This privately owned aviation hangar in Midland, Texas was a design-build collaboration between Parkhill and Teinert Construction.
Exterior materials such as limestone, black metal panels, and horizontal glazed clay units were selected to create a textural experience that provides a background for the native, drought tolerant landscape.
Inside, it features a warm and inviting lounge, an extension of the family’s private residence, while extending a corporate executive aesthetic. The natural walnut, leather and velvet contrast the utilitarian hangar volume. The stark wall finishes showcase commissioned art selected by the family to convey the enjoyment of travel and wonder.

"Asks Court Protection," Border Cities Star. August 3, 1933. Page 10. ---- Evangelist Fields in Fear Of Parkhill Mob Violence ---- Writes Magistrate ---- Former School Janitor In London Attains Notoriety ---- By Staff Reporter LONDON, Ont., August 3. - Protection for Evangelist Albert Fields and his two children from what he alleges to be mob violence in the peaceful little North Middlesex town of Parkhill was requested by the "janitor evangelist" in a letter to County Magistrate C. W. Hawkshaw here yesterday. FORMERLY OF LONDON FIELDS is the former janitor of Talbot street school, London, who has gained nearly as much notoriety for himself in the past few weeks in the northern section of Middlesex as Oxford County's Aimee Semple McPherson Hutton has during the past few years in the international scene. Among other incidents in his career was the theft of his church recently. One night the tent in which he conducted services at Parkhill was spirited away and has not yet been recovered although police have followed numerous clues.
Still more recently - in fact only Tuesday of this week - a charge of disturbing the peace which one of his youthful feminine converts, Miss Rosie Barnes, of Parkhill, had laid against her father, George Barnes, was withdrawn in county police court.
Mr. Fields was to have been a witness in the case on behalf of Miss Barnes. ZEALOUS WORKER Imbued with zeal to work a transformation in conditions in Parkhill, Mr. Fields has on numerous occasions declared that he is going to clean it up. A majority of Parkhill citizens are inclined to disagree with him that conditions in their community are so very terrible. He stated that, to say the least, the members and adherents of the regularly established churches there have not received his mission with any great evidences or cordiality.
As for other, less responsible elements in the town, he is afraid they are attempting to run him out and he has repeatedly announced that he is not going to be run out.
Alleging that mobs of boys have tried to get his son to fight, the evangelist wrote to the magistrate as follows: "I am taking the liberty of dropping these few lines to ask for the protection of the court for my two little children and myself against mob violence." POLICE INFORMED Magistrate Hawkshaw has brought the matter to the attention of the police.
In a statement to The Border Cities Star Mr. Fields declared that since his troubles in Parkhill have become known tempting offers have been received to carry on evangelistic work elsewhere. But he is going to stand by the 40 converts he has made in Parkhill.
"I am going to stay and fight it out." he said emphatically.
Regarding the "mobs" which he alleged are intimidating his children and taunting himself, he said that on one occasion some time ago his 13-year-old son had been chased away from school by the other school children. When he himself went to the school to see about it the children had chanted at him: "Praise God Fields."
He declared that he was proud of the title of "Janitor Evangelist" but the other nickname, "Praise God Fields," he admitted, has become rather irksome because it has been hurled at him as a taunt so many times.
"Every minister has a phrase which he uses frequently," he said in explanation of the origin of the name. "During my services I am in the habit of saying, 'Praise God. The school children took it up and shout it at me."

Dot the I
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm making time to watch movies and TV shows I've been meaning to watch but hadn't gotten around to. "Dot the I" (2003) is one of them.
Don't read the "Storyline" section on the movie's IMDB page, and don't look through the photos in the IMDB photo gallery. Everything is spoiled.
Anyhoo, this is an enjoyable if far-fetched movie that's a little rough around the edges. It's writer Matthew Parkhill's directorial debut, and a solid one. Parkhill was very, very lucky to nab Gael and not-yet-famous James D'Arcy, Natalia Verbeke, Charlie Cox, and Tom Hardy. They're fantastic.
Reasons to watch this movie:
It has the most plot twists of any movie I've seen, and they work.
Gael (I put him second to be slightly less of a gibbering fangirl. Did it work? 😂 )
You'll spend much of the movie wondering wtaf is really happening, like many of the characters.
Flamenco dancing! (I think that's what Verbeke is doing. Whatever it is, it's cool.)
Cox and Hardy being hilarious

I watched this for free on Amazon Prime. Apparently it will only be available in the U.S. for another week or so, so USAmericans have a limited window.

Wayzata City Council. Courtesy City of Wayzata. In a pivotal decision, the Wayzata City Council has voted down a proposed moratorium on redevelopment in the R-3A zoning district, a measure intended to give city officials time to evaluate the district’s redevelopment guidelines. The moratorium, outlined in Ordinance 842A, would have temporarily halted projects in the district, but the second…

A few photos from today with my grandma. I totally missed getting photo of us at lunch. It was yummy and ended up being my dinner too, because there was so much food. I definitely need to throw down an OMG! This scone with the heart was amazing. We stopped by #9CoffeeCo for breakfast 🫶🏻. I’m so glad we did. It was so, so good and kept me going through till lunch time. Grandma really enjoyed her cinnamon twist too! #Coffee #Yummy #Breakfast #ParkHills #ADayWithGrandma #RainyDay #DoctorsAppointments (at No. 9 Coffee Co.) https://www.instagram.com/p/CnlgOUsuSXgHpTPZ4ByGf4ZbRNieMkrD6v0Wrs0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Kiltro - All The Time In The World 2023
Chilean-American singer-songwriter Chris Bowers Castillo moved to the port city of Valparaíso and became a walking tour guide. Back in Denver, Chris had looked for a moniker that reflected the evocative and subtly rebellious musical concepts percolating in his head, and settled on kiltro - a word used in Chile for stray dogs or mutts. He then teamed up with bassist Will Parkhill and drummer Michael Devincenzi, later inviting Fez García to join the band as an additional percussionist on Kiltro’s live gigs.
Titled Underbelly, Kiltro’s sophomore album crystallizes those dreams and experiences into a post-rock manifesto of dazzling beauty. Its songs combine touches of shoegaze, ambient and neo-psychedelia with the soulful transcendence of South American folk – the purity of stringed instruments, supple syncopated percussion and elusive melodies that define the works of Latin American legends such as Violeta Parra, Víctor Jara and Atahualpa Yupanqui. From the propulsive, chant-like groove of “Guanaco” to the art-pop panache of “All the Time in the World,” Underbelly is the kind of record that invites you to quiet down and listen, savoring every single detail.
"All The Time In The World" received a total of 65,2% yes votes!
