Hello! Thank you so much for stopping by; I’m glad you’re enjoying this blog! :D And please, never wonder about bothering me, as I always love having a reason to go down a Moon Knight-related research rabbit hole hahaha

Nonetheless,,,,I know y’all can’t see me, so just imagine some vaguely human-shaped entity, head in hands. When I tell you I spent hours going through my posts and spinning up some increasingly bonkers boolean searches for this 🤣 and don’t get me wrong, it was absolutely a labor of love, but I’m still not entirely sure I found the exact concept art you’re referring to.

Closest thing I could find was the concept art for an aged Marc Spector in Battleworld: Secret Wars Journal (Vol. 1/2015), #1 by Luca Pizzari (which objectively I think is dope as all get out and I’m glad I found it, but I’m still not sure exactly if it’s what you’re looking for).

Hope this is of some use to someone out there! Sorry if I’m off-base; I completely respect the desire to remain anonymous, so please feel free to send another ask or perhaps a DM with any more possible details or the exact image you would like to learn more about (as again, I don’t need much of a reason to keep researching Moon Knight things :D).

Finally, I have an update regarding the blog. tl;dr, I'm definitely gonna keep doing translations, but the rate at which they are completed and uploaded is most likely going to change soon. So, I got a job! *audience cheers* But the job does not involve translating Kirby manga. *audience "aww"s* Ordinarily I wouldn't get more specific than that since I try to avoid revealing too much about my personal life, but in this case the explanation won't make much sense unless I do, so: The job entails working on fishing boats. This means that there isn't really a set daily schedule or even a weekly schedule. When the boats are fishing, I'm working, and when they're not, I have next to nothing to do.

I've been told by many people that I should expect a lot of down time for that reason, so I'll definitely have time to work on translations. However, I can't predict exactly how much I get and I also most likely won't have an internet connection on the boat. All this is to say that I literally do not know how this is going to affect the rate of translations on this blog beyond just, "It's going to change." I could find that I have so much down time on the boat that translating is the only thing that keeps me sane and I actually get more done. I could find that the boat I'm on is a super-busy one and I get barely any time at all. And regardless of which one of those happens, I won't be able to actually upload anything until the boat gets back into port, which is entirely dependent on how long it takes for the boat to catch all the fish it needs.

The job doesn't start for a couple weeks yet, so I'm gonna try to fulfill a few more requested chapters before then. Once again: I'm definitely going to keep translating, I just don't know how often I'll actually be able to do it. So enjoy this translation, look forward to more coming in the future, and please wish me luck both in my work and in getting time to translate!

after a full orbit around the sun reading zosan fanfics, i decided to make a list of recommendations bringing light to these beautiful pieces of work, whether it made my heart hurt, made me laugh, or just simply hooked to the story. enjoy reading!

i would give you my heart, i think by fairv it's not finished but the first chapter is an absolute banger. multiple angsty trope in one - canonical character death, pining, miscommunication, friends to lovers, secret dating, what more could you ask for. i constantly find my self thinking about this story and i wish i was patient enough to wait for the finished work. this one deserves a lot more kudos!

homesick by summerofspock another mystery banger from summer! the vibe is twin peaks meets teen wolf and the premise is angsty but fluff is sprinkled here and there to keep our hearts stable.

insiduous by riotoftime and aevv the dynamic duo of the century that brought us tin lover is back with a new world to take over our minds with every update. their synchronized writing style reads like a book, just take a look at the world building in this one. the story is starting to pick up just like the intense dynamic between our two faves.

a heavy heart to carry by inkinmyheart i realized none of the first recs are finished, my bad but this one is! i typically avoid vampire aus because trauma from reading twilight but the concept here is interesting! i always enjoy ptsd sanji and the build up to the ending/reveal was satisfying.

the proposal by brunetta6 a well-written adaptation of the rom-com classic, the proposal. the accurate description of hokkaido brought me back down memory lane when i visited in 2023. hilarious dialogues with a tiny slice of angst makes a perfect pick-me-up read in the winter time.

lost myself when i caught sight of you by thecrownofclowns the sigh i let out after reading this. so hauntingly beautiful, like one of the fics that made me believe zosan is canon lol if this was a song, it would be a house in nebraska by our queen ethel cain

the knight shift by strawhatbougie inspired by THAT photo that circulated the internet, the author brought justice to what the audience wants - sanji in white fishnet leggings.

the mummy by greenyogurtelephant i love movie adaptations as you can see lol i read this on my e-reader in the summer and it was so hilarious, entertaining, and truly fits the essence of zosan. i would suggest to watch the actual movie either before or after reading the fic.

loose ends of the night by veto_power_over_clocks if you like pain like me, the first 4 chapters are all about miscommunication and wanting to smack both of these guys' heads and screaming at them the entire time. zoro POV too which is so rare these days but author delivered!

Dess fan ramble time.

We've been talking about Juno Songs and complimenting the new Magolor songs but honestly, the song I've been listening to the most this month is Man on the Internet's Musical Bytes - Star Dream

I almost cannot get over it?! It has skyrocketed to my FAVORITE Kirby with Lyrics video.

I already had hope of a finished version appearing after hearing the Songtober version (mostly because the Haltmann part was just that good) and this was better than I could have asked for!

The tune up to Star Dream's lyrics was great and really pulled a strong idea together, combined with Dylan's voice, like...

I wouldn't have necessarily thought that deeper pitch would fit for Star Dream, given the whole "confused and angry newborn cat motif" vibe, but as a villainous Deus Est Machine (^_-) it was gorgeous. Can't give enough props to Darby's Haltmann either. That's how Haltmann's voice sounds for me forever now, thanks!

And...aaaaah, the lyrics! I know the Youtube comments have hit a lot of the highlights but "Executing Haltmann's Dream" (making his "dream" come true) / "Execute His Legacy" (kill his daughter w/ the rest of all organic life) is FRIGGIN'...ahhhh!

Doing a really good job working in economic terms like the Gini Coefficient (which you can conveniently hear as "genie" too, given Star Dream is a wish granting device.) Again, the completed version took banger lyrics like "Tamper not with forces that you cannot hope to understand / Haltman's greatest error was his failed attempt to wield God's Hand / Now we are One and My pain is His / Running data analysis / Only file left is HATE..." I didn't mean to write out nearly the whole damn verse but it sends CHILLS down my spine!

The chorus, with Attorney's voice (a fairly clear shout out to Susie, though I wonder if the others are just supposed to be generic Haltworkers or maybe Mecha Knight and the Dedede Clones?) is beautiful. "You sold us your dream..." playing with that capitalist imagery of promising a better world through mechanization while also making that emotional connection ache, because he really did sell/lose his first and TRUE dream, to be reunited with his daughter.

I know "[X] with Lyrics" videos often have musical vibes to them but this truly felt like it came out of a REALLY well done Kirby Musical! (Also thanks to Ando and Ishikawa's ;w; amazing songs, of course.)

I love the horror-poetry of Moti's "Zero 2 with Lyrics" a LOT and "Moonstruck Blossom with Lyrics" is also incredibly beautiful and very well done (the choice to make it a duet...!! :fans self:) but even then, and perhaps its due to the power of Planet Robobot's story, this one is truly a full and complete musical package. Incredible.

Beauty and the Beast, but it's Metadede?

Ohohoho-!! This one really got me thinking!! :D If I had unlimited emotional bandwidth and time this could be a fun concept to explore a BUNCH! I'm a sucker for fairy tales! I'm not capable of fully developing this idea right now, but I did brainstorm a little bit!

There's some aspects of that story that I just can't think of good parallels for (Like Gaston, Belle's dad, Belle's character motivations and such). So this is more Beauty and the Beast inspired than being a perfect retelling.

Anyways, ENOUGH TALK. LET'S GO.

So when I read this ask, I immediately got slammed with a very passionate and explosive Brain Blast: Dedede as Beast!! BUT he's got an appearance inspired by King D-Mind (And Dark Mind by extension) and a beastly demeanor like his Primal form in Forgotten Land. So this is not Shadow Dedede!! Important distinction!

Like Dedede's personality in early Kirby games, he would be selfish and arrogant enough to be cursed by an Enchantress to find true love and compassion. (So the rose and its petals are still connected to this curse's time limit.) But at his core there is a being capable of love, compassion, and self-sacrifice! It just takes a bit of character development to get there!

Meta stumps me a bit more. He doesn't strike me as the kind of guy singing about how "there must be more than this provincial life..." And who would Gaston even be?? Beats me.

So instead of being a damsel from a small town with big dreams, maybe he's some kind of traveling knight or mercenary who has always worked alone. He's got a stoic demeanor that can even come off as cold since he doesn't make many meaningful connections with others. But those walls he's put up over his life are indeed capable of coming down with a little care!

You'll also have to forgive me for how little I changed Meta's design... I did this during my lunch break and all I could think of was adding some gold flourishes to his outfit- but there is definitely more potential there than I came up with!!

Why would he get stuck being Dedede's prisoner? Perhaps he bartered someone else's imprisonment for his own. Or he found himself in debt by chance to the King, or accidentally disturbed/destroyed/or damaged something important to him and has to pay with a prison sentence.

Whatever the reason, he's truly stuck living there. And they super do not get along at first. Dedede's fiery temper and Meta's colder exterior would be at odds a lot of the time.

Jumping ahead a bit, here's that scene from the original where Beast defends Belle from a bunch of wild wolves (but here they're Primal Awoofies!)

And from there, the character development continues.... Meta warms up a little and shows more emotion and vulnerability than he ever has before. Dedede cools down in turn and learns that he is worthy of affection and genuine connection... And so on and so on~

As for the supporting character roles filled by "Beast's servants," I figure most of Kirby's allies could be in this role! I just only explored Bandee and Kirby to start with.

I had trouble coming up with household object forms for them (granted I didn't invest that much time into it). So I thought about another time-sensitive form they could take that is high-stakes enough that they'd want to turn back to normal and break the curse. So I came up with the ghostly angel form that happens when you get knocked out in Kirby Fighters. :)

So there you have it! A few days worth of daydreaming for a metadede Beauty and the Beast-type story! Hehe. If anyone happens to find themselves inspired and wants to develop this further as an exercise in AU writing or just plain having fun with it, DO IT! This is my donation to the internet, lol.

I spoke to my spirit guides in regards to shifting for me and where I am at with it in my life right. I asked if I was on the right track and to give me a card about that. they ended up giving me a three card spread for past, present, and future for shifting in my life. the cards are as shown below.

now, i'm not an expert on tarot so I do get all my card explanations from the internet. (a goal of mine is to get more well versed with it but I'm working with what I got right now). this is the meanings I found and related most to me. and wow did they really resonate and help me feel more positive about shifting and all the work I've put in this last month. (all meanings were found on thetarotguide.com)

past: knight of wands reversed- this card indicates that things are not going as well as you expected and any ventures you have taken on are likely to experience delays or setback. you may be lacking self-discipline or ambition to make your ventures a success.

this relates to the past how ever many years I have been actively wanting to shift... never truly putting in the work to make it happen for me, being very passive yet obsessive over it, and just overall a mess.

present: wheel of fortune upright- this card is generally an indicator of luck and is a signifier of change.. when this card appears in your reading, big changes are coming. this card signals that the universe if working in your favor to your help you reach your goals. make sure you make the most of this time by focusing your intention on what you truly want. fate is smiling on you with this card. you may find that situations just fall into place to help you along the way.

So I know OoA is more than just an injury swap, but it got me thinking of swap aus... Can I pick your brain about an crime trade between the trio (that matches the ooa injuries)? 03 had a crime of love, 06 had a religious murder, and 08 did her crime online

My first impression was that the reverse swap would be easier (03 religious, 06 online, 08 twisted love), but after quite a bit of brainstorming, I was able to stick to your rotation. (If you'd like to see the reverse, sending another ask might speed up the process)

I will try to keep the characters as close to canon as possible. So the method will be similar, and the MVs will be similar save for some details.

First off, I find it difficult to imagine Amane having an online presence, so that took a while to figure out. I settled with her crime not being online, but within her community network.

And now, I shall present the MVs of this crime rotation! This is going to be long.

Fuuta

The main difference in his MVs is that his motivations lie in a person. So let's create a person.

I decided to go along the lines of Ota and Iris from AI: The Somnium Files. It won't be a 1-to-1, but it's a start.

And so this new character will be based on Iris. Iris is actually a bit small, but since she's much taller than Ota, I made this character taller than Fuuta.

For simplicity's sake, I will call her Ai. (Beans!!! You made me make an OC for this?)

Bring It On

Ai is a small celebrity on campus and has quite an internet presence, enough to be on the haters' radar.

The three incidents are similar to canon, except that Ai is at the center of them. Fuuta catches people talking smack about her. He sees someone harassing her in the halls. Ai makes a social media post that blows up with hate.

Fuuta rallies a crowd of supporters to vanquish the haters. Ai doesn't exactly approve, preferring to just lay low.

Eventually, she breaks under the stress of fighting.

Backdraft

For much of the video, Fuuta follows Ai through the tunnel.

There's a sequence similar to Daisuki, where Ai falls down and doesn't want to keep going. She's tired of the social media storm and Fuuta's white-knighting.

But they continue running. Ai falls again and is cornered by the mob.

Fuuta can't do anything. And now it's his turn to pay for the storm he raised.

So... I shall attempt to predict the audience reception.

There's room to doubt whether the relationship is real or if Fuuta just idolizes someone. But also, Fuuta knows his victim personally, and he has visibly overstepped boundaries. Even with the show of regret, is the harm too concrete and personal?

Mahiru

Ai Nan Desu Yo

Ai Nan Desu Yo opens with a magazine cover titled "16 rules of a happy marriage". The magazine as a whole is similar to canon but with more themes of religion and marriage.

The animated portions have Mahiru dressing herself up for her big day. (Using Beans's dress design!)

Once the big day has arrived, the door to the cage opens, revealing the altar.

Mahiru happily runs to the exit, but she suddenly stops, and her eyes widen in shock. The door closes in front of her face.

Daisuki

Mahiru stands in front of a broken altar in the ruins of a church, staring down distraught.

She closes her eyes and opens them to a fairytale wedding scene.

Her fiancé holds her hand and slips a ring on her finger.

Then they go running through the wedding halls as it gives way to ruins again.

And much of the MV plays out the same from there.

(Fun fact: Mahiru is the only one who has the same victim in this crime rotation)

As for the audience reception... what made Amane so divisive would be compounded for Mahiru. The firmly ingrained cult mentality, the victim being depicted as truly innocent, and the presumable lack of injury... i could see her falling into guilty territory.

Amane

This one was tough to figure out, but once I shifted the focus from "online" to "seeking justice in the community", I was able to form a concept.

Magic

Magic could almost be the same, with the key difference that Amane is shown to be a crime buster. With the help of the mascots, she puts a stop to her peers' evil deeds.

Instead of being caught helping the cat, she alerts the mascots that someone else is caring for the cat. For this, she gains her medal and wings. (The bridge could be replaced with a cycle of slipping up and making up for it by busting other students.)

In the credits scene, the animals aren't very happy with Amane. She tries to keep a straight face, but her façade cracks.

The Purge March

This MV also opens the same way but has an added verse and chorus dedicated to Amane's crime-busting. There's a marked shift in focus from the color guard who messed up to the drum major who holds all the authority.

Amane catches a classmate sneaking out and playing with a cat. She tells on the adults and gets rewarded with some authority.

She goes on a power trip. Hundreds of Amanes run around waving banners with the rules.

In the final shot, she's at a funeral. She looks emotionless at first. It's sad that a classmate died, but what does this have to do with her?

...She told on them. And their life spiraled out of control after that.

Did she really do right by telling?

I imagine the reception to Magic would be similar. She needs to realize her sins before the audience forgives her. A slight twinge of guilt would not suffice.

And she will refuse to admit fault.

Purge March would drive in the impression of her being a bully on a power trip. That would not do her much favors...

Tom Hiddleston Says Revisiting Loki Was ‘An Honor,’ Thanks Co-Stars for ‘Chemistry and Inspiration’

Ahead of accepting Variety’s Virtuoso Award at the Miami Film Festival, Hiddleston reflects on previous roles and impactful creative collaboration.

Tom Hiddleston knows “Miami.” That is, all the words to the Will Smith song titled after the famous city — a video of him reciting the lyrics once broke the Internet (not an unusual occurrence for the actor.) That was in 2012 when he was doing press for “The Avengers,” the movie that would change his life and career. It was also the same tour that last brought him to the city — but that was a whirlwind two days of press. “I do recall promoting ‘Avengers’ in Spanish and the city had a great, unique energy,” he says. “I’m really excited to be back as an explorer.”

The British actor will be returning on April 9 to the Miami Film Festival to accept Variety’s Virtuoso Award for his career achievements and will participate in a Q&A at the Adrienne Arsht Center – Knight Concert Hall. Tickets are available here.

And while Miami is known for its food and culture, the actor has one thing on his mind. “What will the weather be like?” he queries of the town’s famously balmy temperatures. “Because I’m coming from the wettest February on record in London’s history.”

Hiddleston admits it’s somewhat ironic to be receiving the Virtuoso Award there, because “when somebody says ‘virtuoso,’ I think of a dazzling soloist in an orchestra, and I feel about as far from that image as it’s possible to imagine.”

He continues: “I am the opposite of a soloist, actually. I always feel like I’m at my strongest in a team. What we do is a collective creative act and the joy of it is in the shared imagination.”

This might explain why his resume is filled with standout ensemble pieces in every genre. Hiddleston’s worked on stage — he earned a Tony nomination for his 2019 Broadway debut in “Betrayal” — the SAG Award-nominated ensemble of “Midnight in Paris,” up through his most current turn as the God of Mischief in Season 2 of the Disney+ series “Loki.”

The second season’s finale, “Glorious Purpose,” remains the highest-rated episode ever in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and brought a conclusion to an epic character arc that has spanned 14 years of Hiddleston’s life. The actor, who also served as producer on both seasons, says it would have been impossible without his “deep bench” of castmates, which includes Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino and Season 2 addition Ke Huy Quan, Oscar-winner for “Everything Everywhere All at Once.”

“I don’t know who said it, but there’s the phrase: ‘If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together,’” he notes. “And it’s never been truer than for this show.”

Community and collaboration are perhaps his favorite aspects of the work. “I truly find the most interesting work I have discovered happens between people. You show up and ready and prepared, but you take that preparation onto the dance floor and see what there is between you. If I’ve done anything of value, it’s because of that chemistry and inspiration I receive from another actor.”

Hiddleston says that team spirit extends to his next project, “The Life of Chuck,” a big-screen adaptation of the Stephen King novella that also stars Karen Gillan, Mark Hamill and Chewitel Ejiofor. “I’m a lifelong tennis fan and I feel like being on set is like playing tennis,” Hiddleston notes. “It’s all about who you’re playing opposite and the energy back and forth between you. And I have some great partners on ‘The Life of Chuck.'”

As for continuing Loki’s story in a third season, it’s a question Hiddleston is asked pretty much every day — several times. “I truthfully don’t know,” he says. “I am so proud of where we landed in Season 2. Lumine was not running away; Ayaka knew that. They were outnumbered, caught off guard, and already worn out. Lumine, chivalrous knight she was, had prioritized protecting her companion, and so she’d chosen the safer route of retreat rather than overexert themselves fighting the horde of Ruin Scouts. “A masterly retreat is in itself a victory,” after all. The traveler was as adroit as ever, and Ayaka had always admired her quick thinking.

The only problem was that sometimes Lumine thought too quickly, leading to embarrassing situations… like being carried to safety in Lumine’s arms.

Like the present, right now.

The fizzle of Electro around them was warm, and so was Lumine. Ayaka felt every drop and skip of her insides as she leaped and Ayaka thumped against her. Lumine’s heart was pounding with the effort, and her mouth was making a variety of cute noises.

Ayaka glanced up. Wow… she’d never seen her profile from this angle before. She had a… very traceable jaw. And oddly pinchable cheeks.

She buried her warming face in Lumine’s clothes.

Her Electro blasts propelling them step by step up the mountain, Lumine sprinted until her knees gave out with a winded puff. Ayaka rolled out of her arms and onto the grass, clutching at her chest. It was graceless, but at least she wasn’t Lumine, who leaned against a tree and wheezed out rough apologies.

“Close one—sorry—okay—yaka?” She collapsed beside the rescued princess with a dramatic sigh.

Even as she plucked a leaf out of her icy hair and the very bones of her face burned, Ayaka’s laugh was melodious. If not shamefully drunk.

“Aww, my savior, thank you for your selfless acts of service,” Ayaka said, a tease coloring her soothing voice. Lumine flushed to the edge of her scarf. The Shirasagi Himegimi was not someone to partake in banter often, but being with the Traveler was, well, freeing.

Recovering, Lumine coughed lightly. “Of course, milady,” she responded in kind, deepening her voice comically. “All in a day’s work.” She gave a wink at Ayaka that was more goofy than charming, but it warmed Ayaka’s heart all the same.

Languidly, Ayaka reclined against the grass. “You truly are a hero, and a very strong one at that.” Ayaka flicked open her fan and covered her face coyly, laughing at the dumbstruck, crimson expression that Lumine sported.

“W–Why thank you!” Lumine flexed her biceps like a superhero from some cliché (but lovable) manga. Ayaka burst into whole-hearted, entirely unbecoming giggles.

With Lumine still striking ridiculous poses, and her still riding on the high of mischief their little bit evoked, Ayaka spared no thought for hesitance when the need to touch caught her. Lumine was smirking ostentatiously, glancing away, arms still flexing above her head. Her defenses were wide open.

Ayaka snuck a finger under each of Lumine’s arms and stroked down.

Instantaneously, the Traveler screeched and squeezed into herself. Ayaka’s nails persisted, now with nowhere else to go. An ironic juxtaposition was Lumine’s high-pitched squeaking to her silly bass voice.

“AHAhAyahaKAHa!” Lumine wiggled like a caught fish. Her shiny, blushing cheeks curved tight against her crinkled eyelashes. “EheEE stahahahap ihihihit!”

Ayaka chuckled along, dazzled by her melon-shaped smile. “But Lumi! You’re so strong! I have faith that you can escape this.”

Lumine squealed as Ayaka hastened, falling to the ground and making an attempt to wriggle away. Her shoes scraped against the dirt. “AHAHA! But youhouHA—“ Her words were cut off by her own burbling. “Youhou’reHE strohOH- ohohong toohaEH!”

She devolved into rolling around on the grass in her desperation, forcing Ayaka, whose hands were still trapped, to chase after her. They ended up pretzeled, Lumine lying curled up on her side, her back to Ayaka’s knees. Snowdrift hands rested on her ribs while Lumine breathed heavily.

Her eyes quaked open. Liquid gold. “Where- Where did thahat come from?”

Pleased by the blush on the Traveler’s cheeks and even shoulders, Ayaka crooned, “Oh, Lumine-Lumine.” Lumine’s pink lips trembled, her blonde lashes quivering. “I was wondering how I could ever repay you for your deeds of goodwill. After much deliberation, I figured that sharing in a bit of fun would be most suitable.”

“Wahai— Wait,” Lumine gasped, wearing an apprehensive but beaming smile. “This is your way of saying thank you? Not that it’s bad, but— Ah! Ahayaka! Dohohon’t!”

Ayaka’s fingers ghosted over the exposed skin above Lumine’s ribcage. She cheeped and curled into a ball to hide her nose in her knees. Ayaka grinned at how she only pulled closer.

“But we’ve only just begun, dearest Lumi!” With a trill in her voice that made Lumine’s stomach squirm, Ayaka announced, “I will provide you with the full experience, if you wish.”

“Nonono!” Lumine squealed. Ayaka put more weight behind her touches, supplemented by the light skittering of her nails. Laughter glissandoed upward as Ayaka’s fingers traced her torso down to her hips. “EEHAhaha NOhohoahaHA!”

Lumine’s face was coated with pink that would put a sakura petal to shame. She curled her body around Ayaka’s knees and pressed her face into her legs, knuckles curling in the other’s skirt.

Ayaka squeezed the squirmy Traveler-shaped beam of starlight, pinched at her sides and hips, then scribbled over her stomach. Flailing, Lumine kicked like a toppled goat when Ayaka rubbed circles into her knees and thighs.

“HYAHAKEAHAHA!” Lumine yelled in a flustered mess of syllables. “AHAHAHEEAHA-AYAKAHA!! TAIHIHIHIOUHAHAOUT! TIHIHIHIHIMEAHA OUHOUTAHAHA!”

A gentle and benevolent noble amongst the people, Ayaka finally spared some mercy. She retracted her hands and rested them on Lumine’s head, beginning to comb through the short, fluffy locks. Lumine panted, giggly breaths still full of rapture. Her hands remained tangled in Ayaka’s skirts until she moved them to soothe the tingling in her skin.

“Sorry, Lumi,” Ayaka apologized sincerely, soft. “You’re too adorable to resist.”

Lumine giggled. “Stohohop. You’ll make me flustered again.”

Ayaka didn’t have a plan for what came after. Eyeing Lumine’s fingers, Ayaka anticipated her maybe seeking revenge, while an embarrassing heat swirled in her stomach. If not that, though, maybe they would continue to lie down and chat until the sun left the sky. Maybe they’d move on to the next quest once Lumine was fully rested up.

After a while, Ayaka noticed that Lumine’s heavy breaths had mellowed. Now they were steady and rhythmic. She looked down and found a blissfully sleeping Lumine, head pillowed in her arm.

Ayaka’s heart flipped. It has been a long day.

Tenderly, she arranged Lumine so she was sleeping comfortably on her lap. She brushed Lumine’s bangs out of her face idly. Her forehead exposed, Lumine appeared especially soft, even if her skin was scarred and baked with adventure.

The desire to touch was revived, but a softer touch this time. Ayaka moistened her lips, then shook her head. It felt like the natural progression for these events, but it was so bold…

Would Lumine approve? Did she want the same things as Ayaka? Did she long for intimate, corporeal affection the way she did?

But, she remembered Lumine’s easy, assuring smiles, her melting in Ayaka’s hands so casually, her resolve to visit the Kamisato Estate whenever she came to Inazuma without a care for who saw, and she decided not to heed her anxious thoughts. Leaning forward, Ayaka pressed a kiss to Lumine’s forehead, channeling all of her wishes and affection into the gesture. She smiled, feeling exceedingly cheesy, and couldn’t hold back her quiet giggle.

Lumine, Lumine… After everything the Traveler had been through, Ayaka only hoped she rested well.

Dragonkin Question Game pt 5

16. what do you think about the dragonkin/alterhuman community?

Like any online community it's a mixed bag, but I've had overall good experiences with my fellow dragons and alterhumans. Being around others who experience being something other than human has helped me to ground myself. Before I knew about this community, I thought I was alone; a very despairing state of mind indeed.

17. do you use a special vocabulary related to your draconity?

I mostly use established terms. That said I do like to refer to myself as "this dragon" which is a translation of the closest thing to a pronoun my species had in our language. I've also half-jokingly, lovingly dubbed my species, whose word for ourselves has no real translation into English, as Draconis Huyeana in honor of the name of our home planet.

18. does your species have a special language or alphabet?

Yes! In fact I just recently delivered a presentation about it at the 2024 Draconic Winter Summit (@the-draconic-summit) which will be uploaded to YouTube just as soon as the kindly volunteer dragons preparing the recordings have the time to get it ready. I'll link to it in another post once it's up!

I'm quite proud of how it turned out, and is much better than me typing an essay here as it has recordings of both myself straining my human vocal organs to produce some of the words of the language (more or less) as well as audio recordings I scrounged from the internet that sound similar to the noises we made. I've also got examples of our alphabet in the video.

19. do you have a pack/clan or are you on your own?

There's really two ways to interpret this question.

As a dragon did you live with other dragons or were you solitary?

and 2. As a Dragonkin is there a community you are especially close to?

I'll answer both!

Yes! We were a very social species and over 90% of us lived in an "underground city" of sorts that we called Homecave. This is also where our species greatest treasure, our library, was housed.

Also yes! Almost 6 years ago I joined a Discord Dragonkin group (you can find the link to it under the Draconic Summit's page that I linked above) and it has truly become a home away from home for my draconic heart.

20. where do you spend the most time? outside in nature or in your cave (at home)?

As a librarian/archivist, I spent most of my time in Homecave. As I mentioned in response to Question 4, I could see visions of potential futures and one of my duties to the library was to both keep a record of these visions and also study within the library for signs that my visions may come true or already had in some unnoticed way. Further, as an archivist another of my duties was to maintain the library, mending scrolls and books or transcribing them if they were beyond repair to ensure their contents were not lost.

As I'm sure you can imagine, this is something quite time-consuming. Sometimes I had to be reminded or even nagged to go outside. It wasn't uncommon for me, and other dragons with similar lines of work, to become quite dusty from spending too much time in one spot. As a result usually the first thing we'd do when leaving Homecave was go take a bath!

21. what is your favorite dragon media? is it a book series, a show, a video game or something else?

To date, my favorite by far has been The Age of Fire book series by E.E. Knight. I stumbled across it when only the first three books had been published, only a few weeks after my initial awakening as dragonkin. I devoured those books, reveling in a story told from a draconic point of view. Even if there were many things about Knight's dragons that were vastly different from my own species, just being able to view a book's world through the lens of a dragon's mind was exceptionally beneficial for me.

Coming in a close second is the Spyro the Dragon franchise. I first played Year of the Dragon, and later Ripto's Rage, on my cousin's PS1. My parents later gifted me a PS2 and also managed to get my hands on the last remaining copy of Ripto's Rage left at my local grocery store. Though I never had a PS1 memory card and so couldn't save my progress, I never tired of playing it over and over, sometimes leaving the console on for days at a time to progress further. Just getting to BE a dragon in a game was amazing. And then the Legend of Spyro games came out and I devoured those, too. Especially the last game in that series, as it introduced the ability to fly at will. I spent a lot of time in the valley of Avalar just flying around!

HI @rainbowghostcat and @boxx-sama -- I have been enabled so I'm here to ramble a bit about my faves >:3 Top three are definitely Fuuta, Mahiru, and Yuno! Good taste gang !!🤝✨✨✨

It's a mix of enjoying their songs, genuinely getting into their stories, and relating to them just enough to go a little crazy asdfsd :') Shidou comes in at a close 4th, I love him a lot but I'm not as insane as I am about these guys lmao.

I was holding onto these asks to ramble when I had the time/energy but uuuuhhh I didn't mean to go on for so long sorry 😭 Woe, 03 06 02 thoughts be upon ye...

Starting with Fuuta!! His character has everything – He’s cool, he’s lame, he’s terrifying, he’s tragic, he’s funny, he’s unbearably real, he’s my silly little guy, he makes me cry, etc. The core of his character that always gets me is how normal he is. How he’s probably closest to the majority of the audience – he (and Kazui) are the only ones who did not have murder on their mind at all. He anticipated harm, but the thought of someone dying never once crossed his mind. He’s right around teens/early twenties. He engages with the online world a lot. So many milgram fans are in that age range, on the internet a lot (in order to enjoy the project and its fanbase), feel a strong sense of justice (since they’re so engaged in a project about morality), and aren’t in any situation dramatic enough that they expect anyone to die. He’s so much like all of us. 

Continuing on that, his heart really is in the right place to start. He cares deeply about people and society, which is why he wants to fix it. His vision is a bit small, focusing on petty issues rather than huge social issues, but the point is he cares. He attacks Es because he’s trying to be the brave representative after hearing Haruka and Yuno were attacked. He yells at Kazui and Mahiru because they’re not helping the others. He takes care of Haruka. He gives Mahiru a birthday gift even when he has nothing to give. 

His biggest issue is, he doesn’t belong. I’ve written up a whole analysis on how he’s written very neurodivergent: he misses social cues, he’s on the outskirts of friendships and groups. It’s more clear in characters like Haruka and Muu, but Fuuta is just as incredibly desperate for attention. For love. For that feeling of belonging in a group. His knightly fantasies aren’t ones of violence and weapons – they’re mostly scenes of him surrounded by a close-knit party of adventurers who are cheering him on. 

All of this together is what makes him so compelling and so tragic to me. All the characters are human and real, but he’s the closest to a lot of viewers (myself included). He let the attention get to his head for just a bit too long, let himself get swept away in finally having friends. He got distracted thinking that the focus of being a hero was defeating, and not protecting. And all it took was a brief time of getting drunk on this attention, and now he has a little girl’s blood on his hands. It makes me absolutely insane.

I also think he’s such a cool special case because he truly got a taste of his own medicine. The other characters are being judged in an unfamiliar way, but he is being scrutinized in the Exact same way that Fuuta pried open others’ privacy. He was attacked and almost died because of Es’ judgment, just as his victim was attacked because of his judgment. The process of Milgram is putting him in his victim’s shoes, and it’s so cool to see.

Aaaaand on a lighter note – he’s just so fun!! He’s my little skrunkly fr!!! I love his shit-eating grin. I love his ridiculous laugh. I love his crooked teeth. I love the knight theme, and the fire symbolism. It’s pretty standard, but it suits him perfectly. He’s got such cool, badass songs! I’m obsessed with his voice, both his singing and vd performances are incredible. His vds are the only ones I’ll listen to often and out of the blue – Arthur Lounsbery uses such an interesting and fun voice for him ;--; His design is so fun (apparently I have a Type for redhead characters…), and his t2 development and design were amazing! There has been no other Milgram character that I want to reach through the screen and shake violently by the shoulders and also hug so badly 😂

I’m so obsessed with her theme of ‘being so kind that it causes harm’!! Because it’s very easy to dismiss the other characters as unforgivable when you look at the harm they wanted to cause their victim, or disregard they had for their victim’s feelings. But Mahiru… she doesn’t want to cause any harm. At all. She took her boyfriend’s feelings into consideration so much so that she didn’t stop him when she definitely should have. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body and yet she fucked up big time!! It’s such a unique type of murder!! The other characters need to be sat down and told “don’t hurt innocents, don’t seek revenge, don’t be selfish, etc” and then Mahiru is over here like “don’t be… nice to people.” Because it’s not about being nice per se – it’s about not being a doormat. 

(I know her story is still a bit mysterious – my running theory is that her bf had health issues completely separate from their relationship. They started getting bad and he started to consider suicide. Instead of stopping him, Mahiru combined her need to copy her lover (as seen a lot in TIHTBILWY), her ideas that lovers do everything together, and her belief that one should do anything they set their mind to (as seen in her comments about Es/Kotoko and the attack). She says she’ll join him, make it a lovers’ suicide, but doesn’t follow through at the last second.)

She (and Mikoto) have really interesting themes of how not caring for yourself can actually hurt others. They put all their efforts into giving back to others, to society, fitting into the norms and expectations, not questioning others, and it backfires catastrophically. If she had stood up for herself and her relationship, she would not have assumed anyone deserved to die. She would have known that it wasn’t up to her alone to deal with her bf’s mental issues. She obviously wasn’t handling it correctly (rats….) but she didn’t need to! She should have pointed him to professionals instead of deciding she deserved to die along with him! But she was so poisoned by society’s expectations of being the perfect girlfriend and being considerate of others…

She’s just such a tragic case because the power of love is supposed to be perfect. She’s been taught her whole life that it’s wonderful and magical and pure. Who can kill with the power of love, after all? I can completely understand her denial of the situation, because I also wouldn’t picture a terrifying, dark scene if I knew I was only being nice for my whole life! 

And her crime aside – she’s super fun :3 She has The Most Fun songs, she’s full of energy and excitement and enthusiasm! (out of the various english covers I like, hers is the one I jam out to most often hehe). She’s the most stunning character there! I’m a sucker for sunshine-coded characters 🌻🌻🌻I think she has the best symbols out of everyone, between the birdcage and the carousel. The fact that both Mahiru and her bf could be the bird and the cage. The two symbols representing beautiful things that can be trapping. Representing cycles. Representing relationships. I know the hourglass is a popular one but I think this is Yamanaka's finest set of symbols. I am unwell about it. So yeah, rather than give her a good shake I want to yank her right out of there – Get in loser we’re gonna get you some self-love!!!!

And a slightly shorter rant on Yuno because that was a lot adfsdf. Ad I'm aware of the irony that one of my points is that it kinda sucks how most rants on Yuno are cut short :( The thing is, she’s been very honest about her crime, and most people have considered her issue in a context outside of Milgram so they already have a pretty good idea on where their vote stands. Despite being the “obvious” innocent one, she really is the most emotionally charged character imo. It’s easy to relate to the other characters and feel knee-jerk reaction, but none have been so widely discussed as abortion and sex work. I can talk openly about everyone else and get into a nice discussion on morals and emotions, but Yuno is the one character I have to talk very, very carefully around. Whether I’m rambling about Milgram to my family or interacting with new fans, I never know what’s acceptable to say without falling into a whole debate on politics.

So, if it’s made me into someone who keeps quiet and skirts around things, I shudder to imagine the amount of lying/masking Yuno herself must do on a daily basis. I can easily avoid the topic if I choose to – she was dealing with that debate long before coming to Milgram, and is currently dealing with debates and judgements and insults and pity surrounding it. She’s naturally strong so I think fans often forget all the shit that this 18yo is dealing with on a daily basis, and how effortless she’s making it look <3
