Robin

* she definitely has a sweet tooth! And even though she doesn't admit it, she loves it when you feed her bites of your chosen cakes.

* girl takes you out to the fanciest yet cutest dates ever! she loves going to cafés and just enjoying your company. She insists on paying for you and she adores you for taking her out for something simble like bubble tea. Obviously, there would be some (a lot of) people recognizing her but after making your relationship public they would leave you two alone.

* Robin doesn't really display affection in public, afraid of any nosy tabloids bothering you. Sometimes you two hold hands though. At home, she suprises you with hugs from behind and loves kissing you on the lips and on your hands.

Firefly

* She loves giving you handmade gifts like bracelets and necklaces! She gets very shy when she gifts those to you and turns super red.

* In public she displays her affection for you by hand holding or quick pecks on the cheek. In private she's really cuddly and likes resting her head on your lap.

* Firefly might seem meek, but if you get mean comments about stuff you're insecure about, she immediately defends you. Even if you're taller than her, she would jump in front of you, ready to fight / curse out anyone. It's so adorable.

* She adores spending time with you outside and taking walks with you. That's why stargazing at night with some cuddling and hand holding, as well as picnics are her favorite dates!

Aventurine

* Aventurine loves to show you off in public and isn't shy to display physical affection. He keeps his hands on you at all times, be it by holding your hands or wrapping an arm around your waist. He has an adorable habit of linking just your pinkys when you're taking a stroll sometimes.

* In the safety of your shared home, if there's time and he's got no work, he loves to cook for or with you. Spending time with you like that makes him genuinely happy and he cherishes those moments.

* In the casino, he keeps you on his lap and always tells you his lucky charm. He let's you roll his dices and sometimes even pick his cards. He fully trusts you.

* Sometimes he tells you that he loves you in avgin. Those vulnerable moments are rare but you're more than happy he's that comfortable with you.

Omg!! I absolutely love the idea of a Robinhill poly!! The mutual worry goes insane, and I’ll make sure to marinate their experiences in a seasoning of their experiences!

Boothill is a man who knows what loss is. After all, loss sent him on his journey, and bore a seed of vengeance in him. For Robin, loss was immaterial. It was what she felt to be loss of freedom, and loss of close ties. In that Robin and Boothill understood each other, and their experiences, albeit similar on the surface, shaped them differently.

Boothill is protective from his past experiences; scared that if he doesn’t hold his close ones, they’ll slip to never be seen again. The fear of further loss, embraced by his single-mindedness as a Galaxy Ranger, is quite the shake to deal with. It’s worsened by a sense of posessiveness, creating a similarly determined approach with you.

Robin however knows how it feels to be left with limited options, and so despite her ever-growing affection to you, she is rather reasonable. She can’t stop her feelings, but she can judge things from another perspective as well; Boothill never doubted her abilities or expertise when they combated the monkey-virus, after all. And, despite his possessiveness and jealousy, he knows she can take care of himself. She truly is an angel, in all the meanings of this word.

Then again there’s you, too, fortunate or unfortunate enough to have their gazes on you. Perhaps it is Robin to initiate, and perhaps it is Boothill. Both work out in the end; one way or another, their relationship based on trust and understanding starts to encase you too. Maybe not in the same understanding or trustful way, but still, it is based upon care for your being.

I believe Robin and Boothill may initially find their ideals to crash, it doesn’t lead to an argument. With your person, Boothill believes that the best course of action was to protect what he likes most; you, and Robin. Robin however understands it, and given she likes Boothill too, there is no fuss around the topic. Therefore no extreme measures need to be taken.

In your case… compliance isn’t promised, that’s what Boothill had told “singing queen” when discussing you over lunch. Because in case of you rejecting them, how can they ensure your safety? Robin does not wish to cage you. Boothill believes the only way to ensure safety would be to keep an eye on you, supervised.

And, given your acceptance isn’t promised, Robin is fairly easy to convince. While she doesn’t plan to hold you hostage - goodness, no. She’d never do that to someone else - she can try other ways of conviction. If you understand their care, then you’ll surely choose to stay; that is something that Boothill can get behind.

And, if you choose to stay, then it’s not keeping a bird in a cage.

Their mutual care for each other extends equally to you, really! I mean, Boothill can take care of himself! And, Robin is intelligent, she did well all this time too, dealing with so many things. . .

You have to understand why it’s just different with you. You have to.

Maybe she will have to.. tune you slightly. Slightly, promise, it’s not even going to hurt! Boothill and Robin mutually don’t want anyone’s feelings hurt. And so it’s unacceptable if you offend either of them as well - same as if you were being treated badly.

Obsessive care and being protective of you isn’t bad treatment, however. You simply have different needs from them. That’s it.

Lawbin Headcanons 

Summary: Early stages of Lawbin. This whole thing is basically Law being a dork who’s constantly trying to play it cool while falling for the weird girl (Robin, I love you, never change). 

Characters: Trafalgar Law x Nico Robin

Genre: Fluff

When Robin met the Captain of the Heart Pirates, the Surgeon of Death and a Warlord of the Sea, Dr. Trafalgar Law, she didn’t trust him, not even for a second. Recall, she has extensive experience with Warlords and would have died at the hands of one if Luffy hadn’t saved her despite her own insistence he leave her to die. As soon as she meets Law, she swears to herself that if things go sour, Luffy won’t be saving her and, in fact, she’ll be saving Luffy. She won’t let the Warlord take a shot at her Captain, and she takes Luffy’s proposition that if the alliance goes bad, the crew will have his back, to heart.  

For the longest time, that’s how Robin thinks of Law: the Warlord. She never talks about it, but she has PTSD from her time with Crocodile. She had never known peace or solace in her life; the safest position she’d had before joining the Straw Hats was as the right hand of a man who ultimately viewed her as expendable. And Sir Crocodile wasn’t just any man, he was a pirate brimming with power and eerily intelligent, with a mind for strategy. Just like Traffy, whose insistence on planning out every little detail and having a backup plan for every backup plan takes Robin right back to Alabasta. 

Robin becomes a little obsessed with comparing him to Crocodile. She zeroes in on his willingness to make small sacrifices for the greater cause, his analytical nature and reserved emotions, his apparent lack of friends. Only, Traffy went to great lengths to help the Straw Hats rescue the children on Punk Hazard, and he didn’t take the opportunity to be too cruel to Smoker and Tashigi despite having them chained in front of him. But that doesn’t stop her from trying to make him into Crocodile 2.0.  

And then there’s Law, who’s such a dork. Strategic alliance this, strategic alliance that, but from the second he met the Straw Hats, he wasn’t thinking about betraying them, he was wondering how he was supposed to remain impartial with such an affable group. He thought Nico, at least, would be an ally against the general Straw Hat insanity, but she turned out to be the crew’s worst enabler rather than the mother hen he had originally pegged her for. Which begs the question, what else was he wrong about? 

Annoyed to have been so wrong, Law begins paying more attention to Nico. He notices that she doesn’t fall into the insular trap that a lot of academics do. She’s not just an expert on her one field but in fact is incredibly well read and is a wealth of knowledge on a menagerie of different topics, and each topic he learns she is well-versed in is weirder than the last. 

Why is Nico an expert on Panda Shark socialization? How did Nico come to find out that there is a mythical, lost library full of love poems on an unnamed sky island? Why does Nico have so many books on a random king from the South Blue who died eight hundred years ago? How did Nico learn that there’s an island in the West Blue where white pumpkins grow on bone trees? And why, oh why, is she versed in Germa 66 lore? Finding out the last one makes his heart drop, the realization that he would risk it all for the Straw Hat archaeologist making Law’s stomach churn. 

And how is she so calm all the time? He had pegged the academic as similar to him, but her crew’s shenanigans seem to just roll right off her. She sat in that cell with him and the others in Punk Hazard reminiscing about old times with Luffy and Smoker instead of cowering in the shadow of Vergo, and she more than held her own on Green Bit, lending herself to him as an asset time and again, always being there to lend a helping hand (or twelve) when the plan fails. 

All that is to say, Law falls first. But it’s Robin who makes the first move. 

It’s only when she sees Traffy interact with his crew that Robin sees him for who he is, and she can’t get that man out of her head- that man who isn't domineering but tries to make people follow his orders to protect them, that man who is so adored by his crew (the members of which he protects rather than uses for his own gain), that man who, despite being called Warlord, is kind of adorable. 

Robin starts teasing him a bit; she just can’t help herself. Now that her Crocodile glasses are off, she can see that he doesn’t have the sort of temper that leads him to kill people but rather the sort that just leaves him spluttering and speechless. And, well, she thinks it’s cute. She starts feeling dumb, too, for not having seen it sooner. After all, Luffy saw he was a good and trustworthy person, and that should have been enough for her, but she had been blinded. 

No longer blinded, she starts enjoying her time with Traffy, though he doesn’t notice the shift, doesn't realize she's soft on him. He thinks she’s needling him for some other reason. It never occurs to him that Nico (or anyone, for that matter) finds him cute. And he almost goes into cardiac arrest when she tells him. 

“Why are you looking at me like that?” He demands one night, fed up with that little smile that always seems to be on Nico’s face while she’s staring at him. “Nothing,” she says, swallowing her giggle, “I just think you’re cute when you’re annoyed.” And with that, she leaves him to process what she’d just said. 

Their relationship is built on info dumping. Robin can talk about her weird interests, such as the mating habits of Sea Kings and the fact that the antidote made from Conine in the bark of Kona Trees can actually be used as a poison if mixed with the correct substances. And Law can talk about his childish interests, such as various comic books and ninjas. These two geek out on a level not previously known to humankind. 

They bring each other odd tokens, typically the weirdest possible thing they could find on their respective travels. 

Law buying Robin books and leaving notes inside that get progressively more personal, Robin asking Sanji to show her how to make onigiri because it’s Law’s favorite. 

And then there’s the trauma. Both were nearby when their parents were murdered. Both were alone in the world at a very young age, Robin hunted by the World Government and Law by the Donquixote family. Both know what it’s like to be completely alone with nothing to their name but a bizarre devil fruit ability and a target on their back. Both managed to find their way in the world despite feeling for years that they never would. They didn’t save each other because they didn’t have to. They’re traumatized, but they’re not broken, and together, they can be even stronger. They saved themselves, and now that they did, they’re free to bask in each others’ presence. And that’s exactly what they do.

The death of boy wonder

This is common knowledge, but when Dick was Robin, he was referred to as the Boy Wonder. The question is—when did that title stop? Your first thought might be, “Well, after Dick, duh.” But I personally don’t think so.

See, Jason Todd was just as happy and joyful as he was traumatized. He hid many of his own cringeworthy quips up until his death. None of this “Jason was the angry Robin” bullshit—he was a ray of sunshine and pure gold. So why would Gothamites stop calling him that? The name Robin didn’t change, so why would they change his nickname or stop giving him one altogether? Especially when it fit, They wouldn’t.

So, Dick and Jason were both Boy Wonder. Naturally, you’d expect the next person to take up the mantle—Tim—to be called that too. But Tim didn’t have as much hope in his masked eyes. He didn’t have the same natural charisma or confidence. The wonder wasn’t there nearly as much as it was with the other two. Sure, he had the occasional quip, but overall, his humor was drier and more sarcastic. He was much more analytical—not that Dick and Jason weren’t, but with Tim, it was obvious.

He just wasn’t as cheery, and that’s fine. But he wasn’t Boy Wonder. His charm was too subtle. He didn’t go out of his way to be the “fun” Robin, though he could lighten the mood when needed. But the wonder just wasn’t there as much. And as time went on, as he became more serious, the nickname gradually faded out.

Boy Wonder died with Jason, in Tim’s arms. And only Robin was left.

If there's one thing you've learned about Damian, it's that he never stays silent, especially when he sees someone close to him veering off the wrong path. Whether it's for minor or insurmountable issues, he refuses to stand idly by without intervening on their behalf.

He's not someone who beats around the bush, and his frankness often (or rather, always) leaves you breathless, and you don't even know why… But it's probably because his penetrating gaze never wavers from yours.

And no matter how hard you try, you couldn't hold his gaze, so pure and burning green. Behind his carefully composed features, you could sense how he expressed his contempt with every prolonged silence. His clenched fists betrayed the tension he barely managed to contain, as if he wished to strike you so you could finally understand.

"You're being a pathetic idiot" are the first words that escape his lips, launching directly at you, and you can't help but feel as if he punched you in the stomach with every syllable dripping with disdain and disappointment, each statement striking your senses already battered by your own thoughts.

While he may be your best friend, his words didn't seek to comfort you in the slightest; his touch didn't promise the solace you were looking for. He hadn't come to heal your wounds but to tear off the poisoned bandage you thought would cover them.

Forget the notion that best friends treat each other nicely, with love and tenderness. For him, friendship wasn't a bed of roses to seek refuge from pain.

His devotion to you wasn't expressed through caresses or pretty phrases. It was his fists that would push if necessary to pull you out of the mess you were sinking into, and with a sword in hand if needed, due to your stubborn way of acting.

There was no room for subtlety when it came to saving what he considered to be his. He wouldn't even allow you to take shelter in the embrace of sorrow, to take root in the muddy ground of the very people who left you in such a state. He would uproot you, like removing a cancerous growth, even if the process was as brutal as a surgical amputation.

He would never allow you to succumb to your own pain. He only wanted to help you, even if he wasn't the right person for it.

With your face red with humiliation, you try to defend yourself, babbling excuses that sound increasingly feeble to your own ears. You wanted to articulate a defense, to provide an explanation that would appease his anger… but the truth is, you had no words. Your barely uttered excuses sound weaker and weaker to your own ears. His truths had cut you open, exposing your most intimate miseries.

You felt naked and defenseless under his presence, so overwhelming that it seemed to drain the oxygen from your lungs with every breath. The solidity of his posture, so upright and unyielding, made your fragile structure tremble. In his presence, you felt tiny and insignificant, an insect tossed about by the currents of your own misguided self-disdain. How could you stand under the crushing weight of such a presence, which paled your will with the ease of a fading light? Everything about him seemed designed to diminish and break you, leaving you on the edge of the precipice.

Who could avoid feeling this way when Damian's gaze remains unwavering, his furrowed brow indicating that he won't be deceived by your cheap justifications?

"Why can't you see that you're sinking?" he interrupts you before you can speak again, his tone already irritable, cutting through the heavy air that has accumulated in the room. "I know you're better than this."

His hand reaches out to your face, gently holding your chin to force you to lift your gaze, to face him.

"You have to stop," he insists, his voice now soft, lowering in volume, and that hurts even more than his previous harsh criticisms. "You can't go on like this."

"I'm not the one who is wrong," you deny, "I'm not…"

Damian lowered his hand, gripping your shoulder with more assurance. He's aware that he has been aggressive in the past, so now, with relaxed nerves, he tries to show you that he's not your enemy; he's your friend, doing what needs to be done.

"You are," he shakes his head in resignation, watching as you barely acknowledge his words with a devastating expression. "Hey, don't start with that."

That was the damn expression you had on your face every time you felt bad about something, guilty like a puppy hiding its tail between its legs.

"I don't hate you for that," he immediately continues, "but I can't see you doing… this. I can't let you keep lying to yourself."

You slump on the edge of the room's sofa, using it as a way to ignore the discomfort of the lesser hero's influence over you. But he doesn't stay behind for a second, sighing and sitting by your side.

You can still feel him next to you, and it suffocates you, but it's comforting at the same time. It's the knowledge that he's present, that he's not leaving you hanging.

"Do you understand me?"

You take a minute, or maybe ten, taking deep breaths and assimilating his words. Your mind is a whirlwind of conflicting emotions, doubts, and criticisms that threaten to bring on a migraine for which you won't be grateful at all.

And he remains there, squinting his green orbs, searching for any trace of understanding in you.

"I know," you whisper, with a dry throat and a hitched breath. Your heart races, trying to make its way to acceptance, but you can barely manage it.

"You know?" His smile is that of someone who has accomplished their goal, the smile of a man who has broken through the wall of your pride and now appears satisfied.

You hunch over a little more, allowing yourself to fully feel the humiliation in which your friend has exposed you. You settle in, back against the cushion, hands gripping your knees, gaze fixed on the emptiness of the well-maintained wooden floor.

The only thing Damian thinks is best to alleviate the situation is to put his arm around your shoulders. Not in a comforting gesture, but in a supportive squeeze. It's his way of showing you that you're not alone, that you notice it, that you feel it.

"We're going to fix this," his jaw tightens, and you can feel the pressure of his arm growing.

"How?" you stammer, gripping the surface of the sofa. You don't know where to go, what to think, or what to feel.

"By starting with owning up to your mistakes," his firm tone leaves no room for discussion. "And by acknowledging that you're not alone."

His eyes open slightly, never leaving your sight, fixed on every one of your movements: the twitch of your fingers, how your eyes dart from side to side to avoid it, or even how you purse your lips to hold back any impulsive words.

"I'm here," he reminds you, and his smile, now, is kind. "And I won't leave you."

You allow yourself to release a deep and shaky sigh. Your mind is a chaos of emotions seeking an escape, but he doesn't allow it with his hand lightly squeezing your shoulder, causing you to start accepting what you're hearing.

"But I'm not going to be your mother or your diaper-changing nanny," he raises an eyebrow in disdain. "You have to be the one to make the decision."

He turns you to face him directly on the sofa, his hands delicately moving on your arms, refusing to let go of you for the moment.

"Why are you so tough?" you complain, catching his attention and causing his lips to curve into a mocking smile.

"Because if I'm not, who else will be?" he responds, maintaining his layer of seriousness. "I don't think your neighbor will point out how messed up you are down to your neurons."

"Do you think I don't know that I'm damn messed up?"

"You know?" he says, barely flinching. "Then go fix it."

Your fists tighten and loosen in an endless cycle of frustration and anxiety that consumes you inch by inch.

"I can't."

"Why not?" his questioning, despite sounding like one, is not an attack but rather a push for you to examine your own fears and excuses.

"Because…" your mouth dries up, your breath halts in your throat.

"Because…?"

You get caught in an uncomfortable silence, the walls of the room feel tight, and the weight of your mistakes accumulates in your chest.

Your friend, the one who fears no truth, the one who doesn't allow life to slide by you without leaving marks, stares at you intently, still waiting for your response.

"Why can't you?" his persistence continues.

You take a moment, sighing, trying to articulate the reasons that remain silent on your lips. Your gaze drifts, searching for answers in the emptiness surrounding you.

"Because you're afraid," Damian finishes the sentence, with the certainty of someone who has already fought the monster that now torments you. "Because you believe you don't deserve to be happy without it."

Reluctantly, you nod in response to his harsh words, wishing deep down to dismiss them as incorrect despite their accuracy.

Damian knows it, and that's why his smile widens, displaying that damn smile he always wears when he's got you figured out. But it's not a cruel smile like in most of his victories; it's the smile of someone who knows you're making progress.

"I'm here for you, remember that, you hollow-headed fool. So don't you dare whine any longer about that stupidity."

That's just how he is. His tough, and sometimes even hostile, way of speaking is his peculiar way of showing you that he cares, that his honesty isn't a weapon to hurt you but a way to help you see yourself from a different perspective.

He has his own way of expressing his friendship and concern for you. It's that same affection from someone who isn't afraid to burn you with their truth if it means rescuing you from the clutches of your worst enemy: yourself.

Did you know that for that reason, and only for that reason, Damian would always be ready to pull you out of there because, in his own way, he cared about your well-being.
