more context on my idea for the second image down below. i must yap about my beautiful princess daughter's personality struggles. (post yapping realization: LOT OF WORDS BELOW...went a little crazy there, sorry boys.)

For deeper context before I continue, I've noticed upon my 57th reread of the series quite a while ago that Baki and Kozue are...incredibly similar in terms of character. They're facially identical at times, they display a lot of the same mannerisms and way of speaking, they have a very similar attitude and personality and not to mention the same deep, powerful fighting spirit. Im planning a post on this topic to reeeally go in-depth and sell why I think BakiKozue is perfect peak selfcest and how they are essentially perfect for each other (proof included). But thats a thought for another day.

Because Baki is primarily—if not only a fighting/combat oriented series, we don't get a lot of screen time for characters outside of the fighting scene...and that includes Kozue. I have this neat idea, (I'm also planning to maybe write something on) where she starts trying to...loosen up and understand the people who make up the 'aliens from planet strong' as she's dubbed them. She'd go around place to place observing them, interacting with them, giving them gifts etc. (Her going to Hanayama HQ, visiting the disaster of a dojo Shinshinkai, finding Chiharu's biker gang, cool shit like that)

The more she goes around to these grungy, sometimes dangerous places surrounded with these fighting obsessed men, the more her empathetic heart starts to not just sympathize with them, but heavily understand their views.

Baki's whole fighting shtick is that he knows all of the major martial arts. He can simply observe them and replicate them perfectly, if not making them stronger overall. Because Baki and Kozue are just the same person but gender-swapped (I WILL SELL YOU GUYS ON THIS IDEA SOON. It's true...I promise.), I thought of something. If Baki can observe and be around those who use a particular style and can replicate it, Kozue can be around a group of people and start picking up their attitude, mannerisms and way of speaking. The only difference being...Kozue doesn't realize she's replicating the ones shes around/heavily empathizes with. It's completely unintentional.

That leads back to my drawing, well...drawINGS, I guess. Besides the third one. I like to draw her so upset because of not just how rare it is to see, but to really explore her changing of attitude when she...I dunno, hangs around Chiharu and Kiyosumi too much. God damn those too. Look at what you've done to her.

My idea for that particular picture goes as follows: Kozue is alone, walking down the busy street on her way home (most likely from a dangerous area where she was hanging out with some unruly individuals), she's been around waaay too many tough folk as of late and her aura and personality are really representing that. Now, I imagine some loser, host club looking fellow stops in front her and starts asking for her number. She's obviously—very annoyed. With a tinge of resentment in her voice, she tells him to move out of her way. The man doesn't listen. I don't know if you guys knew this, but Kozue hates not being listened to. Her attitude and personality replications are not making her distaste for it—any better either. He starts talking up game, completely ignoring her words and before he can continue his sentence, she fires a powerful punch into his face.

"I said, Move...!"

He falls to the ground, looking up at her in utter shock. Kozue, crumbles immediately. She realizes what she has done, immediately. Suddenly, that tough aura and attitude dissipates, in less than a second. Her hand begins to shake profusely, as she sickeningly looks down at the man below her. He's not direly hurt, but the fact she done that at all...she's destroyed. She never wanted to hurt anyone. While she's punched and kicked people with passion before, (I.E Kaoru and Retsu.) She's never reflexgually punched somebody like that, no less directly in the face. Not to mention, she's surrounded by onlookers. She looks down at her fist, slightly bruised at the knuckles. Tears start to form in her eyes as she backs up, croaking out little apologies and then quickly running off. She's horrified by herself.

If any fighter were there to see her punch that guy in his shit, they would've praised her for it. Because they would've seen, they would've understood, the pure unfiltered strength behind that hit. Kozue isn't particularly a physically strong individual, that's quite clear to anybody who's seen her. But for her to knock a man down with such a beautiful punch, with amazing form, and with so much fighting spirit behind it. It's incredible. Kozue, however, doesn't feel the same way.

She's not at all proud of what she did, shes scared by it. She's never liked to hurt people, matter of fact, she never ever wanted to in the first place. To know that she's able to lose herself like that, unload so much anger onto somebody without thinking, it scares her.

I just imagine her rushing to Baki's house, walking in with tears down her face, gripping her wrist. God, It's so cinematic to me, she sees Baki and she's like.

"Baki—I...I-I did something wrong."

Baki noticing the bruising of her fist, he immediately freaks the fuck out. I imagine he'd think somebody harmed her at first, but when he realizes she threw the punch herself, he almost can't believe it.

I could technically write a fic about this, not sure why I'm still typing away, this shits getting way too long.

I'll leave this off with a thought, imagine Baki gently wrapping up Kozue's hand with his signature bandages while she cries and rambles between breaths about the situation next to him. Pretty cute. I know. Thanks for making it to the end of my bullshit.
