2025: #13 The Wake-Up Call: stop wasting time and own ur education
⚠️ : harsh motivation

『Let me cut the bullshit and get straight to the point: you’re wasting your life. I said it. u sit there, complaining about school, whining about how “hard” it is, scrolling through your phone like the world owes u something Cuz it doesn’t. No one is coming to save your lazy ass.』
✒️..Cuz a big number of ppl think education is a joke !? You think skipping class, half-assing assignments, and coasting through life on autopilot is cute? Hell nah pookie. It’s fucking pathetic. While you’re sitting there making excuses—“I’m too tired,” “This subject is boring,” “I don’t see the point”—there’s someone out there grinding, pushing, sacrificing everything for the life you’re too scared to fight for.Do you know what it feels like to be stuck? To have doors slammed in your face because you didn’t put in the work? That’s the life you’re signing up for every time u choose to be lazy. Every time you say, “Fuck it, I’ll do it tomorrow,” you’re digging your own grave. You’re giving up on the one shot you have to make something of yourself.
But you’re not completely fucked yet.
Yeah, school sucks sometimes. I get it. Waking up early, dealing with uninspiring teachers, and subjects that feel pointless—it can feel like a waste. But here’s the truth: life doesn’t care. The world is cutthroat, and if you don’t show up, it’ll eat you alive. You either hustle, or you get crushed. That’s it.
So, what do you do? You fucking start. No more excuses, no more procrastinating. Here’s how to get your shit together:
1. Set a Fucking Goal
Stop floating around like a goddamn leaf in the wind. What do you want? What’s the dream? You can’t hit a target you don’t aim for. Write it down. Visualize it. Make it so real in your mind that you can taste it. Whether it’s becoming a doctor, starting a business, or simply getting out of your current situation—know your “why.”
2. Get Ruthless About Your Time
Stop wasting hours scrolling through TikTok, bingeing Netflix, or playing dumbass mobile games. Track your time. Every second you waste is a second you’re giving to someone who’s working harder than you. Use a planner, set alarms, make a schedule—whatever it takes to get shit done.
3. Start Small, Stay Consistent
You don’t have to study for eight hours on day one. Start with 30 minutes of focused work. Use the Pomodoro method: 25 minutes of pure focus, 5-minute break. Do that four times, and you’ve already put in two solid hours. Consistency beats motivation every damn time.
4. Stop Waiting for Motivation
Motivation is bullshit. It’s flaky, unreliable, and temporary. What you need is discipline. Discipline is doing what needs to be done, even when you don’t feel like it. Hate studying? Too bad. Set a timer and do it anyway. No one said this would be fun .l talked abt this click here !
5. Surround Yourself with Hungry People
If your friends are lazy, you’ll be lazy too. Cut out anyone who’s dragging you down. Find people who are grinding, who push you to be better, who make you uncomfortable in your mediocrity. If you can’t find those people, be that person. Lead the fucking way.
6. Own Your Failures
Stop blaming teachers, parents, or the system. If you failed, it’s on you. Take responsibility and learn from it. Failure isn’t the end—it’s feedback. It’s the world telling you where you need to improve. Use it.
7. Reward Yourself, But Only After You Earn It
Studied for two hours? Cool. Take a 15-minute break. Finished your assignment? Great. Watch an episode of your favorite show. But don’t let rewards come before the work. Earn your dopamine hits—they’ll feel a hell of a lot better.
8. Stop Romanticizing “Easy”
Nothing worth having comes easy. You’re not entitled to success; you have to fight for it. The grind is what separates the winners from the losers. Fall in love with the process, even when it sucks. Because that’s where growth happens.
9. Remember Who the Fuck You Are
You’re not some weak, helpless victim. You have the power to change ur life, but only if you stop feeling sorry for yourself. The world doesn’t owe you shit. You owe it to yourself to rise up, to push harder, to become the person you know you can be.
10. Think Long-Term
When you’re tempted to slack off, think about your future self. Five years from now, do you want to look back and say, “I gave it my all,” or do you want to drown in regret, wishing you could go back and do things differently? The choice is yours—every single day.
Stop Fucking Around
You’re not a kid anymore. This is your life. Every decision you make is shaping your future, whether you like it or not. You have one shot at this. Stop wasting it. Get off your ass, open your books, and start fighting for the life you want.
the pain of hard work is temporary, but the pain of regret lasts forever. So choose wisely. Do the work. Stay hungry. And when you’ve finally made it—when you’re living the life you once dreamed of—you’ll look back and thank yourself for not giving up.

Levelling Up Guide: Execution + Planning = Being THE Itgirl
All these women you admire and look up to? The ones living their dream lives, embodying their femininity, achieving their goals, and earning their success?
They’re no different from you. The only difference is this: they planned, they executed, and they refused to wait for anyone.
The It Girls who inspire you didn’t sit around waiting for the “right time” or making excuses. They mapped out their dreams, created actionable steps, and showed up for themselves every. single. day. And now? It’s your turn.
✨ 2025 is your year. This is the year you stop overthinking and start doing. The year you align with the woman you’ve always wanted to become. Your physical goals, wellness goals, business goals, and personal goals are already within reach—but here’s the truth: you have to stop wishing and start writing them down and taking action.
Here’s the formula for becoming your dream self:
Define your vision: Who is the woman you desire to become? What does her life look like? Write this down.
Break it down: Big goals feel overwhelming until you divide them into actionable, bite-sized steps.
Plan with intention: Map out daily, weekly, and monthly actions to get closer to your goals. Use a tool like the It Girl Glow-Up Planner to track every move.
Stay disciplined: It’s not about motivation—it’s about consistency. Show up, even when you don’t feel like it.
Celebrate your wins: Every small milestone is progress. Honor that and keep going.
Stop waiting for the perfect moment. The It Girls you admire didn’t wait to feel ready—they just started. They didn’t wait for permission or for someone to validate their dreams. And neither should you. You already have everything you need to succeed, as long as you’re willing to commit to the work.
🌟 Feminine, Focused, and Fearless The woman you’re becoming radiates confidence, beauty, and success—not because she’s “better” than anyone else, but because she’s intentional. She takes care of her body, nurtures her mind, and shows up for her goals.
So, if you’ve been holding yourself back, waiting for some external push to get started, this is your sign: now is the time to take action. Stop romanticizing the life you want and start building it.
Write it down. Execute the plan. Be THE It Girl.
I have spent time making this planner that has all the essentials to an execute a desired life, and since putting all my life categories in one and tracking my habits, my wellness and skincare etc everything has been aligning as I have been planning and executing and also analyzing my life.

2024 Journal Reflections

In 2024 I filled up 5 journals!! In 2023 I only filled up 2. Looking at the stats I did a daily journal entry about 50% of the time, and used the bullet journal spreads I created about 80% of the time. I wanted to figure out how often I wrote over one page but I couldn't figure out how to track that :/
This year I experimented A LOT with how I journaled, while some things stayed consistent. I use a catch all journal, so I carry around one journal and put everything in it for a few months and then start a new one when its full. I do a combo of bullet journaling, goal planning, memory keeping, daily vents/dumps, journal prompts, and art journaling.
This year I wanted seasonal/quarterly journals with consistent spreads and check ins. I have been a slut for the Archer and Olive A5 journal for maybe 5 years, but this year I tried new sizes and brands. While I did really enjoy trying new sizes, in 2025 I will be going back to the A5. I particularly enjoyed the larger B5 size to give me more space and add a little empty space to the pages instead of cramming them full. Unfortunately, A5 is more practical for keeping my journal in my purse. But I tried a Quirky Cup Collective journal and loved it so I have two more for next year!
One thing I loved was having consistent goal planning spreads across each journal, and to simplify that for 2025 I wrote my long term goals on cards to move into each journal as I go, and write monthly and weekly goals to support my goals for the year.
One of the huge successes of my year was using 3 different journaling practices consistently to support my mental health.
The first two are from The Artists Way, an incredibly famous self help book that I ended up loving but kind of cherry picking from rather than living by. From this book I took morning pages, the practice of writing 3 pages of stream of consciousness right when you wake up. I used it right when I got home from work instead and it really helped me relax and feel more positive as I transitioned into my evening. I probably didn't do it very consistently but I loved it. I also started writing affirmations out ten times, also from the Artists Way. Again, I wasn't very consistent but I like it!
The last one I used was 3 good things, a practice where you write down three good things daily, writing at least a paragraph per thing, trying to bring yourself back to the moment of feeling good. This came from the Science of Happiness podcast, and I did i consistently a few years ago.
My biggest failure was giving up on bullet journaling for October and November. I started school and decided I should use a planner to ensure I was staying on top of grad school stuff, and I kind of hated i and didn't use it. So. Back to bullet journaling. I have given up on bullet journaling many times over the years, as I do so much writing and feel like I should focus on that, but I always regret it.
This got really long, so I will make a seperate post going into what my plans are for next year!

week 1 | re-(centering, settling, organizing)
I embrace the new year with a cup of candy cane tea and a bare bullet journal whose only filled page resembles a coloring book. “2025” it announces, shaped from traced out (and colored in) vines that twist over one another to make the edges of the numbers. I have my “Quests” (new year’s resolutions) on one side, below a red (colored in) banner, and “Achievements” (unexpected, but defining experiences and moments in the new year) to the other, but of course, below its banner is empty space.
The hardest thing about new year’s resolutions is accepting that the goals you wrote— potentially scoured Pinterest for, if you’re anything like me, who deemed their ten-goal list (already difficult) too skimpy on paper— require you to start today. Not in a week or a few days.
2025 is already a week old, and I have yet to put on my retainers (one of the many habits I swore to start this year); I have been using my creative pursuits as excuses to put off the gritty work of starting my term readings early (to loosen the burden of the start of term) or starting a research database for my lab work (I was supposed to do this…weeks ago); and my tasks for the “ambitious, but not unattainable” days I scheduled preceding the end of break continue to be postponed, dragged onto future days, with previously-schedule tasks rescaled and reordered to compensate for my unproductiveness.
That isn’t to say I have been wasting this break. These past few days I have been easing myself back into a working mindset, doing the tedious, yet needed, tasks to set myself up for actually doing my larger goals: downloading and sorting readings for the term (if available), finding research programs to apply for, labs I would want to reach out to for those research programs, finally responding to neglected emails, and carrying out overdue action items from those message threads. I redid my notion for the year, scrapping the overcomplicated and overwhelming parts of my organization system that I just…didn’t use.
A small aside: I see so many YouTube videos and Instagram reels marketing Notion as a game changing software for productivity, and I would spend hours scouring free templates and downloading them, watching videos on how to format pages or organize my knowledge, and eventually attempting to build my own aesthetic system. Only to almost never use it. I had the same problem with the Hobinichi planner (which I spent a ridiculous amount of money shipping overseas)! Systems require upkeep and consistency, and while I am absolutely one of those types of people that need to write things down to remember them and need organization systems to structure their time and keep their goals in check, I think I fell into the trap of having too many systems in place. I would “touch and go,” skipping between my paper planner, to creating a daily page in notion, that I would inevitably forget to check any of my tasks off from, to sometimes even ripping a page out of my notebooks to create a makeshift to-do list if I felt like it.
Don't get me wrong, Notion is an incredible program to visually organize information and create a workflow! I just wanted to put my entire life into Notion, and the fact of the matter is that...*my* system was not working for me. It didn't make sense for me to split up my life into 20 different pages that I honestly forgot to check and keep up with. I have bursts of motivation, much like the dawn of a new year, to create all these new ways to see and pick apart my life on these programs, but I quickly lose stamina to keep up with all of them.
So, one of my primary goals for 2025 is to simplify and redesign my organization systems (including Notion) to cater to my lifestyle and priorities.
Being in uni with two jobs, being on board for a few student organizations, and studying biomedical engineering, I have found the most success in managing my day primarily with Google Calendar. I even downloaded the “Duration for Google Tasks” extension, so that I can assign tasks for specific time blocks and visually factor in the time estimated for completion into my plans around and beyond class and work schedules. This is how I best visualize my days and prioritize work for the week.
So, I massively simplified my Notion workplace to supplement what my Google ecosystem cannot adequately take care of for me. I almost use it as a control panel/dashboard, with dropdown yearly and quarterly goals; daily, weekly, and monthly habits; a dashboard to keep track of all my applications for internship and research opportunities; and for now, an “everything page” to organize and keep track of miscellaneous notes that I would like to find better homes for later. [A brief snapshot of my Notion page, affectionately also called "ary's garden" is below]
It’s not perfect, but it’s a start!
And as I progress throughout this "quarter" (I set the arbitrary end date of Q1 to Mar 29, 2025), I will keep and adapt what works and discard what doesn't. I just simply no longer have time to waste on systems that do not work for me.
And my bullet journal…will be more of a visual archive than a day-to-day task manager. I might write down some notes or visually plan out projects on its pages (instead of ripped out notebook pages I neatly fold and place into the depths of my backpack, never to be seen again), but it is not a part of my organizational system. It's more an art project than anything, and I am setting it up as such. Vision boards, photos, journal entries, ideas...we will see what I shall fill up this beautiful, blank journal with later, but this year I stop with the monthly and weekly spreads that beg for me to spill my life into its neatly traced boxes and under new list headings. This year, I accept the bujo for what it is: a hobby, that sometimes, I won't have time for.
I will update you all on how these changes impact my day-to-day operations and longer term achievements (or don’t). As I said before, we'll figure it out together!
[Above is a Salem the Cat gif from one of my favorite television shows, Sabrina the Teenage Witch (1996-2003), where he is sporting scholarly glasses sitting atop a book. He looks fabulous and unbothered, as always. Truly the vibe I'm trying to embody this new year]
Nevertheless, I didn’t start of 2025 on magically better footing simply because the calendar marked an ending and beginning or because my motivation shot up at the creation of resolutions. I spent much of this break resting and healing, and frankly, and I spent the first half week of 2025 doing the same. But, as the start of school again looms for the next few days, I actually feel restored and ready to take on the new year with all it promises...and requires of me.
I have applications to finish, readings to absorb, and a life to live. Guess I have to start today :)
Until next week, mis amores,
Ary

December lock in to do list : the last fresh month ⑅𑂳⠀ 🎟️⠀ᜓ⠀⠀ᰔᩚ ᮫

As the final month of the year rolls in, it’s the perfect time to reflect, reset, and make the most out of these last few weeks. Here's your ultimate December Lock-In To-Do List to end the year on a fresh note and prepare for the year ahead!
1. Reflect & Recharge:
Take time to reflect on your year so far—celebrate your wins and learn from the challenges.
Allow yourself to rest and recharge before diving into the new year.
Journal about your experiences and things you’ve learned.
2. Set Intentions for the New Year:
Get clear on what you want to accomplish in 2025—write down your goals and dreams.
Create a vision board or a digital mood board for inspiration.
Set small, achievable steps towards these big goals.
3. Organize & Declutter:
Tidy up your space—whether it’s your room, your study area, or your digital life.
Declutter your belongings, get rid of anything that no longer serves you.
Organize your files, notebooks, and study materials for the new year.
4. Master Time Management:
Set up a daily or weekly planner to help stay on track with your study and personal goals.
Break your tasks into smaller, manageable chunks, and stay consistent.
Use the Pomodoro technique for focus (it's my fav technique ): 25 minutes of studying, followed by a 5-minute break.
5. Focus on Self-Care:
Stick to a skincare routine to keep your skin fresh and healthy.
Get at least 6 to 7 or 8 hours of sleep each night and practice relaxation techniques like meditation . (My timetable don't allow me to sleep 8h 🥹 )
Nourish your body with balanced meals, hydration, and gentle exercise.
6. Prepare for Finals & Tests:
Review your notes and start preparing early for any upcoming exams or projects.
Set study goals each day—focus on one subject at a time to avoid burnout.
Use active learning methods: rewrite notes ,practice with mock tests, flashcards, and past papers.
7. Learn Something New (Mandarin):
Make a goal to learn something new this month—(for me it's Mandarin) for example new language or sports.. skill you’ve been curious about.
Dedicate 15-30 minutes a day to practice through apps or free website classes .
Keep your learning fun and engaging by practicing speaking, listening, and writing.
8. Boost Focus & Motivation:
Visualize your success and stay motivated throughout December by setting daily goals.
Reward yourself after completing tasks—small celebrations can keep you motivated.
Create a playlist that energizes you while studying or working. (Click to listen to my Spotify playlists !)
9. Stay Positive & Stay Grateful:
Make gratitude a habit by writing down 3 things you’re grateful for every day.
Reflect on the positive things in your life and keep a positive mindset, especially when things get tough.
- ! Remember, this is a fresh month—anything is possible!

🍃We've received the following questions on our IC🍃
Q: What happens if the artist finishes their artwork early? Is that allow? And what about newcomers, who are artists helping create zines?
A: Artists will have 3 check in and 1 final submission due dates. If you have finished your piece ahead of the schedule, you will be able to submit it at the next available submission due date.
Q: If I would like to have a physical copy and I'm from another country (Assuming mods are on USA) would you be able to send it?
A: Yes! The mod team is located in the USA and we will be offering international shipping. Please be aware that this will be more expensive, though.
Q: I was wondering if you'd ever consider having writers as well. Either like just little snippets for each month or like a digital collection where there's one writer for each month or something
A: The mod team has been considering this and already has a plan for next year!
Q: There is another 2025 bkdk planner/calendar directly competing with this project. I’m concerned that will affect this project’s success as most people will be forced to choose one over the other. Is it possible to push the timeline for this project to avoid that?
A: Although we don't view other zines/projects as competitors (this is all for fun, after all!), we have considered this. We would like to have all calendars sent out by January 2025 by the latest. If we were to push back the schedule this would affect our shipping time frame.
Q: Would it be okay to apply if I’m not from US?
A: Absolutely! We encourage everyone to apply if they would like to.
We hope that we were able to answer your questions and if you have any further questions, feel free to reach out on Retrospring or through our DMs! Thank you.

Unlocking Business Growth: How Search Intent Drives Profitability
Why Search Intent is a Game-Changer for Your Business
In the digital world, ranking high on search engines isn’t just about keywords—it’s about understanding search intent. Search intent refers to the reason behind a user’s query. Are they looking for information, comparing products, or ready to buy? Knowing this can help businesses align their content with user needs, leading to better engagement, conversions, and ultimately, profits.
The Four Types of Search Intent
Informational Intent – Users are looking for answers (e.g., “What is search intent in SEO?”).
Navigational Intent – Users seek a specific website or brand (e.g., “LinkedIn login page”).
Transactional Intent – Users are ready to take action (e.g., “Buy SEO tools online”).
Commercial Investigation – Users compare products or services before making a decision (e.g., “Best SEO software 2025”).
Why Search Intent Matters for SEO
Higher Rankings – Google prioritizes pages that best match user intent.
Better User Experience – Satisfying search intent keeps users engaged.
More Conversions – Targeting the right intent leads to better sales and leads.
Lower Bounce Rate – Relevant content reduces site exits and improves retention.
How to Optimize Your Business for Search Intent
Perform Keyword Research: Use tools like Google Keyword Planner or Ahrefs to identify intent-driven keywords.
Analyze SERP Results: Check top-ranking pages to understand user expectations.
Create Intent-Specific Content: Develop blogs, product pages, and landing pages that match different intent types.
Use Clear CTAs: Guide users based on their intent (e.g., “Download now” for informational intent, “Buy now” for transactional intent).
Monitor & Adjust: Use analytics tools to track performance and tweak strategies accordingly.
How Search Intent Increases Profitability
By aligning content with search intent, businesses attract highly targeted visitors who are more likely to convert into customers. This reduces wasted marketing spend, enhances brand authority, and drives sustainable growth.
Final Thoughts
Understanding and leveraging search intent is no longer optional—it’s essential for online success. If you want to boost your rankings, increase conversions, and maximize profitability, start aligning your content strategy with what users are actively searching for.
