Day 3 of 5 day workout week:
It’s Hump Day on the busiest week of the summer and things are getting done! Boxes are getting packed for college. Summer writing assignments are getting going for Junior year in HS. My dog has no idea what the hell is going on. And, I somehow managed to sneak in another hour of fitness for myself! We’re making it happen, people! 👊🏽
-Strength training was total body and it was a bit streamlined. My range was 5-12 pounds and I kept it simple and efficient. No mat work or bells and whistles! Just focused on the agenda.
-Since I was short on time today, I just went with a low-impact HIIT workout with rounds of random intervals of cardio. I mostly went with no equipment. But, I did use a 6 lb medicine ball for a segment.
Total calorie burn = 408 kcals 💫
Today was tricky! But, so far, I’m 3 for 3! Not bad for what I’m dealing with. We shall see how it pans out tomorrow. No pressure! 🙏🏽

the fact that the today show took a story about an average sized woman creating a workout trend that prioritizes movement and feeling good over losing weight and made it about a celebrity fitness instructor's "sculpting" workout course is like cartoon villain levels of fatphobia

my normal gym membership is mostly supplemental at this point and with my sleep schedule issues i'm continuously tempted to just get a stationary bike or something and not be bothered with it. but it seems like something you need to go higher-end with to not get a piece of junk. but who knows anymore. so much stuff is just junk now even when you spring for the "better quality" version of it so...

It’s supposed to be that exercise is an unpleasant chore that makes you feel great for the rest of the day afterwards. Unfortunately for me I feel fucking spectacular while swimming, so energized, like I could go for hours, genuinely enjoying myself, might as well tack on an extra 10, 20, 30 minutes to my session if I have time, and then the rest of the day I feel so catastrophically dangerously miserable I have to keep an eye on my mood and actions like im a live tiger in a circus train car with the world’s flimsiest lock. This is because, I’m certain, I’m the most literally cursed and put upon human being that ever walked the earth and nothing will ever ever be easy for me no matter what. And the chlorine is giving me an angry red rash all over my face which ppl love to stare at instead of looking me in the eyes when we talk which is also nice

been doing more home workouts and im feeling good! i can do more than 10 kneeling pushups and might switch over to full pushups soon once my arm strength is built back up. situps are easy(er) as usual i just cant do an absurd amount in one sitting like i could a year ago lol, 30 at a time should do if i dont want my core to be screaming in pain lmao. only area that retained (most) of its strength are my legs (thanks genetics!) so i can do squats for days and the first thing to get sore would be my feet from all the standing

Day 2 of 5 day workout week:
Today was a cardio day! I’ve been building my own workouts lately using functional training components, so I decided to work on a low-impact cardio workout. I labeled it as “mixed cardio” because some of the segments had a HIIT quality to them and some rounds were more steady state. Overall, I was quite happy with the calorie burn! ☺️
-The cardio routine was about 49 minutes of low-impact, compound exercises. Some rounds had no equipment, some rounds used a 6 lb med ball, and some rounds used 3 lb weights. I then added weighted abs/core and ended with a cooldown/stretch.
Total calorie burn = 401 kcals 🥳
That’s 2 for 2 on really fun days in the gym this week! Let’s see what we can get pumping for Hump Day! 🤔
