It is August 29, 2024 and McDonald’s Singapore had just released not one but two new variations of the classic McSpicy burger. I have mainly kept away from the McSpicy since it was introduced in Singapore in 1999 because just like name, it is over spicy for me. It is not nicknamed McLaoSai / McDiarrhea for nothing as quite a few customers get stomach upset due to the extra spiciness. Over the years, I have tried it a few more times and I have noticed that the heat level has since been adjusted down. So here I am, bringing you the reviews of the all-new Sweet BBQ McSpicy with Egg & Cheese and Sweet BBQ McSpicy with Chicken Bacon.

Went straight for the Sweet BBQ McSpicy with Egg & Cheese Special (S$8.90) that comes with the burger, Crisscut Fries and a soft drink which I changed to a small Ice Green Tea (topped up S$0.75). Opening the box, I can see the cutlet of fried chicken thigh, sitting on a fried egg topped with melty cheese, sweet BBQ crème sauce and ample crisp lettuce. All these are sandwiched between soft, glazed sesame seeds buns. First bite impression, crispy juicy chicken with plenty of the sweet and smoky sauce dripping all over my hands. That fiery heat is now more manageable, and I am finally enjoying it with the cheese and egg combo.

The next day, I ordered the Sweet BBQ McSpicy with Chicken Bacon Special (S$8.90) which lack the egg and cheese but comes with a few strips of chicken bacon. Topped up S$1.15 to change the gassy drink to a medium Ice Lemon Tea. I still get that crispy chicken thigh patty and smoky BBQ crème sauce with crisp lettuce. The bacon add a crunch factor to the crispy chicken thigh. Maybe adding on the bacon to the Sweet BBQ McSpicy with Egg & Cheese would make it an even better burger.

Bought mum the Extra Value Meal of Filet-O-Fish (S$5.50) with medium French fries and a small drink. She loves the fluffy soft buns with the fried fish fillet. She didn’t care for the drink, so I left it in the fridge and drank it the next day.

mmm older childe carrying a lil extra weight on his waistline bc he finally settles down with zhongli, who loves nothing more than taking care of him. always a dragon at heart, gift giving is a major love language of his, and doting on childe feels like a behaviour intrinsically written into his DNA.

childe who's a little insecure when his clothes become a bit snug - not necessarily about his body, but because it means he's gone soft - and zhongli who shows him why soft is good. shows him just how much there is to love, how much more of him there is to grab and sink his teeth into. zhongli who kisses and praises his little stretch marks and worships every change in his body, any small difference that may have planted seeds of doubt in childe's mind.

worrying he and his insecurities are burdensome, zhongli assures childe that there's nothing more he loves to do than bring him to his favorite bakeries and restaurants and ply him with all of his favorite foods. watching his eyes light up, his tongue lick the crumbs from his fingers, his lips stain red from wine as he relishes every delicious bite, savors every rich taste.

zhongli is even happier seeing him enjoy his food; seeing him enjoy and settle into life, now that he has the time for it. the proof of this joy, manifesting in a soft, gently curving arc of a wider middle, in plumped thighs and rounded cheeks and a heavier frame when he sits in zhongli's lap, is only something to treasure. the archon more often that not finds himself touching childe with such affection; in public, in private, wherever they are, he cherishes the life they have together. he slides his hands over the gentle slope of his middle, pressing his fingers into the pillowy softness. he cups his face when he kisses him and brushes his thumbs across the apples of his cheeks, admiring the new gilded freckles. glides his hands over his thicker arms, widened hips, the tender flesh of his thighs, soaking in how beautiful he looks and how utterly divine he feels.

his stomach, in particular, zhongli admires. somewhere a little healthier to rest his head when sleepiness washes over the two and they snuggle close in bed, childe's fingers absently twirling his dark hair around his fingers. somewhere a little more nourished to settle his hands when he wakes up and the redhead is already making two coffees through a haze of sleep, smiling crookedly with hooded eyes and a gruff good morning when zhongli hugs him from behind. he nuzzles his own cheek against childe's. slips his hands over his inviting middle, palms fitting perfectly over the gentle swell of his warm belly. pressing innocent kisses to his neck, he slips his hands up his shirt to appreciatively sink his fingertips into the yielding softness, calming the small growls of morning hunger.

childe with little bite marks on his tummy chub. with finger print bruises on his thighs and pliant hips. with stretch marks and a plush cushioning to his body, built from the delight zhongli takes in providing him the life of luxury he deserves. signs of comfort, of care, of love, instead of just wounds and scars from a life of violence. zhongli finds himself warmed by the changes in his body and how comfortable he's gotten. looking after him is something he once feared the battle-addicted harbinger would not be able to live long enough to let him do; and now, both in retirement, he doesn't waste a single minute passing up the privilege to do so.

So, they finally found what was making me ill everytime i ate and it seems im both lactose and fructose intolerant :_)

I don’t care that much about lactose because i’ve been following a vegetarian diet with no dairy for years (that’s probably the reason im intolerant in the first place lol) but fructose will take onion and garlic plus most fruits out of my diet. IM MEDITERRANEAN, literally every dish here has onion and garlic, im so sad 😭

Long Distance

This is just a little thing I put together. I started it awhile back after getting off a long weekly call, and then finished it while anticipating another (so when the texts say today-- they really mean it!). I definitely added a few more cities to my weather app after making this. I think the merging phone calls is for conference calls, but considering that this weekend I answered a call only to discover it was the techie of the family trying to link calls between apple and android so we could hear each other right, and then proceeded to talk for at least a good hour, I feel like it had to go on there.

So, yeah, not really an analysis or anything, just vibes and feelings. :)

Went out with mum to go try out a newly opened restaurant at Sun Plaza. After dinner, we were on the way down to NTUC supermarket in the basement when we chanced upon McDonald’s Singapore new pineapple flavour soft serve. Mum said she wanted the ice cream so I queued for two of the Pineapple Cones (S$1.20 each). I love the tangy sweet flavour of real pineapple, not akin to the syrupy canned pineapple kind though mum doesn’t fancy it. I will be back for it before this limited item ends it run.

Still on the ice cream cone but this time it is Signature KingCone (魔天脆脆) from Chinese ice cream and tea chain Mixue (蜜雪冰城). I normally will not buy this dessert if the queue is too long but the S$1 soft serve cone with the extra crispy long waffle cone is pretty nice and yummy.

The last one is a free dessert I redeemed with my rewards card from Nine Fresh (九鲜). The Abundance Cup (金薯芋豆黑白配) is worth S$3.80 and comes with bean curd, grass jelly, red bean, sweet potato, yam and taro balls.

Saturday I didn't do much, as I just woke up way too late, that the day was basically already over. I did cook however. Semi-fried some onion, carrot, udon, karaage, and egg, then seasoned it with some soy sauce and pepper. Was satisfying to eat.

Then I was gaming a bit and snacked some delicious sweets. First was this sweet potato cake roll, with sweet potato dough outside and SP cream and vanilla whipped cream inside. The normal whipped cream was the best part, the rest was a bit disappointing, so only 3/5.

Later on I felt like having ice cream, so I ate this special edition of Häagen Dazs, from their 40th anniversary. Everybody knows mochi ice cream, right? But do you know ice cream with mochi? Lol. I honestly thought I misinterpreted the package - but it's really just mochi on top of chocolate ice cream. Häagen Dazs delivers anyway though, so this was also delicious, plus the chewy part of the mochi was nice, 4/5.
