Kabul Dreams - Sadae Man 2010
Kabul Dreams is a rockband from Afghanistan, established in 2008 in Kabul. The band has paved the way for a modest but growing rock scene in Afghanistan, rebuilding itself after decades of war. The band's motivation to perform came from their own love for music, but also from a public hunger for a new life after war – a life that included new music and art. Kabul Dreams plays music in both English and Dari; one of Afghanistan's native languages. The song "Sadae Man" ("My Voice") is about the importance of Afghanistan's youth having a collective voice.
All of the band members were born in Afghanistan, but they were displaced to neighboring countries as refugees during the Taliban reign. After the fall of the Taliban regime, the band members returned to Afghanistan and met each other in Kabul. Their musical influences include Sex Pistols, Metallica, Nirvana and Oasis. In 2014, the band relocated to Oakland, California to grow their presence in the American music scene.

Tarkan - Şımarık 1997
"Şımarık" is a song by Turkish singer Tarkan. It was written by Sezen Aksu, with music credited as composed by Tarkan. It formed part of Tarkan's third album, Ölürüm Sana (1997). "Şımarık" was released in France in 1998 and across the rest of the world in 1999 from the compilation album Tarkan, which was released in Europe.
Many versions of the song were recorded in several different languages, most notably the English-language cover, titled "Kiss Kiss", by Greek-American singer Stella Soleil in 2001, which was itself covered by Australian actress Holly Valance in 2002.
As Tarkan's first major single, the song is generally considered his debut single. He had released albums before this, but never released a song in single format due to the album-orientated nature of the Turkish music industry. The song has also appeared in soundtracks of various movies, and is generally considered Tarkan's signature song in Europe.
"Şımarık" reached #1 in Belgium, #2 in Norway, and #3 in Switzerland, France, Sweden, Germany and the Netherlands.

Shakira - Ojos Así 1999
"Ojos Así" is a song by Colombian singer Shakira and was released as the fifth single from her fourth studio album, Dónde Están los Ladrones? (1998). Infused with nuances of Arabic pop, the lyrics tell of the singer travelling the world but not having seen eyes like her lover's. It was written by Shakira, composed and produced by her, Pablo Flores, and Javier Garza. It is sung mostly in Spanish, with a few verses and backing chorus in Arabic. It was later adapted into English by Gloria Estefan as "Eyes Like Yours" and included on Shakira's first English studio album Laundry Service (2001). Music critics praised "Ojos Así" as one of the album's best tracks. "Eyes Like Yours", however, was met with a less favourable reception, with reviewers commenting that it paled compared to the original. At the inaugural Latin Grammy Awards in 2000, "Ojos Así" won Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and received a Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) Latin Award in 2002. The music video won the International Viewer's Choice Award (North) at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. "Ojos Así" ranked on several charts in Europe and was a top-ten hit on the Billboard Latin Pop Airplay chart in USA. It received a total of 78,8% yes votes!

Udit Narayan - Bholi Si Surat 1997
Dil To Pagal Hai (The Heart Is Crazy) is a 1997 Indian Hindi-language musical romance film directed by Yash Chopra. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Karisma Kapoor and Akshay Kumar. It was the third film to feature Shah Rukh Khan opposite Madhuri Dixit, with two more to follow after, including the international hit Devdas (2002).
Made on a budget of ₹90 million (US$2.48 million), which includes print and advertising costs, Dil To Pagal Hai grossed over ₹710 million (US$19.55 million) worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing film of the year. (But tbh, personally I think it's only watchable because of its soundtrack.)
The soundtrack of Dil To Pagal Hai includes 10 songs. The songs for the film were composed by Uttam Singh, while the lyrics were written by Anand Bakshi. Most of the songs were sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Udit Narayan. The music was a major hit among the audience, with the album becoming the best-selling Bollywood soundtrack of the year and second-most of the 1990s decade, with 12.5 million soundtrack album sales. In 2008, Chopra launched an unreleased song from the soundtrack, titled "Chanda Ki Chandni (Kitni Hai Bekarar Yeh)" sung by Lata Mangeshkar & Kumar Sanu.

When it was released on 28 August 2000, it immediately became a hit in the UK, debuting at number one and being certified 2× Platinum in the first week of release. It also topped the charts in New Zealand, Ireland and Germany, and secured top ten placings in Argentina, Austria, Australia, Finland, Mexico, Sweden, Switzerland. The album spent 91 weeks on the UK chart, going on to sell 2.4 million copies in the UK alone, being certified 8× Platinum by the BPI. It became the best-selling album of 2000 in the UK, and the 51st-best-selling album in UK music history. It found little success in the US, however, peaking at 110 in the Billboard 200.

MUCC - Ryuusei 2006
First off, on a personal note: This poll makes me so proud. MUCC was one of my favourite bands and seeing so many new listeners enjoy one of my favourite songs makes me so happy I could cry. :') This is exactly what the "yes, heard before"/"yes, first time" options are for, for me. 💖
MUCC is a Japanese visual kei rock band, formed in Ibaraki Prefecture in 1997. "Ryuusei" is also featured on the album Best of Mucc, a compilation album released in 2007 which contains 16 tracks compiling the "best" songs of the band, and was released simultaneously with the Worst of Mucc compilation album. "Ryuusei" has not been used in anime as most of the rebloggers have been talking about, however MUCC have let other songs be used for that.
"Ryuusei" recieved a total of 69,9% yes votes which is quite funny considering the band is also known as 69 due to the Japanese words for 6 and 9 matching the pronunciation of their name. 😂😂😂

Urban Symphony - Rändajad 2009
Urban Symphony is an Estonian music group that represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 with the song "Rändajad", finishing in 6th place with 129 points.
In autumn 2007, Sandra Nurmsalu took part in the singing talent show called 2 takti ette, biennially held by the Eesti Televisioon and broadcast nationwide. In a week of the contest, the contestants were tasked to form bands each on their own and each to produce a performance with it. Nurmsalu had studied the violin for two years in the Georg Ots Music School, therefore she decided to use one again. Nurmsalu turned to her former school, where she was introduced to Mann Helstein playing the viola, Johanna Mängel playing the cello, a female contrabass player and a male keyboardist. At the end of the series, Nurmsalu, Helstein and Mängel agreed to continue their collaboration. Mängel brought the new cello player Mari Möldre to the band. In the same while, music producer Sven Lõhmus invited the group to work with him. The first track the team completed was "Rändajad" for the contest of Eesti Laul, the Estonian selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2009. It was selected as the winner entirely by a public televote in the finale, and ended in 6th place in the Contest.
In 2010, Urban Symphony announced that they would be disbanding. The announcement was due to Nurmsalu wishing to prioritise motherhood, while the group's other members wished to continue their studies and pursue other interests.
