I know it is trying to be emotionally resonate and the flute is pretty but...#It really does have the energy of “Okay thanks for listening to my tragedies and traumas. I don't know how to segue out of this.”#This madam lan design is inspired by Qourmet's design! Really good stuff that I was not able to do more with in this one panel.#Speaking of...I know it is ambiguous on purpose and we are only told what happened through LXC's POV but...#I always interpreted madam lan's passing as a suicide. I think LXC was told it was illness to soften the blow.#She was stuck in a house with maybe a servant coming by to give her food. One day a month she saw her children.#Of course she was warm and loving in their memories-#She was trying to give them a version of her that would be remembered as such. She wanted to protect them from the truth.#She did her best but she was already dead a long time ago. She must have felt like a ghost haunting a house.#Love to her was waiting. And both her boys inherited that view of love.

One of the only things I'll say negatively about leverage is how they handled parkers Thing in the French connection job. She spends the whole episode talking about how she wants something to enjoy OUTSIDE of the life like eliot has cooking, hardison has gaming, and sophie has theater but then her thing ends up being art which like. Is fine. We know she loves art and shiny things, but the clear answer is music.

She did not stop dead in her tracks in the middle of a con, losing track of time and what she is doing TWICE because she heard her boys performing music, for you to say that music doesn't make her feel things.

She got CAUGHT in the scheherazade job bc she was so enamored with hardisons playing. She was completely caught off guard when they came in the room which is fucking unheard of for her. Don't tell me music doesn't make her Feel Things.

One of the funniest parts about the whole “Leo not giving Draxum any grace” idea is that Draxum is one of the ONLY notable older men in the show that Leo isn’t willing to give a proper second chance to OR really hear out in the first place.

Leo notably does his best to do good in Tim’s eyes #apologizing earnestly to Tim even when it’s not his fault even #and this is another older man Leo refers to as a surrogate father #Leo also quickly falls for the evil hair Yokai Masseur’s lies despite the bad vibes he got #Leo also was the main one who went easy on Bullhop #and let’s not forget Señor Hueso and Leo’s strong attachment to him despite Hueso’s consistent insults and annoyance #like even WARREN gets Leo’s sympathy and assistance when they all helped him get Hypno back #you can even argue that Leo WAS willing to hear Draxum out when they first met #and Leo assumed Draxum was surrendering before the whole ‘BARON DRAXUM DOES NOT SURRENDER’ thing #hell he’s not even antagonistic really to Draxum he just doesn’t really like him #he’ll listen to his advice if necessary #anyway this being a fairly consistent character trait of Leo’s is funny to me #it’s always specifically older men too - Big Mama does NOT get anything but immediate suspicion #not all of them but most of the ones Leo has specific interactions with are like this #I’m just saying!!! Splinter I love you dearly but your boys have Issues™️#anyway each of the boys has something like this going on #Leo’s are just weirdly consistent and happen a lot for a two season show

I barely know these people” Panikkar that in a couple years he’s going to be just as ride-or-die as the rest of the A shift, and he’ll be out there risking domestic terrorism charges for Chimney? I know that man did not want to get sucked into the horrors of the 118 A shift but alas, he’s stuck with them forever now. He tried his hardest to escape their crazy, and now he’s out here risking criminal charges with the best of them.

i wanna just say, Chip’s character is even more tragic on the rewatch because now you know (partially) what led up to this. you know how he bartered violence for love after he lost everything. you know how deeply he loves the people around him, and just how scared he is not only of losing them but of letting them see who he is. they make it very clear from the beginning that Chip’s background is the haunted one. he clings to his past like it’ll save him, but the tighter he holds on the more lost he becomes. we don’t even know what happened to him in the hole in the sea, and he doesn’t either. idk man it’s just really sad.
