(Because of you, @mer-acle 😁)
Ice cream for Mount Olympus.
Athena is a classy lady. She gets pistachio other nuts like white chocolate macadamia (Thanks @dantsem!), and olive oil because we know that's her tree. She knows how to get the perfect number of scoops to be perfectly satisfied.
Ares is a frozen yogurt immortal because he wants to go against what the others are doing. He refuses to join in. He'll try every flavor and load it with toppings, challenging Athena to see who can pile on more things until someone has a topping spill out.
Artemis wants the flavors that show her toughness. She's getting black licorice, ghost pepper, wasabi, etc. Apollo wants her to stop after the tears start, but she will power through.
Apollo is health-conscious. He's getting low-fat flavors, oatmilk or almond milk ice cream, or he's just getting Italian ice. Sorbet is also an option, but he'll argue you down about sherbet being a healthy alternative.
Hermes is ordering whatever the most uncommon flavors are. He will get garlic and Cheetos Flamin Hot (yes, these are real ice cream flavors) just to see his family cringe. He doesn't even really want them. Athena questions the logic of this.
Hephaestus likes vanilla. The others make fun of him for being boring, but he enjoys how this can be a good foundation for other desserts, sundaes, root beer floats, etc.
Dionysus is eating rum raisin, tequila, and margarita Italian ice. There was no other option. He saw booze and got heart eyes.
Aphrodite is eating chocolate and cheesecake flavors because they're rich and remind her of the richness of a passionate moment. She also likes cherry Italian ice because it makes her lips red.
Zeus is having banana cream pie, dark chocolate, and watermelon sorbet because these foods are aphrodisiacs. Even if they don't really have this effect on the brain, he's willing to try and this isn't good for anyone.
Hera eats swirls. They absolutely must be even and no other flavors can be mixed because so help her, she will see a good marriage of something even if it's only chocolate and vanilla.
Poseidon likes salted caramel. He puts extra salt on there to make him think of the ocean and adds some of those Swedish Fish on top. Zeus steals his fish most of the time.
Demeter likes black cherry, blueberry, lemon sorbet, and every other fruit flavor. She's the goddess of harvest after all. She absolutely might brag whenever she tries one that she really likes because she feels like she's a big reason for the fruits being so good.
Hades likes butter pecan and spumoni. They're relaxing but still flavorful. He can calmly enjoy a bowl of them either mixed or separate. He doesn't get involved in his brothers' ice cream battle. He just watches as Ares edges them on.
Hestia likes cake batter, birthday cake, and all the other flavors that are extremely sweet. She's the only one who can stomach things that sweet and her family thinks it's just because she's equally sweet.

long time reader, first time caller! i just read all of “adventures in polyamory” after watching approximately 3 episodes with amber in them, and it breaks my heart that you made me fall in love with her wilson-style (with reckless immediacy) while the way she’s depicted in the show is so
woman written in the 2000’s
so i’m here to shake a tin cup and ask for any amber headcanons you’d be willing to share
hello and welcome from KZ-HouseMD, the radio station for all your hatecrime-hits! ;) <3
loving Amber is so painful and so worth it; we will punch through the Noughties' misogyny together babes 🌈
headcanons and over-explanations ahoy!!
Amber's got a WASP-y background, and has spent her life both living up to and rejecting these standards. Unlike Wilson, who is delusionally attached to the idea of being Good and Normal but is unhappy living the reality, Amber recognizes that these concepts are absurd performances HOWEVER she logically recognizes that they come with benefits--and she wants those. "Love and respect" seemed impossible, because respect comes with being the best according to society's rules, and love couldn't survive that stifling environment. Now, she can hold on to the respect she craves: money enough to feel safe, wearing pearls and skirts to look proper and upper-middle-class femme, having a handsome-doctor-man-partner, an MD of her own + also still be herself, including un-ladylike cruelty, dishonesty, being part of House's chaotic evil orbit, sexual freedom, atheism, etc.
Amber has spent 110% of her life trying to get enough success to feel safe and stable and happy, so she hasn't developed interests and hobbies because who has time for that give me another coffee and another go at that medical text
Related: Amber hates everything about organized sports, but if she had the time and a friend (*cough* Thirteen) she could be one of those sapphics who gets incredibly obsessed with a women's soccer team or the WNBA
Also related: a sufficiently "productive" hobby I think she'd love is antiquing. Waking up at six AM to drive three hours and wait outside an estate sale and then barge in and make a grab for that antique bureau, fighting off old ladies and viciously snarling down the price--bloodsport for classy femmes!
Amber is a basic chocolate girlie. Caramel is a close follow-up. Vanilla is fine, and she'll pretend to like fancy amaretto or pistachio flavors etc but really she would prefer an Oreo. (Or two...) She will eat max veggies for Health tm and the spiciest food to prove she is Tough tm but really just wants a grilled cheese. A chicken nugget. A spaghetti. Food sensitivities + eating disorder, though she'll only barely cop to the latter, and will not be exploring the former thank you very much she's fine
Amber gets along well with older kids, where she can take on the role of Cool Babysitter, but I think she's secretly a little terrified of being left alone with the tiny incomprehensible, breakable ones, who don't follow the social contract yet and rely on her (!) for self preservation
Amber is naturally a night owl, but medical-land is all early bird, so she's mainly been sleep deprived for the last decade, since she refuses to have a 10 PM bedtime just because she has to get up at 5 AM to make her shift.
Amber's not that interested in fiction ("who has time for that in this reality?") but she ironically enjoys rom-coms for the absurdity, the laugh factor, and the easy comfort of a formula + unironically enjoys action movies because she likes seeing people get punched in the face repeatedly
Amber should take Taekwondo lessons so she can beat the ever-loving shit out of people for fun, and maybe she will after she realizes that the Lulu Lemons in her yoga classes are unbearable, and instead befriend some weirdos gathering at the local gym to spar (Wilson would think this is a great and very attractive idea, House would be annoyed+scared+horny because jesus now he has to wear an athletic cup full-time or she'll crush his nuts for target practice, won't she, c'mon Wilson it's not funny)
okay hitting the brakes here before this gets so long it demands a read-more! 😜 thanks for the ask <333

Chapter 5 of Constellations and Miscommunications
IT'S OUT EARLY!!!! AHHHHH! Here's the link to chapter 5 of C&M!
Oh we're so close I can taste it! I'm so excited! Chapter 6 is actually already edited... we sort of edited out of order because my reading comprehension for the rules of the fest was nil. So, I'm hoping I can actually get you guys chapter 6 by this Sunday or midweek next week for funsies!
Chapter 7... it's get a rewrite unfortunately haha. So, it may not be up next Sunday! This one was a really fun and emotional one to write just because of its focus on Draco and mental health and such. I'm really excited about it! Lil snippet:
Hermione found her seat next between Harry and Ron, while Kingsley, Wiggins, and a few other Healers from work settled around the table. Food promptly appeared on their plates—pistachio crusted rack of lamb with charred radicchio and mash.
“If this is how the Malfoys eat then I sure wish you’d invited us round when you were dating, ‘Mione,” Ron said, digging in.
Hermione frowned as Harry snorted, shaking his head as he cut into his own rack of lamb.
“Ronald,” Hermione said. She smiled despite the tasteless joke. “We never ate here. Actually, he cooked for me at my flat more often than not.”
“You think he cooked all of this?” Ron said through a mouthful of lamb, gesturing at the plates with his knife.
Hermione rolled her eyes. Of course he didn’t. But as she stared at her plate, her heart lurched, a memory washing over her.
This was the exact meal he cooked for her when she first invited him to her flat.
He had spent all day prepping it–trying to find the perfect recipe, roasting the nuts himself, hand crusting the lamb. Draco had even gone to a local Muggle market to pick out the radicchio himself.
She blinked.
It couldn’t mean anything though.
“Doubtful,” Hermione said, swiping her fork over the mash.

National Nut Day
Walnut, Hazelnut, Chestnut, Kola Nuts, Pine Nuts, Cashews, and more. There are more types of nuts in the world than most people realize, and many more of these are used for food than people suspect. Most people have a favorite kind of nut, most commonly involved in a favored kind of treat, but there are varieties and uses for nuts that are not commonly known.
Did you know that the flavor in your cola originally came from the Kola Nut? Or that Beech Nuts are commonly used as feed for animals? From ages past these high-fat, high-protein tree seeds have served as a major source of winter survival. Their natural ability to be stored and resist decay throughout the winter has made them a valuable resource for animals and humans alike.
What’s even more fascinating is that nuts have been revealed to have notable health benefits for those with a history of Coronary Heart Disease by lowering LDL cholesterol concentrations.
Learn about National Nut Day
National Nut Day has been created in order to encourage the public to consume healthier snack options. What is your go-to snack? A packet of crisps? A chocolate bar? We know that we are guilty of going for the unhealthy option more regularly than we should! So, why not use National Nut Day as the perfect opportunity to switch up your workplace snack? Some nuts, or a combination of nuts and dried fruit, is a healthy snack that will bring a lot of benefits.
The great thing about nuts is that there are so many different types and varieties to choose from. They come in many different sizes and shapes. You have everything from wrinkly walnuts to teardrop-shaped almonds, and so you are bound to find something that appeals to your taste buds.
We also love National Nut Day because nuts are not only delicious, but they are nutritious as well. Different nuts have different benefits. For example, almonds are rich in vitamin E, calcium, and protein. Another beneficial type of nuts is pistachios. They are high in fiber and they can help to reduce a rise in blood sugar after you have had a meal. Walnuts are also very popular, and they are a great source of omega-3 fatty acid. They can improve factors relating to heart health. Or, what about cashews? Cashews can improve blood pressure and they have a good nutrient profile too.
It is definitely a good idea to do a bit of research on your favorite nuts on Nuts Day too. You will be surprised by the different benefits that are associated with the variety of nuts out there. For a piece of food that is so small, it certainly packs a powerful punch when it comes to the different nutrients and benefits that it can bring.
History of National Nut Day
The Liberation Foods Company organized National Nut Day to celebrate the long and storied history of the nut, as well as to dispel some pernicious myths, such as the persistent idea that peanuts are a nut for instance. Nuts have been part of our diets for time out of mind, a trait we likely learned by following our fuzzy four footed brethren to their winter stores.
Since the inception of National Nut Day, great festivals have sprung up around the world to celebrate the versatility and great taste of the nut. There’s nothing like the rich smell of roast nuts to remind you that fall is here, and there is nothing to soothe a sweet tooth like a roast candied nut. Orange Glazed, Cinnamon, Sweet Chipotle are just a few of the common and more unusual flavors available in the world of the nut.
How to celebrate National Nut Day
The best way to celebrate National Nut Day is by treating yourself to your favorite nut related treat. Whether that’s a nut rich doughnut or a bag of your favorite roasted nuts, National Nut Day is an opportunity to indulge in the rich, nutty taste of.. well.. nuts!
There are often events held by vendors of nuts and their enthusiasts, where they share activities, introduce new types of nuts, and even share the best nut recipes. So get out there and improve your health and your winter with these shell-covered treasures.
There are plenty of other activities that you can do on National Nut Day. This includes making your favorite nut butter. A lot of people love nut butter, but why go to the store and purchase the premade version when you can probably make a much nicer version yourself? All you need to do is grab your favorite nut and throw them into a food processor. Most people will add some sweetener, and then all you need to do is blitz the combination. It really is as easy as that. Some people love their creation so much that they simply eat it out of the food processor. We won’t tell if you don’t!
Another way to celebrate National Nut Day is by adding them to your meal. Nuts are incredibly versatile, meaning they can be added to everything from breakfast to dinner. They go just as good in oatmeal as they do a stir-fry or salad. You can also brighten up someone else’s day on National Nut Day by bringing them a nut-based treat. A snack-sized packet of nut goodies is bound to put a smile on anyone’s face. It’s always nice when someone thinks about you, right?

when you get this, please respond with five things that make you happy! then, send to your last ten people in your notifs (anonymously). you never know who might benefit from spreading positivity.
OOOOOOHHH I’m getting asks i feel special!!!
So five things that make me happy let’s go!
1.shopping !!! I’m one of those people that finds comfort in retail therapy and focusing on pretty things to buy! I especially love shopping for clothes, bags, shoes, make up and skincare. I if I see a Sephora down the street, drag me away, if I go in I’m never getting out. I also loooove designer clothes shopping! My faves right now are Hermes, miumiu and Dior. I always have various emotional attachments to some items, right now they are my Marc jacobs tote bag, my Hermes ouran slippers and my Gucci mini skirt! My babies will always be there to comfort me

2.studying! I’ve always been an academic weapon since elementary school, and I’ve always enjoyed performing in academia. In the last few years I had to put that aside and freeze my studies due to serious health conditions, but I’m starting uni in a few days and I’m so excited! I can’t wait to start studying again, learning, reading, get passionate about subjects etc.
3.traveling! My parents always taught me the importance of traveling since I was born and I’m so grateful they’ve given me the opportunity to do so <3 in the past years I’ve been always going somewhere new, but my constant is always london! If i plan a trip somewhere, I always have to book another one just for london. It’s my absolute happy place in the world and my dream is to move there. A famous Italian saying is “you see Naples and then you die” and i changed it to “you see london and then you die”. There is nothing like a walk through mayfair/Knightsbridge and a lil shopping in soho. Anyway my favorite trips by far (aside from the uk) have been Oman, copenhagen, and the us.
3.making men suffer ice cream! Ice cream is my mostestestestest favorite food in the world and I’m the biggest ice cream connoisseur, nobody tops me. I eat it almost everyday and for me any occasion is good to sneak in some. Don’t want to cook dinner? Thank god I have ice cream. I’m sick? Some cold, refreshing ice cream will cure me. I’m happy? Yay! Let’s have some ice cream. I’m sad? Some ice cream will make me feel better. We’re watching a movie? No popcorn, ice cream instead. I have to celebrate? No better way than having some creamy deliciousness. It’s my birthday? Ice cream cake of course. My fav flavors are cremino and pistachio cremino!
5.my daughter whom i gave birth to!!!!!! It would be a lie to say that my life doesn’t not revolve entirely around her. She’s the reason I’m alive. The reason i keep going. She’s my smile, my happy tears, my pride and joy. When i wake up she’s the first person i greet and when I go to bed the last person i say goodnight to. She’s constantly in my thoughts and when i haven’t seen her in five minutes i have to go look for her and cuddle for at least one hour. I love her so much it hurts, she’s the love of my life that saved me from the darkest period of my life <3
Tumblr media
Honorable mentions: women, breaking hearts, girlbossing, daydreaming, the animal farm by Orwell, being the meanest scandalous girl with my best friend, nicotine.
Thank you so much for asking i had so much fun!!!!

#did you know that according to scientific studies, consuming 30 g of pistachios daily (about 45 pistachios) brings various health benefits?
🌿Pistachios are rich in nutrients and
among other things, like all dried fruit they contain high levels of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated essential fatty acids omega 3 and omega 6, essential for the proper functioning of the cardiocirculatory system.
These molecules contribute to lowering the level of bad cholesterol in the blood (LDL) while raising the good cholesterol (HDL), helping to keep the arterial system healthy.
Consequently, pistachios are effective in preventing and reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases (strokes, heart attacks) and neurodegenerative diseases (Alzheimer's).
In fact, they contribute to improving cognitive functions, memory and concentration, often linked to depression and cognitive decline.
📚The treasure chest of nature
#sapeviche secondo studi scientifici, consumare quotidianamente 30 g di pistacchi (circa 45 pistacchi) porta vari benefici alla salute?

♡aamrosh♡
hey!
I'm back for my next post: aamrosh! If you thought the process of making roshogolla was easy, just wait until you see this one. I have simplified the recipe so you can make it in less than 5 minutes.
Aamrosh is a simple Bengali dessert that is made up of a sweet mango puree with spices and toppings. This is usually eaten with luchi, which is a fried flatbread made up of maida (flour). The hot and crispy luchi goes perfectly with the sweet aamrosh and the contrast of textures becomes a delightful treat you can make with no cooking experience.
Tumblr media
If you read my last post, you would know that rosh means syrup. In Bengali, aam means mango, which is the national fruit of India (also my favorite fruit :). Mangoes are used in almost every Bengali dessert, so we'll start off with a simple and easy recipe.
Aamrosh is traditionally made with fresh mangoes which are blended into a puree. However, most of the time, it can be difficult to find mangoes as they are only in season during the hot summer months. I used 1/2 of a can of mango pulp (15 oz) to substitute the mangoes as I was unable to find any, but use fresh mango puree if possible (~1-2 mangoes + water).
Ingredients:
15 oz mango pulp/puree
1 tsp white granulated sugar (adjust to your taste)
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
saffron (safflower - substitute)
crushed pistachios
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For a more in-depth explanation of saffron/safflower, check my post on roshogolla.
I added the mango pulp, sugar, and cardamom powder, and mixed the aamrosh until it was fully dissolved. Pistachios are a heart-healthy and delicious nut (my favorite again!) used in many Bengali desserts. You can also omit the sugar since mangoes are naturally sweet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The consistency should be thin and smoothly drip off the spoon. Sprinkle some saffron and crushed pistachios and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes. Or, if you're impatient, you can skip the chilling :)
Tumblr media
Serve with hot luchi or just eat it with a spoon. This dessert is one the easiest sweets to make out of all of the Bengali desserts, so you don't have to worry about making any mistakes. Although they contain a high amount of natural sugar, mangoes help improve gut health and control blood pressure.
Fun fact: If you have leftover aamrosh, you can freeze it in a freezer-safe container and turn it into homemade sorbet! It tastes like the Talenti mango sorbet, but even better.
If you're ever craving some sweet juicy mangoes on a hot afternoon but have no energy to follow a difficult recipe, try making aamrosh!
posting soon...
