Benefits of Pure Honey
Pure honey offers a multitude of benefits that make it a valuable addition to your diet and daily life. Some of the key advantages of consuming pure, raw honey include: Nutrient-Rich: Pure, raw honey is a natural source of essential nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. It contains small amounts of vitamins B and C, as well as minerals like calcium, iron, and potassium. Natural Energy Boost: Honey is a quick and easily digestible source of carbohydrates, making it an excellent energy booster. It can be consumed before or during physical activities to provide a natural energy kick. Antioxidant Properties: Honey is rich in antioxidants, which help protect your body against free radicals and oxidative stress. These antioxidants can support overall health and may reduce the risk of chronic diseases. Soothes Sore Throats: Honey has been used for centuries as a natural remedy for soothing sore throats and coughs. Its thick consistency helps coat the throat, while its antimicrobial properties may provide relief. Wound Healing: Honey's natural antibacterial properties can aid in wound healing and tissue repair. It can be applied topically to minor cuts, burns, and abrasions to promote healing and prevent infection. Digestive Health: Consuming honey in moderation may support digestive health. It can help alleviate symptoms of indigestion and may act as a mild laxative when mixed with warm water. Skin Benefits: When applied to the skin, honey can moisturize, hydrate, and soothe. It is often used in skincare products to address issues like dryness, acne, and inflammation. Allergy Relief: Some people believe that consuming local raw honey may help alleviate allergy symptoms, as it could expose the body to small amounts of local pollen and potentially build immunity over time. Natural Sweetener: Honey is a healthier alternative to refined sugar and can be used as a natural sweetener in various recipes, beverages, and desserts. Weight Management: Substituting honey for sugar in your diet may help with weight management, as it is sweeter than sugar, allowing you to use less while still satisfying your sweet cravings. It's crucial to emphasize that the benefits of pure, raw honey can vary depending on the source of purchase. At Carlisle Honey, located at The Colony on 7 Locust Ave in Tyngsboro, MA 01879, our honey is meticulously crafted by experienced beekeepers right at our bee farm. Here, you can discover the raw, unfiltered, and purest manifestation of honey available.

Day 24: comfort food
Tumblr media
Masterlist flufftober 🎃
Reblog if you liked it!
TW: This is fluff, but I think it might lean more into a hurt/comfort trope. Also, it's hinted that the reader is dealing with depression, so if you're sensitive to the topic, you might want to skip this day!!
Hugs to all the people who are going through a tough time. I suffer from this disorder myself and I know it's complicated, but things can always get better. It's a great day for you to live and I love you
Spencer was in the kitchen, silent. He couldn’t help but notice that you had been feeling quite down in the past few days. Although he had his suspicions, he hadn’t dared to ask you directly. The clearest sign was your constant desire to stay in your room, only coming out for strictly necessary reasons. It wasn’t that he was the type to notice those things, but he picked up on even the subtlest details. You hadn’t showered, or at least not that he had seen. The accumulation of small signs was what worried him.
What could he do? It would be too intrusive to just knock on your door and ask for an explanation. He had no right to demand something like that from you, and invading your privacy would be a mistake. He knew that forcing a conversation wasn’t the solution, especially with you. However, worry gnawed at him from the inside. He wanted to see you smile again, or at least for you to come out of your shell. He thought and thought about how to approach you without seeming intrusive until an idea struck him: prepare breakfast. It was something that wouldn’t seem intentional or accusatory. Besides, if you didn’t feel like talking, you could simply take the food back to your room.
He knew how much you loved waffles; so much so that after several discussions about how much you spent on boxes of Eggos, you both had decided to invest in a waffle maker. Spencer didn’t consider himself a professional chef, but he could manage the basics. With determination, he got to work.
While he whisked the batter, he didn’t realize you had come into the kitchen until he turned around and saw you sitting at the dining table.
“Hi!” he exclaimed, somewhat surprised to see you there.
“Are you making waffles?” you asked, trying to look over his shoulder. “I could recognize that smell anywhere.”
As he observed you, Spencer noticed the traces of crying on your face. He said nothing; instead, he approached with a plate and gently set it in front of you.
“You’ll have the privilege of eating first. Just because you came over,” he said with a warm smile.
You made a small grimace; it wasn’t quite a full smile, but it expressed gratitude. You knew he wasn’t an idiot and had noticed your absence. Still, you felt at peace that he hadn’t pressured you to talk. On the plate, besides two freshly made waffles, there were blueberries scattered on top. Spencer also offered you jam, hazelnut spread, and honey so you could enjoy your breakfast however you wanted.
“Did you make coffee?” you asked, trying to steer the conversation toward something light.
“Hot oat milk,” he corrected you. With the same care, he placed a cup in front of you. “Did you know that drinking oat milk in the mornings is beneficial? It provides sustained energy, improves digestion thanks to its fiber, helps regulate blood sugar levels, and reduces bad cholesterol, so to speak. Plus, it’s rich in essential nutrients like B vitamins, iron, and magnesium, which support good overall health.”
“But it smells like coffee,” you replied, raising an eyebrow.
“Yeah. I’ll drink coffee; you’ll have hot oat milk”
You sighed, slightly offended by the distinction. When you asked why, he simply said he wanted you to stay healthy. Although he didn’t say it explicitly, his eyes said it all: he was worried about you. Despite that, you didn’t want to talk about what was going on. You knew he would understand everything you were going through, but you were exhausted—too tired to express how you felt.
The first bite of the waffle tasted heavenly; it was the first thing you enjoyed in days. “Do you have something for today?” he asked cautiously, trying to initiate a conversation. You shook your head. “If you’re up for it, maybe we can go out somewhere. Anywhere you want,” he suggested, hoping that would cheer you up.
“You don’t like being around people,” you replied softly, looking at him with a hint of irony.
“We can go to a place where there’s no one. Or we can just go to a park... I don’t know, wherever you feel like.”
“Spencer,” you interrupted him suddenly. From the tone of your voice, he thought he might have done something wrong. “I really appreciate you trying to make me feel better, but honestly, I don’t have the energy to go anywhere. And please, don’t pity me. I know it sounds strange, but I just want you to keep seeing me as your friend, okay? I’m not what I’m going through; it’s just... a setback,” you murmured, your voice barely audible. “I came here because I want to be with you. Being here distracts me from everything else. So please, I beg you to treat me like you always have. I’m still me.”
“I didn’t imply otherwise,” he said softly. “I just thought we could do something to lift your spirits.”
“This... you making my favorite food and having breakfast with me is what makes me feel better,” you confessed with a sincerity he appreciated.
Spencer was touched by your words and nodded gently.
“Do you want to talk about something?” he offered with the same patience as always.
“Not right now. Maybe later.”
“Do you want more waffles?”
“One, please.”
“Do you need a hug?”
You didn’t respond with words. Instead, you leaned slightly toward him, and Spencer understood the message immediately. You knew you could trust him; he would never judge you. So why was it so hard for you to speak? Why did the words get stuck in your throat?
You wanted to cry, but it was as if all your tears had run dry. Instead, you clung to him, feeling the warmth of his body and the thudding of his heart. You just stayed there, leaning against him, letting his comforting scent and closeness soothe you.
“Thank you for being such a good friend. Sometimes I think I don’t deserve you,” you murmured, trying not to sound broken.
“Psh, don’t say that,” he gently scolded you. He still had you in his arms. “Whenever you need me, I’m just a hallway away.”
For the first time in days, you laughed. That’s what you liked about him: the trust he gave you, even though he considered himself insecure. The bond between you had strengthened thanks to sharing so many everyday things.
“The waffles... they’re so good. What did you put in them?” you asked suddenly, pulling away from him and wiping your cheeks out of habit, even though you hadn’t shed a single tear.
“I used the classic recipe, but I added extra banana and nuts to give them a different texture.”
“I hate bananas!” you exclaimed, with a spark of enthusiasm in your voice. “How do they taste so good here?”
“You see, it all comes down to a chemical matter in the properties of food when they combine...” he began to explain, launching into one of his usual dissertations about things you didn’t quite understand.
But you stayed listening attentively because the sound of his voice was more comforting than anything else that crossed your mind. Sometimes, having a roommate like Spencer was all you needed to make those tough moments more bearable.

Benefits of Sea Moss For Women
Sea moss, is a type of seaweed that is rich in nutrients, including vitamins and minerals such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, iodine, and sulfur. Sea moss is also a good source of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, and is commonly consumed for its health benefits, which include supporting the immune system, improving gut health, and promoting skin health. Some people also use sea moss as a natural remedy for conditions such as joint pain, high blood pressure, and thyroid issues.
Hormonal balance: Sea moss is rich in iodine, which is important for hormonal balance, especially for women during menstruation and menopause.
Bone health: Sea moss contains calcium, which is important for strong bones. Women are more prone to osteoporosis as they age, making calcium intake important.
Thyroid health: Sea moss contains iodine, which is necessary for proper thyroid function. Women are more likely to have thyroid problems, so adequate iodine intake is important.
Immune system: Sea moss contains vitamins and minerals that boost the immune system, including vitamins C and A, iron, and potassium.
Anti-inflammatory: Sea moss has anti-inflammatory properties, which can help reduce symptoms of conditions such as arthritis and PMS.
It is generally recommended to take 1-2 tablespoons of sea moss gel daily. I buy from the brand Akasha and eat it at some point during my mornings. You can take it alone, or mix it with your smoothies/shakes. You can also combine the spoonful with either honey, cinnamon, or both!

Note
The following has been rotating in my head like rotisserie chicken for a while now:
What the heck did little Samus eat during her time on Zebes?? What plants and/or meats there would be safe for human consumption (unless Old Bird had human food imported)?
Most of Zebes' fruit and nut-bearing plants are safe for consumption. If you can deal with the thorns or chemically pacify them for a short spell, Cacatac bear fruit with a rather pleasant floral taste.
Flesh-eating bacteria introduced to Zebes by zoomers (which are native to Tallon IV) killed off a good chunk of edible animals, though there were still quite a few beasties that prime for chow time.
The Beetom possesses legs full of succulent meat not unlike earthly crabs. Their nutrient rich eyes are also a delicacy.
If you can find and neutralize them, Geega are edible. Remove the horns and venom sacs, and you can roast them like big grubs. The wings make a nice crispy treat.
Kiru Giru were hunted by the Thoha in the old days. Unfortunately, Samus hasn't had the opportunity to taste one: Norfair's just too far down for robots to reliably go hunting.
Kago are delicious skewered and roasted. Their soft red hives are delicious raw, but can also be used in a lush stew.
Every part of the humble Mellow can be eaten, save for the mandibles and carapace.
Tangle vine fruit is, in fact, edible: unfortunately, the Thoha have not had the opportunity to harvest it in years. With the correct kit, the vines ensnaring the fruit can be chemically manipulated into releasing their hold on it.
Owtch are prized for the tangy meat within their shells.
Puyo are sort of like amoeboid colonies or some form of slime mold: puyo slime can be used as a thickening agent or a catalyst in jelly creation. The puyo itself gives off a strange flavor: not disgusting, mind you, but certainly strange by human standards. Each color variant tastes different. Not exactly palatable to most on their own, but they have their uses. In the old days, they were domesticated in Maridia, and the mostly-docile white variant was bred. You can also grow puyo colonies like sourdough starter. The colony can be controlled by changing the environment in the enclosure, and separating globs from the bucket every now and again is vital to colony maintenance. Old Bird kept a puyo colony for culinary purposes.
Every part of the Reo (except the talons on the end of the pincers) can be used. Crispy sauteed wings, sour but nutritious eyes, and the juicy meat within the carapace make excellent fare for a hunter willing to deal with them.
Ripper meat can be difficult to reach due to that hard shell. Nabbing the tasty flesh inside is as simple as putting them in a pot, placing the pot in a freezer for several hours, and waiting for the shells to pop open. They're like reverse oysters. You can crack the red ones open like a coconut if you're strong enough.
Sbugs are tasty treats. Opportunistic scavengers, you can trap them by leaving smelly bait or fabricated meat out. Cook 'em or eat 'em raw: they're an all-rounder snack and a handy side all in one.
The sciser is a pushover crustacean with sweet meat. Put bait in a specially made cage-pot and wait for a few to fall into it. Boil or roast and enjoy with your preferred seasoning. Grey Voice enjoys them salted and herbed.
Skultera are a pain in the rear end to hunt for the Thoha these days, so they usually don't bother. In the old days, skultera were small potatoes. Would indubitably taste good with them, too. Get those taters buttered and mashed, filet the fish, and fry it or sear up a skultera steak with herbed honey garlic sauce or a buttery meunièr...
Squeept are edible, but not feasible for the elderly Thoha to hunt these days. Claw meat is soft, while the body meat, while gristly, makes good fare for soup. The body meat is commonly boiled for soup stock to infuse the meal with the flavor and nutrient profile, then discarded before serving.
Tatori are like real-life turtles. They can be fried bone-in (or out), cooked in stews and soups, roasted, barbecued... you name it. Tatori gravy is delicious with dumplings or grains like rice.
Waver flesh is nutritious and earthy. The muscles enabling them to open and close their shells are gamey with a bit of an umami tang. The eyes are jiggly and jelly: delightful to children. Discard the pincers from the plate and use them to make utensils later. Wavers can be roasted whole in-shell or taken apart.
Yards are small pincer-laden molluscs. Broil them in butter or sauce, in or out of the shell.
Meat is a little scarce under the zeela's hooded shell, but the eyeballs are soft and very appealing fried.
Zoa are like shrimp with large claws. Salty meat with a hint of sweetness: the eyes are a little bland, but seasoning makes them more palatable. Zoa were commonly boiled or roasted. The claw meat is the tastiest part.
Tumblr media
This is what a zoa looks like, for those who can't make out the details from the tiny sprite.
In the absence of folks available to hunt down edible fauna, meat products can be synthesized. Many of the Thoha have trouble slaying living creatures, so they're content to make do with such things. Despite this, they have defense robots that can be programmed to bring back animals to be processed for culinary use (meat and eye removed from a fresh Beetom carcass by way of machinery, DIY with your hands, etc. It's easy for many Thoha elders to handle something that's already dead: killing it by hand is the hard part for them).
The Thoha are staunch pacifists, so they make a huge deal out of thanking any slain animals for the meat they provide, and try to use every part of the beast in some capacity. For example, once cleaned of organic matter and sanitized, Beetom shells can be used to make jewelry, and boiled to fashion other household objects or soap. Yard shells make gorgeous adornments, but can also be lacquered for use as vessels to hold fluids and other oddities.
Meaty food is a little limited by the time Samus is brought to Zebes (thanks zoomers), and the Thoha are too old to be cavorting in the more dangerous regions by themselves, but they had methods for subduing and cooking some of their native beasts.

Great King, What do you enjoy to eat? I'm not asking a simple icebreaker question I should be clear. In my opinion, one of if not THE greatest pleasures in life, more than physical desires, is easily food. You've lived through literally countless eras, not years or decades but ERAS, and you've traveled just as much as you've lived, the amount of history and experience you have in anything is sure to be boundless and priceless let alone on something as culturally and physically important as not just food for survival, but food for pleasure. A good meal can not only provide sustenance, nutrients to strengthen and nurture the body but a good meal can also fix, or break, any spirit or moral. A dish can also tell the entire history of a person, nation or even an entire people. You're a very large man and not to mention a very, very active warrior so I can imagine that you've had to learn of ways to not only replenish your strength while also enjoying a meal fit for the greatest of kings. You've talked at length many a time on Gerudo cuisine, and don't get me wrong I'd always love to hear more, but I also know you're a wise and cultured man with a broad mind who's explored palettes as much the lands and time itself. I want to hear about your more adventurous expeditions in the culinary frontiers. I wish to know what tastes you find pleasant, what you find repulsive, what you initially thought lesser of but was pleasantly surprised by, do you prefer the sweeter tastes? The soft, sweet taste of a smooth honey or a rough sugary explosion? What things had greater value, were they good for the body or the soul? The mind or the heart? Do you lean towards more savory, rich dishes or more hearty meals? There are a million different ways one can prepare an apple all with drastically different and hardly resembling one another. Those arent exactly what I mean to ask but are just examples, I seek something far more abstract. I seek any and all knowledge you're willing to give about food and am especially interested in your experiences further away from the comfort of the familiar.
Eating is necessary for survival. This was the way when I was a youth. It was only when I was filly grown and had already infiltrated the realm and castle of Hyrule did I learn kg eating for pleasure.
While I have already had meals that pleased me greatly within the desert, the idea of living to eat rather than eating to live was foreign to me completely.
However, it is as you say. Over the millenia, I have sampled many varieties of dishes and many more flavors.
I can honestly say, as I have before, that Goron cuisine is not fit for those who cannot digest rock. They also require incredibly high heat to cook their... Minerals, so even tasting such dishes can be hazardous to one's health.
Hylian delicacies are, as I have said, quite bland. They have plenty in butters and salts and herbs, but lack in spice and spirit. For this, I find their dishes dull.
Zoran cuisine tool longest to understand, and delight in the mixing of salted and spur, bur they have masters the blend, and have made sea-born food palatable to thise of the desert.

Showing one of the techniques I use to revive a scorpion, the water on her chelicerae in the top two pics is actually a kind of "bug soup". I chop up mealworms into water and offer it through (in this case) a blunt tip syringe, but you can also use a paintbrush, a q-tip, or a dropper. Lightly apply a drop or two to the chelicerae and wait, you should see if they're drinking because their chelicerae will move and their pedipalps and/or front two legs will start "pulsing". It does this as a reaction to their sucking stomach taking in fluid. She was really thirsty, you can see how much her tergites spread from the beginning in the top pic on the left to the end in the top pic on the right. She typically drinks a lot of water, but she didn't appear to be drinking lately because she's been getting skinnier and she hasn't been eating. I offered her mealworm soup water to help rehydrate her and give her some nutrients and energy, and will keep an eye on her. Some people use honey or sugar water to do the same thing, I prefer to use chopped up feeders to provide fats and protein and because for most arachnids they're almost never going to be seeking out or consuming large amounts of sugar like that. Even the spiders that will eat pollen aren't typically eating the sugary nectar, and pollen is much more protein rich.

The smoothie’s ingredients include a supplement powder made from uncooked, freeze-dried beef liver, heart, kidney, spleen and pancreas, blended with more typical smoothie ingredients, including blueberries, banana and honey. It’s topped with whipped coconut cream blended with powdered cow colostrum, the nutrient-rich milk cows produce after giving birth.

TW CAL0R1ES!!!
I keep hearing how good chia seeds are!
here’s a chia seed pudding recipe!
when it comes to calories it really depends on brands ect. so depending on what you buy it WILL be different
1. Chia seeds (1/4 cup): Approximately
180 calories
2. Milk or plant milk (3/4 cup):
Approximately 60-90 calories (depending on the type of milk, e.g., whole milk vs. almond milk)
3. Honey or maple syrup (2 TBSP) :
Approximately 20 - 120 calories
(yes ik a huge cal difference but it’s bc of no sugar ones as-well! )
4. Vanilla extract (optional, 2 tsp):
Approximately 12 calories
5. Greek yogurt or thick coconut yogurt (1 cup) Approximately 100-150 calories (depending on the type of yogurt)
you also don’t need to have it as a pudding!! you can have just some water and lemon! but make sure to soak the chia seeds in water for at least 4 - 7 hours, dry chia seeds can and will clog your stomach!
here are the benefits!!
1. Rich in Nutrients: Chia seeds are full of essential nutrients, including fiber, protein, omega-3 acids, and various vitamins and minerals.
2. High in Fibre: They are an excellent source of dietary fiber, which can aid in digestion, promote feelings of fullness, and help regulate blood sugar levels. (meaning 💩 = flat stomach!!)
3. Omega-3 Acids: Chia seeds contain alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), a type of omega-3 acid that supports heart health and may reduce inflammation.
4. Antioxidants: They are rich in antioxidants, which can help protect the body from oxidative stress and reduce the risk of chronic diseases.
6. Weight Management: Due to their high fiber content, chia seeds can help with weight management by promoting satiety and reducing overall calorie intake.
7. Heart Health: The combination of fiber, omega-3 acids, and antioxidants can contribute to improved heart health by lowering cholesterol levels and reducing inflammation.
8. Blood Sugar Control: Chia seeds may help stabilize blood sugar levels, making them beneficial for people with diabetes or those looking to manage their blood sugar.
9. Hydration: When soaked in liquid, chia seeds expand and form a gel-like consistency, which can help maintain hydration levels.
10. Makes you fuller: eating chia seeds honestly makes me full for the ENTIRE DAY.
remember that you are loved! (¯ ³¯)♡
