I usually alternate between enjoying traditional and digital art. and right now I like my sketchbook more than my iPad.

But my digital art looks more finished and colourful. And my Asterix sketches are mostly studies rather than my own ideas. 😅

This is because of shared tropes, references, cultural material, art styles, etc. This does NOT mean that they’re all from France! Just that they’re all written in French!

Asterix and Blueberry are from France; Lucky Luke, Tintin, Spirou & Fantasio, Gaston, the Smurfs, and JKJ Bloche are all Belgian; Yakari is Swiss; and Blacksad is made by Spanish creators but written in French for a French audience and published in France
