feels so good being the person in charge of deciding whether our organization will use AI or not. I'm going to write an argument so strong... no we will not waste an ounce of our time and energy on what's essentially a bubble the IT industry Really wants to try forcing on people and is betting on/wanting so badly for it to take off. The real gut punch is at some point I'm going to compare it to NFTs lol

#i also know this game very well working 5 years for a corporation that was developing its own various AIs back in 2016 #i know what the back end looks like i know what the line of thinking is for people higher up the leadership chain and #i know that essentially ur algorithm is only as good as your data and you will always need more and more data if you want to be the best #and at this stage‚ there is no good effective product/service to offer. you need more people's data to improve your product #and you need other organizations/businesses to lend you their legitimacy for wider adoption.#it's how u get investor-friendly statements by saying X amount of businesses have adopted [thing] while saying #nothing of the quality of [thing]‚ and there's no guarantee that the quality would actually improve if one company came out on #top and dominated the market.. i know a scummy data collection scheme when i see one lmfao. this is the second time #Microsoft went around me/leadership to try getting one of our teams to integrate Copilot AI 😑 so now we're looking at #making official guidelines so if/when it happens again people will have to tell them no #fuck off‚ leave our staff and clients out of it‚ and stop getting their hopes up 🔫 u send in a marketing team to pitch it to non tech savvy #people and don't get too into the details on what data u need to hand over. i just cut through the bullshit and tell them to send us a full #list of all the data they're requesting access to so people on the policy side can say no absolutely not‚ just like the last time y'all #tried sneaking this fuckery into our organization (-:#there's also always the vague possibility of IT infrastructure becoming weaponized if/when the broad legal protections the #industry's always enjoyed get revoked. jail a couple high level executives and the industry will do whatever u want and we don't need #a third party deeply entrenched in our work when/if that happens.. fwiw since we have an actual team of IT people now I'm #more than happy to make some in-house solutions for whatever teams are thinking AI can solve.. it's just a headache on all fronts lol

The teaser does need to be understood, at least in part, as a marketing strategy to sell studio stakeholders and the average viewer on the incredibly bizarre plot point of Lestat becoming a rockstar. By introducing the concept prior to the third season starting filming, the idea can be somewhat normalised to a wider audience. That it is the focus of the teaser, with the second half effectively becoming a music video, is intended to demonstrate that the production team have the skills to render it on screen.

#fandom exposure and or knowledge of the even stranger developments in the book has also inured us all #that is not to say that there has been no concern about how well the team can pull it off #but that is still different from rejecting the concept wholesale or as another prestige genre show jumping the shark #none of this undermines the anxieties people have had about the the black and Asian characters being dismissed #(and I better not see anyone in the tags using this post to do so)#which are legitimate not just because of the general treatment of such characters in television #but specifically here as there has and continues to be some really shady racist stuff in the marketing of this show #another reason that this is the focus of the teaser of course is that it is quite flashy while being relatively cheap #using real members of the production team (Mark and I suspect that is actually Tami) is both a cute easter egg and also cuts costs #Lestat de Lioncourt #Interview with the Vampire #Jagged Jottings

#you think a dev would go to marketing to announce that their strategy doesn't convey the actual product?#no #perhaps if you are a senior dev or a team lead you might have a say in some things #in smaller companies sure #but in huge companies with strict development cycles no #i keep hearing that devs should be doing this or shouldn't have done that #they may have pointed out some concerns but if a higher up says no that's it #anyways creating a product involves many people and roles #./trash

How I am using Notion to organize my life!

I am a huge fan of free tools and resources, and Notion is a game-changer for being able to create detailed plans and goals that can be tracked across multiple types of devices. While I do most of my planning on my laptop, I love being able to open up my plans and change them as needed from my cellphone when I am out of the house.

Below is just a small example of what a week plan may look like for me. I try to include an opportunity every day to learn, be active, and focus on my faith. Each week I focus on a new podcast and read a new book, and I try to find new ways to apply what I've learned to my life.

I'm a huge supporter of reading. I believe that we are capable of figuring out anything on our own given enough time, but that a single book can be the difference between the solution taking a year, or an hour to find.

One thing I really love about Notion is the ability to create a very detailed reading list with books, podcasts, articles, and more. I am actively making an effort to read more books, and having one set place to keep track of my reading list is such a useful tool!

Another awesome feature of Notion is the implemented AI tool! This is a gamechanger for those who freeze up when it comes to planning, or are just now learning how to streamline their goals!

Like I mentioned at the start of this post, I am a huge fan of free resources and tools for those looking to improve their life circumstances! With that in mind, the best part about Notion is that it is free! While there is a bit of a learning curve to utilize all of the tools they offer (even I'm still figuring everything out!) it is so worth the time to try it out and explore the opportunities it opens up. This program offers so many features, these are just the ones that stood out to me on a first impression!
