Lactic Acid – Suitable for dry and sensitive skin. It gently exfoliates while providing hydration, making it great for dullness and rough texture without irritation.
Mandelic Acid – Best for sensitive and acne-prone skin. It helps with uneven skin tone, reduces breakouts, and provides mild exfoliation without irritation.
Azelaic Acid – Works for all skin types, including sensitive skin. It reduces redness, fades hyperpigmentation, treats acne, and calms rosacea.
Kojic Acid – Best for hyperpigmented and sun-damaged skin. It helps lighten dark spots, melasma, and discoloration caused by acne scars or sun exposure.
Tranexamic Acid – Ideal for all skin types struggling with stubborn pigmentation. It effectively reduces melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), and sunspots.
Hyaluronic Acid – Suitable for all skin types, especially dry and dehydrated skin. It deeply hydrates, plumps fine lines, and retains moisture for a youthful look.
Polyglutamic Acid – Great for dry and dehydrated skin. It locks in moisture, provides long-lasting hydration, and enhances the skin’s elasticity.

Ellagic Acid – Good for sun-damaged and aging skin. It protects against UV damage, brightens skin, and provides antioxidant benefits.
Cinnamic Acid – Suitable for all skin types. It has anti-inflammatory properties and helps protect against environmental damage.
Succinic Acid – Best for oily and acne-prone skin. It controls sebum production, fights acne-causing bacteria, and soothes inflammation.
How to choose the right skincare acid for ur skin type
Oily & Acne-Prone Skin
Salicylic Acid (BHA): Penetrates deep into pores to remove excess oil and prevent breakouts.
Azelaic Acid: Reduces acne, fades dark spots, and calms redness.
Succinic Acid: A gentle anti-inflammatory that helps control breakouts.
Dry & Dehydrated Skin
Lactic Acid (AHA): Exfoliates while hydrating the skin.
Hyaluronic Acid: Retains moisture and plumps the skin.
Mandelic Acid: A mild exfoliant that improves texture without drying.
Combination Skin
Glycolic Acid (AHA): Brightens skin and smooths texture.
Salicylic Acid (BHA) (my bff🦅) : Controls oil production in the T-zone.
Hyaluronic Acid: Hydrates dry areas while balancing oil.
Sensitive Skin
Mandelic Acid: A gentle AHA that exfoliates with minimal irritation.
Azelaic Acid: Soothes inflammation and reduces redness.
PHA (Polyhydroxy Acids): Provides mild exfoliation while boosting hydration.
Hyperpigmentation & Dark Spots
Kojic Acid: Brightens skin and reduces discoloration.
Tranexamic Acid: Fades stubborn dark spots and melasma.
Glycolic Acid (AHA): Speeds up cell turnover for an even skin tone.
Aging & Wrinkles
Glycolic Acid (AHA): Stimulates collagen production and smooths fine lines.
Ferulic Acid: Enhances antioxidant protection and stabilizes vitamin C.
Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C): Brightens skin and fights free radical damage.
Common Mistakes When Using Skincare Acids
Using skincare acids can transform your skin, but when used incorrectly, they can cause irritation, sensitivity, or even worsen skin concerns. Here are some common mistakes to avoid:
1. Over-Exfoliating
Many people think using glycolic or salicylic acid daily will give them faster results, but excessive exfoliation weakens the skin barrier. This can lead to redness, peeling, breakouts, and sensitivity. (especially for oily skin)
Solution: Use exfoliating acids (AHAs/BHAs) 2-3 times per week and always listen to your skin. If it feels irritated, take a break pleaaase
2. Skipping Sunscreen
Acids like glycolic, lactic, and salicylic acid increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun. Without SPF, you risk sunburn, premature aging, and even worsening of dark spots.
Solution: Always use a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen daily when using serums with those acids.
3. Mixing the Wrong Acids
Not all acids work well together. Using too many active ingredients in one routine can cause irritation.
🔴 Examples of bad combinations:
Vitamin C + AHAs/BHAs → Can cause irritation and weaken Vitamin C’s effectiveness.
Retinol + AHAs/BHAs → Too harsh on the skin, leading to peeling and sensitivity. (by experience 💁🏻♀️)
Niacinamide + Vitamin C (unless properly formulated) → Can cause flushing or reduce effectiveness.
Solution: Use exfoliating acids on alternate days and simplify your routine to avoid irritation.
4. Not Hydrating Properly
Exfoliating acids remove dead skin cells but can also strip away moisture. Without proper hydration, the skin can feel tight, dry, or irritated.
Solution: After using acids, apply thick a moisturizer to maintain balance especially if the acids dry ur skin so fast

Hey I'm new on your vlog... it's so satisfying inspiring and definitely useful!!
I have a recommendation, if you can make a post about getting rid of natural dark spots or deep hyperpigmentation from knee , inner thighs, underarms, elbow etc places.. like how can I lighten them..any tips or tricks...
Thank you bestie 🩷
𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐫𝐢𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐬 & 𝐡𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐢𝐠𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

(knees, inner thighs, underarms, elbows, etc.)
alright, let’s have a real talk. hyperpigmentation in places like the knees, elbows, inner thighs, and underarms? it sucks. it’s annoying, it makes you self-conscious, and it can straight-up mess with your confidence. i know this because i have it too.
i won’t lie i avoid wearing shorts sometimes because of my dark knees. i used to feel weird about wearing sleeveless tops because of my underarms. it’s one of those things that makes you hyper-aware of your body in a way that’s exhausting. and what makes it even worse? nobody really talks about it.
so i get it. i see you. and i took my time answering this because i wanted to make sure you have everything you need to know to actually fix this problem. because i don’t want you to waste time on things that don’t work or damage your skin further.
this is gonna be long, but if you want to finally get rid of dark spots, keep reading.
why does hyperpigmentation happen in these areas?
before we get into the fix, let’s talk about why it happens in the first place.
1. friction & irritation → tight clothes, constant rubbing, and even things like sitting on your knees or crossing your legs can cause darkness.
2. dead skin buildup → these areas don’t shed dead skin as easily, making them look darker over time.
3. hormonal changes → pregnancy, pcos, and other hormonal issues can lead to increased pigmentation.
4. shaving & ingrown hairs → shaving causes micro-cuts and irritation, making the skin react by darkening.
5. lack of moisture → dry skin doesn’t renew itself well, so old, pigmented skin sticks around.
6. not using sunscreen → uv rays darken existing pigmentation.
7. genetics & melanin production → some of us are just more prone to it.
(first things first i want to stress on the fact that you need to visit a dermatologist too for this concern they will be able to guide you through it more efficiently, even i am consulting a dermatologist for my skin problems)

these are some products i use to get rid my my hyperpigmentation (the last two are prescribed products by my dermatologist) so do consult a dermatologist too pookie
so if you have dark knees, elbows, underarms, or inner thighs, it’s not because you’re dirty. it’s just how skin works. and now, let’s talk about how to fix it.
step 1: exfoliate to remove dead skin (but gently)
dark skin is often just dead skin buildup, so exfoliation is step one. but don’t go crazy scrubbing—that can actually make it worse.
physical exfoliation (1-2x a week)
this helps buff away dead skin, but it needs to be gentle:
• dry brushing before showering (use a soft brush, nothing too rough).
• sugar + honey scrub, coffee scrub (any kind of scrub is alright. salt, sugar whatever)
• soft loofah or african net
chemical exfoliation (2-3x a week, nighttime only)
chemical exfoliants dissolve dead skin without harsh scrubbing, which is way better:
• glycolic acid (aha) → removes dead skin & boosts cell turnover. (i use this)
• lactic acid (aha) → more hydrating, great for sensitive skin.
• salicylic acid (bha) → unclogs pores & helps with ingrown hairs.
do this consistently, and you’ll start seeing your skin tone even out.
step 2: use brightening ingredients that actually work
exfoliating preps the skin, but you need active ingredients to fade dark spots. these work over time, not overnight, so patience is key.
• vitamin c → brightens & evens skin tone.
• kojic acid → one of the most powerful skin-lightening ingredients. (i use this)
• niacinamide → reduces dark spots & strengthens the skin barrier. (i use this)
• alpha arbutin → gently lightens pigmentation without irritation.
• licorice root extract → naturally fades hyperpigmentation.
obviously i don’t use all of these on daily basis and i won’t recommend you guys to use all of em either im just giving yall options
step 3: deep hydration & moisture = less hyperpigmentation
moisturizing is not optional. dry skin holds onto dark spots longer.
you can use any literally any sort of lotions and oils
step 4: stop shaving (or at least do it right)
shaving causes micro-tears in the skin, leading to more darkness. if possible, switch to:
• waxing → removes hair from the root, causing less irritation.
• laser hair removal → a permanent fix for darkened underarms & bikini lines.
if you must shave:
• use a sharp razor.
• shave with the direction of hair growth.
• apply aloe vera after shaving to prevent irritation.
step 5: sunscreen. every. single. day.
most people don’t realize that uv exposure makes dark spots worse. even if the area isn’t exposed to direct sunlight, uv rays still reach it.
• use spf 30+ daily on your knees, elbows, and other prone areas.
(yall there’s this brand in india m caffeine and they launched a 50+ spf omg imma buy and let yall know)

when i buy these products i’ll let you guys know how good or bad it was.
how long does it take to see results?
• 4-8 weeks for mild hyperpigmentation.
• 3-6 months for deeper pigmentation.
• consistency is everything—this is a marathon, not a sprint.
things to avoid (they make it worse!):
lemon juice or baking soda → too harsh, can burn your skin.
scrubbing aggressively → irritation = more pigmentation.
skipping moisturizer → dry skin clings to dark spots.
tight clothing → friction makes hyperpigmentation worse.
(so exfoliating -> hydrating -> protecting)
listen, i know how annoying this is. i’m literally dealing with it too. but what i’ve learned is that it’s not just about getting rid of dark spots—it’s about being kind to your skin while working to improve it.
you are not dirty, not unworthy, not less beautiful because of this. but if you want to fix it, you can. and you will. just stay consistent, be patient, and take care of your skin with love.
we’re in this together, okay? if you have any questions, drop them below. sending you love & clear skin vibes. 💕🍀

Skincare Acids: A Guide to Healthy Skin
In the world of skincare, various acids play a pivotal role in promoting healthier and more radiant skin. These acids are used in products like serums, cleansers, and exfoliants. Let's explore a few of the most popular ones:
1. Hyaluronic Acid (HA):
Known for its powerful hydrating properties, hyaluronic acid can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water. It helps the skin retain moisture, leaving it plump and supple.
2. Glycolic Acid:
A type of alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), glycolic acid is excellent for exfoliating the skin. It removes dead skin cells, unclogs pores, and can improve the appearance of fine lines and hyperpigmentation.
3. Salicylic Acid:
This beta hydroxy acid (BHA) is effective for treating acne and oily skin. It penetrates pores, exfoliates the inside of the follicles, and helps reduce inflammation.
4. Lactic Acid:
Another AHA, lactic acid is gentler than glycolic acid. It provides mild exfoliation, making it suitable for sensitive skin. It can improve texture and hydration.
5. Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid):
Although not a traditional acid, vitamin C is essential for brightening the skin, reducing hyperpigmentation, and protecting against free radicals. It promotes collagen production.
6. Retinoic Acid (Retin-A):
A derivative of vitamin A, retinoic acid is known for its anti-aging properties. It can improve fine lines, wrinkles, and skin texture. It may cause some initial irritation.
7. Azelaic Acid:
Effective for treating rosacea and acne, azelaic acid has anti-inflammatory and exfoliating properties. It can help reduce redness and hyperpigmentation.
8. Kojic Acid:
Often used in products designed to lighten skin, kojic acid can help fade dark spots and even out skin tone. It's a milder alternative to hydroquinone.
9. Ferulic Acid:
Often combined with vitamin C and vitamin E, ferulic acid has antioxidant properties that enhance the stability and effectiveness of other ingredients.
10. Mandelic Acid:
A gentler AHA, mandelic acid is suitable for sensitive skin. It can improve skin texture, reduce fine lines, and help with acne.
When incorporating acids into your skincare routine, it's essential to start slowly, use sunscreen daily, and consider your skin type and concerns. Consulting with a dermatologist or skincare professional can help you choose the right acids for your specific needs and ensure a safe and effective regimen. Remember that individual reactions may vary, so patch testing is a good practice when trying new products.

"Delving Deeper into Glutathione: The Biochemistry Behind its Protective Powers"
Hello, Tumblr community! 🌿 Today, let's embark on an intellectual journey into the intricate world of Glutathione, a molecular marvel with profound implications for your body's defense mechanisms and overall vitality. 🧬
The Biochemical Symphony of Glutathione:
Glutathione, abbreviated as GSH, is a low-molecular-weight tripeptide comprised of three amino acids – cysteine, glutamic acid, and glycine. Its presence is pervasive, with significant concentrations found within virtually every cell of your body. At its core, GSH serves as a central hub for a variety of biochemical reactions, many of which are critical for maintaining cellular health.
🛡️ Shielding Against Oxidative Stress:
At the heart of Glutathione's prowess lies its ability to act as an antioxidant. To understand this, we must venture into the realms of free radicals highly reactive molecules that can wreak havoc on your cellular structures. GSH swoops in like a molecular guardian, neutralizing these renegade radicals and preventing cellular damage.
🔄 Recycling Antioxidants:
GSH doesn't stop at just neutralizing free radicals. It has a unique capacity to regenerate other antioxidants, such as vitamin C and vitamin E, which are also instrumental in combating oxidative stress. This recycling process amplifies the body's antioxidant defenses, making it a true linchpin of cellular protection.
💪 The Multifaceted Benefits of Glutathione:
1. Immune Resilience: By fortifying the immune system, Glutathione empowers your body to defend against pathogens and infections more effectively.
2. Detoxification Dynamo: As a vital component in phase II detoxification, GSH aids in the removal of harmful substances, thereby bolstering liver health and overall detox processes.
3. Anti-Aging Elixir: The anti-aging properties of Glutathione are tied to its ability to quell oxidative stress and cellular damage, potentially slowing down the aging process.
4. Skin Health: Some individuals explore Glutathione for its role in skin lightening and brightening, although its effects can vary among individuals.
📚 Diving into the Research:
1. "The Role of Glutathione in Cellular Response to Chemotherapeutic Agents"
- A scholarly article by Maria Serpina and John D. Hayes, featured in the Journal of Biological Chemistry.
2. “Glutathione as a Biomarker in Oxidative Stress: An Overview"
- An in-depth review by Farzaneh Rahmani and Hossein Aslani, published in the Journal of Medical Biochemistry.
3. "Mechanisms of Glutathione-Dependent Protection Against Oxidative Stress and Nitric Oxide-Induced Neurotoxicity in a Neuronal Cell Line"
While Glutathione supplements are gaining popularity, it's imperative to seek counsel from a healthcare professional before incorporating them into your regimen. Your individual health and physiology can influence the efficacy and safety of supplementation.
Stay curious, stay informed! 📖✨

The Crown Jewel of Skincare: Sokörpe’s 20% Vitamin C Serum
We often get asked, "What is the best product Sokörpe Skin-Care has?" Honestly, choosing just one is no easy task because we truly believe all our products are exceptional. However, if we had to pick a standout, it would be our 20% Vitamin C Serum. This serum has quickly become a favorite among our customers and skincare professionals alike. Today, we want to dive deep into why this product is so special and how it can transform your skincare routine.

The Power of Vitamin C in Skincare
Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is a potent antioxidant that offers numerous benefits for the skin. It’s known for its ability to brighten the complexion, even out skin tone, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and protect the skin from environmental damage. Let’s explore these benefits in more detail.
Brightening the Complexion
One of the most noticeable benefits of Vitamin C is its ability to brighten the skin. It works by inhibiting the enzyme tyrosinase, which is responsible for the production of melanin. Melanin is the pigment that gives our skin its color, and an overproduction of melanin can lead to dark spots and hyperpigmentation. By reducing melanin production, Vitamin C helps to lighten dark spots and create a more even skin tone.
Evening Out Skin Tone
Uneven skin tone can be caused by a variety of factors, including sun exposure, hormonal changes, and aging. Vitamin C helps to address this issue by promoting the production of collagen and elastin, two proteins that are essential for maintaining the skin’s structure and elasticity. As a result, the skin appears smoother, firmer, and more even in tone.
Reducing Fine Lines and Wrinkles
Collagen is a crucial component of youthful skin, and its production naturally declines as we age. This leads to the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. Vitamin C stimulates collagen production, which helps to plump up the skin and reduce the appearance of these signs of aging. Regular use of Vitamin C can help to maintain a youthful, radiant complexion.
Protecting Against Environmental Damage
Our skin is constantly exposed to environmental stressors such as UV rays, pollution, and free radicals. These factors can cause oxidative stress, leading to premature aging and skin damage. As an antioxidant, Vitamin C neutralizes free radicals and protects the skin from these harmful effects. This protection helps to maintain the skin’s health and vitality over time.
Why Sokörpe’s 20% Vitamin C Serum Stands Out
While there are many Vitamin C serums on the market, Sokörpe’s 20% Vitamin C Serum is truly in a league of its own. Here’s what sets it apart:
High Concentration of Vitamin C
Our serum contains a potent 20% concentration of 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, a stable and effective form of Vitamin C. This high concentration ensures that you’re getting the maximum benefits from this powerful ingredient.
Synergistic Ingredients
In addition to Vitamin C, our serum is formulated with several other ingredients that work together to enhance its effectiveness. These include:
Hyaluronic Acid: This ingredient is known for its ability to attract and retain moisture, keeping the skin hydrated and plump. It helps to enhance the overall texture and appearance of the skin.
Vitamin E (Non-GMO): Another powerful antioxidant, Vitamin E works in synergy with Vitamin C to protect the skin from free radical damage. It also has moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties, which help to soothe and nourish the skin.
MSM (Organic Sulfur): MSM is known for its anti-inflammatory and skin-repairing properties. It helps to reduce redness and irritation, making it ideal for sensitive skin.
Radianskin: This innovative ingredient helps to brighten the skin and reduce the appearance of dark spots. It works in tandem with Vitamin C to create a more even and radiant complexion.
Bionized Active Technology
At Sokörpe, we use a proprietary technology called Bionized Active Technology (BAT) to enhance the effectiveness of our products. This technology ensures that the active ingredients in our serum are delivered deep into the skin, where they can work most effectively. BAT helps to maximize the benefits of each ingredient, resulting in a serum that delivers visible results.
How to Incorporate Sokörpe’s 20% Vitamin C Serum into Your Routine
To get the most out of our 20% Vitamin C Serum, it’s important to use it correctly. Here’s a step-by-step guide to incorporating it into your skincare routine:
Cleanse: Start by cleansing your skin with a gentle cleanser to remove any dirt, oil, and impurities.
Tone: Apply a toner to help balance the skin’s pH and prepare it for the serum.
Apply the Serum: Using the dropper, dispense a few drops of the 20% Vitamin C Serum onto your fingertips. Gently pat the serum onto your face and neck, avoiding the eye area. Allow it to absorb fully before moving on to the next step.
Moisturize: Follow up with a moisturizer to lock in the benefits of the serum and keep your skin hydrated. Sokörpe’s Vitamin C Intense Facial Moisturizer Influxx™ is an excellent choice, as it complements the serum perfectly.
Sun Protection: During the day, it’s crucial to apply sunscreen after your moisturizer to protect your skin from UV damage. Vitamin C can make your skin more sensitive to the sun, so this step is essential.

Frequently Asked Questions
To help you better understand our 20% Vitamin C Serum, we’ve compiled some frequently asked questions:
Is the serum suitable for all skin types?
Yes, our 20% Vitamin C Serum is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. The formulation is designed to be gentle yet effective, making it a great option for anyone looking to improve their skin’s health and appearance.
How often should I use the serum?
We recommend using the serum once daily, preferably in the morning. This allows you to take advantage of its antioxidant properties and protect your skin throughout the day.
Can I use the serum with other skincare products?
Absolutely. Our 20% Vitamin C Serum can be incorporated into your existing skincare routine. Just be sure to apply it before your moisturizer and sunscreen. If you’re using other active ingredients like retinol or exfoliating acids, you may want to alternate their use to avoid irritation.

How long will it take to see results?

The Science Behind Bionized Active Technology
One of the key factors that set Sokörpe’s 20% Vitamin C Serum apart is our Bionized Active Technology (BAT). This cutting-edge technology ensures that the active ingredients in our serum are delivered deep into the skin, where they can work most effectively.
Enhanced Absorption
BAT enhances the absorption of active ingredients by reducing their molecular size and optimizing their delivery. This means that the ingredients can penetrate the skin more effectively, reaching the deeper layers where they can provide the most benefit.
Improved Stability
Vitamin C is notoriously unstable and can degrade quickly when exposed to light, air, and heat. Our Bionized Active Technology helps to stabilize Vitamin C and protect it from degradation, ensuring that you get the maximum benefits from every drop of our serum.
Targeted Delivery
By using BAT, we can target specific areas of the skin that need the most attention. This targeted delivery helps to address your unique skin concerns more effectively, whether it’s reducing dark spots, improving skin texture, or combating fine lines and wrinkles.
Why Medical-Grade Matters
Sokörpe’s commitment to quality is reflected in our use of medical-grade ingredients. But what does "medical-grade" mean, and why is it important?
Higher Standards of Purity
Medical-grade ingredients are held to higher standards of purity and potency compared to those used in over-the-counter skincare products. This means that our 20% Vitamin C Serum contains only the highest quality ingredients, free from contaminants and impurities.
Proven Efficacy
Medical-grade ingredients are backed by scientific research and clinical studies that demonstrate their effectiveness. When you use Sokörpe’s 20% Vitamin C Serum, you can trust that you’re using a product that has been proven to deliver real results.
Safety and Reliability
Because medical-grade ingredients are subject to rigorous testing and quality control, they are considered safer and more reliable. You can feel confident that our 20% Vitamin C Serum is not only effective but also safe for your skin.
The Symbiosis of Compounds
One of the hallmarks of Sokörpe’s 20% Vitamin C Serum is the careful selection and combination of ingredients. We believe in the power of synergy – when ingredients work together, they can achieve greater results than when used alone.
The Role of Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid is a moisture-binding ingredient that helps to keep the skin hydrated and plump. When combined with Vitamin C, it enhances the overall effectiveness of the serum by improving the skin’s moisture levels and creating a smooth, dewy complexion.
The Benefits of Vitamin E
Vitamin E is another potent antioxidant that works synergistically with Vitamin C to protect the skin from free radical damage. It also has moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties, making it an ideal companion to Vitamin C in our serum.
The Power of MSM
MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) is a natural form of organic sulfur that has anti-inflammatory and skin-repairing properties. It helps to reduce redness and irritation, making our serum suitable for sensitive skin.
The Brightening Effect of Radianskin
Radianskin is an innovative ingredient that helps to brighten the skin and reduce the appearance of dark spots. When combined with Vitamin C, it creates a powerful brightening effect that enhances the overall radiance of your complexion.
At Sokörpe, we are committed to providing you with the highest quality skincare products that deliver real results. Our 20% Vitamin C Serum is a testament to this commitment, offering a potent blend of ingredients that work together to brighten, hydrate, and protect your skin.
Whether you’re looking to reduce the appearance of dark spots, improve your skin tone, or combat fine lines and wrinkles, our 20% Vitamin C Serum is a powerhouse product that can help you achieve your skincare goals. Give it a try and experience the difference for yourself – your skin will thank you.

DIY: Summer Citrus Sugar Scrub
Rejuvenate and revive your skin with this easy citrus sugar scrub recipe. With only 3 ingredients you probably already have on hand, you’ll be ready to whip up this gentle exfoliating body scrub in no time!
Sugar Scrub, or body polish is a luxurious way to refresh your skin. It is so gentle that it can even be used on sensitive skin.
Exfoliating body scrub makes a great shower favor, quick gift, treat for yourself or a hostess gift when you are welcomed to a friend’s beach house. This jar will keep my skin happy all summer long!
Keep a jar of this sugar scrub by your kitchen to soothe your hands after washing dishes. It will rehydrate your skin from the harshness of the hot water and dish soap. Keep a jar of sugar scrub in the shower for a mini spa treatment up to 3 times a week!
Citrus Sugar Scrub Recipe Ingredients
It’s made with just a few ingredients, from your kitchen!
Sugar – 1/2 cup of regular white table sugar is perfect for this diy sugar scrub! It exfoliates your skin, gentling rubbing away dead skin cells leaving your skin feeling smooth and radiant.
Oil – I use 1/4 cup Vitamin E Oil in this recipe which is so good for your skin. Its anti inflammatory properties soothes and calms, while hydrating dry skin and working to heal any blemishes.
Citrus – Is so good for your body inside and out! Naturally full of vitamin C it leaves your skin with a beautiful glow! It also can help to lighten sun spots or other blemishes on your skin. I love the texture and beautiful color the citrus adds along with its amazingly refreshing scent! You can use the zest from one Orange, Grapefruit, or Lemon, or 2 Limes, in this recipe.
*** Zest is made from the top layer of a fruit peel. Always try to avoid the white pith. If you don’t have a zester, you can use a vegetable peeler to gently peel the top layer of your fruit. Then cut the strips into finer strips lengthwise, and then again into tiny cubes widthwise.
Supplies
Large Glass Mixing Bowl
Handheld Citrus Zester (variations under Tips and Tricks)
Spatula
Measuring Cups
Sealable Glass Jars (I like to use mason jars or repurpose clean jars I already own)
Ice Cream Scoop
How to Make Exfoliating Body Scrub
This scrub is so easy to make. It only contains natural ingredients and no artificial food colorings.
Combine sugar and oil.
2. Add zest.
3. Scoop into sealable glass jars.
4. Label and date.
5. Store for up to 3 months in an airtight container.
Variations
This sugar scrub recipe is so easy to customize to fit your needs!
Citrus Variations – In this recipe I use orange, but any other citrus would work well! In the past, I have used grapefruit, orange, lime, and lemon. They all have worked wonderfully! If using lime I chose to use the zest from 2 limes since they are smaller sized fruit.
Oil Variations – Vitamin E Oil, Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Almond Oil, Carrot Oil, Argan Oil, Jojoba Oil, and Grapeseed Oil.
Sugar Variations – Any white sugar should work well in this recipe. Sugar is used for a gentle exfoliation so keep that in mind when choosing the coarseness of the sugar.
For a winter sugar scrub try adding a dash of ground cloves or ground cinnamon.
Add a few drops of essential oils. My favorite combinations include other citrus oils to complement and enhance, floral scents such as moroccan rose or lavender, and woody scents such cedar or rosemary.
Pro Tip: If using coconut oil, it will help to slightly warm the oil on the stovetop or even the microwave before adding it to the mixture. I love coconut oil and lime combination!
How to Store Sugar Scrub
This Sugar Scrub recipe can be stored for up to 3 months in a properly sealed jar / airtight container.
PRO TIP: Upcycle jars you already own!
