#Monty deserves better

I am so very fond of Monty and Charles' relationship i made up in my head. 

I mean, imagine them sitting next to each other a bit awkwardly and Monty is apologizing for the wrong he did to Edwin, and swears that he didn’t know Esther would takes her revenge this far. 

Charles is suspicious, because he's still angry at him and he knows Edwin is too. Though, he's not here and isn’t it even stranger that the crow chooses to show up when his partner is not around, while his apology clearly should have been dedicated to him ? 

“But what if he still angry at me ? What if he never wants to forgive me or even hear what I have to say to him ? He was so kind and understanding with me. But now that he knows what I am, he has every right to be angry and repulse by me, right ?” Monty says, a bit desperate, and Charles got irritated because what he is, the complaint office ? 

“Why didn’t you try to stop the damn witch if you cares so much about him ? Why didn’t you try to change her mind ?” He snaps, the crow shuts up.

“ I couldn’t.” He finally says and something changes in Monty’s posture as if lead had fallen on his back. He shows guilt and something else Charles identified as nervousness. “she would have yelled at me.” 

“ Oh wow, the boy you pretend to care about was about to be tortured to death and you couldn't do anything because you were going to get yelled at?” Charles scoffs, still very bitter by this part of the story.

But Monty’s shoulders fall and he adds. “ She wouldn't just yell.”  In a whisper. “ it’s never just yelling.”

And maybe it’s the posture, maybe it’s the silences or the gloomy eyes, but Charles gets what is the meaning of never just yelling. He gets it even too quickly for his own good.

“She was hurting you.” Charles says, as if he were piecing together a part of the puzzle. 

Monty seems shocked, by the words or by the unexpected compassion he could hear in them. And he want to defend Esther because he made her sound so evil, and she wasn’t that bad with him, but all he can do is looking at the floor. 

“ If you disobeyed she would hurt you isn’t. It’s why you didn't say anything to her…or to Edwin ?” Charles adds, and talking to him is suddenly more intimidating than facing Edwin. 

Monty shook his head. 

“ I told you, I didn’t said anything because I didn't know the full plan." It's all he wants to say but for some reason, he continues "She just wanted me to be useful. To do things right— so I could make her proud.” 

Charles looks at Monty like he knows, like he understands everything there is to know in these words. He is not forgiving, still resentful but there is now a thin line than could connect them and it’s a step towards appeasement. 

And maybe Charles places a hand on Monty shoulder, maybe other details are share, others dialogues like : " you don’t have to put up with it anymore." "You free from her." "It’ll be alright now." 

And maybe there is some tears, and some pats on the back. 

But at the end, since he's the sinews of war — at least for Charles— he says : 

“ you should go talk to Edwin.”

Regulus sneaks off to the Potters to give Sirius a secret Christmas gift and gets caught by Sirius and James who convince him to stay a bit longer, and every time Regulus is like, "I have to go" and Sirius is like, "It's Christmas Reg, cmon just a little longer, you can say that I dragged you here against your will or whatever, just stay a little for a bit longer." And Regulus, being loki helpless against his older brother, just agrees. And he begins to bond with everyone.

Eventually, Regulus accidentally stays the rest of the day and when he gets ready to finally leave, Effie is like, "Would you like to stay the night? It's quite late" and Monty just straight up says, "Would you like to stay forever?"

And that's how Regulus ran away. (Accidentally)

1) In July 1976, he came to the Potters through their floo together with unconscious Sirius. He left again before Effie and Monty came.

2) After his brother got away from home, he continued to secretly check on him.

I just want to acknowledge how well-crafted dead boy detectives is, in terms of how each shot is framed and colored. it's such a visually satisfying show, and as an artist i am feral about at least one frame in every single scene. i could go on for paragraphs about the execution of this but i'll just grab a few frames for examples, because. it's so good. (not super crisp images, sorry about that. best i can do with taking screenshots directly from netflix.)

this is obviously nowhere close to all of the frames i'm obsessed with, but it goes to show how much thought was clearly put into blocking and coloring!!! each scene has a color scheme or a theme, and the characters are very often dressed in a complementary way. (Maren's dark outfit, when we see her in episode 5, looks very good with her yellow and maroon front porch, for example.) there's a lot of orange/blue contrast, or brown/green, and altogether every scene has shadow and highlight, and isn't afraid of either one. (respect.)

it's just so refreshing to have such a gorgeous show to enjoy. everyone who worked on the framing and lighting in this show knew very well what they were doing, and I hope we get a second season so they can keep doing it!!!

TSAMS/LAES THEORY/PREDICTION TIME!

Okay, so since Creator is now a rezurrected dark star entity, I have a few theories on what could happen next...

Theory 1# Calm before the storm

Solar goes to Sun and Moon probably still covered in blood with a giant smile on his face and tells them "I killed Creator!" And of course Sun and Moon are shocked and maybe horrified but immediately get over it and start celebrating that the man who caused them so much torture is dead. Sun, Moon, and Solar probably throw a party celebrating his death and eventually Earth finds out and she's probably gonna be conflicted cause he was a terrible, awful, downright evil human being but he was still her dad. She'd probably be sad that her dad is dead but Sun and or Monty will comfort her

Then I think Monty will propose to Earth cause in the episode Solar snaps, he mentions a surprise for Earth. Now I know it could be something completely different, and this would be some interesting timing to propose considering everything that's gone down, but I can see it. Earth might say yes or she might say not now

(Not No, just not yet)

The point is that there will be a few months of peace for the family. A huge weight will be lifted off their shoulders cause they all think Creator is dead. Sun will feel relief that that monster is gone and might even try looking for someone cause Sun mentioned he wanted to but was afraid that something might happen to them so with Creator being 'dead' Sun will feel a little bit safer to start dating and might actually find love. Moon will still be Moon, but probably a lot happier since his Creator is dead, Earth will be a little sad but will eventually understand that Creator HAD to be killed and if she says yes to Monty her and him will have a lot more stuff to worry about wedding and all. And Solar will probably feel like he's on cloud 9 since now his family is safe... or at least he thinks.

After a few months (maybe 2 or 3), right at Earth and Monty's wedding, probably at the most dramatic part of the wedding, Creator and Rez will show up.

Creator will probably walk in slow clapping and laughing and attack the wedding. Everyone will be shocked and horrified, especially Solar cause he saw him die! He killed him himself! A huge fight will break out and this might result in a death or two

*Cough!* Monty!*Cough!*Maybe Jack or Solar! *Cough!* Maybe one of the Astrals, too! *Cough!*

(Monty, Solar, Jack, please don't die.)

This is so evil, but I genuinely feel like this is something he would do. Let his kids think they're safe and then attack at the happiest points of their lives.

Theory 2# Into the storm

Creator wastes no time and attacks Sun, Moon, and Solar at the house immediately after Solar tells Sun and Moon he killed Creator. He's like "Are you sure about that?!"

Creator nearly kills Solar, but Sun or Jack attacks him. Saving Solar, but if it's Jack that saves him, Jack probably gets infected with more negative starpower, which will probably corrupt Jack and turn him into Dark Jack, and then since Creator failed to kill Solar he'll decide to go after Earth. He will confront Earth and Monty and while Monty is busy dealing with Dark Jack, Creator will basically give Earth a choice to come with him or die and Earth will basically tell Creator everything she's had on her mind and tell him to get lost and that's she's not afraid of him. Creator will then probably corrupt Earth cause of the negative starpower residue in her and turn her into Dark Earth or Kepler or whatever the heck he'd call her. And then dip. This will lead to Creator building an army to try and betray Cetus so he can become a god like how he wanted whil Sun, Moon, Monty, Solar, Lunar, and The Astrals will work together to find a way to save Jack and Earth and stop Ivanoff. (<- Still getting used to the fact that that's his last name)

But hey, this is just a theory....
