One of the many things I love about Tarlos is I can totally see as a “my spouse is my best friend” kind of couple.

Nights where they’re just relaxing in bed or on the couch can turn into little gossip sessions, trading childhood stories, and giggling like besties having a sleepover 💕

stop don’t do this to me tarlos as best friends is one of my favourite things ever ever ever

it’s something i love that the show highlights (with grace and judd too!), that those in romantic relationships genuinely want to spend time with one another and enjoy each other’s company. there’s never any instance of them falling into the trap of those awful tropes, the “oh my partner annoys me” thing you see sometimes in media. none of that here! tk and carlos long to come home to each other and just talk and have nights in. they love their friends but they have their own secret language that only comes with being lovers/husbands/best friends/soulmates. they have inside jokes and share little looks and love to gossip and love hearing the other talk about little details from their day. they’re a package deal, they’re a competitive team on game nights, they love riling each other up, they love making each other laugh, they’d be happy just doing little mindless tasks in silence together because they’re each other’s favourite person!!!

We agree that when Carlos says “It’s not about your sexy time” that’s because the writers couldn’t make him say “It’s not about your blow job skills those are immaculate.” Right? Right.

And when TK says “No it’s about our sexy time” he’s really saying “It’s not about my blow job skills it’s about our sex life and intimacy and quality time lacking in a way that feels ominous to me” but really deep down it’s also a little bit about his blow job skills. Right?

“I slept with someone,” TK eventually says, and Carlos ignores the way the words feel like an arrow piercing through his heart. “I did a couple lines at some guy’s apartment, and then I let him fuck me, and it was- I don’t-” “TK, did he hurt you?” Carlos demands, nudging TK off him so he can meet his eyes. “No!” TK says firmly. “Nothing like that, Carlos. I promise. I would’ve told you.” Carlos exhales heavily, and pulls TK back against him. “Why do you want to go back in time, then?” “He didn’t do anything wrong,” TK says, and his voice is back to shaking. “He didn’t do anything I didn’t want. But afterward, after he fell asleep, I was laying there, and I just felt so..." he trails off, shaking his head. "I didn’t like how I felt about myself.” Carlos starts to rub his back. He wonders if kissing TK's hair is too much. The lines between friendship and more than friendship have felt blurrier lately, but now really doesn't feel like the time to see how blurry they truly are. “And then I started thinking about my mom, and what she would say if she could’ve seen me, high out of my mind, in some random dude’s bed, and I panicked,” TK mumbles. “So I just grabbed my stuff and got out of there.” “Shit!” TK exclaims, after a couple moments of silence. “What?” Carlos's own heart starts to speed up. “I forgot to leave a note,” TK says, his eyes wide. “What if he thinks I got abducted or something?” Carlos rolls his eyes. “I think he’ll live.”

Don't mind me 911 fans across the different fandoms, chiming in with my one-time thoughts:

The Tommy hate from Buddie fans is because they're mad Tommy "took the place of Eddie" -that never was, romantically and it has caused this thinly-veiled bitterness disguised by callouts of racism for shipping 2 white guys.

The Tarlos hate from Buddie fans is lack of media understanding and maybe (definitely) an underlayer of bitterness for a ship that was allowed to kiss on a primitime television show right out the gate, therefore it shows up in reasonings of this ship having "a lack of development" and obvious homophobic offenses such as, "not being manly" or "not straight-passing" (which also isn't even close to true), that in addition to being nasty attempts at insults as people shipping their own queer ship (fanon or not) amounts to the summation of thinly-veiled bitterness.

What physical and personality traits do you think TK loves about Carlos and vice versa?

omg i love this question so much :’))

physical traits: tk loves carlos’ biceps, his boobs, his hair especially when the curls are long enough to card through and grip, the little mole under his pec and behind his ear, his long legs and his flexibility, his strong hands, and of course his cow eyes. carlos loves tk’s arms, his tattoos, his thighs and his ass, the little pouch of his tummy and his happy trail, his slender hands and how they look when carlos holds them, his eyes especially when they’re extra green.

personality traits: i think across the board they love each other for their loyalty, compassion, and ability to extend grace. their humour, too—they each think they married the funniest man on the planet. i think they also love that the other’s allowed them to see the world around them differently. i think carlos loves tk’s huge heart and empathy, his fieriness, his love of animals and devotion to his friends and family and his resilience. i think tk loves carlos’ ability to listen (yapper/listener dynamic my beloved) and provide advice, his respect and how considerate he is, how Good he is and always tries to be, his dorkiness, his organization and how it actually brings a good balance to tk’s life. i think they love that they’re both protective and both want to care for each other and are compatible re: riling each other up (like….carlos loves when tk makes him a little exasperated ajdnsjsk). anyway this got rambly i think they just love each other a whole lot :-)
