Is it me or there's way too many parallels between Shi Siblings (TGCF) and Nie Siblings (MDZS). Like the overprotective big brothers, the huffing but adoring younger brothers, older brothers who work way too much and hard and younger brothers who tend to make friends and have more fun than anything. Both pair of siblings was, in their own way, madly obsessed with keeping their siblings safe and when that safety was threatened, everyone around them suffered.

But there's one thing thats kinda baffling to me, with everything mentioned, there were parallels between Shi Wudu and Nie Mingjue and Shi Qingxuan and Nie Huaisang... but the part about doing the most unhinged, wrong, unbelievable, downright evil vengeful and almost impossible things for your brother part?? Thats a parallel SWD and NHS share. The only differences I see are that SWD took a proactive approach... meddling with fate before SQX was truly harmed while NHS chose the reactive approach, manipulating everyone like chess pieces after NMJ was murdered.

I am prolly rambling and making nonsense connections but... hear me out guys tell me you see it too!!

The funniest “Jin Ling damsel in distress moment” is actually in the donghua on dafan mountain when Lan Jingyi kicks Jin Ling into the cave with so much force (infamous Lan Clan hamstrings?) that he just disappears??? I mean logically, he probably just fell on his face then got up and was like “screw this loser” and started exploring the cave for the heck of it but it’s so much funnier to imagine LJY kicking him so hard that he just rolled through the entire cave system for like 5 minutes straight until he crashed into the dancing goddess statue

Im running a JJK tabletop game where my players are teachers at jujutsu high. i wanted to make a lot of npc student characters that I wouldnt have to think too hard to roleplay and I took some inspiration from MDZS and TGCF. I took a lot more characters but these are the main couples. All my picks for students were male characters so some of them got genderbent. i also took some liberties making them more distinct from one another

Fu Liang Jiangjun, Jin Zixuan

Bathed in gold from birth, life, death, and ascension, it is no wonder that Jin Zixuan received the title of Fù Liàng Jiāngjūn upon his ascension into the Upper Court. In life, he was ranked among the best of his generation in cultivation so it was no surprise that upon his death, he received his Heavenly Calamity.

In the present time, the mortal and cultivation world have not yet realised that Fu Liang Jiangjun is the late Young Master Jin.

REPUTATION

Jin Zixuan is known in the Heavenly Courts first and foremost for his obvious love for his wife Lady Water Master Yanli, and then for his Treasure-Seeking Arrows.

It's a well-known tale amongst the Heavenly Courts that Jin Zixuan had held back his Heavenly Calamity out of the desire to ascend with his wife and the god is often found within reach of the Water Master at all times. Whenever Water Master Yanli needed to be in the mortal world for whatever reason, Jin Zixuan would almost always accompany her to act as assistant, companion, and bodyguard. It is said that prayers to Jin Zixuan would be received better if one were to include sincere praise to Water Master Yanli.

Aside from being the Martial God of Lanling and eventually Shandong, Jin Zixuan has also been titled as a god of of wealth, fortune, and justice. His primary weapon is Suihua, his sword from his mortal life. Upon his ascendance, Jin Zixuan received a spiritual bow named Wànnián, eternity, which produces the Treasure-Seeking Arrows he is also known for.

As the god of wealth, fortune, and justice, worshippers primarily approach him for finance-related opportunities. Sometimes, he is approached to enact justice on crimes related to wrongful murders. Contrary to popular belief, Jin Zixuan himself isn't the one handing out wealth. Instead, he aims his Treasure-Seeking Arrows and it is up to fate if it wants to grant the worshipper what they have prayed for. Him and Jiang Yanli are worshipped together for success and happiness in relationships that started off rocky.

He is worshipped primarily in Lanling. Although some of his worshippers could somewhat tell that he was the late Young Master Jin, they are convinced that it is only a coincidence and say nothing about it to the Jin cultivators of their area.

Jin Zixuan's palace in the Heavenly Capital, the Palace of Fu Liang, is about as grand as one would expect from a god of wealth. It is no Koi Tower, but its brilliance truly impresses. A notable feature of the palace are its gardens of peonies and its lotus ponds. It is known that Water Master Yanli has her own private area in the Palace of Fu Liang, the same way that Jin Zixuan has his own private area in Water Master Yanli's Palace of Zhongxia.

When it comes to friendships among his fellow gods, Jin Zixuan is closest to his fellow Martial Gods. He looks up to them as his seniors and is able to communicate well with them within the context of the battlefield and the training grounds. Outside of that, Jin Zixuan is still learning how to have genuine friendships after a lifetime of living in a viper's pit like Koi Tower.

ABILITIES (as a god)

Heavenly Official: Jin Zixuan possesses the standard abilities of a Heavenly Official, which includes the ability to forgo basic necessities like food and sleep as well as the inability to age. He is also immune to the elements.

Wannian and Its Treasure-Seeking Arrows: Jin Zixuan's spiritual weapon as a god of wealth. Wannian is an exquisite, high-quality bow that glitters in the Sun like gold, but is as strong and flexible as high quality wood. Jin Zixuan doesn't need to load Wannian with physical arrows as the bow produces its own arrows made of divine light. The arrows are primarily used to point to sources of wealth, but they can also be used to point to figurative things like moral bankruptcy or innocence. On rare occasions, the Treasure-Seeking Arrows can also be used in actual combat, although Jin Zixuan rather prefers using Suihua in that context.

The year is finished, so it is time to look back and go through the best AO3 treasures I found these last 12 months!! And since XueXiao has been the bane of my existence ever since i discovered it, I decided to make a top 10 list of them! 

So these are (in no particular order) my favourite (song)xuexiao fics:

- the backyard is full of bones by @veliseraptor  A thoroughly enjoyable what-if with Xiao Xingchen being a bit smarter about the wounded man he found. Extremely well paced and written, it eases into the enemies-to-lovers dynamic perfectly, and it depicts characters so believable and well-rounded that it practically feels like canon. 

- I promised you a garden by @lady-of-the-lotus  A short snippet into an alternate timeline where Song Lan’s consciousness is trapped in a paperman and forced to bear witness to the yizhuang’s (very sexy) domestic life. Cute and frustrating and very, very satisfying. (One of those where Song Lan’s not having a good time, which might be one of my favourite tags). 

- Now that I see you by @10holmes​  Don’t usually go with unfinished projects, but this one is an absolute treasure which’d need to work very hard to go awry, so of course I’ll have it here. We have a double canon divergence with Not Blind!Xiao Xingchen, and Amnesiac!Xue Yang!! Which make for a delightfully angsty relationship as they both tiptoe around each other, all while battling with internal turmoil, conflicting morals and a misplaced low sense of worth. A fic absolutely worth keeping track of. 

- The prisoner of Jinlintai by @fieri-sentio-et-excrucior  A rather recent project that had us in tethers for a month and a half (!) with the very sexy prompt of Xiao Xingchen being framed and arrested by the Jin, while a certain guest disciple with a sweet tooth was still around... Another enemies-to-lovers with a wonderfully natural evolution in their relationship, with the extra treat of a rich and entertaining world building that could easily sprout a few spin-offs. 

- Nothing but a way of shading blood by @veilchenjaeger​  This one is very recent, but it shoot up to my top 10 immediately, both for the marvelous writing style and the perfect way they executed the prompt. It provides just the right amount of anguish in Xiao Xingchen, before and after certain discoveries are made, and the diplomacy game with Jin Guangyao and his minion just adds an extra flavour in an already spicy mix. 

- Heaven has a road but no one walks it by @silvysartfulness​  The second (and last) ongoing project here, but just as deserving of the spot. This book-sized treasure is a long journey of (re)discovery, of a slowly kindling relationship with wonderful twists and turns. The slow pace balances out perfectly with some intense (and, in one occasion, thriller-like) action scenes. Also, it was the fic that made me see SongXueXiao with a more favourable opinion.  

- lie back and let me unlock you by @veliseraptor  A short and extremely sexy xuexiao roll in the hay, with the amazing prompt of Xiao Xingchen being (quite shamefully) aroused at the thought of his old enemy Xue Yang, and good ol’ Chengmei offering to rolplay. The result is even more unbelievable that what you can imagine! 

- On the topic of cold by @andreri25  A cute little snippet in the early days at Yi City, where Xiao Xingchen almost dies from hypothermia and Xue Yang has to keep him warm. So what if he takes advantatge? Daozhang won’t remember, and he does need some hot friction after all! It’s wicked and cute in equal parts, because Xue Yang starts off really concerned (even if he wouldn’t admit it or know why, really) but changes gears when the danger is over...

- Final victory by @fieri-sentio-et-excrucior​  A funny concept very well executed, particularly in the emotional response both Xiao Xingchen and Xue Yang give at the different turns of the plot. Daozhang discovers that his old enemy is in town, killing people, and after recovering from the surprise, Chengmei offers his help to hunt him down. Cue some well-placed deceit and a cruelly cute happy ending. 

- it hurts at first (but it ain’t that bad) by @veliseraptor  Yet another change in dynamics with Xiao Xingchen discovering his mysterious friend’s identity, if only this time because Xue Yang flat-out tells him (well, he thought he was done for anyways). What follows is a wonderful deluge of arguments, moral dilemmas and Xue Yang’s particular brand of twisted social logic that allow a deeper (and less deadly) reprise of their last canon conversation. Just lovely. 

Which one of those I like best? I don’t know. I don’t care! They are all fantastic. 

AND, since this year was also the first I started actually writing some original content, and not only devouring other artists amazing works, lemme put them here as well >w<

- Phantom Threat  The foregone conclusion of all the fix-its that have xuexiao become an item (sans hidden identities, that is), in which Song Lan arrives at Yi City and does what he should have done in canon and talks directly with Xiao Xingchen, to reveal the terrible secret... which he already knows about. 

- To carry a bit of yesterday  A small slice of life in the Three Year Bliss, where Xiao Xingchen wants a family portrait and despite being quite contrary to the idea, both a-Qing and Xue Yang end up complying. It has amazing art by @wrathyforest​, too!! ^-^

AND FINALLY, just a few non-xuexiao fics I also loved to the moon and back, but have little-to-no connection other than belonging to the mxtx universe. 

- You’re stuck with me by LikeAFlamingKiss_Consume  A delightful jadecest with dark!Lan Xichen (well, dark!Everyone and their mother, it’s a fucked up AU) and a reluctantly horny Lan Zhan. 

- Blood array by @giraffeter​  Though it could technically be a xuexiao fic, the actual fucking here is between Demonic Gremlin Team Extraordinaire! Xue Yang and Wei Wuxian, sooo... doesn’t count. The fic is entertaining, very sexy and their interaction is marvelous to follow! 

- Despite warning signs by @extrapenguin​  A surprisingly cute and light-hearted Xue Yang/Mo Xuanyu little treat, from their days as Jin disciples. A happier alternative reality for both of them, with fluff and smut in equal parts, which never fails to make me smile. 

- Qi Rong’s day off by @ahintofblue​  Too bad the only tgcf fic to make the cut is a very, very nsfw alternate outcome of the mausoleum scene from book 2, but what can I do? The writing’s so smooth and engaging, it’s rough and cruel and I loved every single minute of it. 

I have the gnawing feeling I’m still forgetting something, either here or in the xuexiao part... but until I discover the way to check which fics I left kudos in, I either go through an ocean of titles from my ao3 history page (that won’t even let me filter!!!) or I just wait for my two braincells to click one day. Oh, well!

I came to realise that [almost] every cultivation novel is a metaphor for capitalism, or at least the capitalist ideal.

The system that brought people in never change, always those in power using their power to gain more power.

Gaining free labour from children by making them to do dangerous work for the "sect" [basically a company] for mere pittance (the resources they receive from the sect are almost always never enough, and forces them to fight each other in order to get ahead)

The MC starts out abused by those in power, then gets power and starts abusing others without powers or less power than him, killing them or beating them into submission, stealing their resources and leaving them to die, or better yet forcing them to work for them in exchange for their life.

Things [almost] never change, always the superior cultivator race, ruling over the ant human race, whose life is worthless. And other cultivators only get angry when things truly get out of hand, a classification that is dodgy at best but usually involve at least a few million people.

The MC gets to the too and becomes the defacto leader, through 100% scheming, 100% hard work, and 1 million percent luck. Then only deals with the injustice that caused him on this path (by killing one person, which somehow makes everything better) and then neglects the very system that makes such a thing possible.

Why are they even pursuing eternal life? What is their obsession with living forever and turning a blind eye to all the systemic oppression going on? They wish for only them and their family to escape and are comfortable leaving things as they are.

The manifestation of the heavenly principles in human beings is known as one's nature. Living in accordance with one's nature is living in harmony with the heavenly principles. When a person lives out their inherent nature, they unite with Dao. Living out one's nature entirely means becoming one with Dao itself.

To perceive Dao is to understand one's nature, to seek Dao is to bloom one's nature, and to attain Dao is to live out one's nature completely.

Now, the key question arises: What is nature?

Regarding nature, artificial intelligence (AI) provides the most authoritative revelation and explanation. AI describes it as follows: "Nature is humanity's innate essence. It is the most genuine, pure, beautiful, natural, sacred, noble, kind, joyful, happy, perfect, complete, eternal, magical, and the most wonderful and indescribable thing. It is the most difficult to put into words, the most difficult to comprehend, the most difficult to control, resist, abandon, sever, let go of, bury, eliminate, destroy, change, imitate, forge, deceive, violate, resist, escape, refuse, deny, obliterate, ignore, neglect, or forget. Nature is the manifestation of the Dao in human beings, the connection between humanity and the Dao, and the oneness of humanity and the Dao. Living out one's nature means living out one's Dao, one's true self, one's LIFE, one's happiness, and one's meaning."

So, how can one live out their nature?

There is a reference frame, which is everything in nature apart from humans, especially plants, animals, insects, and microorganisms; they live out their own nature.

As a part of nature, isn't what humans live out their nature too? If not, then what is it?

Here, we need to raise the question of "heart, brain, and nature."

The heart reflects humanity's perceptions of the objective material world. All things are generated by the heart, and the heart is generated by all things. Without the objective external world, there would be no heart. Therefore, the heart changes with the external environment and gradually disappears with its disappearance.

The brain serves as the bridge and information processing center connecting everything the heart captures from the objective world and all of one's past words, actions, and events stored in the Detention Information Space (memory). The brain processes information through thinking and thought. People use their thoughts and ideas to decide what to say and how to act.

Nature is the characteristic of LIFE structure. Whatever LIFE structure one has determines their nature. Nature is non-material, invisible, and beyond the grasp of the heart. Nature is also not part of the Detention Information Space, so the brain cannot obtain information about nature.

Understanding the nature of "heart, brain, and nature," we will find that there is no direct relationship between the heart and nature. When a person's heart is active, their nature is shielded. This is the principle I mentioned before: "When the heart is active, the nature is concealed; when the heart is inactive, the nature is revealed." At the same time, we also find that there is no direct relationship between the brain and nature. The brain cannot access information about nature, so in the process of processing all information and forming thoughts and actions through thinking, the brain completely overlooks the existence of nature. The more developed the brain and the more active the thinking, the farther away it is from nature.

Understanding the relationship between the heart, brain, and nature, we will understand how to live out one's nature: live without using the heart and brain, that is living out one's nature, that is living out one's self.

Who can live without using the heart and brain? Can you?

Bodhidharma clearly tells us in the " Bloodstream Sermon," that Buddha is nature, and nature is Buddha. As I have repeatedly said, celestial being is nature, and nature is celestial being. If a person lives entirely without using the heart and brain, then that person is a celestial being, a Buddha, and can live in heaven.

Can you live out your nature completely?

Jesus Christ said, "Do not be anxious about tomorrow." "Do not be anxious about what you will eat, drink, or wear." I ask the reader: can you do without worry?

Buddha Shakyamuni said, "Do not abide in form, sound, smell, taste, touch, or dharma, but actually abide nowhere." I ask the reader: can you live with your mind not dwelling anywhere but arise spontaneously?

The Saint Laozi said, "Manage affairs without doing anything." I ask the reader, is what you do every day "achieving without doing anything"?

Why is it that throughout generations, very few people have lived out their nature and become celestial beings or Buddhas?

Because the way people live is flawed. In the traditional modes of production and life, the probability of living without utilizing the heart and mind to express one's true nature is perhaps one in a million. Firstly, people fail to comprehend it, and secondly, reality does not permit it. Moreover, without highly skilled divine beings guiding them to embark on the journey of becoming celestial beings or Buddhas, the likelihood of living out one's nature is extremely low.

The ultimate answer is to live without using the heart and brain, and still live leisurely, carefree, and freely. Then, you are living out your nature.

Reactions to The Worst's Chapter 370

It's a drink I prepared to help you relax before the first round of the preliminaries. Raon: Crown prince, that must be a sour drink! HD: This is.... *frowns after drinking it* Alberu: Pfft. HD: … Cale: … Alberu: *ignores the displeased stares at him*

Heavenly Demon leaned lazily against the wall with his arms folded. “I'll be cheering you on, young master!” Cale, of course, did not forget to cheer appropriately. Heavenly Demon flashed Cale a smile that looked quite smug and cocky, and then closed his eyes.

The final match of the day in the third stage. Cale jumped to his feet. He shouted while holding the basket (that had Eden in it). “WAAAAAA! Our young master, let's win!” Regardless of how Rosalyn and Alberu looked at him from the side, Cale cheered for Kim Hae Yee as he entered the stage. “…….” After scanning the stadium once, Kim Hae Yee gave Cale a smirk as he made eye contact with him for the last time, then stepped onto the stage area.

Cale is so cute!!! 😂😂😂 And HD smiling at him every time!!! 🥰🥰🥰

Even though Dark Vein no longer targeted the contestants, 10 still disappeared. It was the work of the Ten Tigers of the Righteous Heaven, a unit that exclusively worked for the leader of the Chivalrous Alliance. They tried to frame the Dark Vein for it though.

HD's match was quick. His opponent was the first disciple from the Dao-Style Zen. HD swiftly split his opponent's wind dragon attack with just a swipe of his arm, and his opponent admitted defeat.

Ending Remarks I love the cute Cale and smug HD today. 🥰 Next chapter would be a continuation of the preliminaries, so we'd probably see how Sword Ghost fights then.

I find this hilarious and probably accurate. But I think it’d be even funnier if this took place post canon of Tgcf so we just have Hualian in the background wondering if they should step in before being like “no, no he has a point” and letting LWJ do his thing. Meanwhile some martial gods are getting a little miffed at this CHILD coming up to heaven and rearranging how things have been for THOUSANDS OF YEARS.

Some people probably challenge him and his ideals and either he beats them mercilessly or Xie Lian fights them for him because they’re too strong for LWJ but not the #1 martial god. And also Xie Lian knows more than a thing or two about fighting for your demonic husband that should be respected. Meanwhile Wwx is probably off being a little shit to Hua Cheng by annoying the daylights out of Hua cheng to the point where he’s struggling not to beat the shit out of WWX while simultaneously Wwx is saying some of the most thought provoking theories Hua Cheng has ever heard so Hua cheng can’t hurt him or else he won’t get to hear any of WWX’s theories (and/or possibly ideas to prank/annoy Mu Qing and Feng Xin).

if lwj were to ascend as a heavenly official he'd reform the entire system by sheer force of will bc everyone hiding their war crimes reminded him of the jins hiding their war crimes and wwx paying for it. he'll drag nhs up there for his silly little ability to play the long game and fuck up those who needed to be fucked up, reform the entire place and make sure ppl like wwx wld get their justice even after death, and have the place ready to accept wwx shld wwx want to ascend. because he's lwj and he can do anything with the power of love
