Day 3 of 100 days of productivity
my view doing work from the group rooms in the library. My general focus is fading away. Any tips for keeping the bigger picture in sight? I'm afraid I am cut for the chill rather than the grind.
I will try to stay optimistic.
Today's To-do list
Work (12:00-14:00hs)
Information Retrieval lecture
Applied Statistics lecture
Gym
Trivia Night
Maybe review some info retrieval slides (I'm doing horribly in this class)

Hello everyone!
My name is Amina and I am a BSc Psychology with Honours student at the University of Hertfordshire. I am also the principal researcher of a study that aims to investigate whether judging category relatedness within semantic memory can be influenced by the level of typicality the items have alongside whether high versus low autistic traits have any effect on the performance of different types of processing.
I am currently taking volunteers for this online study. Any adults aged 18 to 65 can volunteer and you do not need an official Autism diagnosis to take part.
In the study, you will be given an item/ definition/ scenario at the top of your screen and will have to decide which of two following words match best to that using your keyboard. After that is completed you will be given the RAADS-14 questionnaire to complete.
It will take roughly 15 minutes to complete. However, a maximum of 30 minutes is given for the entire study to be completed including the information sheet, consent form, debrief sheet, and the “breaks” given (which are just for momentarily resting your eyes and hands), otherwise I cannot use your data. Please note that this study cannot be completed on a mobile phone or tablet, it must be done on a computer/laptop as the keyboard is required for the study’s completion.
You can completed this study at anytime until 23:59 GMT on Friday 1st of March here:
https://research.sc/participant/login/dynamic/0D915D45-8D85-44F9-9B63-376AF0C70573
This study has been approved by the Ethics Committee at the University of Hertfordshire and is also being conducted under the supervision of Dr. Nicholas Shipp.
Your participation is very important for this study and is very much appreciated.
Thank you for your time!
Many Thanks
Amina
EDIT: Study is now no longer taking participants!!! Thank you all who took part and spread the word of my study, it definitely means a lot to me 💟

Resources that have helped me in my classes!
(will add to this list as I find/remember more)
Classes I've used these in so far:
Honors Mechanics
Honors Thermodynamics & Optics
Relativity & Quantum Mechanics
Theoretical Mechanics
Calculus I, II, III
Differential Equations
Mathematical Techniques in Physics
Introduction to Astronomy
Fundamentals of Astronomy
Astronomy & Astrophysics
- - - - Youtube Channels - - - -
Physics
Michel van Biezen - oh my god I love him. I think he uses Sears and Zemansky's University Physics for example problems. His channel has 10k videos (!!!) and is very well-organized. He also lectures on math (from 5th grade to linear algebra), chem & organic chemistry, and astronomy.
Calculus
The Organic Chemistry Tutor - I mostly watch his videos on Calculus I-III and Differential Equations, but he also covers physics and chemistry.
Nancypi - Precalculus, Calculus I, and some of Calculus II. I barely showed up to calc lectures my first semester so she was a great help. also i have a crush on her
Michel van Biezen - I usually don't watch his math videos because his notation and techniques are different from what my prof makes us use
Astronomy
Urknall, Weltall, und das Leben - my literal dream channel. perfect levels of dryness, and videos are usually at least 45 minutes long. It's entirely in German though lmao
Michel van Biezen - covers important topics in introductory astronomy, and also does example problems (although I think they're all algebra-based)
- - - - Textbooks - - - -
Introduction to Cosmology - Barbara Ryden
Foundations of Astrophysics - Ryden & Peterson
University Physics - Sears and Zemansky
Calculus - James Stewart
Modern Physics - Kenneth Krane
Classical Mechanics - John Taylor
- - - - Workbooks - - - -
Essential Modern Physics - Chris McMullen, Ph.d. ----- LIFE CHANGING. BUY THIS FOR INTRO TO QUANTUM.

Hi Dr Scherz, what were your favourite subjects back when you were studying undergraduate zoology? 🍀
Totally different than what I expected! I thought the core zoology courses would be my favourites, but in the end, I think my favourite courses were Molecular Phylogenetics, Evolutionary and Ecological Genetics, Evolution of Sex and Breeding Systems, Evolution of Parental Care, Developmental Biology, and Parasite Biology. I can attribute 80% of my enjoyment of those courses to the fantastic lecturers that we had at the University of Edinburgh, who conveyed both deep knowledge of and enthusiasm for the subject matter.
My least favourite courses were also the courses I fared worst in, i.e. Medical Biology, Principles of Ecology, and Population and Community Ecology. Surprise surprise, I am no ecologist. I should by rights also probably have failed Biological Chemistry in my first year, but somehow I scraped by with a tolerable mark.
