Some highlights: LA overfunds police multiple times over their Fire Dept to which they had cut funding. A sizeable number of Altadena residents never saw any firefighters or trucks responding. Altadena has lost a majority of its Historically Black community & infrastructure. BIPOC who are disproportionately affected by asthma need access to inhalers, translators, and shielding from ICE. Conversation about homeowners excludes renters without insurance. People need support to rebuild their lives & futures on their own terms in the wake of insurance companies dropping coverage & corporations vying to swoop in and colonize entire neighborhoods. Community organizing beyond reactivity starts with each of us!

My second ever quilt is complete and finally on my bed. Took 138 days. All done by hand. I'm really happy with it and so glad I got to show it to my grandmother for Christmas (as she's the one who inspired me to get into quilts). Some of the embroidery on the back doesn't show up great in the photo but I'm really proud of that too.

"Charged with" means that police can arrest anyone brown and get them deported without due process. Just getting arrested for any reason no matter how bullshit is enough.

The states suing the Feds part is expensive and dangerous.

This is scary police state stuff.

It is going to the Senate now.

Please contact your senate critters.

For Democrats, I suggest targeting the racial profiling/due process angle and the sue the Feds if any immigrant does a crime ever angle., but you know your critters better than I do, so if you can tailor to their interests, do.

I have started listing my collection of signed books, rare editions, and other treasures on ebay. My husband lost his job, and then my beloved cat SpyBoy became very ill. Seven vet visits, one hospital stay, and $8000 of vet bills later, we found out he had pancreatitis and diabetes.
