Now, this pairing has a special place in my heart. Samurai was the first series I watched, all the way back when I was eleven, and Jayden and Antonio's dynamic is what first hooked me on Power Rangers. It was the first thing I really ever shipped before I even knew what shipping was. (Antonio, is that you? Believe it baby, I'm back! Still think you can take me?) It, more than any other ship in Power Rangers, feels the most canon (even more than actual canon ones). It DEFINES Samurai. It is possibly the one thing that canon Samurai does right.

When Mike came to Kevin about his feelings, Kevin had initially thought it was a joke. Kevin doesn't get people asking him out. Kevin has never been that person. Kevin's never been the person who had people wanting him. In fact, due to his dedication to his studies and loyalty to the samurai code, even if someone had shown interest, Kevin wouldn't have bothered even trying to reciprocate.

Kevin had built his walls high and made them impenetrable. Mike, though, Kevin hadn't expected Mike. He doesn't think anyone could've expected Mike, just like no one could've expected Antonio.

And when Mike finally did worm his way past Kevin's walls, nestling deep inside his heart - further than the others of his team, for sure - Kevin was actually kind of scared. Mike hadn't followed the samurai code, Mike had taken multiple lovers in his years. The Green Ranger hadn't cared who he fucked, as long as he was getting laid. Mike is so experienced with love and sex, and Kevin? Kevin hasn't ever thought of having sex with someone. He'd been told as a kid that his marriage would be planned out according to the tribunal's wishes. The former Samurai Rangers where very clear about that, even Kevin's own father.

Now, though...

"May I kiss you?" Mike asks, running his thumbs over Kevin's cheek bones. Mike's been here for a few hours, checking on Kevin after their fight today almost ended very badly for Kevin. "Is that okay?" Mike sounds like he's reassuring himself, like he's trying to remind himself that Kevin's alive.

Kevin hesitates. He doesn't want this to be bad. He and Mike have never kissed before. Kevin's been nervous about it forever. He loves Mike, adores him even. He wants this to be good for both of them.

And yet, it's still the best kiss he's ever had in his life. So is the next one and the next one and the next.

The first issue of Power Rangers Prime has really got my wheels turning.

Largely in wondering what the implications of this set up would be for various ranger teams.

More specifically, how could I make some prime (lol) Jaytonio angst from this?

I don't believe in soul mates but damn if Jayden Shiba and Antonio Garcia make me reconsider I mean JESUS. Every trope in the book. Long lost childhood friends. Antonio (bright, flamboyant, pun-making, devastatingly brilliant) promises his best friend Jayden (lonely, isolated not-quite-heir in the tower convinced his life will only ever amount to him sacrificing it to lead a team and save the world) that he will become the first Samurai Ranger not from one of the Samurai bloodlines in history and then HE DOES THE STRAIGHT UP IMPOSSIBLE JUST BECAUSE HE PROMISED HE WOULD. He shows back up and we get the first genuine smile from Jayden in the whole show (first relief we see, first glimpse at him without the world on his shoulders). Then Antonio drops the iconic "believe it baby, I'm back" and they spar and Jayden says "still think you can take me" and it's the most tension nickelodeon has ever shown in its entire existence and I am 11 when this show aired with no idea that gay people existed and my parents had just gotten divorced so when I tell you that these two convinced me that love existed, you've gotta understand the IMPACT they had-

Hello! Tell us about your Power Ranger oc, Alejandro?

I will gladly tell you my friend

My power rangers OC Alejandro Garcia-shiba is the son of Jayden shiba and Antonio garcia he has a surrogate mother who is unknown and loves his dad's. Although after the incident that happened when he was 6 his parents became incredibly overprotective especially when it came to his powers. Alejandro loves to read and sketch. He especially loves to read mystery novels and fantasy stories. He also loves to sketch ideas for his inventions.

Although he truly doesn't love one parent more than the other he does prefer to be around Jayden more cause he is quieter but also does love to spend time with Antonio talking and helping is papa with his own inventions.

Alejandro calls Antonio Papa and Jayden papi. He will sometimes call Jayden Otōsan which is Dad is Japanese.

Alejandros closets friends are Kai and Aspen and since he is very quiet he isn't close to the rest of the crystal rangers but he does consider them friends.

Alejandro also loves stuffed animals in his bed as a giant stuffed lion on it and loves cuddling with it.

Alejandro has been friends with Kai and Aspen since he was a kid and the trio are as thick as thieves
