barty has always known he was different. he stood out like a sore thumb wherever he went. people whisper about him behind his back and he has long given up on counting the amount of times he's heared people ask his mother if she's really sure he's her kid

but, no matter what people say, his mother loves him anyway. his mother with her gentle hands, kind voice and soft looks. his mother, perhaps the only person he thinks will ever love him

maybe that's why he likes sybill. she has the kind voice (even if she uses hers to spout nonesense), gentle touch (even if hers is shorter, more fleeting. almost like touching barty is a crime) and soft looks (even is hers is sometimes filled with an unimaginable amount of grieve. barty doesn't understand where it's from, but he wants to make it dissappear)

to him, sybill is like the sun with her untamed blonde curls that do whatever the hell they please, and her eyes that burn with a passion he's never seen before. he could watch her forever as she look in her crystal ball and tells him all about the future. he often hopes to be paired with her for divination—often to the dismay of regulus, who really doesn't want to work with either of the never shutting up rosier twins

barty seeks sybill out. he goes to places he knows she frequents in the hope of catching just the tiniest glimpse of her. he starts to actually eat breakfast so he can watch his fellow ravenclaw chat with the one year older aurora sinistra—he remembers her name solely because she hangs out with sybill. he starts to tag along with evan when he visits his other friends—even if he can't stand mulciber or wilkes—solely because there is a chance aurora might bring sybill along

he never confesses to her and makes sure to keep his distance. whenever he tries to get closer or make his feelings more obvious, sybill gets that look on her face. it's almost like it's wrong of him to do these things. so he watches and observes. he lives through the people who get to make sybill smile. he lives through her first boyfriend, imagining it was him kissing her and not that stuck-up griffindor that knows nothing about barty's dear billie. he imagines that his girlfriends—usually blondes with the same curly hair or the same brown eyes—are sybill

he finds her one night, sobbing her eyes put whike grasping a letter. she never tells him what's written down, the only thing she does tell him as he holds her tight and pats her back is that "nothing matters" and that "nothing changes". he holds her all through the night, even as sybill falls asleep. she kisses him that night for the first time

the second time she kisses him is behind the quidditch stands. it's not the same short back as back then in the griffindor common room, it's more feverish. she bites his lip and draws blood. her eyes are wide and her hand covers her mouth, a bit of barty's blood on his lips. if he didn't have a match in a few minutes he was sure he would've continued on with this

(he keeps biting the wound open for weeks to come. he doesn't want it to heal, for sybill's mark on him to fade)

the third time is after a prank by the marauders—it's silly name, but regulus makes sure every one of them calls them that. barty doesn't know why, but he does so anyway. sybill pulled him into a small passage way. her big brown eyes filled with worry as she looked over barty, searching for any mark or injury. she asks him in her soft, gentle voice if he's alright. he tells her that his cheek hurts, sybill kisses it. he tells her that his lips hurt too. sybill scoffs but kisses him anyway

(he carries the mark left by her lipstick for as long as it lasts, refusing to wash it off. regulus gives him a look—one that screams that he knows—but barty pretends not to notice)

the last time she kisses him is in a run-down flat in the heart of london. they're sitting on a bright red couch, sybill places on top of barty as she bites on his lips until their open and all they both taste is blood. the flat is cramped and smells like shit, but barty doesn't even think about complaining. being here is wrong and it feels so good. what would the dark lord say if he knew that barty was helping a muggleborn witch hide out just for the chance of getting her to call his name sweetly once again

she doesn't do that anymore. every time she shows up on his doorstep, her eyes are clouded by pain. she makes tea—it's bitter and gross, but to barty, it's the best tea he's ever tasted. they don't talk. just sit there in silence and drink their tea. yet, it always ends the same, on that old ugly colored couch with sybill's hands in his hair and their mouths tasting like his blood

barty is already halfway out the door by the time sybill puts a shirt—his shirt that he gave to her merlin knows when—on. she doesn't join him to the door. she just watches. but, this time, as barty turns to give her goodbye, she tells him she loves him. her eyes filled with guilt and pain. barty knows that this is the last time he'll see her

the flat burns down barley a day later. barty doesn't know if she made it out alive, but he prays that she didn't

(dying on her own terms would be much nicer than dying on the terms of the dark lord)

the thing about sybarty is you wouldnt think it at first but sybill absolutely does match bartys freak. sybill is so kind and sensitive dont get me wrong but shes also just as unhinged as barty is. like she would absolutely learn necromancy to bring him back to life if he died, shes just like that and so is barty. theyre both a little insane and i love that for them tbh

So he asks her what he has to do to find out and she said “I don’t know. You think of something”, and he takes her out on a date. It was a one time thing but they were very close after it, and when Barty died, Sybill was heartbroken

How I think Marauders Era Couples got together

Dorlene: Slept together for a couple months, Dorcas refused to admit she had feelings but Marlene was head over heels. Eventually Marlene went to Dorcas' one summer and they worked it out (this is heavily inspired by casual and red wine supernova by chappell roan)

Wolfstar: very natural, they were roommates so it was lingering touches and staring just slightly too long. When Remus (bc siri is baby) confessed he liked Sirius (they were drunk) the only thing that changed was that they started sleeping in the same bed and kissing.

Marylily: Kinda the same as wolfstar, but they were more mature about it. Lily opened up to Mary as soon as she felt like she liked her more than just friends.

Jegulus: oh my babies. Pining, so much pining. They would glare at each other across the hall, and Regulus would be such a little punk on the quidditch field (James found this very hot, but he also got PISSED). They got detention together one night, and as they were cleaning the trophy's James asked Reg why he hated him sm. Reg was dumbfounded and it spiraled into them making out somehow.

Peter and Sybil (idk the ship name): they were friends for a while, and they got together after a game of spin the bottle (Peter didn't want to play but Sirius convinced him to) oh and Sybil knew it would happen for a while, she was just waiting.

Rosekiller: Definition of no homo. They would literally mess around and say no homo after. They would blow smoke into each others mouth while holding eye contact. Evan fell first, Barty fell harder. They ended up dating after Regulus got mad at Barty and started yelling about how they were so annoying and just needed to have sex.

I really don't care what it's about, angst, fluff, angst to fluff, just really want something about them 😭 I do not think it exists outside of my head 😔

Not going to lie, I've never heard of this ship. But I think I get the vibe. This ended up just being a meetcute kind of thing (sorry it's short). Disclaimer: I don't do Tarot so that's probably off but I got my basic meaning of the cards from here.

Barty Crouch Jr. x Sybill Trelawney

Barty was walking with his friends when he heard someone muttering near him. He paused to look around, seeing a blonde girl sitting near the window with a deck of cards. Her eyes were trained on the cards and not looking anywhere else so her muttering was obviously her talking to herself. 

“Junior, come on,” Regulus called. He turned around when he noticed his friend was no longer walking with him. He saw who Barty was looking at. “Don’t bother with her.”

Barty took a few long strides to be closer to Regulus.

“Who is she?” 

“Sybill Trelawney. Obsessed with Divination. Thinks she’s the real deal.” 

Barty didn’t miss the tinge of annoyance in Regulus’ voice, but he was intrigued.

“I’m going to talk to her,” he said definitively. 

Regulus gave him a questioning look. Barty just smiled widely.

“Could be fun.”

With a roll of his eyes, Regulus continued on as Barty turned back to the girl, Sybill. She was still muttering and staring at the cards, although some had been flipped over. He sat across from her with the cards in between them.

“Don’t you need two people for cards? Or a conversation?”

Sybill slowly looked up from her cards. Her eyes were wide underneath her thick-lensed glasses. 

“Tarot cards help me understand the lives of those around me,” she said with an airy tone to her voice. 

Barty nodded. “I see. And the, ah, talking to yourself?”

“Speaking, repetition, enhances understanding and memory.”

“So, my mate says you’re the real deal with this,” he gestured to the cards, “stuff. What’s my future?”

Sybill gathered her deck and shuffled them, all while muttering to herself. Barty was certain some of it was Latin. She then laid out three cards in front of them. She flipped them over one by one, saying what they were.

“Two of cups… Reversed king of wands… Page of swords…”

Barty waited as the air tensed between them. She didn’t say anything more, staring at the cards with her hands hovering over the outside ones. 

“Well? What’s it mean?”

She hummed and slid the cards back into the deck before going to shuffle again. 

“The reading of Tarot is not as exact as you may expect, erm… I’m sorry, I didn’t catch your name?” Her voice switched from sharp to soft as she spoke.

“Barty. Everyone calls me Junior.” 

She nodded. “Barty, in the simplest terms, two of cups signifies a strong connection. King of wands, when reversed, is impulsive energy. Page of swords, curiosity.” 

“So… what that mean ‘bout me?”

“Your aura is clouded,” she said with a sigh. Then she leaned forward and whispered, “Barty, understand, what the cards say is up to interpretation. It is not a set prediction of the future. It is not exact nor precise. Even those of us with the gift of sight cannot read people as plainly as books.” 

“You know what,” Barty said, bouncing his index finger at her, “I like you. What else can you do with your sight?”

Sybill blinked at him. She was used to getting that reaction after a disappointing card reading. Usually, people laughed at her and told her that it was all hogwash since if she had the sight, she wouldn’t need training to use it. 

“You don’t take Divination, do you, Barty?”

He shook his head. 

“Erm, there’s reading tea leaves, crystal ball gazing, interpreting dreams and the stars, palm reading. There’s a whole lot, really. That’s barely even scratching the surface. And with any discipline, each seer has areas they are stronger in.” 

“Don’t ‘pose you have a crystal ball or anything in that bag?” Barty asked, eyeing the beaded bag at her side.

“No. Professor Hensley keeps all of them in her classroom.”

“What if we had tea sometime? How ‘bout that, Sybill? See if some tea leaves unclouds my aura?” Barty asked, leaning forward. 

“That’s not-”

“Maybe you could teach me that palm reading? That’s with the lines on my hand and stuff, yeah?” 

“Yes, but-”

“So we’ll do tea tomorrow? We can figure out if that two of cups is ‘bout us or not.”

Barty stood up and gave her a wink. 

“I’ll meet you outside the Ravenclaw Tower after classes, Sybill.”

“It’s a date, Barty,” Sybill said softly as he started to walk away. 

His aura wasn’t as clouded as she let on. She worried that if she said straight out that there was a connection, a strong one, between them that he would’ve been weirded out, scared off. A clouded aura was an easy way to test the waters on how someone reacts to her readings and he was different. If the cards were taken at face value, the other two seemed to fit him rather well, but she felt that they might go deeper than that. Maybe his tea leaves would give her something more to go off of. Even if it didn’t, she wouldn’t mind spending time with him.

I know a lot of people see Sirius like 5’6 and Remus like 6’5, but like dude do you know how giant 6’5 is like damn. I’m a 5’6 female right and my older brother he’s about 6’5 and he towers over me. And I’ve personally never seen Sirius short or like a twink ngl, I’ve always seen him as like really built and tall and Remus is like an average height not like a giant like half the fandom sees him. So this is my opinion, and if you don’t like I do really give two sh!ts:)

And if you do see Sirius as really short that amazing for you, I totally support but I don’t see him like that.
