Maha @mahafamily1 and her family have been repeatedly displaced after their home was destroyed. Then last week, their new tent was destroyed by another IOF attack. Maha was able to find an image of their tent after the bombing. This is all that remains: a crater and rubble.

The cost of the tent is $2000 USD. Currently, their campaign is at €12,724 (about $13,188), which means their new temporary goal is €14,724 (about $15,264)

This does NOT include the $500 weekly treatments for Joan. We have posted here about Maha’s daughter, 6-year-old Joan Al-Habil, and her medical issues.

Please help Maha’s family get a new tent so they are protected from the elements! Exposure to cold weather and an inability to rest is making little Joan’s medical condition worse!!

The following is a list of resources that includes books, articles, websites, and nonprofits to help you get educated and/or involved in action pertaining to the Palestinian genocide. I originally compiled this list for personal purposes, to use in my own local communities. Since it's been an unbelievably grim and never-ending shit-show on the blog for the past 5 weeks, I now feel compelled to make this list public on here in the hopes that it might benefit someone.

Please be aware:

This post is NOT an invitation for you to treat me as your token Palestinian friend, personal educator, or woke police taskforce. Grow your own moral spine.

This list was originally compiled shortly after October 7. It has, as of the writing of this post, been 163 days. A LOT has happened since. Therefore, this list is not exhaustive.

New ways to get educated and involve have since materialized, and, indeed, new ones materialize everyday. Do your own due diligence and decide what shape your engagement is going to take.

I am using my own specific expertise and skill sets as a scholar and educator of Literature and Philosophy to populate this list. Therefore, naturally, a lot of what you will find on here is geared towards educating and raising awareness about the historical, socio-political, philosophical and cultural underpinnings of this genocide and how its reflected in art.

CRITICAL EMERGENCY!!! 15 y/o girl needs heart surgery!!!!

Earlier this month, we made a post asking for your support in attaining 15 year-old Nour’s monthly treatment for her congenital heart condition. Unfortunately, the funds raised came too late. Nour’s health took a dramatic downturn yesterday, and the doctor said that because she had gone so long between monthly treatments, several of Nour’s heart valves have closed up. She now requires an urgent operation to save her heart.

NOUR WILL DIE WITHOUT THIS SURGERY!! She is dying right now because her heart is struggling to function! She needs this surgery IMMEDIATELY to save her young life!!

The doctor said the surgery will cost $8000 USD. Nour’s family’s GFM is in Canadian dollars, or CAD, of which the conversion rate to USD is $1 USD=$1.41 CAD. This means we need $11,300 CAD in donations in order to pay the equivalent of $8000 USD for her surgery.

We NEED to raise the funds ASAP so Nour has a chance at survival!! We are breaking this sum up into 2 smaller goals to be more attainable. Our first goal to save Nour’s life is to raise $4000 USD/$5656 CAD.

Do you not find it weird when the CoD fandom posts about Palestine only to immediately go back to woobifying war criminals? Even if it is just fictional characters, the voice actors they all drool over have publicly spoken out about their support for Israel too, and that goes ignored by the fandom. It all feels so disingenuous and performative.

i don't really engage with the cod fandom anymore so i'm not one to speak on what's happening in it now, but tbh i think you're expecting a little too much from a fandom that, at it's core, is centered around military propaganda. while i understand feeling like someone's actions are performative, posting and sharing information about what's happening in gaza is the bare minimum that palestinians are asking us for. if someone's sharing posts or resources that helps bring awareness to the current genocide, i think that should be considered a good thing.

I worked as an accountant in a company, but with the escalation of the war, my professional life came to a halt, and the goods warehouse was burnt, along with my completely destroyed home. We fled to the north, but now we live in the tents of the displaced in Deir al-Balah.
