I Kick and I Fly by Ruchira Gupta
A propulsive social justice adventure by renowned activist and award-winning documentarian Ruchira Gupta, I Kick and I Fly is an inspiring, hopeful story of triumph about a girl in Bihar, India, who escapes being sold into the sex trade when a local hostel owner helps her to understand the value of her body through kung fu.
On the outskirts of the Red Light District in Bihar, India, fourteen-year-old Heera is living on borrowed time until her father sells her into the sex trade to help feed their family and repay his loans. It is, as she's been told, the fate of the women in her community to end up here. But watching her cousin, Mira Di, live this life day in and day out is hard enough. To live it feels like the worst fate imaginable. And after a run-in with a bully leads to her expulsion from school, it feels closer than ever.
But when a local hostel owner shows up at Heera's home with the money to repay her family's debt, Heera begins to learn that fate can change. Destiny can be disrupted. Heroics can be contagious.
It's at the local hostel for at risk girls that Heera is given a transformative opportunity: learning kung fu with the other girls. Through the practice of martial arts, she starts to understand that her body isn't a an object to be commodified and preyed upon, but a vessel through which she can protect herself and those around her. And when Heera discovers the whereabouts of her missing friend, Rosy, through a kung fu pen pal in the US, she makes the decision to embark on a daring rescue mission to New York in an attempt to save her.
A triumphant, shocking account inspired by Ruchira Gupta's experience making the Emmy-award winning documentary, The Selling of Innocents, this is an unforgettable story of overcoming adversity by a life-long activist who has dedicated her life to creating a world where no child is bought or sold.

But when her father announces his engagement to socialite Naz, Mehar reluctantly agrees to return for the wedding. Maybe she and her father can finally heal their broken relationship. Once she arrives in India, Mehar meets Sufiya, her grandmother's assistant. Though they come from totally different worlds, their friendship slowly starts to blossom into something more . . . Mehar thinks.
Meanwhile, Mehar's dislike for Naz and her social media influencer daughter, Aleena, deepens. She can tell the two of them are just using her father for his money. Mehar's starting to think that putting a stop to this wedding might be the best thing for everyone involved.
But what happens when telling her father the truth about Naz and Aleena means putting her relationship with Sufiya at risk?
Mehar knows what she wants. Making it happen is a whole other story.

The Great Destroyers by Caroline Tung Richmond
Blood, sweat, and death.
Welcome to the Pax Games.
Jo Linden was born into a world where wars are won with giant mechanical soldiers and the nuclear bomb was never invented. Yet the Cold War still rages, and international rivalries between democracy and communism are now fought at the Pax Games, an Olympic-style competition that pits young pilots of mechas against each other. The USSR has beaten the US in nearly every game since its inception, and in the 1963 Games, the US is desperate for a win. Because it's more than just the Games at stake. Premier Khrushchev will be attending, and after, he and President Kennedy are slated to sign a peace accord stabilizing the war in Vietnam-and their volatile relationship.
Raised in her father's mecha repair shop, Jo knows more than anyone about piloting. She's also the most unlikely pick for Team USA since she's a virtually unknown fighter. So when she's invited at the last minute to compete, she jumps at it. This could be the only chance to save her family's home from debt collectors. All eyes are on Jo from the moment she arrives. But as fighters start dying in the arena, it's suddenly clear that it's more than the usual Pax Games, and Jo finds herself drawn into a deadly political plot. And if she can't figure out the truth, it might mean the annihilation of everything.
In a global arms race between superpowers, playing out in violent games that only humanity could create, comes a chilling story of clashing titans, ruthless competition, freedom, and the girl caught in the middle of it all.

K-pop Confidential by Stephan Lee
A Korean-American girl finds her voice and has to navigate the complex world of K-pop stardom in this contemporary rom-com about following your heart and staying true to yourself in the process, for fans of Mary H. K. Choi and Maurene Goo.
Candace Park's life is all planned out. She takes all AP classes, helps her parents at their dry cleaner, and spends what little free time she has watching Rupaul's Drag Race. Then there's graduation, college, and a "Real Job." What her parents and friends don't really know, though, is that she has a secret passion: singing. But what's the point? She's never seen an Asian-American girl make it big as a singer-songwriter anyway.
So when Candace enters a K-pop audition at the mall on a dare, she doesn't expect to actually win. She definitely doesn't expect to plunge headfirst into the grueling world of a K-pop trainee. Especially when her parents don't approve of it...at all.
But when they offer her the chance to travel to Seoul, South Korea to train at the top Korean music company in the world, how can she pass it up? The only problem is, in addition to the round-the-clock singing lessons, dance rehearsals, and beauty treatments, Candace has to agree to follow the uber-strict rules of a trainee. The most important of which is: NO DATING. But it becomes pretty much impossible to follow when Candace finds herself in the middle of a love triangle between a sweet boy trainee and a superstar member of the hottest boy band in the world.
Will all of her hard work be wasted if she follows her heart? Or can she be the perfect, hair-flipping idol and stay true to herself at the same time?

"Oh thanks," she grinned. "I named him after Bad Bunny," she admitted. The old spirit wasn't up to date with some things but she tried to keep up to date with pop culture. Or at least music, always needing something to dance to when she was filled with energy.
Naz followed them back through the shop, stopping here and there, absently distracted by the art on the walls. "I know the world has changed but unfortunately in the court of law, people pass judgements quickly, so I'm afraid it will need to be discreet." It did leave a lot of options open though. "Oh yes, it's right here," she said. Pulling the sleeve of her t-shirt up, she showed the artist the scrawled rabbit that was drawn on her inner bicep.
The spirit hadn't given much thought about it considering they had only wandered in on a whim but she new what she liked and what she didn't. "I think it all depends on sizing. Anything too bit would need to be somewhere else. Like a thigh, I suppose?" she suggested, trying to measure what kind of art piece would fit there. "I think I may have to remain tattoo free from the here up," she said, indicating from her neck upwards.
Max smiled when Naz mentioned her own pet. People who had pets always sat easier with them, especially with the way she talked about Benito. "That is a fantastic name, Benito."
Pulling the book off the counter and grabbing a pencil and sticking it behind their ear. "Ah gotcha so placement is going to be important. Good to know. What's your first tattoo if you don't mind me asking?" She gestures for Naz to follow picking one of the studio's little tattooing stations and plopping down in her rollie chair.
There were lots of fun ways to do small but important tattoos. Max had a few stars that she had done behind her ear that had a tendency to move to her hand when they got anxious to give them something to trace. "I'm a sucker for these little ones behind my ears. They make for great accessories and I don't have to worry about stabbing myself with earring backs which is nice."

so some fun and odd facts and details about some of the crew, starting with naz. She’s very flexible to contortionist levels, enjoys yoga, and often has muscle tone like this.
On top of her ink work we have rocking an dark skin tan ala Japanese gyaru and were especially inspired by famous gravure model and cosplayer nonsummerjack and most recently taken to having have one hell of an ass like av star bella bellz and jay marvel’s artwork, though nahla monroe is especially her ideal model of thiccness, curves and tone
senia is my buddy's girl, and we've been due an overdue visual update for her
in terms of her details,we've her rock black hair, violet as seen here, and snow white and a few body shape basis like jade cargill.chino's main basis in life and manga are martyn ford and scar from fma with gaoh from eyeshield 21,doc has a singing voice on par with david draiman from disturbed.doc also has blood red eyes and black sclera like in the image below, giving hima scary look overall which contrasts with his personality. he's also got a bit of orange cassidy in him. and slate greyish skin colour akin to The castlevania vampires like godbrand, hades and teen Titans raven. If I hadn’t said before his appearance gives off a vampire vibe in contrast to his laidback self.ut esp key details,he lacks a nose ala krillin and the human char design in oban star racers. sharp shark teeth ala kirishima and tetsutetsu, vampire stylecanines and his most notable face shape and design is epic osmosis jones villain, thrax.bodyshape build too as well as yasuhiro's nightow's char design style.wide broad shoulders, imposing height, not skinny beanpole but not too built to come off like a meat tank.imposing, intimidating but a charmer overall, also rocks a nice pair of raybans shades like shades from luke cage.and of course, tattoos on his arms, back, front and face and neck, especially the back and sides of his head thanks to his hairstye and the front of his face. think of him like a goth version to the late rick "zombie boy" genest and el diablo from dc comics' suicide squad. https://twitter.com/IgnitionCrisis/status/1386073886400278529 Besides thrax another char gage design wise for doc is copperhead from the dc animated movie suicide squad hell to pay. Chino’s own face design for a muscle mountain I envision is lu bu from record of ragnarok and scar from full metal alchemist
chino of course is part samoan and mongolian and often varies between 7 to 10 feet tall.like das Uber boy born with defined musculature so small wonder he’s a muscle mountain behemoth.outfits for chino consist of baggy urban wear, given his massive frame and all,so in the case of the images, xzibit, busta rhymes, ice t and sticky fingaz, and what bully ray is rocking here of course.really lot of pro wrestler wear is an influence on this gang of misfits
A reference sheet for any requesters and commissioners in order to better convey details. Doc and Dib/DG=1st image between male c & d body shape and build Chino=image 1 between male e and f Naz,Nikia,senia=Image 1, female c & d,e & f and d & e.
devart links for more refs and when it comes to senia, her hairstyle can be violet, snow white or black with the former 2,gogo is her bodybuild & skin colour https://www.deviantart.com/vanheist/art/Gone-Fishin-808762367 https://www.deviantart.com/vanheist/art/Patreon-art-A-Dressing-Concern-684106312 https://www.deviantart.com/vanheist/art/Struttin-680204771 https://www.deviantart.com/vanheist/art/The-Rydering-437281419 real23's dark skinned of course is an ideal nikia body shape basis
this was senia back befire she went from wallflower to bombshell she is today. backgroundwise, she's eurasian, naz is canadian, doc's latin-american with some asian ancestry, chino as said before is samoan-mongolian,nikia's south american, brazilian to be precise, doc and dib/dg are mexican/latin american.chino-between 8 to 10 feet tall naz-5'5'' senia-6'6'' nikia-7 foot even doc-6 foot even
or another clear idea of Senia's build, look to this fine piece of woman from the manga batuque. and mai takeru from the soccer manga Mai Ball! swole, firm yet sensual to behold, basicaly if you like or love a woman who can kick your ass if she so wanted? look no further.as well as the build of course, feel free to colour senia's hair violet/purple,snow white, black or any combination esp if rocking skunkstripe like streaks. oh fun trivia fact, she's got a singing voice like kerry slays from unleash the archers
speaking of body shapes and builds, another good example of a chino class build would have to be image comics' powerhouse alien hybrid, the Pitt.the noseless face detail is as said before also something key in doc's design
So another thing to add to this thread is what me and my buddy DarkGraven do with with our little crew of characters, who we have as this misfit group of friends,a six pack ensemble with our own personal take on Dib from Invader Zim as inspired by darnact/bigdad our version is often referred to with the last name Mendez and often him and Doc are,in a bond sense, sort of a play on that old phrase brothers from different mothers. esp given having similar heights, builds but majorly different personalities and what not, speaking of which our take on Dib around highschool to young adult age is a far cry from the spazzy hyper conspiracy nut of IZ. Basically he's a very deadpan, snarky sort of fellow,a real razor sharp wit who will verbally lash you as he has little to no patience or tolerance for fools.Basically think gilfoyle from the comedy series silicon valley mixed with a bit of jimathers 4Y records clerk and the good ol' boys from canadian comedy Letterkenny as well as Duckman,Daria and Jay Sherman of the critic fame
youtube
Yeah wonder if maybe dealing with zim and his zimness one time too many is the cause?Yes &he's had to endure the misery of putting up with the infamous O'Doyle clan of adam sandler movies infamy, the family motto "O'Doyle rules!! is enough to make him do the excalibur face.when he's not being a verbal wmd of course, loopy from jellystone is also a notable influenceXD Dib:I don't move my body for sport, only for pleasure but gilfoyle is the key influence, hell we call him DG Mendez(Dib gilfoyle Mendez)
youtube
youtube
he’s a very deadpan snarky fellow who knows he’s the smartest person in the room because most everyone else around him bar exceptions are idiots and will cut you down like so no mercy
The Sixpack Crew
So for years since we met and former our online bro bond and friendship,me and my buddy https://www.deviantart.com/top-gun5391 aka Dark Graven have made a daily routine on a regular basis some roleplays involving our OC group of friends we call the Crew,or the Sixpack as I’ve taken to calling them on twitter. There is our co creation, the gothpunk redhead Naz,the trio of the gothic skullface Doc Marciano, the behemoth manmountain Chino and the statuesque hyperactive manic amazon Nikia, his ever evolving redux oc bombshell Senia and our own take Dib from Invader Zim,based off of @bigdead93’s fanart and the deadpan snarky programmer from comedy Silicon Valley Gilfoyle,Dib/DG Mendez (the G stands for Gilfoyle obviously). The past year or so I’ve been aiming to get requests or commissions that nail their visual designs and especially get at least one pic from longtime favourites like @aeolus06
https://twitter.com/Sketchfan85/status/1391737351987212294
https://twitter.com/Sketchfan85/status/1394615867070193664

https://twitter.com/Sketchfan85/status/1634323350607593473
I’d made this twitter thread for reference and info details of course but figure no harm in making a similar post here on tumblr. The following imagery includes and consists of my own hand drawn references (try to guess which),and the likes of requests and commissions by talents like darkereve, rexreyes, @robocream @eldersfloatingtemple @big-break @ruhisuart @bluntkatana and many more to follow or come.
basic details are as followsinterms of height chino-between 8 to 10 feet tall naz-5′4’’ senia-6'6’’ nikia-6′10′’ to 7 foot even doc and dib/dg-6 foot even. chino is samoan-mongolian,naz is canadian-american,nikia is south american(brazilian to be precise),dib is mexican-american,doc is latino mixed japanese american, senia is eurasian.senia is a lesbian, chino and naz are bisexual, nikia’s bi bordering on poly/pansexual,dib/dg and doc are hetero. details vary when it comes to background and backstories depending on roleplay settings but regular recurring details range from being jagua del toro citizens to facts like dib/dg having two moms, mainly him and gaz being adopted and raised by chalo’s mora and alejandra.any other details or questions feel free to ask.

#CHAOUNTESS. [ chaos / countess ] INDEPENDENT, HIGHLY SELECTIVE AND PRIVATE WRITING BLOG FOR THE CRIMSON COUNTESS OF THE BOYS. AS LOVINGLY CRAFTED BY NAZ.
fc: franciska farkas + comic icons.
the crimson countess is a fictional character in the boys and a parody character marvels sc*rlet w*tch. lacking lore of her, i draw a lot from w*nda maxim*ff’s comic runs [especially sc*rlet w*tch (2016)] and from in my own sense, parodying “wendy maymoff & wendysiri”. i’m making this clear now but i am not roma, i have no idea about the experience and what it is like to be roma but i’m constantly doing research & learning and i highly would appreciate any/all critque on my writing. i am however, jewish and draw from my own experience as a jewish woman and my familial history.
as such, as the boys is a parody/satire series at heart, i heavily intend to parody the poorly done representation of w*nda maxim*ff in wendysiri and write something closer to the original wanda, as wendysiri is basically a parody of wanda at this point.
if you support marvels portrayal of wanda as a white christian woman, don’t follow me. i have no intertest in messing with people who support wanda & pietro being white.
as i said, there is very little lore on cc & most of this is my own with assistance from the lovely vlad. i’m also fully exclusive with vlad’s solider boy [@/soldiurboy] and i will not be interacting/writing with any others.
during ww2, having gone rough from vought, dayana joins forces with the allies, serving under the dutch resistance and eventually forming alongside of soldier boy / jack kennedy to form the dual team known as payback. after vought switches sides, payback becomes a fully functioning team lead under jack & dayana. dayana is adopted as an american propaganda figure by the media as the crimson countess while she fights in ww2.
post-1945, she is known only as delilah petrov, having adjusted her name upon becoming a post-ww2 american propoganda figure. her birth name is dayana petrova which isn’t widely publicly known but she would not be denying her own name if asked. she spends several years moonlight alongside jack as they stay as the payback duo before eventually working as an art restorator for several years. holding blackmail on vought, she has fake papers that allow her to operate for several decades as a citizen.
season 3: as a favor to stan edgar, she returns to vought to begin pr work; helping scrape up the damaged reputation of the company.
dayana is a lesbian (because el*sabeth ols*n would hate it so i’m doing it) so please don’t approach me about shipping unless your character would fit into her sexuality. as cc, she is publicly out as a lesbian and has been for a very long time.

Alone, Together | Chapter 32 | Morgan Rielly
“Get your hand off my butt, baby. We’re in public.”
“I can’t. It’s glued there.”
Bee couldn’t help but snort as she felt Morgan’s hand pat her ass. She looked up at him trying to contain her smile, watching him as he was watching the commotion around them. Friends and family of Zach and Alannah were filing into the foyer of the Art Gallery of Ontario, excitedly looking around at all the decorations around them. They were waiting off to the side for some more teammates to arrive – Fred, Tyler, and William were due to arrive any second according to their texts to Morgan, all solo bachelors for the night, along with John and Aryne (who had flown in just that morning from Sydney and Matt Martin’s wedding in the Hamptons the day before), Nazem and Ashley, Jake and Lucy, Mitch and Steph, Connor and Madison, and Kasperi and Cassie. Some former teammates had even flown in for the wedding, like James van Riemsdyk and his fiancée Lauren, and the new Stanley Cup winner Tyler Bozak and his wife Molly. Bee knew it was going to be a great party.
“What are you gonna do when we have to sit for the ceremony? Am I gonna sit on your hand?” she asked.
“Probably.”
She couldn’t help but snort. “You’re unbelievable.”
Morgan finally looked down at her with a smirk on his face. “What am I supposed to do when you’re wearing that,” he said, motioning down to her dress. “Plus I know what you’re wearing under it.”
“Behave yourself,” she warned. “We’re at a wedding.”
“Can’t make any promises.”
This was Bee’s first ever wedding. It wasn’t like she was ever invited to them as a kid (and it wasn’t like she and her mother could go even if they were), and considering her age, nobody in her friend group had gotten married yet. When she and Morgan got the invitation, she stared at it for like, five minutes, taking in the gold foil detailing, the heavy cardstock, and all the other bits included, like a parking pass and a map to the Art Gallery of Ontario. It was so luxurious and well designed. The whole wedding was going to be so luxurious if the invitation was anything to go by. When she let Morgan know it would be her first wedding, he told her what to expect, what they day and night would entail, and how there would probably be a lot of alcohol and the hockey boys going a bit crazy. Bee knew she’d have to get a new dress and probably get her hair done, so she made sure to go shopping with Ashley, who helped her pick out her dress, and had gone to a hair appointment earlier in the day so she could get a messy bun done. She was excited, to say the least, and had been eagerly jittery about it for at least a week.
“He’s touching the buuuuutttt,” a high-pitched voice mimicked the octopus from Finding Nemo. Morgan and Bee both whipped their heads to see Tyler leading Fred and William towards where they were standing. Morgan made no attempt to take his hand off her ass as his teammates approached, though when Bee leaned in to hug them, he was forced to let go.
“You guys are looking quite dapper,” Bee smiled as she gave big hugs to Willy and Fred. They said their thanks and complimented her on her dress before she turned to Tyler. “You look like a vacuum salesman.”
The boys cackled as Tyler’s jaw dropped. “This is a new suit!” he cried out.
“It is?”
“Bespoke! From Mo’s guy!” he pointed towards Morgan.
“Really?”
“Garrison Bespoke!” he stressed. “He took my measurements and everything!”
Bee couldn’t help but laugh. “Oh you know I’m kidding, Tyler,” she smacked his arm playfully. “The suit looks great.”
“Thank God. This is the most expensive piece of clothing I own.”
“Your hair on the other hand…” she began, a devilish grin on her face.
“Don’t you dare speak about my hair.”
Before the teasing could go any further, the group was ushered to a row of seats about halfway from the front. Morgan sat on the aisle seat, Bee next to him as he held her hand in his lap. Tyler sat beside her, with Fred and Willy next to him. Eventually, Kasperi and Cassie snuck in to finish off the row, and John and Aryne settled in right behind Morgan and Bee, along with Jake and Lucy, and Nazem and Ashley. Music was playing from a set of speakers high above them (Bee imagined the DJ had set them up – no way would an art gallery be blasting music in those speakers) as the traditional ceremony began. Bee smiled when she saw Zach walk down the aisle to the chuppah with his parents. Zach looked so dapper in his suit, and he looked nervous as he joked around with his groomsmen. When Alannah began to walk down the aisle, Bee couldn’t help but become emotional at the sight of her. She looked so beautiful in her dress, her long blonde hair in perfectly done waves and her veil extending behind her like a princess. Bee shed a tear as Alannah finally met Zach at the end of the aisle, who had already wiped away a few tears himself.
Morgan continued to hold her hand lightly in his lap throughout the ceremony. His fingers were loose around hers, and his thumb grazed the back of her hand tenderly throughout the whole ceremony. She could feel him looking at her at certain points, and when she’d turn her head to look at him, she’d see him gazing at her, his eyes glossed over with an emotion Bee couldn’t quite discern.
The moment came when Zach had to break the glass. As he stomped his foot down, the glass in the napkin shattered and everybody screamed the traditional “Mazel tov!” and began a round of applause. The music started back up again as they walked back town the aisle hand in hand. Bee looked up at Morgan once Zach and Alannah reached the end, their wedding party following behind them.
“Now it’s time to party,” he winked at her.
***
Cocktail hour was exciting and full of food. They had a raw oyster bar that kept getting restocked, a sushi station, passed hors d’oeuvres, and a “cheese” cake – literally wheels of cheese imported from Italy stacked on top of one another. Bee couldn’t get enough, especially of the cheese cake, and Morgan ate so many oysters she thought he wouldn’t be able to eat dinner (Morgan always had room for dinner). He also had room for drinks – lots of drinks, because fuck, a teammate was getting married and they needed to celebrate every fifteen minutes with a toast to Zach, a toast to Zach’s dad, a toast to the chuppah. Bee milked her gin and tonic for most of cocktail hour, watching as the bartenders poured drink after drink for the boys. Morgan made sure to keep his hand in its place (read: on her ass) whenever he wasn’t eating or having a drink with the boys, and this time, Bee appreciated the contact a little more.
When they were ushered from Walker Court to Baillie Court for dinner, Bee picked up hers and Morgan’s place card. The giant table they were seated at saw her and Morgan sitting with Jake and Lucy, John and Aryne, Kappy and Cassie, Fred, Willy, and Tyler. The other “hockey table” beside them constituted Tyler and Molly, James and Lauren, Connor and Madison, Mitch and Steph, and Naz and Ashley. They were definitely the loudest section of the room, tucked into their own little corner relatively close to the head table.
As they began to sit down in their places, Bee was in the middle of a Fred and Morgan sandwich. Being squishes between two giant hockey players was probably the dream of a lot of girls, but Bee felt like she had T-Rex arms and wondered how she’d be able to eat her meal without elbowing her boyfriend and good friend. Morgan’s hand immediately went to her thigh. “Morgan, Fred is right here,” she warned, her voice low as she whispered in his ear.
He turned to her. “I can’t stop thinking about what’s under that dress,” he said, much, much louder than he intended. It was clear the alcohol was coursing through his veins and he either had no filter, no shame, or no concept of how loud his voice was.
Either way, Fred snorted beside her. Bee gave Fred an exasperated look as he continued to smirk and giggle. “Morgan,” she said sternly. “Keep your voice down, please.”
“Yeah Mo. If I really want to I could reach over and put my hand on your thigh, too,” Fred chirped in, doing just that, leaning over Bee’s body and squeezing Morgan’s thigh. “Never mind asking to see what’s under that suit.”
“Oh my God,” Bee grimaced before she facepalmed. The last thing she saw was Fred wiggling his eyebrows and Morgan wiggling his back at him. Apparently everybody else at the table was too busy in their own conversations to see what was going on. “Please hold off until we start dancing. I don’t think everyone else at the table will appreciate your shameless flirting while they eat.”
After Zach and Alannah’s first dance (Bee definitely cried) but before dinner began, Zach’s dad made a heartwarming speech about their families coming together. Zach and Alannah were high school sweethearts, so he spoke about how much they had grown together and how he was so happy to “finally have a daughter” in Alannah. After the first course, their best man and maid of honour also made their speeches, which were hilarious and poked fun at the couple, all while celebrating their friendship and love. Lastly, after the main course, Zach and Alannah gave their own speech to both laughs and tears from the guests in attendance. Throughout the speeches, Morgan rested his arm on the back of Bee’s chair and she leaned back into his chest. She could feel him rest his cheek on the side of her head and couldn’t help but smile at him being so unapologetically affectionate. She didn’t know if it was just him, or the alcohol, or a mix of both. In a room surrounded by love for Zach and Alannah, she felt fortunate to know Morgan still couldn’t help but show his love for her, too.
Then, the party started.
The DJ opened the dancing with some Rihanna, and everybody crowded the dance floor quickly. Bee, Aryne, and Lucy began moving their hips along to the music, the boys dancing awkwardly as they always did – probably because the food had softened their buzz and they didn’t feel the rhythm as much. Song after song, the DJ kept the dance floor full. Eventually, the boys were pulled away from some drinks and shots at the bar, and the girls met up with the others, taking group photos and posing with their hands rubbing Aryne’s bump.
When the DJ began to play a slower-tempo song, Morgan returned to the dance floor, grabbing Bee’s hands and twirling her into his body as they moved to the beat of the music. With his one hand on her lower back and his other holding hers against his chest, he looked down at her and gave her a quick peck on the lips. “I lllllove you, you know that?”
Bee couldn’t help at his slight slur of his words. She wondered how many shots he downed at the bar while she was dancing. “I do. And I love you too.”
He bent down slightly so he could whisper in her ear, although, with the alcohol running through him, she knew his whispering would probably end up be screaming, just like it was at the dinner table. “I know I’m not supposed to say this but you’re the prettiest girl in the room. Even with Alannah in her wedding dress.”
Bee couldn’t help but give him a look – somewhat appreciative, somewhat disapproving. She knew now that it was the alcohol talking. “Stop.”
“I’m being serious. This dress is doing things to me,” he said, his hand wandering further down her back.
“Eeeeeeeasy cowboy,” she giggled, grabbing his hand and bringing it back up to its previous position at the small of her back. “There are family members around. Don’t want them getting a bad impression.”
“Imagine if they knew how loud you scream my name.”
A shiver ran up Bee’s spine at Morgan’s words. “Morgan.”
“Imagine how loud it’ll be tonight,” he continued, whispering into her ear. “Imagine how loud you’ll be after I peel that dress off of you and call you my good girl.”
“Morgan, stop,” she stressed, looking beyond Morgan to see Lucy pouting her lip at them, mouthing the words ‘So cute!’. If she only knew what he was saying instead of the sweet nothings she probably thought he was saying. There were a lot of people on the dance floor, too, and God help her if one of them had supersonic hearing.
“Is it pink?”
“Is what pink?”
“Whatever’s under this dress.”
Bee couldn’t help but roll her eyes. “You’re just gonna have to wait and see,” she said coyly. “Besides, by the rate you’re drinking now, you might not last long enough to see me in it.”
That got Morgan’s attention. He looked at her wide-eyed, shaking his head. “No. No. No,” he said quickly, garnering a giggle from Bee. “I am not – no – I am not passing out before I see what’s under there.”
“Good choice, Morgan,” she winked at him.
A grin still managed to make its way across his face. They continued to slow dance together. Bee noticed Aryne resting her head on John’s shoulder as they danced together. She even saw Kappy and Willy dancing together, holding each other in their arms as Cassie filmed it. They were already hammered. Cassie would have her hands full tonight. “I still meant what I said before. You’re the prettiest girl in this room,” Morgan said again, smiling down at her. “You’re the prettiest girl in every room.”
“You flatter me too much.”
“Cause you deserve it.”
Bee couldn’t help but smile, leaning her head in the crook of his neck. “And you’re the best boyfriend in the world,” she whispered, relaxing in his arms.
Eventually, everybody came back out onto the dance floor. Connor Brown had a tray full of shots for everyone and Fred carried other drinks for them, including a gin and tonic for Bee, and they all began to dance some more. She felt slightly buzzed as she danced along with everyone, laughing and giggling and incorporating some truly heinous dance moves. When the DJ played Lizzo – a four song set of “Boys”, “Good as Hell”, “Juice”, and “Truth Hurts”, everybody went crazy. The girls were singing along at the top of their lungs, dancing and acting out the lyrics as much as possible. The boys, to their credit, were graciously playing along, dancing and moving their hips, pointing to their bowties during “Boys” and pretending to check the girls’ nails and flip their non-existent hair during “Good as Hell”. Tyler – a surprisingly excellent dancer – ended up dancing with Bee and swinging her back and forth along to the beat of “Juice”, indulging her by pretending to grind up against her when the lyrics “The juice ain’t worth the squeeze if the juice don’t look like this”. Everyone around them whooped and hollered as Morgan danced towards her too, backing his ass up towards her body on the other side, putting her in a hockey-player-grinding-sandwich. Bee was laughing so much she couldn’t dance anymore, covering her face until Alannah pulled her out and subbed Zach into the sandwich so she could dance with her.
When the DJ played an entire 90s-Eurodance set, the European boys went nuts. Kasperi and Willy went crazy with their dancing and jumping around, and Fred – oh my God, Fred – he was doing it along with them, his big body jumping and grooving along to the music that he apparently loved so much. Perhaps he had fond memories of it growing up. In any case, everybody eventually joined in with them, Cassie filming the whole thing on her phone.
When the DJ announced the late night food stations, the girls still didn’t leave the dance floor since the music was so good. Instead, the men left and came back soon after with the goodies – poutine, Angus beef sliders, grilled cheese sandwiches, and fried chicken. When the boys brought the piles of food back, the girls screamed in excitement.
“I brought you poutine,” Fred smiled drunkenly as he showed her the steaming bowl of fries, gravy, and cheese curds. Aryne was already digging into a grilled cheese sandwich and Cassie was filming herself eating a fry dangling from Kasperi’s mouth. “I already ate some. Sorry.”
“You brought me poutine?!” Bee was ready to cry at his words. Fred nodded his head, a giant smile on his face as he set the bowl down on the table. Bee wrapped her arms around his big shoulders and pressed a kiss onto his cheek. “Freddie, you are the absolute best person on the planet.”
“Hey, what am I, chopped liver?” Morgan demanded playfully, holding a plate of fried chicken. “I brought you fried chicken!”
“Well I’m eating the poutine first,” she stuck out her tongue at him, grabbing a fork and digging into the poutine.
Another shot at the bar with Zach, Alannah, and all the hockey guests happened after everybody finished eating, followed by another gin and tonic for Bee. Group pictures – so many group pictures – were posed for (and no doubt uploaded to Instagram). More dancing with Fred and Tyler, more slow dancing with Morgan. By the end of the night, everybody watched from the sidelines as Zach and Alannah danced to their last dance together.
Morgan and Bee stood off to the side, Bee’s back to his chest as he had his arms wrapped around her waist. Bee could feel Morgan’s chin resting on top of her head, and slowly but surely, he moved down so he could rest it against her shoulder. When she shifted her eyes to look at him, she saw a simple, loving smile on his face.
His eyes were looking at Zach and Alannah, but his mind was elsewhere.
***
Morgan and Bee were giggly as they stumbled into his apartment, kissing whenever they could, grabbing wherever they could. Bee worked on untying Morgan’s tie while his hands were busy groping her ass through he dress. He kicked off his shoes and she hers, and he helped her unzip her dress to reveal her pink underwear and bra. He drunkenly grabbed handfuls of her ass before they fell onto the bed together, dragging each other further onto the bed as Morgan’s large body loomed over hers. She worked at the buttons of his shirt before pushing the material off, then worked at his belt as he kissed her all over – wet, sloppy kisses; butterfly kisses; nipping kisses that left soft bite marks on her skin; long kisses that were sure to leave hickeys.
The way he was kissing her felt different tonight. It wasn’t that he was holding back. And it wasn’t that he was drunk, either (well, half-drunk – he had the wherewithal to be gentle with the zipper of her dress so he didn’t break it). It just felt…different. There were moments where he’d stop and look at her, his mouth open as their lips traced each other’s, but his blue eyes would be piercing hers, as if he couldn’t believe she was below him, her legs wrapped around his torso pressing his body against hers. Then he’d start kissing her again, and his hands would wander along her sides, and it felt like there was even more meaning than there usually was behind his kisses. Like there was something he was trying to say with them, something that he couldn’t say with words, or something that he was trying not to say.
“Our wedding’s gonna be all flowers,” he mumbled suddenly against her lips.
Her body stiffened slightly at his words. Okay, so maybe he had no filter right now. Maybe the alcohol was still coursing through his veins and he was a bit more than half-drunk. “Flowers?”
“Mmm,” he smiled, biting her bottom lip. “Cause you love them so much. Lots of flowers. All the flowers in the world.”
She couldn’t help but smile at his reasoning. The fact that he was even thinking about this stuff, and then saying it with no filter, made the butterflies in her stomach flutter. She knew it must have been because of the wedding. She couldn’t help but feel a sense of giddiness. They always said drunk words are sober thoughts, and, well…she was going to get to the bottom of this. “What else?” she couldn’t help but ask.
“Good food. Raw oyster bar,” he continued in between kisses. “You in lace.”
“Lace?” she giggled slightly.
“Mhm,” he nodded slightly, moving down to her neck. “The dress and whatever’s underneath it. You know how lace is my favourite.”
“You’re lucky it’s my favourite too,” she said, moving to unclasp her bra and toss it to the side. “What else?”
“Vancouver or Toronto – doesn’t matter. Just somewhere nice,” he continued, kissing down her body and over her breasts. “You pick. You pick everything. Whatever you want. But the flowers. You love flowers.”
He hooked his fingers into her underwear and slid off her panties, pulling his own underwear down right after. She took the initiative to flip him over so he was on his back, and climbed on top of him to straddle him. She grabbed his cock in her hands and stroked it a few times. She couldn’t help but admit that she loved this. She didn’t know where it was coming from, but she loved it. She wanted more. She wanted to know it all. “Where are we going for our honeymoon?” she smiled, biting her lip as she lowered herself on to his cock.
It took Morgan a few moments to answer – he was too busy relishing in the feeling of his cock inside of her and watching it disappear into her. “Positano,” he gulped. “If I don’t get to take you there before then. So you can see the giant lemons.”
“Oh yeah?” she breathed out, bottoming out, putting her hands on his broad chest.
He nodded, gulping again. His hands squeezed at her hips. “Or Bora Bora. France. Lake Como. New Zealand. Antarctica. Where do you want to go?”
“Anywhere with you, baby.”
“Then we’re going anywhere,” he agreed.
Bee couldn’t help but smile as she began to rock back and forth. As the less drunk of the two, she took it upon herself to do most of the work, knowing Morgan would probably appreciate it. “It’s so deep baby,” she moaned, one of her hands going to her clit. “God, it’s so fucking deep.”
“I’d go to Turkmenistan if you wanted to go there,” he continued, his mind apparently still stuck on their earlier words.
She couldn’t help but laugh, surprised that he even knew it was a country. “Okay, stud,” she giggled out.
“I mean it. You tell me what you want, where you want to go and we’re going.”
She leaned down so her breasts were pressed up against his chest. She kissed him a few times before smiling at him. “I want you to make love to me,” she purred against his lips.
With a flash in Morgan’s eyes, he took the initiative to wrap his arms around her and flip her over so she was on her back below him. He fucked her nice and slow, and passionate, and loving, giving her the same kisses as he was earlier, a mix of sticking his tongue down her throat and tracing his lips onto hers as he looked down at her, his big blue eyes searching for something within her that she didn’t know he was looking for.
“You think about this stuff too, right?” he asked, his tone of voice almost worried as he looked down at her.
She nodded her head. Yes, she did. She did think about this stuff. She thought about what her future would be like with Morgan. She thought about marriage, about children, about raising a family. She thought about growing together. How could she not? He was the love of her life. It was so clear that he was. He was everything that she could have asked for in a partner, and she’d be a liar if she said she hadn’t thought about it. She saw the look in his eyes. She heard his tone of voice. As if he had anything to worry about. “Of course I do,” she kept nodding. “All the time.”
He didn’t say another word. Instead, after some more work on his part, he felt her walls clench around him and he exploded within her, filling her up as he always did, cock twitching at the feeling. She kept her legs wrapped around him as he collapsed on top of her, falling into a quiet, gentle, contented sleep.

A. Kazhdan, J. Haldon, S. Mitchell, T. Gregory, P. Brown, Averil Cameron, David Talbot Rice, Dimitri Obolensky, Donald Nicol John Meyendorff, Margaret Mullett, Liz James, Nikolaos Oikonomides, Peter Charanis, Robert Browning, Speros Vryonis, Steven Runciman, Walter Kaegi, Wolfgang Müller, Paul Magdalino, Anthony Bryer, Judith Herrin, Andrew Dalby, Henry Maguire, Lynda Garland, Barbara Hill gibi birçok tarihçinin (ismini unuttuklarım umarım gece rüyalarıma girmez ve bunun hesabını sormazlar benden) kitaplarını bulabiliyordum burada çünkü burası bir alan kütüphanesiydi.

THE BOOK OF ESTHER - From The Douay-Rheims Bible - Latin Vulgate
Chapter 14
INTRODUCTION.
This Book takes its name from queen Esther; whose history is here recorded. The general opinion of almost all commentators on the Holy Scripture, make Mardochai the writer of it: which also may be collected below from C. ix. 20. Ch. --- He and the queen were certainly authors of the letter, (H.) enjoining the celebration of the feast of Purim, or "lots," which is the ground-work (C.) of the present narration. D. --- The compiler has also had recourse to the archives of the kingdom of Persia: so that his work has all the authority that can be required of a profane historian; and being moreover inspired in all its parts, we cannot refuse to receive it with the utmost respect. Those additions which are not now in Hebrew, (C.) though they were perhaps formerly, (W. Origen. D.) have been carefully preserved by S. Jerom, and were recognized by the ancient Vulg. as they are at present by the Greek, without any distinction. Lysimachus, the Greek translator, was probably the author of them. C. xi. 1. C. --- The objections of Capellus against this "Greek scribbler," as he is pleased to style him, despising the judgment of both Jews and Christians, are in general very unaccountably borrowed (H.) from the Latin version, and are easily refuted. Houbigant. --- Those Jews, who have rejected this work entirely, with Melito, (Eus. Hist. iv. 26. S. Greg. Naz. &c.) ought not to prevail against the consent of the majority, (C.) expressed in the Councils of Laodicea, Carthage, Trent, sess. 4, &c. To read this book according to the order of time, we should begin C. xi. v. 2, &c. C. i. ii. and xii. and iii. to v. 14; then we find the distress of the Jews in the rest of that chapter, and in C. xiii. to v. 8, and their delivery in C. iv. to ix. v. 17, and C. xiii. v. 8, &c. and C. xiv. xv. and xvi. The consequences of these events are recorded C. ix. v. 17, &c. to C. xi. 1. (W.) with which verse the book ends, in the Greek editions. H. --- They vary considerably, as did the copies of the ancient Vulgate, which called forth the complaints of S. Jerom, Pref. But the Church has distinguished what was spurious from the genuine word of God; so that the doubts of Lyran, Sixtus, (Bib. viii.) &c. respecting the fragments at the end of the book being not canonical, ought no longer to be indulged; much less can the boldness of many Lutherans, (C.) and particularly of Le Clerc, (Houbigant) be tolerated, who represent the whole work as a mere fiction. The Jews have a greater respect for it than for any of the prophets; whose works, they say, will perish at the coming of the Messias: whereas this will subsist with the books of Moses, and the feast of Purim will never be abolished. C. ix. 28. Maimon. --- Ben. Gorion (ii. 2.) admits the additions. But Josephus is silent about them, as he probably did not find them in his copy. C. --- He recites, however, both the epistles of Assuerus. Ant. xi. 6. D. --- It is not agreed whether these events happened before or after the captivity. But it is now most commonly supposed, that Esther was married to Darius Hystaspes, A. 3489, about the time of the dedication of the temple. C. xiv. 9. He had been on the throne six years, and reigned other thirty. See Herod. vii. 4. C. --- Josephus thinks that Esther was the queen of Artaxerxes Longimanus, who was a great friend of the Jews. D. --- The Thalmud attributes this work to the great Synagogue, consisting of Esdras, Mardochai, Joachim, &c. and, as various persons might write the same history, the Greek, with the additions, seems to be taken from one copy, and the Hebrew from another rather more concise, (Huet. D.) but equally inspired. H.
The additional Notes in this Edition of the New Testament will be marked with the letter A. Such as are taken from various Interpreters and Commentators, will be marked as in the Old Testament. B. Bristow, C. Calmet, Ch. Challoner, D. Du Hamel, E. Estius, J. Jansenius, M. Menochius, Po. Polus, P. Pastorini, T. Tirinus, V. Bible de Vence, W. Worthington, Wi. Witham. — The names of other authors, who may be occasionally consulted, will be given at full length.

HAYDOCK CATHOLIC BIBLE COMMENTARY
This Catholic commentary on the Old Testament, following the Douay-Rheims Bible text, was originally compiled by Catholic priest and biblical scholar Rev. George Leo Haydock (1774-1849). This transcription is based on Haydock's notes as they appear in the 1859 edition of Haydock's Catholic Family Bible and Commentary printed by Edward Dunigan and Brother, New York, New York.

Chapter 14
The prayer of Esther for herself and her people.
[1] Queen Esther also, fearing the danger that was at hand, had recourse to the Lord.
[2] And when she had laid away her royal apparel, she put on garments suitable for weeping and mourning: instead of divers precious ointments, she covered her head with ashes and dung, and she humbled her body with fasts: and all the places in which before she was accustomed to rejoice, she filled with her torn hair.
Cumque deposuisset vestes regias, fletibus et luctui apta indumenta suscepit, et pro unguentis variis, cinere et stercore implevit caput, et corpus suum humiliavit jejuniis : omniaque loca, in quibus antea laetari consueverat, crinium laceratione complevit.
[3] And she prayed to the Lord the God of Israel, saying: O my Lord, who alone art our king, help me a desolate woman, and who have no other helper but thee.
[4] My danger is in my hands.
Periculum meum in manibus meis est.
[5] I have heard of my father that thou, O Lord, didst take Israel from among all nations, and our fathers from all their predecessors, to possess them as an everlasting inheritance, and thou hast done to them as thou hast promised.
[6] We have sinned in thy sight, and therefore thou hast delivered us into the hands of our enemies:
Peccavimus in conspectu tuo, et idcirco tradidisti nos in manus inimicorum nostrorum :
[7] For we have worshipped their gods. Thou art just, O Lord.
coluimus enim deos eorum. Justus es Domine :
[8] And now they are not content to oppress us with most hard bondage, but attributing the strength of their hands to the power of their idols,
[9] They design to change thy promises, and destroy thy inheritance, and shut the mouths of them that praise thee, and extinguish the glory of thy temple and altar,
[10] That they may open the mouths of Gentiles, and praise the strength of idols, and magnify for ever a carnal king.
[11] Give not, O Lord, thy sceptre to them that are not, lest they laugh at our ruin: but turn their counsel upon themselves, and destroy him that hath begun to rage against us.
[12] Remember, O Lord, and shew thyself to us in the time of our tribulation, and give me boldness, O Lord, king of gods, and of all power:
Memento Domine, et ostende te nobis in tempore tribulationis nostrae, et da mihi fiduciam, Domine rex deorum, et universae potestatis :
[13] Give me a well ordered speech in my mouth in the presence of the lion, and turn his heart to the hatred of our enemy, that both he himself may perish, and the rest that consent to him.
[14] But deliver us by thy hand, and help me, who have no other helper, but thee, O Lord, who hast the knowledge of all things.
[15] And thou knowest that I hate the glory of the wicked, and abhor the bed of the uncircumcised, and of every stranger.
et nosti quia oderim gloriam iniquorum, et detester cubile incircumcisorum, et omnis alienigenae.
[16] Thou knowest my necessity, that I abominate the sign of my pride and glory, which is upon my head in the days of my public appearance, and detest it as a menstruous rag, and wear it not in the days of my silence,
[17] And that I have not eaten at Aman's table, nor hath the king's banquet pleased me, and that I have not drunk the wine of the drink offerings:
et quod non comederim in mensa Aman, nec mihi placuerit convivium regis, et non biberim vinum libaminum :
[18] And that thy handmaid hath never rejoiced, since I was brought hither unto this day, but in thee, O Lord, the God of Abraham.
et numquam laetata sit ancilla tua, ex quo huc translata sum usque in praesentem diem, nisi in te, Domine Deus Abraham.
[19] O God, who art mighty above all, hear the voice of them, that have no other hope, and deliver us from the hand of the wicked, and deliver me from my fear.
Commentary:
Ver. 1. Fearing. Gr. "caught in the agony of death." The old Vulgate has many variations in this chapter. C. --- This prayer should be placed after that of Mardochai, at the end of C. iv. M.
Ver. 2. Ointments. Gr. "instead of the proud sweets, she filled her head with ashes and dust." Such as might be soon cleansed again. H. --- Torn. Gr. "curled hair," (straptwn trichwn. H.) some of which she cut off. See Lev. xix. 27. and xxi. 5. Houbig.
Ver. 4. Hands; very imminent. I am ready to expose my life. Ps. cxviii. 109. C.
Ver. 5. Heard. Old Vulg. often repeats, "from the books of my fathers;" adducing the various instances of protection which God had shewn to his people, Noe, Abraham, Jonas, the three children, Daniel, Ezechias, and Anna: which intimates that Esther made the sacred books the subject of her frequent meditations, as good people ought to do. H.
Ver. 7. For. Gr. "since we have extolled," &c. Esther had not been guilty herself of this prevarication; but too many of the people had. H.
Ver. 8. But. Gr. Compl. "Yea, thou hast placed (or rather as the Alex. MS. reads, they have placed) their hands upon the hands of their idols, (H. making league together. C.) to tear away the decree of thy mouth," (H.) and to put in execution the projects of (M.) the devil. H.
Ver. 10. Idols. Gr. "of the vain things, and to render wonderful for ever," &c.
Ver. 11. Not idols, as they are often here designated, (C. and 1 Cor. viii.) being only the imaginations of men. W. --- Destroy. Gr. "Make an example of the man, who had begun (H. evils. C.) against us." H. --- She throws the blame upon Aman, and not upon her husband. C.
Ver. 12. Gods. Gr. "nations, and Lord of all power." H.
Ver. 13. Lion. This expression seems not sufficiently respectful. Capellus. --- But why might not Esther use it with regard to one, who was raging against her people more than any lion, as S. Paul applies it to Nero, probably after her example? Houbigant. 2 Tim. iv. 17. --- David also thus styles Saul and his persecutors in general. Ps. vii. 3. &c. C.
Ver. 15. Stranger. Only those near Chanaan were forbidden to marry; and S. Paul commends Eunice, who had espoused an infidel. Capel. --- But this was not the reason of his commendation; for he ordains, Bear not the yoke with infidels. A pious woman might, therefore, very well refrain from such contracts, to which the Jews, at this time, were in a manner forced. Still Esther might have a conjugal love for her husband, (Houbig.) though she would have preferred to marry one poorer of her own religion; and here she only submitted to the designs of God, in raising her to such an elevated station. M.
Ver. 16. Sign. The diadem. It was no sin to wear it. Capel. --- What then? May not a pious prince despise such ornaments, raising his mind above them? Houbig. --- Silence, when I am alone. Nothing could give us a higher idea of Esther's virtue and greatness of soul, as her elevation did not make her forget herself. C.
Ver. 17. Me. Ought she to have been thus affected towards her husband? Capel. - Undoubtedly: as the meats and the wine had been offered to idols. Houbig.

A Harlem Globetrotters nagyszabású show-t kanyarít a Papp László Budapest Sportarénában

Puhatalpú/gumitalpú cipőt kötelező viselni a pályán.
Harlem Globetrotters
Az 1926-ban alapított világhírű Harlem Globetrotters egyet jelent a családi szórakoztatással és a fantasztikus kosárlabda mutatványokkal. A Globetrotters már 9 évtizede elkötelezett a rajongói iránt, tagjai között tudhat jószolgálati nagyköveteket is. A csapat bejárta a világot, mindenhol ledöntötte a kulturális és szociális korlátokat, miközben kosárlabda játékukkal rekordokat döntöttek.
A Harlem Globetrotters évente 450 élő show-val lép fel világszerte, és több mint 1,7 millió social media rajongó követi őket a főbb platformokon. A Harlem Globetrotters az amerikai Vöröskereszt hivatalos támogatója.

A következő szezonra a Globetrotters 6 új játékost választott ki, köztük két sztárt is a 2017-es College Slam Dunk Bajnokságból: Rodney Pryor-t (Georgetown University) és A.J. Merriweather-t (East Tennessee State University) hogy csatlakozzanak a csapathoz, valamint a kanadai születésű Naz Mitrou-Long-ot (Iowa State University), aki egyben jószolgálati nagykövetként is szolgál.
