I’m low on hope today. If you’re a goyim (ie non-Jewish) leftist of any religion or lack thereof, and you stand up to antisemitism, interact with this. I literally don’t believe anyone actually cares about us at all.
Jews DNI.
I genuinely want to see if any goyim who are loudly decrying all other forms of hatred are willing to be the ones to spread this message.
And this isn’t a “if you have a heart, you’ll reblog this” point scoring thing I’m trying to get. I am actually truly feeling like most people don’t have the balls to share this. Most people hate Jews this much.

at this point when I read free palestine or see a watermelon emoji in someone's bio I go "are you free palestine as in innocent gazan civilians don't deserve to be massacred and peace is the solution to the conflict or are you free palestine as in hamas are freedom fighters and the solution is getting rid of the isnotrealis". I wish I had the power to instantly know which one it is so I know whether I'm looking at a person who wants me dead or not.

/// goyim can reblog/like, but don't add anything. this is a vent post, might delete later. I'm gonna mute notifs on this post. other jewish people, if you have something to add: feel free, but I probs won't see it. I trust that people won't get into fights in the replies/reblogs
I'm really not liking this current trend of goyim feeling like they get the right to use our pain and trauma. From Holocaust inversion, to doubting statistics on the increase of antisemitism, to doubting us when we say that something is antisemitic ... what gave you the right? We're never believed when something bad happens to us. It's always the exact same people who are ostensibly against antisemitism who end up perpetuating dogwhistles and antisemitic attitudes.

so i want to talk about why i respond to hate messages, especially antisemitic ones:
antisemites used to say the nasty shit in private, where you had no proof to bring against them. i’ve had SO many experiences like that in person. SO MANY. even now i hear people say in person and on this website “people don’t say that anymore,” etc.
well they do and now i have the proof.
that’s just one of many reasons. to you, deleting may seem like the best choice. that’s valid. i’ve done that before.
however, i think the disgusting jew hate needs to be seen and made fun of. i enjoy mocking it. i also want to show other jews that you can stand up to it and say something and who cares?
i also want to talk about it. because i’m not here for antisemites or even for non jews. i’m here for jews. and i’m here to try to at least tell other jews what’s bullshit and what isn’t.
i haven’t just been here since the start of the war. i’ve been in jewish zionist spaces online and in person since i was 14. i’ve tried all the methods, including ignoring and deleting, and this is what i want to do right now.
so yes, i respond and i argue and i meme. and that’s valid because it’s what i want to do. however you handle hate is valid too.

very minor jewish struggle of this day and age:
the desire to write fic but the fear of being attacked online for being jewish and, y'know, believing in jewish safety
i have so many ideas in my head right now but after someone came into my inbox on like october 8th furious at me for having "no humanity" i'm like maybe actively contributing to fandom right now is not good.

Use the entire word. Zionist.
“Zio” is a slur which was created by David Duke, the grand high wizard of the KKK. It is explicitly antisemitic in nature and a lot of well meaning people on the left have been using it without realising it is a slur.
Just use the word zionist, don’t tweak with it and start feeding into terms created by the far right
Do not let your advocacy turn into antisemitism
It doesn’t help Palestinians in any way and alienates anti zionist Jews

I wrote a very salty monologue about antisemitism and the idea of a ‘good Jew’ if you want to read it it’s under the cut. Bigots dni
I’m a Good Jew
I’m a good Jew. I’m broke, so I can’t control the banks. I’m so broke that I can’t put a menorah in my window because I can’t afford to fix the window.
Im a good Jew. I tell kids to ask Santa for gifts. I don’t have any decorations on my house, and I take out the Hanukkah bush when non-Jewish guests come over.
I’m a good Jew. I go to my brother in law’s Christmas party where every year without fail his mother brings a casserole that she swears doesn’t have bacon in it. It always does.
I’m a good Jew, yet people still laugh at my nose. They tell me I shouldn’t speak Yiddish because I sound like a bad Jew. They make me explain my stance on conflicts I wasn’t even alive to witness the beginning of.
I’m tired of being a good Jew, because it means nothing. There’s still a swastika on the wall of my synagogue. There’s still death threats in my DM’s. You praise me for looking, sounding, and acting like a “good Jew”, but it’s obvious you still think the only good Jew is a dead Jew.

I won't name names, but I want my Jewish friends and followers to know y'all can follow me and interact with me safely. Ever since the October 7th attack on Israel, I've been seeing a LOT of antisemitism lately (and it's so much more than what I normally see), mostly under the guise of anti-Zionism. But if you're Jewish and/or Israeli, you are free to follow me. You can send me anons if you want. You are also free to reblog my posts and comment on them. And send me DMs (provided I'm already following you, ofc). I will NOT harass you, send you anon hate or death threats etc, just for being Jewish/Israeli. Nor will I encourage my followers to do the same. Hell, I won't do anything like that, even if you are neither because it's a really shitty thing to do, anyway.
If you're antisemitic and/or anti-Zionist, however, I'd rather you leave my Jewish friends/followers and I the hell alone. I'm not Jewish or Israeli myself, but antisemitism is wrong and I will not hesitate to block, unfollow and report people if I see them posting antisemitic content. Criticise Israel all you want where they're wrong. No one is perfect or above criticism. But Israel does have a right to exist and defend itself, as do the Jewish people. As does everyone else. And antisemitism will NOT be tolerated, as far as I'm concerned.

when it comes to this “kahanism” shit, i have some shit to say that most of you won’t like. and no, i do not support meir kahane.
i’ve been in zionist spaces for a good 17+ years now. since i was a young teenager and even before then. i have degrees in jewish studies and studied the history of zionism and jewish political movements. we never called meir kahane’s movement “kahanism” at university. yes, terms change over time, but:
the only time “kahanism” has really popped up was when i did personal research. it always appeared on pro palestine websites and in pro hamas literature especially.
it still does on sources like mideast eye and electronic intifada:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and of course that shitshow haaretz. what does all of this say? nothing good.
i firmly believe that this concept of “kahanism” is a means of trying to equate american politics to israeli politics. and yes, this is done by both diaspora and israeli jews who happen to be more ultra leftist. (btw i am a left leaning moderate so get off my dick.)
the israeli right wing is very different from the american right wing and was formed for different reasons and in different historical contexts. i hate to say this, but not everyone reacts to centuries of oppression, colonization, forced expulsions, and genocide mainly by two groups (christians and muslims) by wanting to give peace a chance.
do i agree? no. but i empathize regardless and i think that’s important. i see so much empathy for palestinians, who are descended from colonizers and oppressors, whose entire political backstory is rooted in jew hate, but very little for us, even amongst ourselves. it’s like sometimes, we hold ourselves to an impossible standard. we are traumatized and that is valid. is hatred? no. but is mistrust? once again i hate to say it, but yes. especially when one group has systemically targeted you and murdered you not just for decades, but longer.
once again: do i agree? no. but i empathize and i think through empathy, things can change.
are there other issues? of course. but boiling it all down to meir kahane, the kach party, and kahane chai and lumping it all together? is unfair. the israeli right wing is varied in its views and platforms. some would absolutely abhor kahane.
also, how many people in diaspora throwing these terms around actually know how the political system works in israel?
not only that, but i do not see islamism discussed with the same sense of disgust and horror. thing is, islamism is different because it is formed by the oppressors and colonizers of that region, but it is much worse. a much bigger threat. (islamism is not islam btw and not every palestinian is horrible. i am talking about leadership and the systems in place for palestinians that teach many of them to hate and want a “free Palestine” from water to water.)
bringing up “kahanism” and accusing people you disagree with of being this weird made up “kahanist” is divisive and wrong. it’s false equivalence to the american right wing. it does nothing to help or heal.
it’s like calling everyone you disagree with a racist or a fascist. it just shuts people up. it does nothing but manipulate the conversation.
stop it with this shit. we don’t need anymore division.
for diaspora jews: stop judging other countries and regions through your own biased lens.
go ahead and cancel me again 😂 i don’t really care.
