Hundreds protest in the Netherlands against arms supplies to Israel

A protest against arms supplies to Israel erupted at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands.

Hundreds of people came out to demonstrate in solidarity with Palestine. The protest started at the airport on Tuesday, later continuing outside despite unfavourable weather conditions.

Demonstrators carrying Palestinian flags also protested against European Union and US politicians who support Israel. The protest included calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, slogans “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”.

Max van den Berg, a 31-year-old Dutch protester, called for an end to the Israeli bombing of Gaza. He stated that there would be no peace without justice. Max spoke out against the Dutch government’s support for Tel Aviv:

“End the genocide and occupation.”

Cuts to the IRS dramatically decreases revenue to the government by letting rich tax cheats get away with not paying their share. Cutting revenues won't "pay for" anything.

This doesn't even get into why refusing to pay for aid to Ukraine is a terrible idea, which it is, or the ethical issues with what's going on in Gaza. There is nothing good about this bill.

We were displaced to Rafah in a tent that could not accommodate 5 people, and after the displacement from Rafah, we were displaced to Mawasi Khan Yunis again. It was a very difficult period... but now we are in Mawasi Khan Yunis in a tent that does not protect us from the cold of winter or the heat of summer.😞😭

This is our tent, its floor is made of cardboard, as you can see, and I suffer from severe eczema due to the pollution of the air and the materials used, and the medicine is very expensive.😭💔

Urgent: My husband needs a very necessary operation and medication. Please help my husband in order for his health to improve. He is in pain.😞😭🫂🙏🙏

Finally!!!

Last night, the House of Representatives finally, after much game-playing and many shenanigans by the likes of Margie Greene and her cohorts, passed the aid bills to fund aid to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan.  The vote for the Ukraine package was 311 to 112, with all those objecting coming from the most conservative wing of the Republican Party.  The Senate is expected to pass the measures early…

House of Representatives failed to pass a separate bill on aid to Israel

The US House of Representatives on Tuesday rejected a Republican-led bill that would provide $17.6 billion to Israel.

The vote passed 250 to 180. With 166 Democrats and 14 Republicans opposed, falling short of the two-thirds majority needed to pass the bill.

Many who voted against the bill both called for greater protection of human rights in the region and cited Israel’s ongoing offensive against the Gaza Strip.

Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson said on Sunday that the bill is “even worse than we expected” and “if this bill gets to the House, it will be dead on arrival.”

Major update on Nour’s condition

First, I want to thank you all so much for your incredible generosity. Because of you, we were able to raise $4,000 USD in just 2 full days. I cannot put into words how remarkable this is. When we received word of the refund, that we lost more than $3000, Nour’s family and I were completely without hope. But you all accomplished the impossible.

It is only because of what you accomplished that I now believe we can meet our next goal.

Nour was able to undergo surgery. It was long and extremely difficult for the doctors. The surgery was ultimately successful. However, Nour’s condition is not resolved. The immediate danger has been met, but now Nour requires a new medication and diet to survive.

This medication will cost $2000 USD every week. Her new diet requires she consume 2 eggs a day, so 14 every week. As of right now, the average cost of eggs in Gaza is $8 USD. 2000 + (14 x 8) = $2,112 USD a week
