Watched the first ep of Ohsama Sentai Kingohger, the latest entry in the Super Sentai franchise and wow strong start! A lot my CGI this time around since the setting is more fantasy-esque but still very cool. Love the suit designs! very unique to other sentai teams cuz of their insect theming. The world building looks to be very vast because 4/5 of the Kingohgers rule their respective kingdoms. Tombo Ohger/Yanma Gust (blue) is a science and technology based kingdom, Kamakiri Ohger/Himeno Ran (yellow) is very much like a victorian baroque period kingdom that emphasized art and medicine, Papillion Ohger/Rita Kanisuka (purple)'s kingdom is law and order, and Hachi Ohger/Kaguragi Dibotsuki (black) rules a kingdom of agriculture and its more like feudal Japan Kuwagata Ohger/Gira (red) is an interesting case that I wont get into but his situation is pretty unique from the other 4. Also he has such an interesting way to view things in terms of justice. You have to watch to see what I mean. Bonus points if Kingohger has their first non-binary sentai member with Papillion Ohger cuz so far info on Rita Kanisuka's gender has not been revealed yet. Im hooked. i like to think of jam as such a “would you love me in another universe” type of relationship. or what could’ve been? that’s what feels so tragic to me. like - jay could’ve been the only other somewhat close relationship tim had in his life other than brian. or if they had met under different circumstances, would it have been healthier? or even how jay felt? he said it himself he wasn’t exactly doing anything pre-mh. hmm. he felt less alone; but i can only wonder how else it could’ve gone if they were close in another scenario. or ; if they could’ve met in a less depressing part of their lives. they are like a book with the last pages ripped out!

Huh, I didn't even realize it'd been a year since BG3 came out until I opened tumblr this morning. Kinda wild. I didn't think much of the game's release: I like Larian's games, and I like the BG series. I wasn't ever going to skip the game, but I didn't think I'd play it at launch because I was busy working on a novel in 2023 and not doing well financially.

Thankfully, circumstances left me with a little bit of extra money last year just before launch and it meant I could spend on a video game. I needed a pick-me-up after said 2023 novel failed to go anywhere, and BG3 was right there. Like most CRPGs, I played it in basically every moment of free time that I had and did as much as I possibly could in one playthrough.

It's so odd how these small happenstances can snowball into coming back to fandom, finding some friends I might've never met otherwise, and writing a lot of fanfiction along the way. I'll probably have something more interesting to say/share when it's the 14th, AKA when I sat down and wrote my first fic for this fandom.

Anyways, it's been a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to more years to come 💜

Ok now that it's been a few days since release,, does anyone else feel kinda confused on where the show is meant to go now? I mean there's the Quintessons, Quintus Prime + Terratronus setup I guess, but otherwise I'm just a bit confused on what the goal is now? There's not really a "big bad guy" anymore, aside from I guess?? Starscream???? Although I feel like the Decepticons are either going to cast him out/push him out of the leadership role due to that whole titan fiasco- Kinda just curious what they'll do with him now ig,, And are the Chaos Terrans just dead now?? I dunno, I really like the show and its characters/potential, but right now it just feels a bit... directionless?

Also I can't be the only one who feels like they handled the chaos terrans a bit,,, weird,,,,, right? As in there might be some unintended implications that don't feel very thought out?

This isn't really an ask but I just wanted to say that one of the reasons I enjoy your writing so much is how you break everything down in a phsych-ie way. (Sorry that made no sense) but like you break down everyone's thought process so well and intricately, you have a reason why anyone did anything and it all makes sense ( if that makes any sense) but yeah keep doing what your doing and thank you for writing this amazing story

Thank you!!! Digging deep deep deep into how the characters think is so fun for me, I wanna know what makes them tick.

I took a billion psychology and sociology courses in high school & college (and courses on a bunch of other topics I thought would explain how people function—social anthropology, religion, philosophy), and I still read psychology books For Fun & For Writing Research, so like, this is a whole topic of fascination for me. Everything everyone does is influenced by a dozen factors ranging from life lessons they unconsciously absorbed when they were five to whether or not they've had breakfast yet. It's probably not a stretch to say that for every single line of dialogue I run through a mental process of "how does who they are impact what they're feeling, what they're thinking, how they speak?"

On any given line I could probably give you three paragraphs about what's going on underneath the surface. I love when people highlight random lines they like because it gives me an excuse to go "oh yeah all this is going on in there—"

This house doesn’t really talk a lot of game.. which to be fair last season was kind of insane in the first couple weeks. Cirie , Izzy Felicia would literally flip the votes every five seconds so I know that’s not how it normally goes but this cast is so…. Sometimes this cast gives me a little bit love Island vibes, but without the fun and drama lol .
