One thing I absolutely love in games, especially RPG's, is there being one guy who Definitely Should Be The Main Character but because the player character is there, he's playing sidekick.

Like, the best example is Alistair in Dragon Age Origins, what with him being the true king, half human and half elf, has dragon blood and Darkspawn blood knocking around in his veins. Dude oozes Main Character energy but NOPE, the player character is here and Alistair is playing second fiddle.

There's also Parvati in The Outer Worlds. She's got all the makings of a main character, plucky kid from a backwater colony forced into the role of galactic hero, but she's the sidekick because she's not the palyer character.

Like, its so funny. Its like those old (Y/N) fanfics where the main character is supplanted by this foreign parasite. Its just so endlessly funny to me.

It's been over 20 years since the Fifth Blight, and much has happened in that time.

How has your Warden fared through all these years? Have they gone to their calling, or do you think they found a cure in the end? Are they living their happily ever after somewhere, whatever that entails?

Oh, my Schrodinger's Warden, kept in a semi quantum state of existence while I hold on to the ever fading hope that Bioware will throw us another (meatier) bone in a future DA installment...

I don't feel like she's reached her ending yet, happy or not. Right now, I'm imagining that while a cure eluded her, she did find means of postponing the Calling. Ever the reluctant warden, I think she and Alistair go off the radar after Inquisition and settle down quietly in the Free Marches somewhere. It's a small, bittersweet life, but they make what they can of it.

With the events of Veilguard, they wouldn't obey the First Warden's call to return to Weisshaupt, but they would take up arms again to fight the blight in their community. I would like to imagine, for dramatic effect, that even Isadaia's means of postponement is starting to fail before the gods break out-- but maybe, hopefully, Solas's atonement will bring relief.

Even in the worldstate where I keep alistair a warden it still takes him and amihan years to get together, this is a couple years before DAI give or take

It’s always a slow burn for these two and amihan always falls first but alistair falls harder lol 💃🏽

Reaching that bit in inquisition where I have to choose between hawke and the warden(Alistair in my save file) to be honest I'm not worried about it. In my head hawke would find a way to survive and get out on his own while my own warden could get in and save Alistair
