"Asks Court Protection," Border Cities Star. August 3, 1933. Page 10. ---- Evangelist Fields in Fear Of Parkhill Mob Violence ---- Writes Magistrate ---- Former School Janitor In London Attains Notoriety ---- By Staff Reporter LONDON, Ont., August 3. - Protection for Evangelist Albert Fields and his two children from what he alleges to be mob violence in the peaceful little North Middlesex town of Parkhill was requested by the "janitor evangelist" in a letter to County Magistrate C. W. Hawkshaw here yesterday. FORMERLY OF LONDON FIELDS is the former janitor of Talbot street school, London, who has gained nearly as much notoriety for himself in the past few weeks in the northern section of Middlesex as Oxford County's Aimee Semple McPherson Hutton has during the past few years in the international scene. Among other incidents in his career was the theft of his church recently. One night the tent in which he conducted services at Parkhill was spirited away and has not yet been recovered although police have followed numerous clues.
Still more recently - in fact only Tuesday of this week - a charge of disturbing the peace which one of his youthful feminine converts, Miss Rosie Barnes, of Parkhill, had laid against her father, George Barnes, was withdrawn in county police court.
Mr. Fields was to have been a witness in the case on behalf of Miss Barnes. ZEALOUS WORKER Imbued with zeal to work a transformation in conditions in Parkhill, Mr. Fields has on numerous occasions declared that he is going to clean it up. A majority of Parkhill citizens are inclined to disagree with him that conditions in their community are so very terrible. He stated that, to say the least, the members and adherents of the regularly established churches there have not received his mission with any great evidences or cordiality.
As for other, less responsible elements in the town, he is afraid they are attempting to run him out and he has repeatedly announced that he is not going to be run out.
Alleging that mobs of boys have tried to get his son to fight, the evangelist wrote to the magistrate as follows: "I am taking the liberty of dropping these few lines to ask for the protection of the court for my two little children and myself against mob violence." POLICE INFORMED Magistrate Hawkshaw has brought the matter to the attention of the police.
In a statement to The Border Cities Star Mr. Fields declared that since his troubles in Parkhill have become known tempting offers have been received to carry on evangelistic work elsewhere. But he is going to stand by the 40 converts he has made in Parkhill.
"I am going to stay and fight it out." he said emphatically.
Regarding the "mobs" which he alleged are intimidating his children and taunting himself, he said that on one occasion some time ago his 13-year-old son had been chased away from school by the other school children. When he himself went to the school to see about it the children had chanted at him: "Praise God Fields."
He declared that he was proud of the title of "Janitor Evangelist" but the other nickname, "Praise God Fields," he admitted, has become rather irksome because it has been hurled at him as a taunt so many times.
"Every minister has a phrase which he uses frequently," he said in explanation of the origin of the name. "During my services I am in the habit of saying, 'Praise God. The school children took it up and shout it at me."

♡The Turmoil of the Beehive♡
◌⑅⃝●♡⋆♡♡⋆♡●⑅⃝◌◌⑅⃝●♡⋆
The floor collasped as my bed fell through. I rubbed my eyes as my pj's continued to slip off of me. "This is who I'm waking up too? Asshole!""I not gonna stop what I was doing so you only have yourself to blame for what you're about to smell, preacher douchebag". The other two girls complained. "Uhm, I was still sleeping dickhead" I deadpanned. "I'm gonna ignore that and keep talking". We sat kn the couch as garter went on with explaining a new mission or something.
Stocking licking her ice cream so fast, some of it got in my braid and on my skin. Chuck then pulled out a little old man and got to talking about missing students and shit. "Alright you hookers! Go wash your asses in the sink and get to high school before that ghost swindles anymore students!" He screeched.

See through crashed through the wall and a red carpet rolled out in front of us. "Are those celebrities?". Questions made its way through the crowd. "We're angels, dick" Panty said sliding on her glasses. "Uh, you do know what incognito means right? It's the opposite of that". We pranced through the halls as the cameras flashed. I pulled out a honey bun and began to eat. "Alright lets get this over with, where should we go first" I said opening the map of the school. Panty looked ahead and I followed seeing a ginge haired boy run down the hall with a beehive on his head. "What in the fuck? That's not suspicious or anything".
Panty summoned her gun and shot at the dude, making the bees drop away. He slid across the floor and we looked down in digust. "Was that necessary?" Stocking asked. He looked up at us "Holy Mary Mother". "That all you got" Panty said kicking the beehive back onto his head. We laughed as he tan around in despair. "Oh briefer's darling" someone called out from the top of a huge cheerleader stack. "You're not really running around so carelessly with my precious beehive on your head now are you?" She said with a whole lot of venom in the last few words. "If looks could kill" I said throwing my wrapper. He started whimpering and apologizing to her. "So hey, what the fuck is that?" Panty looked up. "Ew, gross. Is that barbie wanna be I smell" The girl said re crossing her legs. She went on and on about her "I own the school" speech.
"You the janitor?" "Yeah, cause we meant the principal and he's hotter" Panty and Stocking threw to her face.
"Well damn, she's actually kinda pretty" I said looking at her for a little. Panty and Stocking glared at me."My name's Barbie, you may also refer to me as;Queen Barbie, Her majesty, or Goddess. Allow them to demonstrate". The whole school went wild. Panty yawned"Your working way too"hard here. Did she seriously refer to herself as barbie, like the outdated fetish doll, with like a bazillion occupations""She did, and im allergic to plastic. Lets get out of here before we catch slut face" Panty and Stocking dragged her." Call me" I said throwing her my number as I got dragged away. As we exited Panty stepped on her beehive. All I heard was her ramblings and "The braided one is the most tolerable".
◌⑅⃝●♡⋆♡♡⋆♡●⑅⃝◌◌⑅⃝●♡⋆♡♡⋆◌⑅⃝●♡⋆♡♡⋆♡
"Check this shit out guys, couldn't you just die? It even moves when you stick a finger up her""Third base panty, collect all four. Your just in this for the uniform" Stocking said not looking up from her sweets magazine."And your point?" Panty said wobbling around her figurine. The teacher then started passing out condoms for some strange reason." Don't put that in your mouth!" I warned Panty as she started eating the condom like it was gum. "Hey what are you girls doing?". Geek boy then whined to us about his 'friends' going missing.
◌⑅⃝●♡⋆♡♡⋆♡●⑅⃝◌◌⑅⃝●♡⋆♡♡⋆◌⑅⃝●♡⋆♡♡⋆
He took us outside and decided to show us how is 'backpack' thing worked. "So what exactly were we taking when we decided to follow the ginger freak fro show" Stocking stated. "Good point" I said sipping on a slushie. "Sorry it usually works" Panty then suddenly kicked the 'proton pack'. "Proton pack of shit" she screamed. After she kicked it, it started vibrating and then blowed up. "Well isn't this a delight,
I was afraid I would never see my favorite slut cankles ever again" a voice said from behind.
Out popped barbie on top of a bunch of robots. "Ugh, aren't you supposed to be in the trash?""Ten inches is way to big for you""You never called me, kinda glad. I see my mistake". We all started a huge argument, in the middle of that empty field. She jumped off her pedestal and turned into a demon"Could this have been any more fucking predictable""Nope she's a queen, she's a bee, she's a queen bee, we fucking get it" Panty and Stocking whispered. We took out our weapons and the fight began. (Im not writing all of that srry).
◌⑅⃝●♡⋆♡♡⋆♡●⑅⃝◌◌⑅⃝●♡⋆♡♡⋆◌⑅⃝●♡⋆♡♡⋆♡
As the gong sounded we knew she was defeated. A few coins fell from the sky and I got them. "Uh thats it cheap bastard's"
Panty complained. "Here come the geeks" Stocking sang as they fell from the sky in cocoons.
The ginger then went on to praise us about being ghost hunters. I snuck behind him and started to untie the geeks from their cocoons. "Hello smoregasm board! Who's fish should I play rocking chair with first""Oh I guess you've earned it""Line up, boys" Panty said sneaking away to the football players. "Hoe." I said kicking a nerd that tried to look up my skirt. "I need some sugar" Stocking said looking up to the sky.

I wanna start writing more in the Ghost fandom so I’m leaving what I do first up to a poll since I currently have equal interest in all options.
Extended summaries:
Resurrected Au: I’ve already posted the introduction of this one actually, you can read it here. Terzo wakes up in a glass case without any of his memories and spends the next 3-4 years drifting from place to place with nothing but the occasional voice in his head to guide him before shit hits the fan and what do you mean I have to save the world from Eldritch Gods? I didn’t sign up for this! Cue a crazy road-trip to figure out who he was and how he’s supposed to stop the world from ending before the Lord Below can end it himself. This one will be the longest fic of the three proposed and will have the heaviest emphasis on Terzo/Alpha/Omega (although all of them will include the polyghouls + papa dynamic to some degree lol.)
Catholic Au: My latest creation. I have a specific headcanon that Terzo was introduced to the clergy when he was 7, right right before his mother’s illness gets worse and she becomes unable to take care of him herself. This Au follows what would have happened if she never brought him to the ministry and he was instead raised in a Catholic orphanage. Years later, right before his ordainment as a priest, he sees this Satanic metal band at a bar and meets their mysterious lead singer, Primo. What a weird name that is. What’s his deal? And why does the word “Emeritus” sound so familiar?
Canon x OC Au: pure self indulgence, starts bit before Terzo takes over from Secondo. Father James Wickham is the right hand man of famed pastor and media personality Jim DeFroque. While he’d insist that he’s content with his job as a preacher, he has… mixed feeling about what his colleague gets up to and his hand in enabling it. One day, Jim’s circle of religious leaders find out about Ghost’s very real ties with The Clergy and send James out to take them down from the inside. James is having a little trouble with that, though, because these folks aren’t really hurting anybody and, damn him, that younger Emeritus fellow and his demon friends have been more genuine and kind to him than Jim ever was.
I plan (or at least would like) to write all of these eventually but they’re currently all taking up the same amount of space in my brain sooo y’all get to choose which I tackle first!

Ellerbe School
"Location, location, location," Realtors are so fond of saying, but it's precisely the location of a 1950s school southeast of Shreveport that has captured the imagination of explorers of the weird. Leaving the city behind, Ellerbe Road (Highway 523) continues seemingly interminably. Just before its junction with Highway 1 in Caspiana, there sits a former school that has unsettled many.
Some claim the old Ellerbe School had been a Baptist seminary whose preacher-professor performed sadistic biblical punishments on their pupils to teach them firsthand how Jesus suffered at the hands of the Romans. Other insist it was a black elementary school that sheet-wearing bigots made sure would never be integrated. Still others maintain that its students were hobbling paraplegics struck by a terrible polio epidemic. But some blame its emptiness on something else entirely: a homicidal maniac.
The school closed, many say, after the last principal was exposed as a child molester, a pedophile who silenced hist victims forever to prevent parents from learning the vile truth. According to this old rumor, the screams of his young prey are still heard echoing down the long corridors.
Another version claims that the school janitor was the child killer, not the principal. He stared at the kids with snakelike eyes, they say, and swallowed his chewing tobacco juice instead of spitting it out. High on concentrated nicotine, he'd lure children into his broom closet and snuff out their young lives. Found out, the janitor chained the doors closed, set fire to the building during a PTA meeting, then hanged himself from the school's water tower as the fire consumed them all. After that, the few families remaining in the community fled. The school never reopened.
For visitors to the old Ellerbe Schoo, it is they who inevitably end up feeling like ghosts, wandering invisibly through corridors, reviewing scenes of their own dimly remembered pasts.
Ellerbe's Vanishing Janitor
The oldest stories told about the Old Ellerbe Road School have to do with why it was abandoned in the first place.
Apparently one day a janitor in the school vanished into thin air. There was no trace of him at all. His car was still in the parking lot but he was nowhere to be found. Rumors started swirling and the schoolkids started getting really worked up about it. One night a few of them decided they would find the janitor and rescue him. They had a sleepover, snuck out, and went to the school. They were never seen again. Hysteria overtook the town and the school closed, never to reopen.
Nowadays if you go to the school at night you can hear the sounds of children playing in the distance. No matter where you go, it sounds far away. If you run to the sound, it seems to move to a different spot. There's also the sound of a school bell. People have also told me they've seen strange lights coming from the school's windows at night.
Be careful if you decide to visit the Old Ellerbe Road School. Not only is it frightening, it is truly dangerous. -Tex LaRome

Had the privilege of meeting Jeremiah Johnson and his wife tonight. Holy spirit was all over them. They live in another state and I received a similar prophecy that another prophet told me awhile back. Maybe a year or two ago. Was extremely powerful and an answered prayer for me personally that I pray for. Basically identical to back then and the same friend who stood right by my side back then when I received it also stood by my side for it today too. This preacher went from being a janitor to preaching globally. Next year he will be preaching with some of the best preachers in the world. Gods crazy man.

Arvin was a smart boy. He had been told that countless times by his mother before the godforsaken disease took her away, and his daddy too, before he started beating the shit out of him.
He didn’t doubt that a minute in his life, but then he grew up, wondering what went wrong. He was not the same doe eyed boy anymore. He liked to think that he was strong, not like his daddy used to tell him before a good spanking. And he definitely wasn’t a sinner, no, he was just a victim of God’s wrath. It wasn’t his fault that the boys made fun of his sister, they all deserve the beating they got.
Breathing in the cigarette, he blew out the smoke before it could burn his lungs, or kill him from the same disease that killed his ma. He was sitting on the front porch of his school, watching as people went by. The jocks wandering around the field, some of the artistic ones sketching while eating their lunches, and then there was the cheerleading squad.
He watched. It’s what he did a lot. He watched as cancer took his mother, he watched the way the fake Preacher looked at Lenora.
“You know, one of those sticks take six minutes of your life.” A voice spoke behind him. You sat besides him, your cheerleader costume showing your smooth legs and your pretty smile, hair done in an updo.
“And how would you know that?” He smirked, looking you up as you blush. God you looked so pretty, blushing like that. He watched you too. How you would roam the halls with your pom poms and those pompous sons of bitches that teased his sister. But it was never You. You were a sweet little girl, always got As in all your tests and all.
“I always tell that to my daddy to get him to quit. Tell him that it’s six minutes less he gets to spend with me.” You said, taking the stick from his hand and smashing the butt on the ground. You fiddled with your skirt, accidentally hiking it up your thigh.
“Did he listen?” He asked, looking at You as You smiled.
“No.”
He looked at you again. You were looking at him with your shiny eyes, all innocent and bright. He wondered what you would say when he fucked you hard against his old car, scoring through the woods and scream his name until you were sore. Shaking himself from his head, he saw you biting your lips. He wasn’t even sure You liked him like that.
Craving for another smoke, he fiddled with his hands, taking your hands instead, looking for a reaction. You didn’t snatch it back, but instead, straddled his lap to pull him into a heated kiss. Your nails scraped at his hair, the smooth strands getting ruffled up as you push your lips on his, uncaring of the others around them.
You moaned against his mouth, the sound going straight South. Taking your waist, he squeezed them lightly, crazy happy that he was making out with You, Y/N L/N, under the bleachers like some cheesy films like those in the Carnivals.
“You wanna ditch class?” He asked after sometime, heaving for a breath as you licked your swollen lips. Your makeup was a little smeared, but You still looked beautiful. His heart sped up, uncharacteristically, a strange rush of excitement flooding his veins.
“Yeah. How bout the woods?” You said, getting off from his lap. He was glad the ground was almost empty, wouldn’t want to get caught by some old janitor or a nosy freshman.
“Sounds good to me.” He said and crashed his lips into hers to steal another kiss.
                                      _______________________
“Oh! this is good” You whimpered as he slammed your back to the hood of his car, gripping you in his strong hold as the cicadas and crickets chirped, the bright sun hitting your naked chest through the windows, making it slick with sweat. You were in a forest, and were sure that no one would come now, and with the noises you were making? No one would dare come near the shaking car.
Kissing him with your swollen lips, you gripped his muscular back as he nipped you, eliciting another moan from you. He grabbed your legs, hiking up the skirt that you were still wearing. God the damned skirt, you wanted it out of your way. Slipping your hands to unlatch it, you were stopped by his hands as he slid his own on your clothed pussy. Stripping you, your breath hitched as he inserted two fingers, your clit slicked with pleasure.
“Ohh Arvin, hmm.” You breathed into his ears, enjoying the way he shuddered when you said his name. Pulling for a moment, he looked you up and down before removing his boxers awkwardly, head slanting because of the roof, his thick cock springing out like nobody’s business, making you clench your thighs.
Shoving your thighs, you hooked your legs around him, pulling him down as he slid in your entrance. “Are you sure?” He breathed as you nodded in response, stroking his chest that made him clench, his abs more visible under the sunlight.
“Come on baby, I’m waiting.” You teased, scratching your nails along the V of his stomach. Arching your back, you grunted as he thrusted into you, your walls closing in as your hips clashed against each other.
“You like that baby girl? Like it when I’m inside you?” He cooed, making your stomach coil in pleasure. Momentarily, you gave up the sweet girl facade, your heart racing as if you had run a marathon. How could it be tame? when he was inside you, making you feel all kinds of things?
“Yes, I do Arvin, oh Jesus you’re amazing!” You jerked. You weren’t sure when you had had such a good fuck before, and sure enough never this fast had you reached your high. And Arvin? Jesus, he was a sight for sore eyes, his eyes clenched as he pushed inside your walls, hitting your g-spot, making you gasp in pleasure. His muscled chest vibrating as you felt your stomach tighten.
“Saying God’s name like that while we’re fucking? You wanna be a bad girl now?” He smirked later, not really meaning what he said. If it meant that you would be saying his name with that pretty mouth of yours, he wouldn’t mind it.
“This is not sin, baby, this is pleasure. Call it what you want but I said what I said.” You drawled, pulling yourself up, his hard dick still inside you as you sat up, taking his face in your hands and hovering your lips over his. “You’re so sweet Arvin, you wanna fuck again?”
“I would love to.” He said shakily, leaning forward to capture your lips again. You dance along like that, him kissing your mouth, and your neck, then your breasts, leaving marks all over you, The Backstreet Boys playing on the junk radio of his car. “You’re the prettiest girl I’ve ever seen.”
“And you have the prettiest little lips.” You said, holding his chin and delicately caressing his soft lips and leaning in for another kiss.
                                 ____________________________
The next day you saw him again, acid washed jacket and backwards cap, striped T-shirt that fit him quite snugly. He was walking with the girl again, the girl who the boys teased relentlessly. You didn’t understand why they did so, make a poor girl question herself when those whores out there were just as bad. Lenora was a sweet girl, you liked her.
Running towards him, you quickly fixed your sweater and skirt, taming the strands near your shoulder.
“Hey Arvin!” You said nervously. He had been a gentleman to you. He looked up smiling, telling Lenora to make her way as you, lighting a smoke on his way. Scowling, you took the stick out of his mouth.
Looking down, he smiled, “Hey Y/N.”
He was fiddling with his fingers again. You took his hands in yours, tracing the veins on his arms. You saw his pupils inflate like a balloon.
“So um, do you have practice today?” He asked, biting his bottom lip and giving you a tentative smile.
“Nah, coach called in sick today. Do you wanna go to Mickey-D’s?” You ask. The school lane was almost empty now, buses leaving to drop off the kids.
“Sure, I don’t have no work today anyways.” He stuffed his hands in his pocket. He was a handsome boy, and you felt extremely lucky that someone like him had asked you to do him in the backseat of a car. Not only that but he was sweet but not enough to not stand up for himself or the others. With a start, you realised that he wasn’t like the other boys in your school.
Handing him his smoke back, you let your hands linger on his shoulder for a moment, cupping his cheek. You leaned in, feeling his hands twitch, and kissed him. It felt nice.

*Fully dusts off BATIM Monster AU due to it being the spooky month* You know, I don't think I've pinned down what type of monster Thomas was when I started this...
And I recently realized that I have a strong lack of vampires in this AU.
The GENT Mechanic wasn't a full-on monster hater. He had no interest in joining any monster-hunting group that sniffed him out, he often rolled his eyes at small-town preachers who looked down at them, and he mostly minded his own business when it came to the tricky relationship between humans and monsters.
But he also wasn't anywhere as enthusiastic about the studio as Joey and Allison were. He was a sensible man, he knew that monsters were dangerous and that it was stupid not to only trust them at an arm's length.
He could admit that he admired that his client could go as far as to start an entire animation empire just to ensure that his friend (and many others he had met along the way) would be in a place where they weren't seen as outcasts and wouldn't stop doing what they loved because of their circumstances, but he couldn't help but feel... wary of the majority of the studio's strange inhabitants.
Nobody would blame the human mechanic for avoiding the music department as often as he could, knowing the Music Director and how he viewed humans, it would be like blaming a mouse for avoiding a lion's den.
At the same time, he would get funny looks from others as he never went near the studio without a silver cross, an iron ring, a small bag of mixed herbs that was dubbed 'monster bane' due to it being a mix of various monster-repelling plants, and a bag of salt. Because of this, Thomas was not a popular person in the mostly-monster populated studio, but that didn't matter to him.
This wasn't his circus, it wasn't his monkeys, and once his contract ended, he'd probably never go there again. At least, that's what he would tell himself until the day wearing his cross started to burn himself.
--------
"It's a good thing that Allison found you in this state and threw your... wards away imminently." Dr. Hackenbush sighed as he continued to apply the numbing paste to his still twitching patient's neck. "Due to the secrecy surrounding vampire covens, their reluctance to talk about their various races' weaknesses as they're a monster hunter's favorite prey, and the many different types of vampires in the world, it's actually hard to determine what can and can't kill a recently turned vamp. Especially when one can't remember the circumstances of their change."
Tom was partly focusing on what the doctor was telling him, partly freaking himself out by trying and failing to remember how and why he had turned, and mostly keeping an eye out on the entrance to the infirmary as if he expected something to fly in and finish him off.
"Vampires in general might be notoriously hard to keep down for the count, but the process of the metamorphosis from human to vampire is extremely exhausting on the newly made fledgling." The doctor stated as he moved on to put more of the paste on Tom's other injured areas. "While this wouldn't be lethal to an older vamp, it's still extremely painful to them and considered to be torture among many of their races. In your current state and judging based off of the traits I've seen so far... ...I strongly suspect that the cross would've eventually burnt your head clean off your neck if you had not been found in time."
Thomas absentmindedly put his hand where his cross would normally be and gritted his teeth.
Nobody visited him yet, nobody aside from Allison even approached the door before the doctor shooed her out. He wasn't in the state to receive visitors yet, but he could already feel the parade of smug monsters gawking at him. He could already hear them laughing at the loss of his humanity, he could already picture several of them sticking their noses up at his misery declaring 'serves you right!' at him.
"...Could you open your mouth for me Mr. Conner?"
"Huh?" The mechanic snapped out of his day-nightmare and acknowledged the doctor's request. "Oh yeah, sure."
"Thank goodness, it seems that you've been brought in just at the cusp of changing..." While Tom didn't close his mouth on the doctor, he did look at him funny when he began to paint a different paste in his mouth, specifically, on his gums and teeth. The stuff made his mouth feel strongly like static in a matter of seconds. "Comment all you want, but you'd be thanking me if you knew exactly how much of a bitch it would hurt if you had to go through this without the strongest painkillers mankind could make."
"Well I ned mure af ha stuff if I turn inta a baht manstah?"
The mechanic half sarcastically asked through an extremely numb mouth as soon as the doctor was done putting the paste in there.
"No, unlike a werewolf who will transform based on the position of the moon, a vampire's ability to turn into a bat is normally rooted in the said vampire's willpower and or their mental and emotional state. It will not hurt unless you will it to. But turning into a bat and back again will use up a lot of energy and burn a ton of calories, so I don't recommend it as of right now. For similar reasons, I also wouldn't recommend swimming twenty miles and running a marathon back to back either."
The doctor did a once-over on his patient's treated injuries and checked his vitals before giving him his normal clothes back.
"Alright, it seems that everything's up to order..." The doctor proceeded to write down a list that he handed to Thomas. "Don't eat anything until after you can fully feel your mouth again, otherwise you might accidentally cut out your own tongue. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to either come to me about it or ask around the studio for either werewolf packs or vampire covens. The latter's rarer than the former but werewolves and vampires have been known to get along well due to the pair often engaging in a symbiotic relationship."
"I thawt tat Wahwoles an vamhires hated each other..?"
He was internally grateful that the staticky feeling of his mouth was subsiding just enough for him to be able to talk normally again.
"That's a common misconception that came from World War II I'm afraid; American soldiers who happen to be vampires hate Nazis who happen to be werewolves and vice versa."
Thomas frowned as he stopped to read the list, it was basically a bunch of common vampire dos and don'ts, mostly don'ts; avoid sunlight, religious symbols and texts, mirrors in public areas, etc. He ran his tongue against his top and bottom canine teeth and while his tongue still felt off from the medicine, he could tell that those teeth were longer and sharper.
He knew that with each passing second, he was becoming more and more like one of the studio's many monsters that he was wary of, and he felt gutted because of it.
"...Thanks for everything, doc. I... I'll go ask Joey for some time off to adjust to all of... this."
-------------
Instead of going to Joey, Tom had spent the rest of the day trying to carry on with his daily tasks and work as usual, fixing up the pipes, checking on the Ink machine, mostly just trying to bury the knowledge of his vampirism in work.
Thankfully he was unbothered by the studio's workers, so it mostly worked out fine for him. Until he got to his least favorite part of the studio to work in: The music department.
Part of him was tempted to just make Wally do this, but as a werewolf, Wally would sense that he wasn't wearing silver or wolf's bane anymore and would be curious as to why he wasn't wearing any. He didn't want to lie to him but he also didn't want the Janitor to find out about his ...condition, he wasn't ready for that yet. In fact, he didn't want anyone in the studio's wolf pack to find out about this. He had goosebumps on the outside and inside just thinking about how they'd react.
He knew that they wouldn't be smug about it like how he assumed other monsters would, even worse than that. They'd know that he didn't have a coven as he was only recently turned, so they'd probably welcome him into the pack with open arms, especially if he was one of those vampires that was able to turn into a wolf too. They'd freely and willingly accept them as one of their own, a monster.
He tried to shake those thoughts away and continue to work on pipes that had been bitten into by the godforsaken raven monster. He cursed about Sammy under his breath as he fixed them as usual. He could feel the music director's presence as he did so, but unlike how this normally went, he didn't sense any hostility or hunger coming from the looming shadow of the beast in human's clothing.
Thomas had his back turned away from the normally wrathful monster, he wasn't seeing what the man's expression was. He didn't know if the damned bird was proud of his lost humanity, looking at him like he was now worthy of being an underling of his, or if the musician simply pitied him for god knows why.
But the mere presence of the beast alone was driving him crazy.
"Leave! Me! ALONE!" The vampire mechanic spun around and half-shouted half-hissed at the confused looking music director. "I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU'RE THINKING ABOUT ME, BUT I DON'T NEED YOU TO LOOM OVER MY WORK AND RUB IN WITH YOUR PRESENCE THAT I'M A FUCKING UNDEAD, BLOOD-SUCKING, FANGED FREAK!"
Thomas wasn't sure which reaction he was excepting from the beast, but he felt a mixture of goosebumps and anger as the director stepped forward and looked at him with intrigue.
"...Do you mean a vampire?"
"Yes, of course I do." The mechanic rolled his eyes as he fought back the urge to fight the raven. "What gave it away?"
Sammy smiled at him, not in that hungry 'I want to eat you but know that I can't' kind of smile, but also not a smug 'haha! you're a monster too now!' way. Before today, Thomas wasn't sure that Sammy was physically capable of smiling like that and it both creeped him out and made him angrier about this situation.
"Nothing, you simply told me that yourself."
"...Then why were you starring at me like that?"
The Bird monster shrugged.
"I was just wondering why your presence didn't seem to harm anyone anymore." He stated as he turned to leave Tom to do his work. "I guess I know why now."

That Eye Chapter 24
On Wattpad
You always attend the funeral. First to pay your respects. Secondly to watch. It is an old saying that the killer always attends or watches the funeral, but a fairly true one. So, they will go and watch.

They take seats in the back, as the mourners gather.  A lot of her classmates.  The janitor that found her, the preacher for Christ Church. A few they don’t know. As they sit close to the front, they assume they are family. The parents come in last. In black from head to toe, Mrs. Samuel even wears the black mourning veil. They hold each other up, as two older couples, their parents, guide them to the front. Both detectives get lumps in their throats at seeing them. Their grief is so rare.

They go up to the casket. Willow’s earthly remains lay, in a high necked dress to cover her life ending wounds. The morticians had done as they could but it was obviously not the beautiful vibrant girl in the pictures that frame her casket. Then her mom wail. It sends shivers down both their spines.

“She hated turtle necks. Said she couldn’t breath in them.” Her dad states as he attempts to comfort his wife. “That is what hit her. That it doesn’t matter.” Then he broke into tears himself.

Their parents lead them to their seats and Anya, seating in the second row, reaches over to comfort them.  The soft instrumental sounds of Contemporary Christian music fills the space left by her parents reaction. Slowly, those that wish, file up and past Willow’s casket. Sniffles and soft conversations echo back. The detectives stay seated. They watch the mourners.

Anya approaches with a group of her classmates.  “Her dad is right. She would have hated that dress.” One says.

“They had to..” Anya trails off out of respect for the Samuel’s.

“Yeah, I want to be buried naked. No reason to waste clothes.” One of the guys says. A few of the girls roll their eyes but Anya glares at them.

“This is no place for that. Keep that humor to yourself.” She hisses at him.

He looks abashed and lowers his eyes as he heads back to his seat. The girls follow. Anya stays for a moment, her head down. A few sniffles are heard in the crowd as she says good bye to her friend.  She then rejoins family and close friends in the first two rows.

August and Remington have been to a lot of funerals. It is different when it is someone young. The old are expected to die. Not by homicide but, their funerals are still not as sad. More melancholy. But a young person with their whole life ahead, they are the ones that tear your heart out. When the death certificate is only dated a few months after the diploma, it is test of their professionalism not to break down.

The preacher has only good things to say about the departed, child of God, they are honoring. He speaks of her work in VBS and how the children all loved her. He mentions her service for the elderly and others housebound. How she would come seat and listen to them, read to them. She would write letters when their hands could no longer do it. Several elderly folks among her mourners nodded along. One even softly said, ‘amen’.

There are few dry eyes in the place when he is done. The children’s choir sings a sweet version of. “I can only imagine.” and a few smiles are found. Then Anya steps up to deliver a eulogy.

“Willow was all the things Brother Charlie said she was. All those things and more. She was my best friend but there are few folks her that wouldn’t say the same. That is because is because, if you knew her, she made you feel so special, like she was your best friend, even if the acquaintance is only an hour long. That was just Willow. We had an autistic boy in our class in third grade. He would speak to no one until Willow approached him one day. To the shock of all, he responded to her hi with one of his own. She remained the only one he would talk to through most of third grade, until she slowly got him talking to the others. His parents called her a miracle worker. I was blessed enough to call her my friend.

Now, in case you think she was a saint, I need to tell you, she had a temper. She would stand up for what was right. There were very little shades of grey. She was all black and white. What was right was right and wrong was wrong. My mom says all teenagers think that way but, I don’t think so. I think it was just her extreme personality. She was just all in on everything. She got on a project, she stuck to it. She hated as fiercely as she loved. But, not individuals. No, her hate was directed at injustice, at ignorance, the stuff that breeds violence, hate, prejudice. She could get quite loud when discussing that type of stuff.

She would have changed the world like she changed Eli’s, the autistic boy I was talking about. She would have changed it one smile, one laugh, on offered hand at a time. In her honor, I resolve to start smiling at strangers, laughing at corny jokes and, putting my hand out to help others up. That’s what Willow would have wanted. To be world changers. To spread the light she can’t anymore. The murderer can’t distinguish her light if we all keep shining.

I will miss my friend forever. When I get married and she isn’t by my side. When I hold my first child. At every significant moment in my life, she has been there, up until now. She will be missed at all the rest. Good bye my darling friend. “ Her head lowers and the preacher comes up to escort her back to her seat as the youth choir comes up and sings, ‘Amazing Grace ( My chains are gone). The preacher says a closing prayer and the pallbearers come up. They are all young men from among her classmates.

The casket is carried down and the family follows, then everyone is dismissed. The detectives get in line to follow the others to the graveside.

“It was a beautiful service.” Remie says.

“Yes. It honored her. I didn’t see anyone who could be a suspect, did you?”

“I am not sure. I need to noodle on it a bit.” August looks at her with surprise as she starts out, following the others in the long procession. Her words are seldom heard. They mean there is something off to her. He lets her noodle it as they follow the line of cars to the grave site.

The service there is brief. A few words are said by the preacher. He gives her parents and other love ones the hope of heaven, says a prayer and that is it. The students file past her parents, giving their condolences. The young man who talked of being buried nude, apologizes. Her dad says, “She would have laughed. It is okay.”

The two detectives are at the end of the line. “Thank you for coming. It means a lot to my wife and I.”  Mrs. Samuel had said nothing sense the wail and Remie looks concerned at her. “Don’t worry. She will be okay. It is just a lot, you know. She was our only. Took years to start her. We had almost given up hope. Then she came. A gift of heaven.”

“That heaven wanted back.” Mrs. Samuel softly says.

“We are so sorry for your loss.”

“Thank you for getting him. It helps a little.” Mr. Samuel says.

The walk away, leaving them to say goodbye.

This is a world where everybody's gotta do something. Y'know, somebody laid down this rule that everybody's gotta do something, they gotta be something. You know, a dentist, a glider pilot, a narc, a janitor, a preacher, all that. Sometimes I just get tired of thinking of all the things that I don't wanna do. All the things that I don't wanna be. Places I don't wanna go, like India, like getting my teeth cleaned. Save the whale, all that, I don't understand that.

Note
unplanned variable asks #10, 14 & 18, please!
Thanks for the questions! (these answers may contain some spoilers for Sea of Stars)
#10: Aayla’s favorite place in Halcyon is Emerald Vale. She was awestruck by the alien beauty of the vale when she first arrived, and it’s where she met the two most important people in her life: Parvati & Max. Her least favorite place is Scylla. It’s cold and desolate and brings back bad memories of what she saw while under the influence of the hermit’s drugs.
#14: Max: The handsome yet grumpy, foul-mouthed preacher with violent tendencies was very different from the other "holy men" Aayla was used to, and she was immediately fascinated by him. They both realize the other is lying to them. (Max knows Aayla is not really "Alex Hawthorne," and Aayla suspects Max isn't really looking for a translator) and they are constantly trying to get the other to crack and fess up. Over time, their witty back and forths turn into genuine conversations, and when the truth finally comes out for them both, it only serves to strengthen their bond, not sever it. Aayla’s always had a bit of an attraction to Max, but after events on Monarch, her feelings blossom into a full-blown crush. Once they go to Scylla, Max begins to finally realize and acknowledge his own feelings for Aayla. It’s not long after that they get together.
Parvati: Aayla quickly took a liking to the shy mechanic and treats her as her own little sister. She is a bit overprotective of her new charge at times, but is always available to her for advice and encouragement. Parvati idolizes her Captain, and is impressed by her overwhelming kindest towards others, a rarity in the colony. Aayla is the biggest supporter of Parvati & Junlei's relationship and is more than eager to teach her young charge how to win the good chief's engineer's heart. But as the adventure progresses, it soon becomes Parvati offering Aayla counsel on how to deal with her growing feelings for Max.
Felix: Aayla is delighted by the young Back Bay worker who wanted to see the rest of the colony and wouldn't take no for an answer. Aayla rolled her eyes when Max referred to him as a "stray," but in many ways the vicar was right. Felix tended to follow Aayla everywhere and was more than eager to wallop any marauder or beast that came near "the Boss," like an overly-attached puppy. But Aayla didn't mind, she found his eagerness and energy to be endearing and adorable. Over time, he proved to be a capable and loyal member of the crew. Like Parvati, Felix greatly admires the Boss, and in his own words, he "would walk through fire for her."
Ellie: After helping her friend Jessie out of a bad spot, Ellie decided the only way to pay Aayla back was to come along with her on her mission. Truth be told, Ellie had heard of her exploits all over Groundbreaker, and wanted to see if this Captain was really as impressive as everyone made her out to be. Aayla reminds Ellie too much of the stuck-up Byzantines she left behind, so she often gives her a hard time. Aayla, meanwhile, sees Ellie for what she really is: a jaded trust fund kid playing at being a badass. But she doesn’t demean Ellie and has genuine respect for her skills in battle and as a doctor.
Nyoka: Aayla is continually impressed by Nyoka’s knowledge of the beasts of the colony, and she is just as ferocious as any of them in a fight. Nyoka in turn was impressed by the Captain's tenacity, as not many folks were willing to brave the wilds of Monarch, and her kindness when it came to putting her old team to rest. Nyoka is surprisingly observant and insightful and makes for good company, when she's not blackout drunk on the floor of her cabin. Again.
SAM: Aayla didn’t know what to expect from the janitorial automech, but what she got was a walking talking advertisement with no sense of decorum or privacy. Sometimes the only reason he’s still operational is because Parvati took a shine to him. Still, SAM has managed to prove his usefulness both as a janitor and as heavy firepower.
#18: It takes a lot more than pretty words to win Aayla over, as she can flatter and flirt with the best of them. She likes someone who can challenge her intellectually (Max), someone who can match her quip for quip and offer genuine conversation. Best her in a battle of wits, and you’ll have her undivided attention. She also very fond of people who can make her genuinely laugh (Felix) or smile (Parvati).

SPN- No Exit (2.06)
Tumblr media
Pairing: N/A, Olive Winchester (OC)
Summary: Ellen forces Jo to hand a new case over to the Winchesters, Dean has to protect yet another person, the siblings find out bad news, and Olive stands up for her boys
Warnings: cursing, a serial killer, blood, ghosts and stuff
Word Count: 5241
“Los Angeles, California.” Dean wiggled his eyebrows.
“What’s in L.A.?” I asked, following him out of the car.
“Young girl’s been kidnapped by an evil cult.”
“Yeah?” Sam raised his eyebrows. “Girl got a name?”
“Yeah.” Dean grinned. “Katie Holmes.”
Sam snorted as Dean giggled. “That’s funny. And for you, so bitchy.”
The sound of breaking glass and shouts came from inside the Roadhouse. I flinched and shuffled closer to Dean. Sam scooped Jinx out of the car.
“On the other hand…” He shrugged. “Catfight.”
“Hell no, that’s scary! Let’s just go. We can come back later.” I begged, tugging at Dean’s sleeve.
“Nope. Come on.” Dean dragged me toward the door.
“Sams?” I looked over my shoulder as I was helplessly pulled along.
He shrugged.
“I am your mother, I don’t have to be reasonable!” Ellen shouted as we slowly walked in.
“You can’t keep me here!” Jo yelled.
“Oh, don’t you bet on that, sweetie.”
“What are you gonna do, ma? Chain me up in the basement?”
“You know what, you’ve had worse ideas than that recently! Hey, you don’t wanna stay, don’t stay. Go back to school.” Ellen snarled.
The three of us cringed. Hearing that was worse than hearing nails on a chalkboard.
“I didn’t belong there!” Jo screamed. “I was a freak with a knife collection!”
“Yeah, and getting yourself killed on some dusty back road, that’s where you belong?” Ellen turned and saw the three of us.
Jinx whined, I froze like a deer in headlights, Dean squared his shoulders and avoided eye contact, and Sam scratched the back of his neck.
“Kids, bad time.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
“Sorry.”
“Yeah, we barely drink before ten anyways.”
“Wait.” Jo snapped. “I wanna know what they think about this.”
A couple walked through the door with their two kids, who were still little toddlers. They were obviously tourists, and they looked between Jo and Ellen with wide eyes.
“I don’t care what they think!”
“Are you guys open?”
“No!”
“Yes!”
The dad backed away. “We’ll just… check out the Arby’s down the road.”
The family left quickly, and the phone went off. Jo glared at it, and Ellen stalked over to answer. She snatched the phone up with a scowl. We sat down at the bar with heavy sighs from each.
“Harvelle’s. Yeah, Preacher.”
Jo shoved a manilla folder Dean’s way, and he backed up in his seat. “Three weeks ago a young girl disappears from a Philadelphia apartment.”
Dean only looked at the folder with wide eyes.
“Take it, it won’t bite.”
“No, but your mom might.” Dean whispered.
I took the folder from her and opened it up. “What else ya got, Jo?”
“This girl wasn't the first. Over the past eighty years six women have vanished. All from the same building, all young blondes. Only happens every decade or two so cops never eyeball the pattern. So we're either dealing with one very old serial killer, or…”
“Who put this together?” Dean looked over my shoulder. “Ash?”
“I did it myself.” Jo snapped.
I hummed. “Nice.”
“I mean, we have hit the road for a lot less.”
“Good.” Ellen hissed. “You like the case so much, you take it!”
“Mom!” Jo whined.
“Joanna Beth, this family has lost enough! I won’t lose you too… I just won’t.”
                                                         ***
“I feel kind of bad…” Sam sighed. “Snaking Jo’s case.”
“Yeah, maybe she put together a good file. But could you see her out here actually working a case?” Dean raised an eyebrow.
Sam and I shrugged. Jinx tugged at the leash, and I pulled back. She wanted Dean, but Dean didn’t wanna hold the leash.
“Yeah, I don’t think so.”
Sam and Dean pulled out EMF readers and I looked high and low, my new glasses on.
“You getting anything?”
“No. Not yet.” Sam shook his head.
“Ol?”
“Nothing.”
Sam ran his EMF over a light switch, and it went off. He leaned over and squinted, looking disgusted.
“What’s that?”
“What’s what?” Dean and I crowded him.
Sam touched a black goo oozing from the switch, and I groaned. He huffed. Jinx jumped at our feet, snorting and sniffing. I touched the goo and groaned. I put my fingers down to let Jinx smell it. She pulled away with a loud whine. She dropped onto her stomach and ran her paws over her face.
“Holy crap.”
Dean reached over my head and touched it, rubbing his fingers together.
“That’s ectoplasm. Guys, I think I know what we’re dealing with here.” Dean got serious, then turned to us with a grin. “It’s the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.”
Sam rolled his eyes and I giggled.
“Dean, I’ve only seen this stuff like… twice. I mean, to make this shit, you’ve gotta be one majorly pissed off spirit.”
Dean sighed. “Alright, let’s find this badass before he snags any more girls.”
                                                           ***
We rounded the corner and continued down the hallway. We heard two voices, and Dean reacted quickest, pulling us both to hide in a corner. Sam snatched Jinx off the floor and held her against his chest. She had gotten big, and Sam was the only one who could carry her without much of a struggle.
“It is so spacious! You know, my friend told me I absolutely have to come check it out, and I have to admit, she was right. You did a really good job with this place.”
I tilted my head and looked at Dean. He looked angry.
That’s Jo.
I nodded.
Definitely.
Dean stepped out first, catching them as they turned the corner.
“What the hell are you doing here?” He hissed in a low voice.
“There you are, honey.” Jo didn’t skip a beat, and she settled into Dean’s side with an arm around his waist.
Sam and I stood back, a bit confused. Jinx let out a whine as Sam put her down.
“This is my boyfriend Dean, his little sister Olive, and their buddy, Sam. This is our doggy! I’m so glad this place is pet friendly.” She grinned.
“Good to meet ya. Quite a gal you’ve got here.”
Dean slapped her ass and I cringed. I couldn’t exactly duck into Sam’s side, since I wasn’t his sister.
“Oh, yeah.” Dean smiled. “She’s a pistol.”
Sam flinched, and I stifled a snort. He was beyond pissed, the irritation dancing over his face was proof enough.
“So, did you already check out that apartment? The one for rent?” Jo smiled at me over her shoulder.
“Yeah. Yes, loved it.” Dean hummed.
“It’s got great flow.” I added.
“How’d you get in?” The landlord squinted at us.
“Oh, it was open.”
“Now, Ed, um, when did the last tenant move out?”
“Oh, about a month ago. Cut and run, too. Stiffed me for the rent.” He sighed.
“Well. Her loss, our gain! Cause if Deano loves it, it’s good enough for me!”
Sam and I shared a look, and Dean slapped Jo’s ass again. I shuddered. I caught the minuscule anger flashing behind his expression, but it was still gross to watch. I felt like I was gonna puke. Sam gave me a sympathetic smile.
Jo pulled out a wad of cash. “We’ll take it.”
                                                           ***
“I’ll flip you for the sofa.” Jo turned to Dean as he finished cleaning his gun.
“Does your mother even know you’re here?” Dean spat back.
“Told her I was going to Vegas.” Jo grabbed the folder off the table.
Sam was sitting at the end, cleaning his shotgun. Dean was sitting on the table, his back to Jo. I was sitting on the table, opposite of Sam. I had my legs crossed and my new gun in my lap.
“You think she’s gonna buy that?”
“I’m not an idiot.” Jo spat. “I got Ash to lay a credit card trail all the way to the casinos.”
Sam and I shared a look over Dean’s shoulder.
“You know, you shouldn’t lie to your mom.” Dean chastised. “Shouldn’t be here either.”
Jo looked to Sam, expecting support. Sam met her eyes and said nothing as he continued to work on his shotgun. She huffed and turned to me. I shrugged, holding the gun in my hands and slowly flipping it over and over.
“Well, I am.” She snapped. “So untwist your boxers and deal with it.”
“Where’d you get all that money from, anyways?” Sam spoke.
“Working at the Roadhouse.”
“Hunters don’t tip well.” I got the courage to speak, too.
“Well, they aren’t that good at poker, either.” She smiled.
Dean’s phone went off and he climbed off the table so he could fish it out of his pocket. He flipped it open and put it up to his ear.
“Yeah?”
His face drained of color and he looked straight up at Jo. Jinx let out a howl, sensing his panic.
“Oh, hi, Ellen.” He walked around to my end of the table, lips curled up.
Jo went right at him as he held the phone to his shoulder. “I’m telling her.”
Jo hissed something back, and he looked ready to jump. Sam shot up, and I put the gun aside and swung my legs over the edge of the table, facing Dean and Jo.
“Don’t you fucking dare.” Jo glared.
Dean put the phone back to his ear. “I haven’t seen her. Yeah, I-I’m sure.” A beat. “Absolutely.”
Jo shot Dean a cute little smile as he shut the phone, and he had murder in his eyes as he stared her down. Sam glanced over at me, and I shrugged.
                                                        ***
“This place was built in 1924. It was originally a warehouse, converted to apartments a few months ago.” Jo had the blueprints open in front of her, and she was flipping a pocket knife around.
“Yeah? What was here before 1924?” Dean was pacing.
“Nothing.” She shook her head. “Empty field.”
“So, most likely scenario, someone died bloody in the building, and now he’s back and raising hell.” Sam didn’t look up from his own papers.
“I already checked. In the past eighty two years, zero violent deaths.” She shrugged. “Unless you count a janitor who slipped on a wet floor.” She turned and glared at Dean. “Would you sit down, please?”
Dean pulled out the chair next to me and sat on it, backwards. “So, have you checked police reports, county death records-”
“Obituaries, mortuary reports, and seven other sources. I know what I’m doing.”
I frowned.
Seven other sources? Where’d she get those?
“I think the jury’s still out on that one.”
Sam bit back a smile and I had to scratch my nose to hold myself together.
“Could you put the knife down?”
She did as he asked, and the tension, along with the bickering, was becoming unbearable.
“Okay!” Sam cleared his throat. “So, uh, it’s something else then. Maybe some kind of cursed object that brought a spirit with it.”
“Well, we’ve gotta scan the whole building then. Everywhere we can get to, right?” Jo looked between the three of us.
“Right. So. You and me, we’ll take the top two floors. Sam, get the first, Olive take the second.” Dean stood.
Sam and I nodded, and Jo scoffed.
“We’d move faster if we split up.” She got up and got in Dean’s face.
“Oh, this isn’t negotiable.” Dean had an irritated smile on his face.
“You know, I’ve had it up to here with your crap.” Jo spat.
I looked down at the floor, then up at Sam.
What do we do?
He gave me a small shrug.
I don’t know.
“Excuse me?”
“Your chauvinist crap. You think women can’t do the job!” She accused.
A snort escaped my nose, and she side-eyed me. Sam scratched his cheek, looking away. Dean gave his annoyed smile again.
“Sweetheart, this ain’t gender studies.” He shook his head. “Women can do the job fine.” He looked my way and shrugged. “Hell, I trust Olive with my life. She can do the job, I know she can. But amateurs can’t. You have no experience.”
She rolled her eyes, and I cleared my throat. I got up and pulled an EMF meter from the duffel on the table and called Jinx over.
“I’ll take her.”
Dean nodded, and I pressed a quick kiss to the side of Sam’s head.
“See you guys soon.”
                                                        ***
The door busted open, and I rolled over, now fully awake. Jinx barked, and I realized she was curled up next to me. Dean had taken the couch, and I had fallen asleep on the floor, leaning next to him. Sam must’ve moved me to the bed.
“Where’s the coffee?” Dean grumbled.
“There are cops outside.” Sam’s voice rang out, and his panic was clear.
I sat up and rubbed my eyes. “What?”
“Another girl disappeared.”
“Shit.” Jo hissed.
“Alright, let’s move.” Dean clapped his hands.
“Wait, I’m not dressed.” I complained.
“You’re staying.”
“What? Why?” I stumbled out of the bed, socks sliding on the clean floor.
Dean caught me by the elbows and steadied me. “Get dressed. Take Jinx for a walk. Go get some coffee.” He pulled his wallet out of his pocket and handed me a twenty. “Be safe, okay? Love you.”
I blinked, trying to get my eyes clear. “Love you too.”
He kissed my head and gathered his things. Sam pressed a kiss to my forehead, and Jo gave me a soft smile.
“Be careful, guys!” I called as they walked out the door.
                                                        ***
Sam and Jo were looking over the notes, and I was digging into the history of this part of Philadelphia, which was proving more work than I had anticipated. Dean slid back into the room and shut the door behind himself. Jinx jumped up and ran to greet him.
“Teresa Ellis. Apartment 2F. Boyfriend reported her missing around dawn.” He spoke as he bent down to pet Jinx.
“What about her apartment?” Jo looked up.
“Cracks all over the plaster, wall, ceiling. Ectoplasm, too.”
“Well, between that and the hair you guys found in the vent, I’d say this fucker’s coming from the walls.” Sam sighed.
“Yeah, but who is it?” Dean began to pace. “Building’s history is totally clean.”
I huffed as I stumbled upon something. “We’re looking in the wrong place.”
The three of them turned to squint at me.
“What?”
“We’re next door to a prison. Moyamensing prison. Built in 1835, torn down about forty years ago. They used to execute people by hanging them in the empty field.”
“Which is where this building was built.” Jo put it together.
I nodded. “Well, then, we’ll need a list. All the people executed here.”
“I’ll see what I can dig up.” I turned my focus back to the laptop.
“I’ll call Ash, see what he can get.”
                                                        ***
“A hundred and fifty seven names?” Sam groaned as we scrolled down the list.
“We’ve gotta narrow this down, or we’ll be digging up graves for the next month.” I pinched the bridge of my nose.
“Yeah.” Sam sighed.
Sam noticed something on the list and tapped my hand. I stopped scrolling and looked up at him.
“What is it, Sams?”
“Herman Webster Mudgett…” He clicked on the name with a frown.
“Yeah?” Jo asked.
“Oh, shit…”
“Wasn’t that H.H. Holmes’s real name?”
“You’ve gotta be fucking me.” Dean came and sat next to us, eyes on the screen.
“Oh my god.” I breathed out as I pulled up a search on him. “He was executed at Moyamensing. May seventh, 1896.”
“H. H. Holmes himself…” Sam sighed. “Come on, I mean… what are the odds?”
“Wait, who is this guy?” Jo’s eyebrows were furrowed.
“The term multi-murderer.” Dean sighed. “They coined it to describe Holmes.”
“He was America’s first serial killer. Before anybody even knew what a serial killer was.”
“Yeah. He confessed to twenty seven murders. They could only confirm nine, some of the people he claimed to have killed were still alive, and the police put the death toll at over two hundred.”
“Oh, and his victim flavor of choice? Pretty petite blondes.” Dean grunted. “He used chloroform to kill em.” He squinted as he began to think. “Which is what I smelled in the hallway last night. At his place, police found human remains, bone fragments, and long locks of bloody blonde hair.”
“Well, Jo.” I hummed. “You sure know how to pick em.”
“We just find the bones, salt them, and burn them. Right?”
I shook my head as I scrolled through the article. “Not that easy. His body is buried across town, but it’s encased in a couple tons of concrete.”
“What? Why?”
“Story goes that he didn’t want anybody mutilating his corpse. Cause… ya know… that’s what he used to do.”
“Guys, we might have an even bigger problem.” Sam noted.
“How does this get bigger?”
“Holmes built an apartment building in Chicago. He called it the Murder Castle. The whole place was a death factory. Trap doors, acid vats, quicklime pits. He built secret chambers inside the walls. He’d lock his victims in, keep them alive for days. Some would suffocate, others would starve to death.”
“Fuck. That means Teresa could be alive.”
Dean sat up straight. “Alright, we need sledgehammers, crowbars. We’ve gotta smash these walls, anywhere thick enough to hide a girl.”
“Okay. How are we doing this?”
“Jo and I will take the top two floors. Olive, I want you with Sam. You two check the bottom floors.”
I sighed. “It’ll be faster if we split up like we did last time. I’m not blonde, chances are he won’t come after me.”
Dean shook his head. “Not taking any chances.” He turned and shared a look with Sam.
Neither said a word, but I knew what was going on.
We protect them, no matter what.
Sam gave the slightly nod.
Of course.
                                                        ***
“Okay. Call us after you finish checking out the southeast wall.”
“Will do, Jo. Be careful.” I hung the phone up and turned to Sam with a heavy sigh. “They haven’t found shit either.”
He sighed and swept the EMF meter over my head. “What if we’re wrong? What if he doesn’t hide his victims in the walls?”
I shrugged. “I dunno, Sams. We’ve only got a little left. If nobody finds anything, we’ll reassess.”
He nodded. “Alright. Come on.”
                                                        ***
I heard the sound of hurried footsteps before I saw anything, and I squared my shoulders, ready to take somebody on. Dean rounded the corner and slammed into my shoulder, sending me stumbling backward into Sam.
“Hey!”
“De?”
He turned back to us, face pale. “He’s got Jo.”
“What?”
“I wasn’t with her.” Dean began to panic. “I left her alone. Damn it!”
“Hey, hey, hey.” Sam tried to calm him. “We’ll find her, alright?”
“Where?” Dean growled.
“Inside the walls, Dean.”
“We’ve been inside the walls all night! None of the other girls were there, she won’t be either!”
“Okay. Come on.” I grabbed his hand and began to tug him toward the stairs.
“What are you doing, Olive? We’ve gotta-”
“Right now, we’ve gotta calm down and reassess the whole situation. Maybe we got something wrong, maybe we missed something. Either way, we won’t find Jo right now, not like this. We need to calm down first. Okay? Let’s go.”
                                                           ***
“Maybe we got Holmes’ MO wrong.” Sam spoke calmly. “We just have to take a beat and think about this.”
Dean was pacing. “Yeah, well, we’d better think fucking fast.”
I sighed. Dean was totally freaked, because he thought this was his fault. No matter how this ended, he was going to blame himself. His phone rang, and he flipped it open.
“Yeah.”
He stopped cold and looked ready to burst into tears. I squinted at him. He put the phone on speaker and set it down on the table.
“You lied to me. She’s there.”
“Ellen-” Dean tried.
“No! Ash told me everything. Man’s a genius, but he folds like a cheap suit. Now you put my damn daughter on the phone.”
“She’s gonna have to call you back, she uh… she’s taking care of some lady business.” Dean gritted his teeth.
“Yeah, right. Where is she?”
The three of us stared at each other, each calculating.
“Where is she!”
“Look, we’ll get her back.” Dean blurted.
Sam and I glared with wide eyes, shocked.
“Get her back? Back from what?”
“Ellen, the spirit we’re hunting, it took her.” He explained.
“Oh my god.”
“She’ll be okay. I promise.” Dean spoke, and it was more than a promise.
This was an oath. He was swearing right now.
“You promise.” She growled. “That is not the first time I’ve heard that from a Winchester.”
“What?” I spoke up, now confused, and angry with her accusatory tone.
Sam knocked my arm and shook his head. I sighed and he nodded me over, pushing his laptop my way. I squinted at the blueprints of the murder castle and sighed.
“If anything happens to her…”
“It won’t. I won’t let it. Ellen, I’m sorry, I really am.”
“I’m taking the first flight out. I’ll be there in a few hours.”
The line cut off, and Dean let out a small string of curses. He turned to us with gleaming eyes.
“Hey.” I caught his attention. “This isn’t on you.”
“There’s nothing you could’ve done, don’t beat yourself up.” Sam spoke softly.
“Please tell me you’ve got something.”
“Look, you look at the layout of the Holmes murder castle, there’s all the torture chambers inside the walls, right?”
“Right.”
“But there’s one we haven’t considered yet. The basement.”
What Sam had shown me now clicked.
“This place doesn’t have a basement.”
“No, but there’s an old sewer system that looks like it hasn’t been touched-”
“Let’s go.” Dean cut me off and picked up his car keys.
                                                           ***
Sam swept a metal detector over the street as we walked. Dean had the shovel in his hand, and I had the backpack with our weapons on. Jinx tugged on her leash. If we died down there, she was safer above ground than in a haunted apartment. Sam caught something and looked, beckoning for us to follow. I hooked a finger on Dean’s belt loop as we followed the trail through an alley, and into an empty field. Sam stopped, and the metal detector let out a steady squeal.
“Here.”
Dean went to work, digging faster than I had ever seen. I shared a look with Sam. It took Dean four minutes before he hit metal and dropped to his knees. Sam dug with his good hand, and I went at it with both, feeling dirt crunch its way under my fingernails.
“Come help, girl.” Dean whistled.
Jinx made her way next to Sam and went wild, dirt flying behind her.
“Alright, here.” Dean stopped us and pushed at Jinx once we hit a metal trap door.
I dug through the backpack and handed Sam a shotgun first. He cocked it, and I handed another one to Dean. Sam looked around, making sure there was nobody watching. Dean tied Jinx’s leash to the bar of the door and patted her head. Sam planted a kiss on Jinx’s head before heading down.
“We’ll be back, girl.” I whispered as I fished out the last shotgun.
She whined, and I checked the flashlight before following after the boys.
                                                               ***
I heard Jo, clear as day, trying to scream. I pushed Sam’s foot, and he grunted, getting the message. Dean reached the clearing first and got to his feet, followed by Sam.
“Hey!”
Dean’s voice, and then a gunshot. Another girl screamed.
“Jo!”
“I’m here!”
Dean looked around, scrambling to find something. I spotted a bar of rebar and snatched it up. My teeth cracked in my jaw, and I groaned as I pushed Dean aside. I wedged the bar into the opening of Jo’s compartment with a deep breath.
“Ol-”
“Go help Sam.”
“Are-”
“Go help Sam.” I closed my eyes and took another deep breath.
The boys became background noise, and a low growl resonated in my throat. I balanced myself before turning and gripping the bar. I pulled as hard and fast as I could, and another growl ripped its way past my mouth. Jo squealed as the door popped off.
“Boys!” I shouted, getting their attention so I could hand the bar off.
I helped Jo scramble to her feet with a heavy sigh.
“Okay, are you alright?”
“Been better.” She eyed my fangs, but said nothing about them. “Let’s get out of here before he comes back.”
“Actually, I uh…” Dean turned with a huff as Sam helped Teresa get free. “I don’t think you’re leaving here just yet.”
“What?” Jo’s eyes went wide.
“Remember when we said you being bait was a stupid plan?” I asked, scratching the back of my neck. “Well, right now it’s kinda the only one we’ve got.”
The three of us turned to Sam. He had Teresa in a hug. She was shaking. He gave a pout and a bitchface, and I sighed. Dean shrugged.
Jo sighed. “Fine.”
                                                         ***
Jo sat in the middle of the chamber. She was silent, but she was trembling. She had her arms wrapped around her knees, but was taking deep and steady breaths. I didn’t see Holmes until he materialized behind her. I made a mental note to not rely on these glasses.
Holmes got closer, and closer, until he was standing right behind her.
“Now!” Dean shouted.
I lunged forward to tug Jo to safety as Sam and Dean shot at the walls. Bags of salt unfurled, trapping Holmes in a perfect circle. Jo shook in my arms as Holmes began to pace, screaming in terror and mumbling gibberish.
“Scream all you want, you dick! There’s no way you’re stepping over that salt!” Jo turned and howled.
“Alright. Come on. Let’s go, we’ve gotta get Teresa out of here.” Sam whispered, guiding us out.
                                                           ***
I sat in the grass and scratched Jinx’s chest. She was sitting between me and Sam. He was standing with Jo at the entrance of the sewer, looking down into the darkness.
“So. This job as glamorous as you thought it would be?” Sam teased.
“Well, except for all the pee-your-pants terror, yeah. But the girl’s gonna live a life because of us. It’s worth it.”
“Yeah.” Sam and I agreed. “It is.”
“Hey, what if somebody finds that sewer down there? Or a storm washes the salt away?” Jo pointed out.
Sam grinned. “Both very fine points. Which is why we’re waiting here.”
“For what?”
The beeping of a truck backing up went off, and Sam broke into a smile. I got to my feet and slid into his side as we watched a cement mixer back into the field. Jinx barked, and I handed her off to Sam as I guided Dean.
“For that.”
I beckoned with my hand, and then made a fist. He stopped right over the sewer entrance. Dean hopped out of the cab with a proud smile on his face. He and Sam set up the mixer right over the entrance.
“You ripped off a cement truck?” Jo was astonished.
“We’ll give it back.” I grinned as the cement began to pour.
Dean threw an arm over my shoulders and sighed. “Well, that oughta keep him down there til hell freezes over.”
                                                        ***
I shifted, uncomfortable. Jinx was sprawled over my lap and Sam’s. Her haunches were pressing on my bladder, and I felt like I was gonna pee myself. Dean was in the driver’s seat, and Ellen was next to him, in the passenger seat. Jo was to my left, behind Dean, and Sam was on my other side, behind Ellen. She was staring straight ahead, jaw set. Dean kept glancing her way, looking horrified.
“Boy, you… you really weren’t kidding about flying out, were you?” He chuckled nervously.
She said absolutely nothing, and Dean glanced at me in the rearview. I looked up at Sam, who was also uncomfortable.
“How about we listen to some music?” Dean tried, and flicked the radio on.
Before the first string of lyrics could come on, Ellen turned it back off. Sam and I looked at each other again, and Dean did the same, begging for help. I shrugged, and he sighed.
“This is gonna be a long drive.”
                                                       ***
Ellen had Jo by the shoulder, and the three of us scrambled to follow.
“Ellen? This is my fault. Okay? I lied to you, and I’m sorry. But Jo did good out there, I think her dad would be really proud.”
Ellen turned around with a snarl, and the three of us skidded to a stop.
“Don’t you dare say that. Not you. I need a moment with my daughter. Alone.” She snapped.
I gulped as Sam and Dean exchanged a look over my head. Sam pulled me along as they trailed out of the Roadhouse. We leaned against the car and said nothing. We couldn’t hear them fighting, but we knew it was going to be bad. There was a strangled cry, and the four of us, including Jinx, perked up. Jo stormed out of the Roadhouse, shot Dean a glare, and kept walking.
“That bad, huh?”
“Not right now.” Jo snapped.
“What happened?” Dean tried. “Hey, talk to me.” He reached for her arm.
“Get off me!”
He backed up. “Sorry. I’ll see you around.” He turned back to us with a confused look on his face.
“Dean!” Jo called. “It turns out my dad had a partner on his last hunt. Funny, he usually worked alone… this guy did too, but… I guess my dad trusted him. Mistake. Guy screwed up, got my dad killed.”
“What does this have to do-’
“It was your father, Dean.” Jo hissed.
“What?”
I felt my heart drop, and Sam gasped.
“John got my dad killed.”
Dean talked again, but I couldn’t hear it. I squirmed away from Sam and stormed into the building. I ignored him as he called after me. I slammed a hand down on the bar and leaned forward, catching Ellen’s attention.
“Look.” I started, tears already forming in my eyes, throat aching. “I am so sorry that my father cost your husband his life. I really am. John was everything I never want to be. But my brothers?”
The tears became too many, and they began to stream down my cheeks.
“My brothers are a completely different story. Those boys are nothing like John. Those boys would do anything for anybody. The second time the three of us hunted together, Sam put himself between a wendigo and three innocent people, even though he knew it would only buy them seconds. Dean ran through the tunnels…” My voice broke. “Defenseless. Just to get them out alive. If saving Jo meant putting their own lives down, they would do it. Without hesitation. So I’m really sorry about what my father did. But don’t you ever think, not even for a second, that my boys wouldn’t die to save someone else.”
Ellen blinked, staring at me. I sniffled, wiped my tears, and backed up.
“That’s all I needed you to hear.”
I stumbled out of the building. Sam and Dean were on the porch. Jo was nowhere to be seen. I fell into the boys, shaking. Neither said anything as they held me.
“Let’s go home.”

The charming Harry Belafonte
Who Is Harry Belafonte?
Harry Belafonte struggled with poverty and turbulent family life as a child. His professional career took off with the musical Carmen Jones, and soon he was burning up the charts with hits like "The Banana Boat Song (Day-O)" and "Jump in the Line." Belafonte has also championed many social and political causes, and earned such prestigious accolades as the National Medal of Arts.
Early Life
Harold George Belafonte Jr. was born on March 1, 1927, in New York City, to Caribbean immigrants. His mother worked as a dressmaker and a house cleaner, and his father served as a cook on merchant ships, before leaving the family when Belafonte was a young boy.
Belafonte also spent much of his early years in Jamaica, his mother's native country. There, he saw firsthand the oppression of blacks by the English authorities, which left a lasting impression on him.
Belafonte returned to New York City's Harlem neighborhood in 1940 to live with his mother. They struggled in poverty, and Belafonte was often cared for by others while his mother worked. "The most difficult time in my life was when I was a kid," he later told People magazine. "My mother gave me affection, but, because I was left on my own, also a lot of anguish."
Early Career
Dropping out of high school, Belafonte enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944. He returned to New York City after his discharge and was working as a janitor's assistant when he first attended a production at the American Negro Theater (AMT). Mesmerized by the performance, the young Navy vet volunteered to work for the AMT as a stagehand, eventually deciding to become an actor.
Belafonte studied drama at the Dramatic Workshop run by Erwin Piscator, where his classmates included Marlon Brando, Walter Matthau and Bea Arthur. Along with appearing in AMT productions, he caught the eye of music agent Monte Kay, who offered Belafonte the opportunity to perform at a jazz club called the Royal Roost. Backed by such talented musicians as Charlie Parker and Miles Davis, Belafonte became a popular act at the club. In 1949 he landed his first recording deal.
By the early 1950s, Belafonte had dropped popular music from his repertoire in favor of folk. He became an avid student of traditional folk songs from around the world and performed in such New York City clubs as the Village Vanguard.
Movies
During this time, Belafonte was finding success as an actor: Debuting on Broadway in 1953, he won a Tony Award the following year for his work in John Murray Anderson's Almanac, in which he performed several of his own songs. Belafonte also appeared in another well-received musical revue, 3 for Tonight, in 1955.
Around this time, Belafonte launched his film career. He played a school principal opposite Dorothy Dandridge in his first movie, Bright Road (1953). The pair reunited the following year for Otto Preminger's Carmen Jones, a film adaptation of the Broadway musical (itself an adaptation of the Georges Bizet opera Carmen), with Belafonte starring as Joe alongside the Oscar-nominated Dandridge.
Belafonte enjoyed some success through his collaborations with longtime friend Sidney Poitier, including 1972's Buck and the Preacher and 1974's Uptown Saturday Night. He also made numerous television appearances in the 1970s and 1980s, including a guest spot on The Muppet Show, on which he sang some of his most popular songs. Belafonte also worked with Marlo Thomas on the 1974 children's special Free To Be... You and Me.
Belafonte returned to the big screen in the 1990s, first playing himself in the Hollywood-insider flick The Player (1992). White Man's Burden (1995), which co-starred John Travolta, was a commercial and critical disappointment, but Belafonte fared better in Robert Altman's Kansas City (1996), playing against type as a heartless gangster. He later starred in the 1999 political drama Swing Vote, and appeared in 2006's Bobby, about the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy.
Music
The success of Carmen Jones in 1954 made Belafonte a star, and soon he became a music sensation. With RCA Victor Records, he released Calypso (1956), an album featuring his take on traditional Caribbean folk music. "The Banana Boat Song (Day-O)" proved to be a huge hit. More than just a popular tune, it also held special meaning for Belafonte: "That song is a way of life," Belafonte later told The New York Times. "It's a song about my father, my mother, my uncles, the men and women who toil in the banana fields, the cane fields of Jamaica."
Introducing America to a new genre of music, Calypso became the first full-length album to sell 1 million copies, and led to Belafonte being nicknamed the "King of Calypso." The singer also worked with other folk artists, including Bob Dylan and Odetta, with whom he recorded a version of the traditional children's song "There's a Hole in My Bucket." In 1961, Belafonte had another big hit with "Jump in the Line."
Belafonte was the first African American to win an Emmy, for Revlon Revue: Tonight with Belafonte (1959), and the first African American television producer. In 1970, he teamed up with singer Lena Horne for a one-hour TV special that showcased their talents. Belafonte continued to release albums into the 1970s, though his output slowed by the middle of the decade.
Social and Political Activism
Always outspoken, Belafonte found inspiration for his activism from such figures as singer Paul Robeson and writer and activist W.E.B. Du Bois. After meeting civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. in the 1950s, the two became good friends, and Belafonte emerged as a strong voice for the movement. He provided financial backing for the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee and participated in numerous rallies and protests. Belafonte helped organize the 1963 March on Washington, in which King delivered his famous "I Have a Dream" speech and met with the civil rights leader shortly before he was assassinated in 1968.
During the mid-1960s, Belafonte also began supporting new African artists. He first met exiled South African artist Miriam Makeba, known as “Mama Africa,” in London in 1958, and together they won a Grammy for Best Folk Recording for their 1965 album, An Evening with Belafonte/Makeba. He helped introduce her to international audiences and called attention to life under apartheid in South Africa.
In the 1980s, Belafonte led an effort to help people in Africa. He came up with the idea of recording a song with other celebrities, which would be sold to raise funds to provide famine relief in Ethiopia. Written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie, "We Are the World" featured vocals by such music greats as Ray Charles, Diana Ross and Bruce Springsteen. The song was released in 1985, raising millions of dollars and becoming an international hit.
Over the years, Belafonte has supported many other causes as well. In addition to his role as a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF, he has campaigned to end the practice of apartheid in South Africa and has spoken out against U.S. military actions in Iraq.
Belafonte has sometimes landed in hot water for his candidly expressed opinions. In 2006 he made headlines when he referred to President George W. Bush as "the greatest terrorist in the world" for launching the war in Iraq. He also insulted two prominent African American members of the Bush administration, General Colin Powell and Condoleeza Rice, referring to them as "house slaves." Despite media pressure, he steadfastly refused to apologize for his remarks. In regards to Powell and Rice, Belafonte said they were "serving those who continue to design our oppression."
Awards
Belafonte has achieved some of the highest honors possible over more than a half-century in the public eye. He was a recipient of Kennedy Center Honors in 1989, the National Medal of Arts in 1994 and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2000. Additionally, in 2014 he received the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the Governors Awards.
Personal Life
Belafonte lives in New York City with his third wife, photographer Pamela Frank. The couple wed in 2008. Belafonte had two children with second wife, dancer Julie Robinson, as well as two other children from his first marriage, to Marguerite Byrd. (source)

Text post that you don’t have to read
Thank you all so much for the birthday love! I’ve only just recently started trying to be more active on here and it means so much to see so much kindness from the Sims community after the Bad Times. So I was inspired to post this little essay I wrote years ago. Don’t have to read it if you don’t want. Will put a readmore, which I think maybe readmores work on mobile now too?
Nothing matters. Not really. The stars and the planets and the galaxies turn and turn and turn, and our planet is a tiny little thing, a small drop of water in the great waterfall, and we are born and we fight and suffer and bleed and die and the universe keeps turning. The water keeps falling.
There is nothing but love.
We come up with all sorts of forms into which we project ourselves, gods and theories and systems and stories, and none of them are real but we need them because we cannot comprehend the vast emptiness, the great turning wheel of All That Is. So we people it, we give it personalities and faces and names, and we fashion delusions to get us by, so we can get on with the business of eating and drinking and making copies of ourselves and feeling like we have some importance, some point to our existence. And sometimes those delusions lead us to fight and to hate and to kill and to cause great suffering, but the universe keeps turning.
If you wipe away all the delusions, all the fevered imaginings of humans trying to explain the vast nothingness to themselves, all the ego and the self-righteousness and the ignorance, what you will find when you look that great abyss straight in the eye is…
Love.
A love that does not need anything other than itself. It does not need a form and a name and a face. It does not need reasons to be moral, to be good. It does not need a system of morality, a set of shoulds and shoulds not. It does not judge or want or need or hurt.
It is there, and it is itself, and it flows over everyone and everything. It touches them all, the preacher and the terrorist and the crooked politician and the soldier and the drug dealer and the banker and the car salesman and the janitor and the murderer and the saint and the starving child, and before it they are all equal, all worthy of being touched.
It knows that humans are stumbling in the dark, that they do not know what they do, that they are children cowering before the great unknowingness, too scared to stand before the vast turning dark and to see their utter insignificance and their infinite worth, that they are too scared and alone to come out of the shadows and to look upon the bright and shining stars. It knows that its light is too painful for their dark-accustomed eyes to bear. And it loves them. It loves them.
The universe turns and turns, and we do not matter. But we get to be here, to be part of the great turning, for a few minutes. And if you are willing to leave the comfort of the shadows and to stare unblinking into the abyss, to see that you are a speck of dust in an infinite universe and that you are the universe, that you are not terribly special but you are everyone and everything, that there are no walls and no barriers and no differences and you are the preacher and you are the terrorist and you are the crooked politician and you are the soldier and you are the drug dealer and you are the banker and you are the car salesman and you are the janitor and you are the murderer and you are the saint and you are the starving child…
Then the dark falls aways from your eyes and you see the light and the love touching everyone, and it is in you and it is you, and there is no more striving, no more ego, no more fear, no more hate, and no more forms and no more fantasies and no more systems. There is only love, and everything else is obliterated by its light, and you cannot hate and fear and kill and harm anymore, because you know now that you are doing it to yourself.
You are doing it to yourself.
