I think arlisell (alani’s brother) would have gone for the potion bc their grandma is the clan’s best healer and he’s been studying under her pretty much since he could do math and read. so he’d feel most comfortable w that approach. plus puberty blockers also in potion form bc he knew he was trans when he was young, prob 9 or 10

maeve I’m having more trouble with. they’re pretty blase about gender and their body in general so I’m not entirely sure what approach they’d take. for her it’s more like “my boobs are barely in the way when I fight bc they’re small but I also like to hold them sometimes just because. and having a deeper voice sounds cool. but shaving my face on a regular basis would be a pain in the ass so I’d rather not” etc. so basically a healthier version of my own feelings abt my body lmao surprise

marlas on the other hand was like juice me up slice my tits off render me infertile I want all this shit OFF and OUT!!! they didn’t figure out the gender stuff til their early/mid 20s, so a few years prior to the start of veilguard. but once they knew they were researching spells and making plans with the clan healers like no tomorrow. so a combo of spell + top surgery + whatever is comparable in thedas to a hysterectomy. begone!!!

des (non warden amell) is a blood mage and spirit healer, plus they knew since they were a kid that the whole gender thing wasn’t really their style ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ so xe tweaked xemself here and there over the years as xe saw fit. she’s also just kind of a spindly bastard anyway so it was mostly tit removal and voice adjustments

rowan (skyhold oc) sorta figured it out as a tween but didn’t have much they could do at the circle I think. they told their friends and romantic/sexual partners but didn’t have access to anything til the circles were disbanded, after which I think they would’ve gone the potion or alchemy approach. didn’t want to fuck up the spell themself and didn’t have anyone close to them they trusted not to fuck it up either (sorry hollis lol)

elwen (skyhold oc) went whole shebang right out the gate, around age 30. the second she was like “wait. marlon (skyhold oc) (just now realizing similarity to the name marlas. sorry to both of them. lmao) went alchemy route bc that was the safest and the most accessible for them! only started about a year prior to joining the inquisition and was very stoked to find out the alchemists at skyhold have access to the good shit at little to no cost since he’s a worker for the inquisition. rare healthcare W under the chantry’s nose
