overthinking about my surana
in the start the way surana keeps looking around then the templar rips something in me.
the way he keeps nodding while irving goes on and on about the harrowing. teacher's pet.
it's a fine thing we did! our skill has won the battle! you're in the fade by yourself. not beating the Hmm there's something wrong with Surana allegations.
i do play him as a demure, helpful character, so it goes really hard to think of him as... not mentally well. he talks to himself. mutters. everyone's like oh surana. that's just how he is. that's fine in the circle. he's a leader, which comes out after the circle. he's beloved by his teachers. he doesn't have many friends. all of this to say, there's something comfortable about being in a place where you're accepted. doesn't mean it's a 'cherished' thing but these people have known you your whole life. they won't question your weird habits. they will notice when you're gone.
when you finally set foot in the real world, people won't be as accepting. they will question you. they don't know you. they don't know why you're the way you are, and they don't want to deal with it. you have to either accept that or try to learn how to be normal in a whole new way, especially if you want to be a grey warden, if you want to help people.

wynne: "it is a grey warden's duty to serve man as a protector and throw themselves at the blight for the safety of all those around them. it is their duty to sacrafice their life for the greater good."
my tabris: "wow. i sure hope this doesn't encourage any extremely unhealthy behaviors in me going forward."
aka just finished the circle quest on my dao replay, time to be so normal about it

4 and 19 for the hype questions?
WORLD STATE WORLD STATE
I think my world state (at least for my first game) is probably gonna be my canon worldstate aka
Guinevere Amell; Hero of Ferelden
Romanced Leliana, mage, survived the Fifth Blight, let the architect live
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aiden Hawke; champion of Kirkwall
Revolutionary, rogue, romanced Anders, sided with the Mages and let Anders live
Tumblr media Tumblr media
DeLila Cadash; The Herald of Andraste
Sword and shield warrior, romanced Sera, sided with the mages, drank from the well
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As far as question 19 goes - I will DEFO be replaying hopefully all three games (I've started with inquisition and Amelia Trevelyan but I wanna replay DAO and DA2 as well).
As far as expanded universe goes, I'm gonna reread Tevinter nights, and the novels I haven't read yet. Probably won't reread the comics? But we'll see I wouldn't put it past me. I'm also gonna read through World of Thedas Volume 2 (I v recently read through all of vol 1 cover to cover so I'll probably just dip in and out of that one)
And I'm gonna make my flatmate watch absolution with me haha

once I can make myself finish Kingmaker so I can start a Kingmaker replay I’m going to be so annoying about it because it does take me a replay or two to fully grasp a story and its characters and as much as I’m enjoying playing Kingmaker like I did DAO (aka, I hate it here get me out), the characters are soo compelling and I’m in love with it (also like with DAO).

can yall help me w smth. it’s a very annoying problem btw
i wanted to start a canon replay after the new year but now that I’ve put alani w merrill i would feel weird romancing solas w alani again. but i would also feel weird playing as her & NOT romancing solas, esp bc of the 125k fanfic i wrote for them while i played thru inq w alani the first time. lol
since pleione romances solas i could continue w her worldstate, but i have terminal “can’t play the games out of order” disease & am also struggling to continue dao as oisín (aka i have only played thru the battle of ostagar haven’t touched it since june) bc it makes me sad to think that my canon romanced characters are just all alone without my wardens & hawkes in this worldstate (which ik is kind of unhinged of me. it’s fine)
hypothetically i could force myself to start w inq but since i’ve played that one the most i get burnt out if i don’t play the others first. also i really want alistair & morg & kieran all in skyhold at the same time bc i’ve never done that n if i start inq w the generic worldstate i get stroud. lmfao this is SO ANNOYING of me but idk what to do 😔

like look okay, I kind of get it. like obviously I wasn't expecting to find out like, a ring I returned to an NPC in a DAO sidequest to be an important plot point 4 games later or anything. I understand that moving events to another area of the world we haven't seen in the previous games yet gives us a bit of a "blank slate" as they keep putting it but like...
As others have pointed out, you've got returning characters! Morrigan is there, and as a character she is a completely different woman depending on whether or not Kieran is born and how your Hero Of Ferelden interacted with her. (sure her son would be grown up now, but I think it's an important factor to consider??) Not to mention that The Inquisitor is also there. Either them or Morrigan can optionally drink from the Well Of Sorrows and be "bound forever to the will of Mythal", aka Flemeth aka a wisp of an elven god's soul (potentially embodied by the soul of Urthemiel the Archdemon/whatever elven God that used to be) whose powers/essence Solas absorbed in DAI's post-credits scene?? I THINK THAT SHOULD HAVE SOME PRETTY DEEP CONSEQUENCES GIVEN YOU KNOW, THE RETURN OF THE OTHER ELVEN GODS AND SOLAS BEING SUCH A "CENTRAL CHARACTER" OR WHATEVER. (and if none of these matter, exactly WHAT did they do to my babygirl? [fearful])
Varric is there for gods sake, and Lace Harding. like, neither of them has anything to say about what they've been through, the ripples that have affected their lives up til the time of DAtV?? Really? well.... we might already know why varric doesn't have much to say 😬😬😬
You can select who your inquisitor romanced, yeah that's cool. some of those can play out wildly different if you didn't complete specific quest targets. Like Iron Bull potentially fucking dying by your hands if you ally with the Qunari Fleets instead of turning him Tal-Vashoth. (he's alive and well and happily in love with my Inquisitor Lavellan in my 1st timeline, but I digress.) Given that the Qunari will be a more major antagonist faction in this game you'd think that choice would maybe be impactful! or whatever!!!)
And the whole you know. Inquisition's possible alliance with or exile of the Grey Wardens of Orlais thing MIGHT be at least a codex-able entry? Given the whole visiting Weisshaupt Fortress thing, their fucking HQ yknow
like. I wasn't expecting to see Hawke/their warden ally drop out of the Fade or anything crazy, and I definitely don't want to encourage the opposite extreme "Marvel-ization Phenomenon" where everything is just reduced to cheap layers of references and nostalgia folded over on itself ad nauseam, but I like it when there's little ripples of what came before.
That's like a major part of what has kept me interested in the series, little nods to the impacts you/your characters choices had. I would understand if this game was separated from the rest of the series by oh let's say 600 years of time-space travel to another galaxy (MEA my beloved). But it's literally just a little bit to the north. they haven't even left the continent, only a little over a decade has passed in-game.
I really don't wanna sound like a whiner, because I am genuinely excited for this game, but to me that "dynamic" changing aspect is part of what makes these games come alive, and it adds so much replay-ability too; being able to witness how your characters' actions ripple outwards, even in minimal ways, even as the main focus of the story changes with each game.
So idk, if only 3 Choices in the last game's DLC actually "mattered" in the buildup to all of this, I think even as much as I might enjoy the game, it will just feel a little bit flat and disconnected to me, no matter how much "impact" Rook has on their individual self-contained narrative.
In a game series where "choices matter", this decision just feels... tone-deaf
well I guess maybe I should take matters into my own hands and do that "previously on Dragon Age"/"The Road So Far" video I kinda wanted to make after all, SINCE APPARENTLY BIOWARE ISN'T BOTHERING TO ACKNOWLEDGE ANY OF THAT SHIT! UGH!

ok here's a question for the people. when playing dragon age how do you determine which party members you take out on quests? is it your favorite characters? your PC's best friends? is it who you most want to see react to any given quest? do you pick based on optimal party composition for fights? do you drag your LI everywhere even if it's the least optimal possible choice?
#for me it's 100% who I want to see react to any given quest at any given time#and 0% party comp bc I don't care for DA's combat and keep the difficulty turned down#the exception is DA2 where until I've maxed everyone's approval/rivalry the main factor is what sort of approval bumps I think I'll get#and which characters are most in need of those particular boosts#but sometimes it just doesn't matter so you kind of have a default party you know?#when I played DAO for the first time with sulina my default party was zevran + leliana + alistair aka three rogues and poor alistair#which was an objectively terrible idea but I didn't know what I was doing and also didn't care#they were the ones who flirted with me sooooo~#playing DA2 for the first time with tabitha the default party was usually isabela (LI) + bethany/merrill + 1#playing DAI for the first time with shirae the main party ended up being solas + varric + bull just bc she got SO goddamn tired of#being surrounded by humans and andrastians all the time#if I ever get around to replaying DAI with kataara the default party will def be viv + bull + sera aka family roadtrip#with the wife + bf + daughter in law#like for example idr exactly who I took to adamant with shirae but I think it was *probably* blackwall + varric + solas#but I've since heard that cole has really great reactions in the fade so I'd like to take him to adamant sometime#but on kat's pt I probably WILL stick with sera + bull + viv on that one bc family roadtrip in the fade sounds awful and they'll all hate it#it'll be great#but yeah I generally rotate party members out constantly#take them out for some exercise and enrichment#let them stretch their legs a little#it's just responsible care you know

ok i’m checking out konglongmandarin.com and its definitely worth checking out their articles on how to study, and some of their lessons if nothing else than to view the structure. There’s a lot of really good advice here in how to utilize any material to work on improving chinese.
A lot of this advice I could easily apply to the novels I read in Pleco - shadowing, trying to read aloud, replaying snippets, looking up words then re-reading or re-listening, trying to say example sentences with substitution (different verbs, nouns, etc to practice using a sentence structure), roleplaying. A lot of really practical advice and activities for working on speaking and listening skills. I could also apply a lot of these steps pretty easily to any drama of your choice on Viki that has ‘language learner mode’ on or when using “Learn Languages with Netflix’ extension.
And if you just wanted to mainly focus on speaking/listening skills, and new most of the words, you could apply a lot of these activities to materials without needing any dictionary lookup (like what Pleco has, Viki has etc) - you could just use it for any chinese material you have.
Konglong Mandarin how to guide: https://www.konglongmandarin.com/guides/
3 Effective methods to practice speaking chinese alone: https://www.konglongmandarin.com/methods-to-practice-speaking-chinese-alone/
Speech shadowing: https://www.konglongmandarin.com/speech-shadowing-chinese-peppa-pig/
Rhythm of spoken mandarin: https://www.konglongmandarin.com/rhythm-of-spoken-mandarin-chinese-how-to-sound-like-a-chinese-native-speaker/ (I’m still reading this article but just things i’ve seen from other sources - grouping hanzi by ‘word segments’ when you speak instead of by individual hanzi tends to be more understandable based on some sources... aka saying “ni zhidao zhege wenti ma,” versus “ni zhi dao zhe ge wen ti ma” or worse “nizhi daozhe gewen tima” ... i’m not sure yet if this article covers that but i’ve seen articles mention it before? i’m not sure if the actual kind of ‘flow of a chinese sentence’ is a bit more different, so i can’t say for that article’s advice how helpful it might have been... i still need to learn much more. also with japanese while it does have sort of a ‘monotonous’ sound like this article is using as comparison, usually grouping particles with the word they’re attached to - said sort of like the same word - makes sentences sound less disjointed... though that’s just something i personally did as a beginner in japanese to stop sounding quite so awful and broken up, so no idea if its also not really the right thing to do lol. Anyway to the Point - i think Konglongmandarin’s advice on these basics for chinese sentence flow are helpful).
Some notes on er usage: https://www.konglongmandarin.com/use-er-in-chinese-words-erhua-rules/
Third tone change notes: https://www.konglongmandarin.com/third-tone-change-in-spoken-mandarin-chinese/ (I could always use more explanation about this tbh)

Oh, my heart.
As I’ve mentioned before, Dragon Age Inquisition was my introductory game to the world of Thedas. I can honestly say that if I had started with Dragon Age Origins I would’ve been much less likely to play the other games, but it’s not for the reason you think.
It’s my own fault.
((For the quick version just read the last two paragraphs)).
My first playthrough of Origins I was a female elven mage, (aka - my usual). I romance males, & being that Alistair is the only male romance option for what felt like most of the game at the time, I naturally chose him as my LI. Then Zevran finally entered the picture & I flirted with him because it seemed harmless enough until I read online that you gain high disapproval if you flirt for a lengthy period of time before confirming who your one LI is.
So I told Zev that maybe he’s getting the wrong idea. Got that disapproval knockdown, which I managed to bring back up later, but then all our conversations were the “friendly”/”non-flirty” options. Ok.
Then came the time to make Alistair king. I knew from Inquisition the repercussions of letting him stay with the Wardens, so to save his own skin, (because I knew I wasn’t sacrificing my Hawke although I was yet to play DA2 at the time), I had to make him king. I’m also strongly against “hardening” characters, so I didn’t choose that one specific dialogue choice after meeting Goldanna. I pronounce him king and then....
Wait, you can’t marry an elf? We literally had this conversation when we first started dating! I asked if it would be a problem & you said no! Sooooo... where does that leave me? Oh, now you’re only using the “friendly” dialogue options. Great. Guess that’s that. Fine. Well.... if one of us has to die to kill this Archdemon it might as well be me since you gotta rule Thedas. Saving your skin again.
Then Morrigan. I wanted to like her, I really really did! But when push comes to shove & you announce that Flemeth only saved the two of us so you could make an old-god baby, I’m confused. Why would your mother save a female? I can’t produce an old-god baby, (or maybe I can, but you didn’t give me the option). Meaning, the only reason Flemeth saved me was so I could romance Alistair & have an emotional connection to him so you could use that as leverage to get me to agree to you not only sleeping with my man, (excuse me, “ex”-man), but to product an heir with him, which according to Grey Warden facts, I cannot?! That’s really awful, Morrigan! So no! I’m going to die to save Thedas from this Blight & you can go away empty-handed you deceiver! I wanted to be frieeendss!
“You know how I feel about you. I won’t let you die. Not while I can do something about it...”
Wait, Alistair wont let me kill the archdemon?! He dies anyway?!
Zevrannnn! I’m so mad at everything! Are you at all interested in me? ... Oh, we’re now stuck as “just friends” even though I would’ve dated you from the start had I known you were gonna show up! ... I have made some poor decisions.
In summary, because I romanced Alistair as an elf in DAO, the end of my Warden’s story was completely maddening & unfruitful to me, so if that’s what I had come to expect from the Dragon Age games, I probably wouldn’t have continued playing them. (For the record, I replayed as a female elven rogue, romanced Zevran, & suddenly Alistair seemed like such an ungrateful crybaby, so he made that old-god baby, became king, & I got to continue being epic with Zevran!)
All of that to say - With Dragon Age 4 officially announced, & many many MANY hints at the Solavellan romance ending in utter & complete heartbreak... I’m fearful. I know real life isn’t always “happily ever after”, but that’s why we watch movies, play games, & read books; to experience the happy endings! Having romanced Mass Effect’s Thane as well, gosh am I suffering at the thought of my Lavellan fighting so hard, staying so strong, only to have something entirely awful happen - like a red-lyrium-corrupted Solas going mad, Lavellan never actually being a part of the next game so she simply never sees Solas again, or the unavoidable slaying of her love either by herself or by another (because the game wont progress until you do). Please let there be some way, any way at all, that a Solavellan romance can end without tragedy! Just please!

We're off to a good start.
I successfully recreated My Boy (aka Kaide), then promptly had to start over because I forgot to put subtitles on and my audio processing disorder ass isn't here for that
Also it apparently imported my save world state from the Keep, which was last updated by me in like. 2015? So I'm not sure what the world state actually is but I made pretty consistent choices in all my DAO and DA2 playthroughs and replays, so chances are Loghain killed the archdemon and Hawke ran away with Anders.
Let's go I guess? lol
I blame @anneapocalypse for the fact that i just hunted down and dusted off my copy of Inquisition
i literally haven't played it since before trespasser came out

I am SO mad!!! I was replaying DAO and decided to romance Morrigan and wanted Alistair to remain in the Wardens so he and my hero can be best buds so he and Morrigan can bond over worrying about my dumbass HoF in Inquistion but what does this lovable idiot do when it comes to the landsmeet??? HE DECIDES TO BE KING!! Even tho I TOLD HIM I WAS SUPPORTING ANORA!! Then he gets mad at me like I made him become king! ALISTAIR WHY MUST YOU RUIN MY PLANS
Oh, Alistair, you noble idiot.
I think this means you hardened him? So the side quest with his sister. At least I *think* so? It’s been a while since I played DAO.
But I feel your pain, it’s great when you plug in all those hours only for the mechanics to bite you in the ass! AKA my entire time playing DA2 with trying to stay on everyone’s good side :[

As a DA player, what is your ideal "'canon'" run? mine is dwarf rogue in DA, human (since it's required) warrior in DA1, and elven mage to cover all the bases (aka all that is available and playable) in DA3. I am scared for DA4 tho, and for the Qnari in general- your p.o.v. on this?
Ahh heya!! :D
Oooh that sounds like a nice run actually :O I still need to try the dwarven origins in dao, must be so amazing!!
As for my personal canon run ahah the issue is that I have kind of multiple gameplays and i actually love all my characters very very much, so it’s hard to point out an actual timeline.
My official timeline, as in, the one that I completed from dao to dai, was with a Rogue City Elf in dao, a Rogue Green!Hawke in da2, and a Circle Mage Human in dai. This is what i involved myself the most into.
I have a run with, for dao, a Human Circle Mage, and of a Warrior Dalish Elf (I also recently started a run of a Mage Dalish Elf because mods are fantastic that way and it’s magnificent).
I admit that in  in general I much prefer playing elves, the only reason i’m playing the Human Circle Mage in dao instead of the Elven is that I want to see the reactions in da2, since they’re Hawke’s cousin, so it’s brought up.
For da2, I only ever played as Rogue so far because I love playing a Rogue in that game. It’s super dynamic and it’s something i really love. But I need to do a playthrough with a Mage!Hawke.
For dai, while i’m extremely attached to my Human Circle Mage (i thought it’d be interesting within the context of the game, at least until the elven elements took my heart away), I love playing my current Dalish Mage playthrough, i find it even more engaging as one.
(for the record: i played my first dai playthrough with Rogue City Elf/Rogue Green!Hawke/Human Mage, my second playthrough with Human Mage/Rogue Green!Hawke/Human Mage, and my third current one with my Warrior Dalish Elf/Mage Purple!Hawke/Dalish Mage)
I think when da4 will come i’ll use my Rogue!City Elf/Rogue!Hawke/Dalish Mage timeline, but i’ll see when it’ll come by. I’ll probably replay and mess around with the timelines.Kinda thinking about trying it with a Mage!Hawke timeline too.
For da4 i at least hope some background will be available again, but i’ll likely pick Mage and if different origins backgrounds, definitly picking Elf again.
as for Da4… i’ll put it under the cut because mix of long and spoilers ahah ^^’
Take care and thanks for the ask ;O
About da4, I am so scared aha ah ah aha. I have a lot of questions that i’ve been poundering for a while and a lot of details here and there that I wish would be addressed soon.
For now, what’s for certain, is that the Tevinter’s stuff are going to be h e a v y. Just hearing Dorian mentions the issues with the Archon and the Black Divine (a guy who murdered someone in a party for exemple, Orlaisian Game whomst), and the current reforms in the Magisterium and its corruption, things are going to be tense. And of course th general socio-hierarchy (slavery and all of that) and the Magical Situation are going to be a tough thing to witness first hand.
And there’s the Qunari stuff. That’s. Going to be terrible. I’m just extremely worried that they use this opportunity to bring back Sten, I don’t want to fight Sten please. (hell they may even bring back Tallis due to the notes we see in Trespasser and :) i don’t :) wanna :) ) (but apparently also about Tallis, there is a webserie i didn’t watch yet about her which kinda involve her in the Fen’Harel subplot, so i fear she’s may be brought back or at least mentioned again- it’s supposition of course but if it happens i’m really worried where that could go).
For all it’s worth tho the Qunari are starting their invasion against Tevinter again and the Inside Political Situation of Tevinter is unstable, adding to the already fucked up system in Tevinter- it’s going to be a mess. And tbh, the “fucked up system in Tevinter” will likely serve as fold for people running away from it to the Qun and… ye things may get tense. (and, again with the Fen’Harel subplot knowing how much he hates the Qun’s “form of slavery” we’re gonna have fun if the third party get involved there.)
As for how they’ll handle the Qun… I doubt it’ll be all black and white but after the extreme we could see in da2 and Trespasser, there’s some reasons to worry, especially in the land of unchecked magic abuses. I will not go too far ahead of myself there but… ye that’s gonna be tense.
As I mentioned the Fen’Harel subplot will obviously be brought back again and in a setting like Tevinter, this could bring a total mess, like i mentioned. Fen’Harel would oppose to both Tevinter and the Qunari when we think about it, so this is… not… gonna be good….
I think also that after the Descent and Trespasser the Titans will eventually be brought back again at least for lore purpose in the plot - and while i can’t throw away suppositions I’m still letting that one… up in the air.
I also wonder if the political stuff will stop at Tevinter or if we’ll at least mention Par Vollen’s warzone (opportunity to bring up the Ash Warriors?) or the weird events mentioned that happens at Weisshaupts (come back of the Wardens?). Also, more a bonus, we also know that Nevarra’s king is getting old, and i’m still suspicious about how it would eventually be brought up, especially since 1) Nevarra and Tevinter are in such a bad political state the inquisitor had to pick one to “support” in dai at some points, 2) The Red Jenny quest that is taken into account in the Tapestry of getting a Jenny contact in Tevinter or Tatenvelle. Wonders if that will bring anywhere. But those are… mostly wishful thinking.
I have multiple fears also- but two things actually:
1- The Games’s conflict so far were never what we really expected in the previous one. I really wonder what will make the new MC be “chosen” to be followed by the plot (and likely with the Inquisition’s support if we carry through with the idea of the last scene of the game.) Like, last game had a whole “there’s a hole in the sky” thing as a pretext to help us fix everything else. For now we’re hinted that we’ll need someone who will be able to counter Solas’s plans. But the thing that will set it all in motions could be another issue all together and will likely affect the plot in some ways.
2- The Blight. The Blight is the main enemy of every game when you think about it (The Fifth Blight in dao, the Red Lyrium causing a lot of the issues in da2, and Corypheus’s use of the Taint the whole time in dai and especially the whole Realm of the Nightmare in HLTA - not to mention if involving the DLCs all game deals with the Magister Darkspawns and that codexs hint that more Magisters are awake with consciousness (at least 3 of them for sure).)
There is also every single cryptic dialogue Solas make about the Taint/Blight/Archdemon but i could ramble for hours on that and enter theories territories, and i think i would raise up my hope too high if i took those theories any seriously aha. But if those are true it would also link the Taint back to the Ancient Elves and/or Titans and/or Forgotten Ones (and we have a freaking Forgotten One letter in Jaw of Hakkon aside from more mention in the plot, so…. I… have questions…) and all we’ve learnt so far.
-> POINT IS between Tevinter being the cradle of the human civilization as we know it, the place were the Taint started to spread, and the possibility of what Solas’s knowledge on the Taint would imply, In a place where Every Game had the Taint as a main enemy? Things are going to be ugly. (I just kinda hope they touch on a bit on where humans came from before the Veil happened because I have…… questions, and if there’s any place to answer that it will be Tevinter. Also same for the Qunari because theories only carry you so far.)
And I have so much more worries and such but I don’t even know how to start touching it (for exemple: every game has a Forbidden One as an enemy, and the Forbidden Ones are supposed to be the ones to have taught Blood Magic to humans. + the mentions of them in Trespasser linking them to the Ancient Elves. Sooo will we see one of them again, in the land famous for its blood magic uses? Please i’m begging for actual more infos about them tho bc i’ve been overthinking them and the Forgotten Ones for months now-)
I…. legit tell myself “I need da4 please” every day since i finished dai, and even louder everytime i read a codex that fucks my mind up and make me be litterally like this over multiple codex:
Tumblr media
I’m trying not to raise my hopes too high and focus on what infos we have for now, but….. man da4 is ready to have a Huge Mess Going On and that’s going to be a disaster and i’m all ready for it.
…. idk if that’s what you wanted to know kdjhfjdk but this is more or less my direct thoughts right now.
Thank u for listening to my rambling you’re sweet :3
Take care and i wish you well!

I was tagged by @princessvicky01 Thanks for the tag!
Here are her questions
1) What was your first pet? If you’ve never had one is their one you would like? My Mother got a dachshund when I was about 5 her name was Gretchen she was our first collective pet. Years later I got a German Shepherd Collie mix I named Belle, do the french word not the Beauty and the Beast character.
2) If you could only replay one game forever, what game would it be? Probably DAI or DAO I tend to play DAO more.
3) What was/is your favourite subject at school? Why? History, I just loved everything about it. Learning what people did, how they reacted what happened. Sadly the US doesn’t have as much history as Europe and I missed out on taking European history when I moved from NC to AZ
4) Do you prefer to be too hot or too cold? Too cold, I can always put on more clothes, you can only get so nekkid
5) Do you have any hobbies? If not is there any you want to try? I crochet, knit, read, draw, make 3D/cgi art and I toy with mods for my DAO
6) Whats your favourite restaurant/eat out food - Italian, Chinese, Mexican ect Steak...like a good steak so Texas Roadhouse here but in Memphis my favorite was The Butcher Shop (yes, that’s a restaurant and a nice one) Ruth’s Chris was disappointing so I only went there once.
7) Mages or Templars? Why? Mages, but because the mages are an oppressed group of people who should at least be given the chance to prove they’re not what the Chantry claims.
8) Favourite film/movie genre? Horror, but like GOOD Horror not that stupid crap like Scream. I LOVED the SAW movies, and I really like Babadook lol. I like Horror movies that make you think. I’m not about the jump scare thing. I also really liked the first Hostel movie, after that they kinda went to shit.

Solena Surana
--aka Mouse!Surana
–This Deal Is Totally A Good Idea And Nothing Could Possibly Go Wrong I Don’t Know What You’re Talking About
(It actually works out pretty well so I mean she’s not wrong)
--Primal & Spirit Spells
--Most of the Primal comes from Mouse, most of the Spirit from Solena? Except it's more complicated than that and after a while the line starts to blur
--Learns the Shapeshifter spec b/c Mouse missed changing forms
--Easily my fave OC tbh
–One day I will replay DAO and flood your dash with fic, but as it is I can barely remember anything past Ostagar so. yeah :/
--I'm pretty sure Mouse develops a crush on Morrigan at some point but Solena's only love is History
--I'm also pretty sure the Companions all find out during Broken Circle and then All Hell Breaks Loose

–Also I have given it exactly zero thoughts so far, but her relationship with Anders, both pre- and post-DA2, is going to be. Interesting.
--I headcanon the whole possession thing to be basically. A constant conversation between the two? They're both in control, so they need to constantly check/negotiate what they're doing with each other basically
(this was not at all inspired by steven universe meta idk what you're talking about)
--It's a pretty easy alliance and for the most part their goals are aligned, but there're still a few times where they fall out of sync and it never ends well
--It happens once before the Joining (Mouse just goes 'NOPE', meanwhile Solena is 200% into it)
(Mouse probably really regrets making that deal tbh)
--It happens once before the final battle (Solena is perfectly fine with dying in a blaze of glory especially when the alternative is a slow anonymous death; Mouse is Not)
--After the Blight, they absolutely become Ferelden's magical advisor
