Biden and Trump end primary election season with easy victories in 4 states
US incumbent President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump easily won Tuesday’s primary election in the states of Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, and South Dakota.
It was Trump’s first appearance on the ballot since he faced a historic hush money trial in New York last week. The former president won uncontested in New Jersey with 98% of the vote. Biden also won in New Jersey with an easy 88% of the vote, although nearly 9% of voters checked the “uncommitted” box at the polls.
Trump won New Mexico with 84 per cent of the vote, where voters could still vote for rivals who had dropped out of the Republican presidential race. Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, who ended her presidential campaign in March and announced a fortnight ago that she would vote for Trump in the November 5 presidential election, still won nearly 9% of the vote in New Mexico. Biden, meanwhile, got 84% in New Mexico, but again lost 9% to the “uncommitted” ballot option.
Trump won the Montana primary with 87% of the vote, but lost 10% of the vote to the “no preference” option. Biden won 91% of the vote there.
Biden won a majority of the vote in South Dakota with 73 per cent. But he lost 12 per cent of the vote to little-known challenger Marianne Williamson and 11 per cent of the vote to Minnesota Congressman Dean Phillips, another prominent Democratic candidate. Trump, meanwhile, was the only Republican candidate in South Dakota and was declared the winner by that state’s Republican Party.
There was also a Democratic Party primary in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, which Biden won with 87 per cent of the vote.
There are only a few contests left before the primary election season is over. However, these elections are merely a formality, as both Biden and Trump have long since secured the necessary number of delegates needed to secure their parties’ nominations.
Trump now has 2,243 delegates, nearly double the required 1,215 delegates. He will officially accept his party’s nomination at the Republican Party National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, which will be held from July 15 to 18.
Biden, meanwhile, has 3,864 delegates, which is also nearly double the required 1,968 delegates. He will officially receive his party’s nomination at the Democratic Party National Convention in Chicago, Illinois, which will be held August 19-22.

Tumblr media
A previous PS4 game of the year has been reduced to $1.99 for a limited period as part of a new PlayStation Store offer. After September 14, the PS4 game will revert to its regular pricing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWkKx0GLa5Q The game in issue was released in 2014, which is largely regarded as one of the worst years in gaming history. As you may recall, there were two major game of the year winners in 2014: Dragon Age: Inquisition and Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. Rome (IT) Ch QF: Sumit Nagal def. Max Houkes 7-5, 6-0 mid-match stats (2nd set)
Tumblr media
📸 ATP Challenger Livestream (via website)
The consistency and pressure point said it all. Everything went south for Houkes when Nagal started to discover his level in the middle of the first se, which allowed Nagal to prevail by the end of this match.
Neither Nagal nor Houkes scored an ace throughout the match. However, Houkes’ 5 double faults did not contribute anything to his betterment in the second set, since it was a consequence of his serves being pressured upon being broken late in the first set. Furthermore, it resulted in his second serves’ vulnerability, while Nagal’s first serves stood out since he won 87% of his points from there.
Houkes also had his chances with the 2 break points he had during the eighth game in the first set, thanks to his forehand. As if it was the two sides of a coin, his forehand was also a liability under pressure, which resulted in his chances being fumbled because of Nagal’s clutchness. Nagal then took the opportunity to produce more winners (including some forehand passes), catching Houkes off-guard in the process. This enough put more pressure on him, hence he was able to serve it out nicely when it mattered: solidifying his position in the match, serving for the set, and emerging victorious altogether.
In his other clay Challenger semifinal, Nagal will face the winner between Joris de Loore and Alexander Ritschard, which match is still ongoing as this was written. While there could be a good chance to face de Loore, Ritschard would also not be easy either. With Nagal aiming for his first clay Challenger final of the year, this should be an interesting match to look forward to.

Top 10 spinners in the world
In all forms of cricket, spinners have been deceiving the batsmen for years with their web of spin. Since its inception, spin bowling has developed as an art form. Any batsman's ability to stay on the wicket is hampered by the abundance of variations available, including googly, topspin, slider, and flipper. Only after developing the ability to spin the ball well against the opposition can it be employed as a weapon. Any team they play for would be lucky to have them as a match winner.
Tumblr media
Here’s a list of Top 10 spinners in the world –
1. Shane warne
Undoubtedly, Shane Warne is the finest test match spinner of all time. For almost two decades, he was the best match winner for Australia. He took 40 wickets in the 2005 Ashes, 16 more than any other player on either side, even though his team lost. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, the Australian cricket squad was virtually unbeatable and ruled the sport. He was skilled and could bowl endlessly with such accuracy. His mental tricks were sufficient to render batsmen helpless before they even confronted a ball. The men's test squad selected by Shane Warne for the decade 719 test match wickets were taken by Warne, who had a 25.42 bowling average. 37 five-wicket hauls and 10 ten-wicket hauls were taken by him.
2. Muttiah Muralitharan
The majority of the test matches that were played in Sri Lanka were won by Sri Lanka thanks to their bowling, which also guaranteed that they would stay competitive away from home. Batsmen found it challenging to choose which stroke to play against Muralitharan because of how much he spun the ball. When he used his doosra, hitters had a difficult time picking him because it was so deadly. With 800 wickets at the conclusion of his career, Murali had the most of any bowler in test history. He has the highest bowling average of any spinner on this chart at 22.73. In the modern age, 67 five-wicket hauls and 22 ten-wicket hauls are practically unimaginable.
3. Anil Kumble
Anil Kumble represented India in 132 test matches and amassed 619 test match wickets with a bowling average of 29.65. He was a great bowler at home, taking 350 wickets at just 24.89 on surfaces that were primarily used for batting. He also had success in Zimbabwe, the West Indies, and South Africa, where he averaged close to 30. Kumble amassed 15 wickets in Bangladesh at a meagre 16.53. He didn't have as much ball spin as Warne or Muralitharan, which may be the reason he couldn't get as much out of foreign surfaces. He was extremely intelligent, though, which enabled him to manage the run rate while India was travelling. For a leg-spinner, Kumble's total economy of 2.70 is impressive.
4. Saqlain Mushtaq
Saqlain Mushtaq's game altered the entire game, despite the fact that he may not have taken as many wickets as the other players on the list. Saqlain is well known for developing the wellliked "Doosra."When Saqlain Mushtaq arrived, legspin was becoming more and more of an art form while off spinners were at their lowest point. Then, however, Saqlain revived offspin bowling by inventing his "doosra" and revolutionising the sport. Saqlain has taken 496 wickets in international play, including 288 in tests and 208 in ODIs.
5. Daniel Vettori
Daniel Vettori, who made his international cricket debut in 1997 at the age of 18, is still the youngest player to represent New Zealand. He is regarded as one of the all-time greats of the game in addition to being the best spin bowler New Zealand has ever created. One of the few spinners with more than 300 wickets at the international level was Vettori, who used his leftarm orthodox spin to weaponize various variations against batsmen. His highest scores in an innings at the Test level are 7/87, in ODI play they are 5/7, and in T20 they are 4/20.
6. Lance Gibbs
When fast bowlers were meant to be the backbone of any team, Lance Gibbs, one of the best spinners of his era, preserved the art of slow bowling. He achieved 300 wickets in the longer form of the game, becoming the first slow orthodox bowler to do so. On February 5, 1958, at Queen's Park Oval in Port of Spain, the off spinner made his debut against Pakistan. He held four wickets in the match, which his side won by 120 runs. The best figures were 8 for 38 runs in an innings and 11 for 157 for a match. He participated in 79 matches and held 309 wickets at an average cost of 29.09 runs per wicket.
7. Abdul Qadir
The moniker Abdul Qadir is one that no real sports fan can ever forget. On numerous instances, this Pakistani leg spinner has completely destroyed the opposition. He participated in 67 test matches for Pakistan and has 236 catches to his credit. He also has the greatest bowling statistics of any Pakistani bowler. Against England in 1987, Qadir claimed 9 wickets for 56 runs. Abdul Qadir is without a doubt one of the greatest leg spinners of all time, with a variety of bowling techniques up his sleeve, particularly the googly that caused more damage to the opposition.
8. Nathan Lyon
Although Nathan Lyon lacks Ravi Ashwin's variety, he has still been able to help Australia win many test matches both at home and overseas. Due to his bowling technique and use of overspin, Lyon ultimately defeats Ashwin in SENA (South Africa, England, New Zealand, Australia). Lyon's statistics in New Zealand, England, and Australia are 22.60, 31.62, and 32.02, respectively. He hasn't been as productive in the subcontinent as Ashwin, but he has performed admirably against batters who are excellent against spin.
9. Rashid Khan
Rashid Khan is a well known associate player whose skills are on par with the finest in the world. The Afghan spinner's toolbox contains a dozen distinct variations, making him virtually unplayable. Rashid has participated in numerous t20 leagues around the world and is frequently referred to as the greatest spinner in the world by both critics and fans. He has appeared in 135 international cricket games and claimed 277 wickets, the majority of which have come in T20I and ODI matches. Rashid is without a doubt the greatest spinner in the world right now.
10. Derek Underwood
Derek Underwood, a left arm spinner and was the greatest magician of his time, achieving astonishing results for England and having the ability to cast lengthy spells that had favourable effects. On June 30, 1966, at Trent Bridge in Nottingham, he played his first game against the West Indies. He played in 86 Test matches and has taken 297 wickets at an average of 25.83, with his best figures being 8 for 51 runs in an innings and 13 for 71 in a game.

Some anons don't seem to grasp what the Academy Awards are looking for these days when they award Best Picture. It's certainly not a flashy thriller with the emphasis on aesthetics.
Here are the past five winners:
Best Picture Winners, Academy Awards (Oscars)
2022: Coda. Film about a deaf girl.
Metacritic: 74%
Budget: $10m
2021: Nomadlands. Based on a book about real-life nomads and survival on road. Metacritic: 93%
Budget: $5m.
2020: Parasite. Korean thriller focusing on the harm done by class discrimination. Metacritic: 96% Budget: $15.5m.
2019: Green Book. Racism, music and friendship in the segregated Deep South in 1962.
Metacritic: 69% Budget: $23m.
2018: The Shape of Water. Love story between a woman and a fish man who supposedly represents society's pariahs.
Metacritic: 87% Budget: $20m.
As Mod said, My Policeman fits right in with these small budget films about minority groups IF it has been directed sympathetically and the acting is excellent. If Harry is wooden it stands no chance. Nearly all of them also had huge critical acclaim with multiple 5* reviews.

Sheryl Swoopes
Tumblr media
Sheryl Denise Swoopes (born March 25, 1971) is an American former professional basketball player. She was the first player to be signed in the WNBA, is a three-time WNBA MVP, and was named one of the league's Top 15 Players of All Time at the 2011 WNBA All-Star Game. Swoopes has won three Olympic gold medals and is one of ten women's basketball players to have won an Olympic gold medal, an NCAA Championship, and a WNBA title. She was elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016. In 2017, she was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame.
Early success
Born in Brownfield, Texas, Swoopes was raised by her mother, Louise Swoopes, and played basketball with her three older brothers. She began competing at age seven in a local children's league called Little Dribblers. She played basketball at Brownfield High School.
College years
Initially recruited by the University of Texas, Swoopes left the school shortly after her arrival without playing a game and enrolled at South Plains College. After playing at South Plains for two years, Swoopes transferred to Texas Tech, near her hometown.
In 1993, Swoopes won the NCAA women's basketball championship with the Texas Tech Lady Raiders during her senior season. Her jersey was retired by the school the following year, making her one of only three Lady Raiders to be honored in this way. The others are Carolyn Thompson and Krista Kirkland, Swoopes' teammate from the 1993 championship team.
As of 2010, Swoopes was still a part of the women's basketball record books in many categories, including single-game scoring record (53 points on March 13, 1993 vs. Texas, tied for tenth place), single-season scoring (955 points in the 1993 season, fourth place), highest championship tournament scoring average (35.4 in the 1993 tournament, second place), best single-game championship scoring performance (47 points vs. Ohio State, 1993 championship), which broke Bill Walton's record, and scoring record for championship series (177 points, five games). She set the record for the most field goals in the championship game with 16.
Swoopes also set several school records at Texas Tech. She scored 0 points in the 1992–93 season, which is an all-time scoring record for a single season (as of 2006). Swoopes' 24.9 points-per-game average for her career is the best in school history; she also boasts zero triple-doubles and 23 double-doubles, 14 of which came during her senior year.
Swoopes was the 1993 winner of the Naismith College Player of the Year award, was selected as that year's WBCA Player of the Year, and was chosen to the Division I All-American squad in both 1992 and 1993. Swoopes was named the 1993 Sportswoman of the Year (in the team category) by the Women's Sports Foundation.

USA Basketball
Swoopes was named to the USA national team and competed in the 1994 World Championships, held in June 1994 in Sydney, Australia. The team was coached by Tara VanDerveer, and won their first six games, when they faced Brazil. In a closely contested, high-scoring game, Brazil hit 10 of 10 free throws in the final minute to secure a 110–107 victory. The USA won a close final game against Australia 100–95 to earn the bronze medal. Swoopes averaged 9.1 points per game, while recording seven steals, second-highest on the team.
Swoopes was selected to represent the US at the 1995 USA Women's Pan American Games, but only four teams committed to participate, so the event was cancelled.
Swoopes continued as a member of the USA team at the 1996 Olympics, held in Atlanta, Georgia. The USA team won all their pool play games by large margins, although they were behind Cuba by as many as seven points before Lisa Leslie's 24 points helped the USA take over the game.
In 2002, Swoopes was named to the national team which competed in the World Championships in Zhangjiagang, Changzhou, and Nanjing, China. The team was coached by Van Chancellor. Swoopes scored 16.9 points per game, second-highest on the team and recorded a team-high 24 steals. The USA team won all nine games, including a close title game against Russia, which had a one-point difference late in the game.
Swoopes was named to the National Team representing the US at the 2006 World Championships, held in Barueri and Sao Paulo, Brazil. The team won eight of their nine contests, but the lone loss came in the semifinal medal round to Russia. The USA beat Brazil in the final game to earn the bronze medal. Swoopes, hampered by injuries, averaged 3.0 points per game and was second on the team with six blocks.
WNBA career
Swoopes was recruited for the Houston Comets of the WNBA during the 1997 inaugural season. She returned only six weeks after giving birth to her son to play the last third of the WNBA inaugural season and lead the Comets in the 1997 WNBA Championship. As a member of the Houston Comets, she has accumulated over 2,000 career points, 500 career rebounds, 300 career assists, and 200 career steals. Her extraordinary scoring and defensive ability have made her the first three-time WNBA MVP (2000, 2002, and 2005) and the first three-time WNBA Defensive Player of the Year (2000, 2002, and 2003). Swoopes is a four-time WNBA champion (1997–2000).
Swoopes is the second player in WNBA history to win both the regular season MVP award and the All-Star Game MVP award in the same season. The first player to accomplish this was Lisa Leslie. Swoopes is also the first player in WNBA history to record a triple-double in both the regular season and the playoffs.
Swoopes gained national prominence when she won the gold medal with the USA Basketball Women's National Team at the 1996 Olympic Games and became a focal point of the fledgling WNBA. The 1996 Olympic win over Brazil (117–87) is considered by some to be the "best woman's basketball game they'd ever seen." She is a three-time Olympic gold medalist (1996, 2000, and 2004).
Swoopes is the first women's basketball player to have a Nike shoe named after her: the "Air Swoopes".
On March 3, 2008, Swoopes signed with the Seattle Storm, ending her 11-year career with the Houston Comets. She was waived by the Storm on February 3, 2009.
Two days after her 40th birthday in 2011, sources for the Associated Press claimed that Swoopes was preparing to return to the WNBA in anticipation of an official signing announcement from the Tulsa Shock. At the 2011 WNBA All-Star Game, she was announced as one of the top 15 players in the 15-year history of the WNBA.
On August 26, 2011, the 40-year-old Swoopes hit a buzzer-beating shot to edge the Los Angeles Sparks 77–75 and end the Shock's WNBA-record 20-game losing streak.
Swoopes became an unrestricted free agent after the 2011 season: Tulsa Shock owner Steve Swetoha announced on 15 February 2012 that the team did not intend to offer Swoopes a new contract. As of the beginning of the 2012 preseason on 5 May, Swoopes remained an unsigned free agent. While no official announcement has been made, when Swoopes began blogging at the Shape magazine website during the 2012 Olympic Summer Games, she identified herself as "a former professional basketball player." In 2016, she was voted into the WNBA Top 20@20, in celebration of the league's 20th anniversary.

Post-playing career
In 2008, Sheryl Swoopes made an appearance on Shirts & Skins, a reality series on Logo TV. Swoopes mentored the San Francisco Rockdogs, a gay basketball team, and shared her experiences on basketball, family, faith, and coming out.
In 2010, Swoopes was an assistant basketball coach at Mercer Island High School in Washington.
Swoopes was a color analyst for the Texas Tech women's basketball broadcast during the 2012–2013 season.
In 2013, Swoopes became head coach of the Loyola University Chicago women's basketball team. In April 2016, Loyola announced that it was investigating Swoopes of alleged mistreatment, after the school newspaper reported that 10 of the team's players have either transferred or want a release from their scholarships. On July 4, 2016, Loyola announced it had fired Swoopes as a result of the investigation but declined to say what it had found.
In July 2017, Swoopes returned to her alma mater, Texas Tech, hired as the women's basketball program's Director of Player Development, where her job included resuming work as broadcast color analysis for Lady Raiders games. Following the firing of head coach Candi Whitaker on January 1, 2018, Swoopes was promoted to regular assistant coach under interim head coach Shimmy Gray-Miller.
Personal life
Swoopes was married from June 1995 to 1999 to her high school sweetheart, with whom she has one son, Jordan Eric Jackson (b. 1997).
In October 2005, Swoopes announced she was gay, becoming one of the highest-profile athletes in a team sport to do so publicly. Swoopes said, "it doesn't change who I am. I can't help who I fall in love with. No one can. ... Discovering I'm gay just sort of happened much later in life. Being intimate with [Alisa] or any other woman never entered my mind. At the same time, I'm a firm believer that when you fall in love with somebody, you can't control that." She and her partner, former basketball player and Houston Comets assistant coach Alisa Scott, together raised Swoopes' son. The couple broke up in 2011. Later that year, Swoopes got engaged to Chris Unclesho, a longtime male friend; the couple wed after a long engagement on July 21, 2017.
Awards and honors
Swoopes won the female Associated Press Athlete of the Year award in 1993. The same year, she also won the Honda Sports Award for basketball and the WBCA Player of the Year award. She was named one of the 20 female athletes of the decade for 2000 to 2010 by Sports Illustrated. She was named an LGBT History Month Icon by the Equality Forum.

Richmond: 2019 AFL Premiers
Tumblr media
RICHMOND waited 37 long years for premiership success.
It now has two flags in three seasons.
The 'Dimma Dynasty' started on a sunny Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It was just as invigorating and exciting two years on, as Damien Hardwick's remarkable group brushed aside Grand Final rookies Greater Western Sydney on its way to an emphatic 89-point win.
The Tigers tackled, harassed and drove forward with the relentlessness they have become renowned for throughout their three years of dominance, inspired by an unstoppable mix of genius coaching, tremendous individual talent and astonishing team cohesion.
Richmond's 17.12 (114) to 3.7 (25) Grand Final victory was the product of that combination – a demonstration of all that has made it the best team of 2019.
Hardwick thwarted his opposite number Leon Cameron, particularly in an outstanding second-quarter display where the Tigers completely overwhelmed the Giants in all areas of the ground to kick five unanswered goals and lay the foundations for their emphatic win.
He also had the players to execute his vision.
Dustin Martin, once again, was sublime. Whether it was in the midfield, where he collected 22 disposals and three clearances, or forward, where he slotted four goals and had eight score involvements, he was the game's most influential figure.
DUSTY'S DOUBLE Martin in elite company with second Norm Smith
A second Norm Smith Medal – making him just the fourth player to be a dual winner of the award behind Gary Ayres, Andrew McLeod and Luke Hodge – was just reward for his stunning display, as the Richmond favourite etched his name in the record books.
Jack Riewoldt and Tom Lynch – the League's most dominant forward duo – combined for seven goals. Riewoldt had three in the second quarter alone and finished with five for the match, while Lynch was a constant presence to haul down seven big marks.
Bachar Houli (26 disposals) and Dion Prestia (22 disposals) were their prolific selves, while Shane Edwards, Kane Lambert and Nick Vlastuin were also typically consistent.
Then there was the Grand Final debutant, Marlion Pickett. One game, one flag.
The 27-year-old was lively, involved and, at times, special. He repaid Hardwick's faith and then some, finishing with 22 disposals, eight inside 50s, nine score involvements and a maiden AFL goal on an unforgettable afternoon for the club's boom recruit.
But the manner in which they were able to showcase their individual flair, without ever straying from Hardwick's methodical and trained system, was evident from the outset.
In fact, it helped stamp their authority on the contest.
While the Giants had become renowned for their pressure throughout September, it was the Tigers who were turning the tables throughout the opening stages on Saturday.
They hunted in packs, chased relentlessly and tackled as though their lives depended on it.
The only problem was, they couldn't take advantage of their dominance.
Richmond kicked three behinds from its first 10 entries to start the match, allowing GWS to regain some composure and resulting in a nervous period of flux for both sides.
Turnovers and lamentable mistakes became the order of the day, until Jeremy Cameron flushed a shot from beyond 50m for the game's first goal – 21 minutes into the match.
All of a sudden, the Tigers needed a spark. Enter Martin.
Pushed deep forward, he wriggled clear of Heath Shaw, marked strongly and bent his shot around the corner to eventually get the yellow and black faithful back on their feet.
Daniel Rioli followed it with a bomb on the buzzer and the momentum carried Richmond into the break and beyond, as the Tigers stormed away with the contest.
Pickett was blind-turning tacklers, Jason Castagna was leaping above defenders, Riewoldt was bending them around corners and Dusty was just being Dusty.
The result was a 35-point lead in a flash by half-time.
Each Tiger goal – all five of them, kicked one after the other – was met with exceedingly raucous cheers, as the Punt Road end celebrated what was quickly becoming inevitable.
The Giants went some way to stemming the bleeding by the break. However, in reality, they quite simply couldn't lay a glove on the Tigers. They were held goalless for the entirety of the second quarter, as a disaster unfolded in front of them.
But if they thought the main change would end the nightmare, they were wrong.
Lynch added the first of the second half, before Martin snapped another from deep inside the boundary. The third was the cream on top of a yellow and black cake.
Martin delivered to Pickett, who slotted his first goal in senior footy in typically calm fashion. All 18 Richmond players on the field immediately swarmed the debutant.
THE MOMENT Debutant's maiden goal hands Tigers a Hollywood ending
Pickett adds to the perfect story It became a training drill for the Tigers, who ultimately booted 11 straight goals – the large majority of which were slotted under very little pressure – before the Giants responded.
But the response was tame, to say the least.
TEN THINGS WE LEARNED GWS decision backfires, Tiger courage rewarded
While youngster Tim Taranto (30 disposals, seven tackles) fought hard all day and veteran Shaw (29 disposals, 14 marks) was tireless, it was unsurprisingly not enough.
And with a 62-point deficit at three-quarter time, there was little left to play for late.
Instead, it became a Richmond party, as players lined up for their shot at goal. They added five more in the final term, with captain Trent Cotchin's – delivered from beyond 50m out after a couple of bounces – resulting in perhaps the biggest cheer of the afternoon.
Captain Cotch joins the Tigers' party The final siren mirrored that joy, sparking yet more wild scenes of Richmond celebrations.
Once a rarity, September success now seems like a regular Tiger occurrence.
