hi ridi! i was curious if you’ve ever thought about writing a sequel to of witness testimony? i know youve written a post prank fic before but i feel like the dynamic and plot of owt was so unique! im curious how you think the post prank portrayal would be different in a world like of witness testimony where there is (somewhat) unrequited love. i feel like we’d see an even more pathetic side of sirius than usual after the prank…

hello my love!! sorry for my late reply...i think someone asked me a similar question in the last few months so i spent days trying to find that ask and have finally resolved myself to the fact that i either cant or i hallucinated it. however!! i dont know if id ever write a full-fledged sequel...technical writing issues aside i do actually still quite like owt as a fic!! i think as a contained piece im quite happy with it and i just found it really fun...i have even thought before about perhaps rewriting it because i think i could do that concept a lot better now but i dont know if ill ever really do that. but writing r/s from a third party perspective was really interesting and something i would like to do again!! so idk : ^ )

i definitely think that owt s post prank would be far more pathetic...well it just went really badly for him didnt it. it went so badly. it really was quite a mess. i think r would not be able to escape the nagging fear that s did it to punish him for how badly the confession went and i think s trying to double down on expressing his feelings after doing that would go so poorly but what else can he do really!! i think perhaps the only way theyre getting through it is a long period of iciness and then becoming friends again through a tacit agreement never to acknowledge the events that preceded the prank and then eventually the dam will burst and theyll have to confront it again. certainly i think everything would move a lot slower...a very rough year ahead of s i fear..

I have no idea what's going on here. Evan, Tani and Ferdinand have somehow ended up in Ichi no Kuni and they and Will have gatecrashed President Roland's office. Roland has been forced out of Tired President Mode into Tired Dad Mode and everything is chaos.

Been working and building up the characters a bit in my personal time to work through how I want this AU to go.

Now, I’m not the best at story telling with my words so I’m going to try my best with bullet points! Yippee!

Billy’s home dimension, Euclidia, was not destroyed

Despite his wish to be able to explore the stars and all they had to offer, it came with the price of never being able to return to Euclidia

Billy made a constellation of his parents in hopes they would be able to see the stars one day and find that their baby never forgot them

Billy was knocked down from the sky by a passing comet he had failed to notice

When Billy fell from the sky down to Gravity Falls, Stanford was the first and only person he met

Stanford was very nice (at first) and was helping Billy find a way to return to Euclidia

Stanford quickly changed after figuring out that Billy could create matter that seemed to be alive

After years of being alone, Billy had thought that Stanford was a true friend and was really trying to help him

Billy would do anything for Stanford if he so asked until it got to the point that Billy had gotten too weak and Stanford was getting scary, wanting more and more of the abilities that he possessed

Billy is currently on the run, having managed to get away from Stanford by sheer luck and the very minimal amount of power he still retained

He only ended up in the dimension of canon because of a worm hole that he had fled into after Stanford found him again

Billy is now very nervous around any Ford

Billy has no idea who Stanley or the rest of the Pines family is

He is now stuck in this human form as both a disguise and lack of power

Billy just wants to go home at this rate and doesn’t care if he has to give up the stars to do so

and whom does carmy ask in return what she’s thinking as well? hint it’s not claire.

I think the most tragic thing is that this scene cements more than any other the simplicity of claire being a soundboard for carmy’s feelings and not much else. the time that’s not spent getting to know her but still being told we need to care about her feels so abrupt because that’s the exact place she holds in his life. someone he’s told to love but can’t list three good reasons why. she says things like “no one’s tracking shoes” and “never ever apologize” and that’s enough because on paper that’s the exact thing carmy wants to hear.

but with sydney the narrative draws focus to both their worries and thought processes. it matters to him what’s going on with her just as much as being asked that question, unlike claire. plus the honesty that’s missing from the first scene syd is right there to provide. of course adapting and knowing what the next move is important for the restaurant because they have no choice. exactly what he *needs* to hear. and yeah it’s because they’re both equally worried about the fire suppression test, and obviously, sydney is a main character but it wouldn’t have killed carmy to ask claire what shit she’s got going on lol. homie isn’t that your gf?

these two ask this man the same question but get two entirely different carmys in response and it’s like night and day,,, incredible. and no it’s not “work carmy” and “relationship carmy” it’s “robot carmy” and “actual human carmy” it’s the difference it’s the juxtaposition it’s the poetic storytelling it’s-
