrounded by a sea of red, a result of her crying.

“Honey, of course, she’d want to see you again. Like you said, you guys are sisters. I’m positive that it was just as real to her as it was to you.”

You reassured your girlfriend, her eyes a pool of worry and guilt. You rubbed your thumb against her waist, the material of your her hoodie beneath your touch.

“From what you’ve told me about the Red Room, it would’ve been impossible to find her. Stop beating yourself up over it. You’re the best, and I’m totally not biased or anything.”

Natasha let out a small chuckle at that and you smiled at her, wiping away the last of her tears. She collapsed into your hold further, shoving her face into the crook of your neck.

“Thank you. I don’t know what I’d do without you. I love you so much.”

Natasha’s words came out muffled as her face pressed further into your skin.

“You never need to thank me for anything. I’ll always be here for you, Natty.”

You hugged her as tight as you possibly could, her cold skin meeting your warmth. Natasha let out a small sigh at the feeling.

I haven't done one of these in ages... mostly because I've been kept way too busy to read much or even think about compiling what I did get around to reading orz But I have had a chance to read at least a few fun things this year so far and decided to round up some of my favourites!

Asterix and the Griffin

I finally read the newest Asterix comic. My main takeaway: it wasn't one of my favourite Asterix stories, but none of the new ones have been, but I do think it's one of the best by this new team so far. The finale was beautiful! Also, I hate Papercutz and would fistfight them in an alley.

The Complete Brambly Hedge

I read this back in January and it was so soft and sweet. I love these sorts of children stories, and the art was stunning. Honestly, I kind of feel like I need to buy this one. Any story about tiny little guys living in a big world is a set up for me to fall in love, and this one came complete with cute little mouse house cutaway diagrams!

Carry On

I was super skeptical about this one to start with, the Harry Potter satire just felt... way to heavy-handed, but when it finally clicked... boy did it ever click. I think this ended up being my favourite book that I've read this year so far, I am completely smitten with Simon and Baz, they were excellent protagonists and the audiobook I listened to did excellent work.

Critical Role: The Mighty Nein Origins: Caleb Widogast

I listened to a few episodes of Critical Role and enjoyed it, but never managed to stick with it, instead I mostly absorbed this series through dashboard osmosis. Still, I knew enough that reading the comic was a real treat. The art was beautiful, and poor Caleb really had a rough go...

Failed Princesses v5

The latest volume of Failed Princesses. Me and my brother are hooked, though as he put it you could cut the drama with a knife. In a good way. Bless these useless lesbians.

Heartstopper v1-3

I started watching the Netflix show, so obviously I had to go back and reread the first three books! And finally get my shit together and order the fourth in... Continues to just be cute as anything. Would recommend both the graphic novels and the show, they're both acting as a balm for my soul.

Kiki's Delivery Service

Did you know the Ghibli film was based off a children's novel?? Because I sure didn't! I bought this on a whim when I saw it in the local bookshop, and it's adorable. It fits that common 20th century kidlit genre where you have a main character going through little mini adventures/experiences in each chapter. The first book is almost a one to one with the movie, though it diverges at the end. Still, for a kid's novel, it was a delightful, quick little read.

Modelland

This is an actual nightmare that me and my girlfriend were reading outloud to each other for a few months. We finished it in January, but at what cost. I have never read anything so absolutely off the wall fucking weird. I have no idea what Tyra Banks was thinking and I'm not convinced she knew either. Way more fun than it should have been, it was captivating in the same way as a car crash.

Mr Popper's Penguins

A classic kidlit novel I had always meant to read and just had never gotten around to. Finally knocked it out in a day, and found it very charming. I can see why it's stuck around in our collective conscious.

The Outbursts of Everett True

I had seen comics of this floating around on tumblr for a while and finally decided to pick up a copy and read it. Despite how old the comics are, it really does tap into a timeless secret desire to just kick the shit out of people who mildly inconvenience us. Is it serious, or take itself seriously? Absolutely not. Have all the jokes aged well? HECK NO! But there was enough that felt VERY relatable and satisfying that I definitely though it was a worthwhile read!

The Purple Smurfs (and two other stories)

I had never read any actual Smurf comics, which feels odd given how big it was a few decades back. It was an enjoyable comic with very pretty art, though it reinforces, once again, my desire to feed Papercutz to rapid ladybugs. Why are they the only game in town for Smurfs comics?? These are classics, I'd thought they'd be everywhere!

Spiderwick v1-3

I've been working my way through the Spiderwick books this week, since I hadn't read them since I was a kid. They really are superbly written little novels. They never try to tackle too much in one book, and ensure what they do is imaginative, slightly horrifying, and accompanied by the most gorgeous art you can imagine. I'll never forgive the movie they'd attempted, because this series was a work of art.

Every time I see sylki shippers say that Lokius doesn't make any sense because there's nothing romantic between them and how could these two possibly be a couple I just... are they blind, stupid, or both? OR are we blind and stupid and see things that aren't there? I swear I very rarely ship characters but sometimes I just read/watch stuff and it hits me and I'm just "wow, they're in love." It's not like I'm shipping every guy with another guy or something, I actually did that maybe 2 times in my life when I was very adamant about it, and it was with Hannibal with Will and now I'm like that with Loki and Mobius. And people also kept saying we fetishize Hannigram, that they're both straight and in relationships with women and look how that ended :)))

Yeah, like I personally really love shipping characters, but most of the time it's just for fun and I never take it seriously. But then there's cases in which it's genuinely RIGHT THERE. It's not just some headcanon I made up, no it's literally right there and it drives me insane when people say they don't see it. Loki and Mobius is one of those cases. Even my parents see it! They just complete each other so well. But they also have scenes together that just do not have a heterosexual explanation and the fact that a bisexual woman was directing these scenes also convinces me that it wasn't accidental.

For example: the straight up flirting from Mobius towards Loki. The "I know", "pussycat", "if looks could kill" and just the way he looks at him?? He always looks so smitten around Loki? It drives me crazy.

Then the tie scene??? What was that about?

Plus they really made Mobius the first character Loki opens up to and genuinely trusts, they make him his very first friend and let Mobius be the first person Loki hugs too? Plus, now after the final episode he is all Loki has left as well. This is a romance, I don't care what anyone else tries to tell me.

Also the fact they gave us this guy that knows absolutely everything about Loki, but doesn't judge him for any of his actions but instead wants him to grow and become a better person. This is exactly the kind of person Loki needs at his side. Absolutely no one can ever top what Mobius is to Loki, there's no possible love interest for Loki that could ever even come close to Mobius and the writers and directors gotta see that too.

Loki is literally confirmed bisexual now, so there's absolutely nothing going against him possibly having feelings for Mobius. No one can go "But he isn't gay!" because no, he is! He can fall for a man and this man can be Mobius. And the signs are clearly there.

To add to that, yes we do not know Mobius' sexuality but god damn this character grew such a huge queer following in such a short time which is insane, but this usually means that YES there's something hella fruity about this guy.

And obviously the straight up jealousy from Mobius in episode 4 with the "Lokius" track in the background. This just puts the cherry on top. With this they pretty much confirmed that Mobius has feelings for Loki. They even talked about how important the soundtrack is to be able to go deeper into what a character feels etc. It would be full on queerbaiting if they don't go deeper into whatever is going on between the two after this. In this day and age they gotta know what it means to use a shipname in official content. Either you pull through or you gotta be ready for a massive shitstorm. Don't use shipnames in official stuff if you don't pull through with it, all of us are f*cking tired of the constant queerbaiting.

Anyways, we aren't blind and stupid, something is going on between Loki and Mobius! This isn't fetishization, this is us seeing romantic chemistry between two characters that compliment each other really well and a romance storyline that would make a lot of sense in how it completes Loki's arc of self acceptance and growth.

Puppy Love AU

Since the Dog Miraculous' power has been revealed, I can talk about this AU now!

Chloé has the Dog and goes by "Carise Chiot", Alix has the Ladybug Miraculous and goes by "Scarabée", and Marinette has the black cat miraculous and goes by "Lady Noire".

Jalil has the Rabbit Miraculous and goes by "Lapin du Temps".

Zoé's in New York and is the wielder of the Wolf Miraculous and goes "Flara Fangs".

When Chloé first saw the the shorter heroine, she developed a MAJOR crush on Scarabée.

But she's also jealous of Scarabée's partner Lady Noire.

Chloé: That catgirl gets to hang out with Scarabée ALL day! I'd totally have no problems staying by her side for much longer!

Sabrina: Can we watch this movie now?

While Sabrina's absolutely glad that Chloé's willingly opening up to her about her crush, she could do without the ranting about Lady Noire.

Chloé (dragging Sabrina along), would try to secretly follow Scarabée around, only to end up helping with the akuma attack for the day without a Miraculous.

This changes when Fu notices they're having trouble getting an Akuma's item and decides in times like this they need help from a hero that could easily get the akumatized item from just hitting it with their weapon.

He notices that Chloé's been going out of her way to help out the heroine duo (mostly Scarabée) with most Akuma attacks and makes her a permanent wielder for the time.

And thus, Carise Chiot is here!

I have spent my whole evening howling about ep 9 of 2521 like I literally waited all week for this and BOY it paid off completely

Everything about the buildup of Heedo and Yijin's growing relationship had been absolutely beautiful and it's equal parts how well their story is constructed away well as the way Taeri and Joohyuk portray them. They bring SO MUCH life and charm - the way Taeri PERFECTLY encapsulates awkward confused high school girl with blossoming feelings and Joohyuk has really come to OWN soft gentle guy who wears his heart on his sleeve.

I'm not a person who tends to like romances where one party is still in high school, but 2521 handles this SO well. The slow burn has kept the romance from growing too fast and most importantly, there's never felt like a power imbalance. Even though Yijin is am adult, he struggled to really come into his own due to the hardships he struggled, and it was only with Heedo's help that he WAS able to grow up. But BECAUSE he grew with Heedo's support and comfort, that bond developed between them in a way that felt organic and normal. As an "adult" he doesn't feel like he's preying on her or taking advantage of her. If anything, Yijin treats Heedo SO MUCH like ah equal, tries to communicate with her and that's what makes me love it SO much. They've always felt like equals, because Yijin leans on Heedo as much as he supports her and GOD how can i NOT ship that?!

Plus, Joohyuk had just really perfected his shiny yearning eyes lol. He just KILLS these roles and I'm so happy he plays them! I always favor a soft, gentle, heart on their sleeve male lead and God Joohyuk does Yijin so much justice.

But UGH I have been DYING for Heedo and Yurim to actually make up 😭 It was obvious they eventually would and the only reason Yurim was so opposed to Heedo was their circumstances. Yurim carries so much guilt that her parents have struggled and her sport is expensive. She feels an obligation to do well so she can pay her parents back, and Heedo posed that threat. The better she became, the more she threatened Yurim's standing and career. It wasn't Heedo's fault and more than anything, I blame the adults involved in the national team for constantly pitting them against each other and for the immense pressue they put on her.

But ultimately Yurim was LONELY and needed a friend and to know that the one person who'd been able to confirm her was the person she was SO AWFUL to, who she pushed away. I worried they'd carry the misunderstanding out far too long but the writing never let's me down and Yurim was able to resolve her complex feelings and UGH MY HEART. They're so cute together. I REALLY look forward to seeing them spar together now - they're going to be incredible to watch with Yurim taking Heedo seriously AND learning her style. I LOVE it.

Moments in particular I really loved:

Yurim's mom hugging Heedo and telling her the things her own mother didn't, and how I think that was the moment that helped Yurim to see that Heedo wasn't a villain and that she also had suffered greatly

Heedo watching Yijin at work in her house and that entire conversation that followed SCREAMS

"Which side is her prettiest" and he answered IMMEDIATELY, no pause to think about it, he already knew

Yijin is SO certain about his feelings. Unlike Heedo, he understands what he feels and has no question about them

THE WAY. HE. LOOKS AT HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER HELP HELP HELP those EYES that smile HE'S SO SMITTEN

Anyway I think this is absolutely my favorite episode so far, it delivered EVERYTHING I've been looking forward to and God tomorrow's episode looks just as lovely. I can't wait 😭 this series has been so good and God I'm in love.

Shino Aburame Multiship List and my personal takes that no one asked for but I'm sharing anway because I just want to give Shino more love and maybe if anyone else has a take they can share? Idk! This concerns the Rookie Konoha Nin (Sai Included <3)

Shino.Hinata 7/10

Seems obvious enough on why it makes sense. In canon Shino, and Kiba, very much act like the older brothers she never had. They learn to rely on each other and get along more than others might expect at first. They're both from Noble Clans, and so obviously have a certain amount of pressure on them (though surely Team 10 felt the same way. And Sasuke, probably? maybe?), and that kinda helps their connection. Natural, soft, cute. Kind of dramatic when you start involving clan politics and things like that (or maybe that's just me lol). Unfortunately, despite my fondness for variety, I seriously can't help but mainly think of this ship as unrequited on Shino's part when I consider it more seriously and romantically. Something about... the trick your mind plays on you when you associate with someone frequently enough that you get a crush on them? Hm, I prefer their relationship as soft besties, supportive and not messy with romantic feelings. But yeah, they'd have a super cute and soft domestic life together for sure when I push past canon and just enjoy them together as a couple.

Shino.Kiba 7/10

When it comes to shipping Kiba and Shino, I just like how goofy it could get. Canon certainly provides fuel with these two being the only two not married or with children. I know Kiba has Tamaki, but just like so many other things in the series, Tamaki's introduction as Kiba's love interest feels... forced and last minute. As a ship, I like to think think of that classic ambivalent relationship where Kiba is super jealous of Shino, but realizes he's actually into Shino later on. Meanwhile Shino is annoyed as fuck, but also misses Kiba's company regardless. They didn't just magically become friends, there were a lot of hours put into their relationship! But because of that, they get along in a much more personal level compared to Kiba and Choji or Naruto and Shikamaru. So after that, just a lot of typical awkward and moody feelings because I think it's hilarious when lighthearted. More serious and angsty, the more I feel like it's not such a great ship, especially when it's pushed WAY too far by others in fandom and I see Kiba characterized as the token fuckboy (what?) and Shino as a passive nerd (WHAT?) that takes his shit willingly (W H A T ! ?) Shino 100% would never go down without a fight. That or he'd just leave to fight another day. But he's never gonna just STAND THERE? And Kiba? Kiba LOOKS TOUGH but Shino's probably made Kiba cry unintentionally, like, at least TWICE since teaming up as Genin!

Shino/Shikamaru 8/10

This is a ship where it would just be me shipping characters I simply like together. Lots of fans do this. I know Shikamaru is just a truly young and immature boy that deals with anxiety and low self confidence and grows into a man that is absolutely smitten by that one woman who wakes up and chooses violence everyday. I already love that, ShikaTema is my favorite canon ship in Naruto. But I also have this idea where Team 10 is literally the Queer Team in my head. Ino-Shika-Cho are all some kind of queer, and I just love them being so close and friends and just... yeah. ShikaCho and InoSaku, yeah? But in a world where I play up the drama in my head, Shikamaru and Shino I personally ship later in life? And... they're more interesting to me because it's NOT easy to apply a romantic relationship to! But it's still plausible in a way that I feel they would make the other "feel things" and not strictly romantic things, but compared to ShinoKiba and ShikaCho, ShikaShino is "Smart Guys Go Goofy in the Head Over Each Other" while KibaCho is "Childhood Friends Who Drifted Apart and are Reconnecting". Mostly Shikamaru who's initiating it and Shino resisting at first, but we all know Shikamaru is the best strategist of his time. It's not manipulation, it's understanding and effort and also building a better friendship as a base? Shino's still unpredictable, but that's what makes it so fun to weave as a story.

Shino.Choji 5/10

Honestly I didn't think about this ship too much before? The whole Cho/Butterfly thing with Shino associated with Insects gives way to some superficial jokes, but tbh, as I wrote this, I feel like Shino would be the one who falls for Choji first? Not because of the butterfly thing, but because of simply how caring and kind Choji is. He's so loyal and human with his insecurities and yeah, he's a dumb boy, but at his characters core, he is a GOOD character that was wasted, much like Shino. And even though ShikaCho is, like, obviously it, if Choji were to extend even half of a ShikaCho level of friendship to Shino, I think it's only logical that Shino would fall first because Choji is simply just kind and grounding in his own way. Similar in a way to how I see Shino.Hinata, but even more fucking confusing because Choji was a problem child, Shino is just Like That and also gay?? Oh yeah, and they're Dads work pretty well together? And they're both Nobles too? But literally the two Nobles that not even the common people take all that seriously lmao... Shino and Choji would be so shy I think though, that'd be cute.

Shino.Ino 8/10

Okay, so I actually LOVE flowers, and I do like learning about insects. Bugs and flowers go together very naturally. In world where Ino wasn't terrified of bugs or in love with Sakura (I NO SA KU) I could probably ship Ino and Shino pretty fondly actually. Especially when you take into account that Shino had a CANON glow up and though canon always writes Ino as a little superficial, all in all, I also like a sensorXsensor ship. Ino realizing she doesn't actually have to BE a Yamanaka sensor to "read" Shino because all she had to do was pay some fucking attention lmao. And I love me some petty Shino, and Shino being gently fixated on Ino because he was canonly in 2nd place because Ino's charismatic ass was 1st back in the academy (at least concerning the rookie 9 lol). I also see this ship as ambivalent, but not as argumentative as Shino/Kiba and more just getting to know each other with time, getting over first impressions! You can change them! I ALSO headcanon that Inoichi was the closest of his InoShikaCho team to Shibi back in their heyday, Inoichi actually having enough comfort in Shibi to straight up yell at Shibi about stuff and junk, and Shibi taking... most things to heart. (AKA Inoichi helped Shibi get with Shino's Mom lmao She was InoShikaCho's classmate). The Good Libra/Aquarius Ship

Shino.Naruto 3/10

Naruto is constantly disrespecting my man Shino. However, if Naruto were ever to come out of the closet (BECAUSE YES) and realized what a babe Shino really was later in life, and how GOOD at his job Shino really is, and how Shino is surprisingly gentle and caring with kids like Iruka-sensei was when he was still an instructor, Naruto's whole idea of Shino could do a 180. Shino, bug boy who blew off a kids arms off because HE COULD. Shino, ever the stickler. Shino, who ACTUALLY threatened Naruto to never speak of that one mission ever again. Shino who holds grudges and aimed his murderous aura at Naruto more than once... And then you have Shino, who just wanted to know that Naruto cared about him as a friend, but instead you get dumbass Naruto suddenly all in Shino's business and really acting WEIRD and Shino is really unsure how to handle it all, but he's not easily impressed, so Naruto just keeps trying. That, or like... I get a 2000's movie vibe from these two somehow. Like... American Pie levels of stupid, or Fired Up but not quite GR!ND... closer to Blades of Glory but DEFINITELY NOT Superbad or later... It works out in the end and it's not THAT funny but it still makes you laugh?? Naruto is the dumbass but Shino gets knocked off his high horse and gets dragged along with him for the ride and that's the best part lol

Shino.Saku 2/10

Equally matched in intellect... Otherwise I don't know.... how... But I think... Maybe Shino came in handy with the Chakra reserves? Sakura was on her way, being the top notch medic nin she is, but Shino was able to keep the Pt/Victim stabilized with chakra replenishment via his Kikaichu? New found respect? Not a very likely ship, though I can see their professional relationship very well! Aburame specialize in Ninja Arts, obviously, but do y'all realize just how handy bugs can be when it comes to medicine and treatment? Shit is pretty cool! Medical honey infection control, sterilized maggot debridement, oil beetle cantharidin wart removal, fruit flies can even be used to detect cancer? (Idk lol)

Shino.Sasuke 5/10

Again, if Sasuke ever were to come out of the closet. But even so, it's so crazy how Sasuke is able to recognize Shino and just be like, "Oh, it's you." Shino REALLY down about not being able to bring Sasuke back, and Sasuke becoming aware. Or Shino ACTUALLY on the Sasuke mission and being ESSENTIAL in the success of the mission and Sasuke, defeated, KNOWING IT, and hating everything, but as time goes on, being thankful, even though it's often overlooked. Sasuke and Shino becoming closer friends, apart from their respective teams. Both from Noble Clans... I just want them to be friends tho tbh

Shino.Lee 6/10

I can see it, but it's kinda hard!! Lee and Shino can be equally intense. But it's the difference between Sunlight and Gravity. Like, Lee is such a good boy though and when I ship Shino and Ino, Lee gets to sweep Sakura off her feet. And Shino ADMIRES Lee, he really does, and I can see him standing up for Lee and Lee really appreciating it too. But idk, this would be one of the slowest of burns, but it WOULD be cute now that I think about it! Like, legit it'd be so positive awwww...

Shino.Neji 6/10

Kind of like a combination of Shino/Hinata and Shino/Sasuke? Shino absolutely ready to murder Neji after what happened to Hinata, but then Hinata and Neji slowly build a relationship, and Shino is happy for Hinata but still weary about Neji. Neji being kind of priss and uneasy around Shino, but they both care about Hinata enough to try and get along. Smart, tolerable, very much about the Shinobi mentality. Mutual respect? Admiration from afar? Hinata getting tired of their prideful shy boy bullshit and planning shit with Kiba and Lee and TenTen? Idk lol (As far as crack goes, I've seen more KibaNeji personally??? It's an odd one!)

Shino.Tenten 6/10

Can be a case of pairing spares, but regardless of canon, it could be cute? I do love that Tenten has some sass of her as well! As with Shino and Sasuke I would have liked these two to be better friends than anything else, just for a chance to see their dynamics?? I'm more of the headcanon that Tenten and Shino are both queer and ACTUALLY Tenten is THE mean lesbian who also didn't realize she was a lesbian but also doesn't grow into her queer self until later. Same with Shino but he's just SO quiet about it, not mean because if it. He's just mean lol. They're mean together.

Shino.Sai 8/10

Bro, these two get along so well!! I feel like there's already a lot of mutual respect between them when they first meet. They size each other up some, but keep it light and don't do anything unecessary. They're both very "clean". BUT, unlike Shikamaru and Neji, and like Sasuke but he's always absent, Shino and Sai are just so weird in themselves and I think that's part of the fun. They made up their own little fucking club in the games SPECIFICALLY to mess with Naruto, like... they can both murder you easily on their own but then you see them together and they have that soft boy/enby aura about them?? I also ship it asexually, but also unbelievably and almost embarrassingly romantic "as time passes". They're own brand of romance. A slow but very natural and warm burn. Yet you don't get to see those moments. They're not for you <3
