Tell me why tf it's pretty much illegal to be homeless, at least in the UK? Vagrancy (so things like rough sleeping, begging, etc) are against the law. Police can and will tell people to move, I've seen it myself.
If you're gonna make it illegal for people to sleep on the streets, maybe, yk, give them an alternative? Maybe even house them? Just a thought?
Like you can't even get a job in most cases if you're homeless, cause you have to provide your address. You can't even fucking volunteer. This is a problem, and no matter how many times the government claims to be fixing it, we see zero results. Do better.

For all those who compare sex work to working minimum wage jobs explain how if a customer is repeatedly a problem the customer can be banned from the premises yet pimps can now whine to the government if a woman refuses sex more than 10 times in 6 months.
A new law in Belgium celebrated by activists for providing a “labour contract” to prostitutes will also enable their pimps to punish them with a government mediator if they refuse sex more than 10 times in a six-month period. The Belgian Parliament voted for the law on May 3, with 93 in favor, zero opposed, and 33 abstentions.
The legislation is being touted as a win by UTSOPI, the Belgium Union of Sex Workers, which had lobbied extensively for the legislation. The law outlines that prostitutes will receive health insurance, a pension, maternity and holiday leave, and unemployment benefits. Their pimps will be forced to provide them with a “safety button” to use for emergencies.
Their website claims that the law “is a historic step in the battle for sex workers’ rights” and will create a “respectful, fair relationship” between prostitutes and their pimps, with UTSOPI spokesperson Daan Bauwens telling media that he believes “Belgium is really demonstrating that it aims to protect sex workers, regardless of any moral judgements about the profession people may have.”
Prostitutes are to be granted “rights” to refuse sexual acts, stop sexual acts, perform sexual acts in the manner they prefer, and refuse to sit behind Amsterdam-style windows (public facing windows where prostitutes are on display). However, should a prostitute use these “rights” 10 times within six months, their pimp can then call on a government mediator to intervene.
All pimps must have a registered office and apply to the Belgian government for approval to offer contracts to prostitutes. The contracts will be disguised as hotel-restaurant-café (HoReCa) contracts so that prostitutes can remain anonymous.
Andrea Heinz, a prostitution abolition advocate, called out the new legislation on X (formerly Twitter).
“There is little chance this will (actually) favour women. Under legalization/full decrim, pimps become ‘managers’ with the backing of the state to further entrench and maintain their power. Pimps see women they sell as products, not people deserving of full dignity & respect.”
Tumblr media
Outside the realm of so-called “sex work” activism, social media users have expressed horror at the new law.
“So the [government] helps pimps to coerce sex, what a disgusting idea,” posted X user @Bob16747466.

I refuse to hop in a Zoox car in my entire life if I can avoid it. I refuse to hop into any self-driving robo taxi (or robotaxi) that uses AI to keep it’s passengers “safe.” If this is actually a service they are legally allowed to provide publicly, there’s about to be a whole bunch of new laws made in hopefully very little time! Now you know me, obviously fuck the law, many laws are unjust, but sometimes we need some regulations to keep up with the shit that rich Silicon Valley tech bros “put out” while claiming it’s allegedly their own work. These rich bastards are dangerous! Now I’ll pass along the questions that my partner & I jokingly pondered. If something happens that the AI & detection systems doesn’t know how to handle, will us as the passengers be held legally responsible say if a child gets punted into the air by the self driving car & we can’t do anything to stop it? What if we’re asleep assuming the car is safe & it runs over a legally endangered animal? What if we’re on our phones & these self-driving robot cars cleave someone in half? What if it crashes into someone’s private property? Are we held responsible in any of these cases or is the big rich guy’s company? If it’s anything like Tesla, you should get your kids or pets out of the road when you see a Zoox car coming, it could allegedly cause some mortalities. Two more things. What’s stopping someone from hijacking, hacking, or planting a virus on these self-driving taxi services? What if one of them gets hijacked to take someone to a human trafficker meetup spot? Will the company be held responsible at all? The gifs below pretty much summarizes my feelings.

The continuous bombardment and the ongoing genocide pose a significant threat to their well-being. What pains me even more is that due to the lack of medications in Gaza, my Mom, who is a type 1 Diabetis patiant and was scheduled for an urgent eye surgery, have had no access to insulin or any medical care for the past 3 months. Some of my family members sought refuge in the southernmost part of Gaza (Rafah) in tents. However, my parents, and sisters have no alternative place to stay, forced to remain in the Nusierat refugee camp, which is now the subject of continuous severe bombardment since christmas started.” Am on my knees requesting for your donations. Please help where possible.
I would love to, I genuinely would. But I don't make enough money to support myself, my pets, and donate. I spread the word and do my daily clicks and if there was an organization for oeaceful protests near me I would join in a heartbeat.
But there aren't. There are no jobs open where I live and businesses are shutting down. I live in a very small baptist and catholic town in the South. I cannot find jobs easily as I'm considered mentally disabled and can't hold a job. But for anyone who sees this I'll be linking charities and irganizations that donate proceeds to Palestine.
Long live Palestine, long live the Arabic and Islamic peoples, and long live my Jewish brothers, sisters, and siblings. May we all find peace.

Immigrant Legal Aid Policies in the United States encompass a set of regulations and initiatives designed to provide legal assistance and support to individuals navigating the complex immigration system. These policies aim to ensure that immigrants, regardless of their status, have access to fair representation, information, and resources. Legal aid organizations collaborate with government agencies, pro bono attorneys, and community partners to offer services such as legal consultations, representation in immigration court proceedings, and advocacy for the protection of immigrants' rights. These policies reflect the commitment to upholding the principles of justice, fairness, and inclusive, recognizing the importance of a robust legal framework to address the diverse needs of the immigrant population in the United States.

cease & desist
what’s a cease and desist? i’ve been seeing on social media that many rich and sometimes even famous people send influencers cease and desists, and this is actually an intimidation tactic! it’s used to tell someone legally to stop doing whatever it is that they’re doing because it’s illegal (or allegedly illegal). according to legalnature.com, a cease and desist can count as harassment if misused and includes misinformation.

A PSA to all Gothamites -
Given last years fear gas attacks on Halloween, as well as that of years prior, we are advising all Gotham citizens to stay inside of a safe location tonight. If this cannot be done, remember to carry a gas mask on you at all times.
There will be stations set up around the city where you may get a mask if you do not already have one, as well as have any goods inspected to ensure they have not been tampered with. These have all been set up in partnership with the Gotham City Police Department, as well as charity funding.
Sincerely,
The GCMG under Christopher Nakano

You know what I would really like A.I. to do?
I would like A.I. to translate legal text into laymen terms.
I would like A.I. to make every lease I sign, every new law that comes into effect, every traffic violation, every insurance claim, every IRS form, every government document immediately readable, understandable, and relatable.
I would like someone to built an A.I. model that can close the gap between the people who make laws/ the people who protect businesses/ insurance companies/ government agencies/ landlords/ et al and the every day citizen.
Can we do that, please?
Can we use A.I. to level the playing field for our lives and livelihoods?
