i do believe on some level that real love is ugly. i think we’ve convinced ourselves otherwise by ingesting highly filtered staged moments of other people’s relationships and telling ourselves that maybe we are too ugly for love. but real love — it’s waking up in the dead of morning with dried drool on your face, it’s bleeding in a bed that isn’t yours, it’s having a panic attack in the park and not knowing how to verbalize what you’re feeling, it’s not shaving + not apologizing, it’s crying because you need something you cannot name + much more — all while being held.

hi <3 and omg story time im sharing about last night!!

i went to this restaurant with my friend, where we split bruschetta, spinach dip, and stuffed mushrooms (DELICIOUS) then we went back to her place and pregamed while we played just dance (brutal, and that game is HARD). we got to the bar at like 10:30-quarter to 11? it's actually just an annual thing that happens when the rodeo is in town, so there were lots of people in cowboy boots and cowboy hats and country music playing. i think we were the only ones in dresses (bo-ho style) but tbh i didn't mind that. we drank and she chatted with some people she knew and we danced like the two-step together, and we both trauma dumped to each other and a guy she knew from high school came over, and i danced with him a few times. i danced with another guy too (my friend also knew him) i think 3 in total? i was terribly bad at it but it was so fun and brian (the guy my friend knew from highschool dipped me <3) then after it closed we went to a guy's trailer and hung out for a bit then her mom came and picked us up and drove brian home and then we went to mcdonald's and i finally fell asleep at like 4 am 😭

my body clock woke me up at 8 so i'm exhausted but i wasn't hungover!!!!! i was pretty drunk but like i peed a lot during the night and slammed like 4 waters before i fell asleep. my makeup was still pretty intact too so i just went to work like that. now though im gonna take a hot-ass bath and finally read more of my book <3

omg love that for you!! sounds like such a fun night, and ahh I haven’t played just dance in forever haha, that took me back fr! also look at you, basically dancing the night away, I need that tbh haha. and tbf a hot bath and a book is the best way to recover after a long night out lol!!

Life lesson you’ve learnt? - 🧚‍♀️

ooo hmm I had to think about this but I’d say a major life lesson I’ve learnt is that healing is not linear!! some days you can be feeling totally fine and then the next day you’re not as great but that’s just the process. healing is learning to live around your sadness. ig what I’m also tryna say is that joy and sadness can coexist xx

Happy Independence Day!! I’m American so I’m not familiar with Pakistani traditions. Would you care to enlighten us? How do you celebrate because for us it’s hot dogs, barbecue and fireworks.
