Mun time
Hiya! The mun of this account also runs several other DC-related blogs and doesn’t follow any specific timeline, simply that Christopher Nakano is the Mayor.
Any other info on timelines or storyline ideas should be submitted via the ask box.
This is supposed to come across as kinda like the old duolingo socials; ie. a random teenager is running all pf these but they’re still legally part of the municipal government (or company in duos case).
I have not thought any of this through so, yeah. If any links are not working that’s because I still haven’t written the bio for the division it’s part of. The intern running this is @the-one-and-only-ruination so if ya’ll see it mentioned there a bit that’s why.

“I think I’m going to move to Gotham,” Jazz’s tapped away at her laptop, clicking through her college acceptance letters. Danny sat up from where he was scrolling through his phone and stared at her. “Thoughts?”
“And prayers,” he sassed. “Because you’re going to need them. Why the would you pick Gotham when Harvard accepted you?”
“Gotham has Arkham. And Doctor Quinzel.”
“Isn’t she Harley Quinn? The Crime Princess of Gotham?”
“Yeah, and an acclaimed psychologist with hundreds of published work that revolutionized the mental health field! Sure, she’s more criminally inclined now, but I’d kill to pick her brains.”
Danny grinned. “Interesting word choice. You’d fit right in. It’s just weird that all of their psychologists turned into villains.”
“Okay, but I won’t. You’d stop me.”
“Or I’d join you,” Danny rolled back onto the floor.
“Don’t you dare, Daniel Fenton. You’d better stop me if I went villain.”
“But I feel like you’d have a pretty good reason for it though?”
“I appreciate the trust, dumbass, but I’m always this close to loosing it.” Jazz rolled her eyes as she jabbed a finger at Danny.
“Hah! You’ll fit right into Gotham!”
Jazz hummed. “So, Gotham?”
“Yeah, why not?”
——
“Danny!”
“Little busy!” Danny dodged a blast from a GIW agent.
“Why’d you pick up, then?”
“You don’t call often- hey, can you guys knock it off? I’m on a call!” Danny shouted. Surprisingly the agents stopped.
“Woah. You guys actually stopped?”
“We’re anti-ghost, not rude cavemen. Finish your call, Phantom, so we can get back to capturing you.” The agent with red hair said. Her partner nodded their head.
“Riiiight.” Phantom floated away a bit. “What did you want to talk about?” He asked Jazz.
“So, Dr. Quinzel-”
Danny heard a further off “Call me Harley, darling!”
“Harley,” Jazz continued seamlessly. “Is dating Ivy, a meta! Which, totally cute and their relationship is so healthy. Goals, honestly-”
Danny heard another far off comment, “Awe, thanks, Jazzy-wazzy!”
“But long story short, they got in touch with the Justice League about the GIW and they’re getting pulled back! And disbanded! Are you fighting the agents? Can you see if they’ve got the order to pull back?”
“Wait, seriously?” Danny perked up, the exhaustion from the fight all but gone. “I’ll ask.”
Danny turned to the two agents, pulling the phone away from his ear. “Hey! Did you guys get orders to stop hunting me? I heard the Justice League got involved.”
“What? We didn’t-”
“Shit, wait, we got orders.” Her partner jabbed their phone at her.
“Fuck. This isn’t over, Phantom!”
“Yeah, yeah! Shoo!” Danny watched them peel away. “Thanks, Jazz! Maybe I’ll finally get a peaceful school year.”
“R.I.P.” Jazz solemnly intoned.
“Dead-ass.” Danny replied, just as seriously before the both of them broke. Cackling, Danny said goodbye to Jazz.
“Maybe I should get some gifts? Hm… Undergrowth has some rare plants.” Danny muttered as he flew back home.

A doorway not quite shut
Some incident or another knocked Danny into another universe, specifically into the city of Gotham. Luckily, he managed to make a portal to the Ghost Zone to get back home without anyone really giving too much notice to him.
However, though his portal mostly worked perfectly, one key aspect of it failed.
It didn’t fully close.
Ectoplasm, previously sparse in this universe, starts to leak through.
Effects aren’t immediately apparent. But gradually, it starts to sink into everything. Changing it, empowering it.
The city’s ghosts become stronger, more tangible. Its living citizens, too, are more durable. Tech experiences inexplicable glitches. Food, left for too long, starts to come alive.
It eventually becomes impossible to ignore.
What the hell is happening to Gotham City?

Dp x dc prompt/idea:
So you guys know the idea of sister towns/cities right? Like Boring Oregon & Dull Scotland are considered sister/paired towns because of their names are in the same vibe and people think it's funny.
Now consider: Amity Park & Gotham are sister cities, and have been for ages. Since before they were even cities, some say before they were even towns. Both being created by folks of the magical persuasion (though in different veins).
Now over time it's something that people - more so in Gotham, that grew and grew and grew, forgetting some of the "smaller" history along the way - don't think about much any more. A plaque beneath Amity Park's welcome sign. A bit of obscure trivia that gets pulled out in the more serious pub quizzes in Gotham. Nothing that's top of mind to anybody these days, what with Amity's ghosts and Gotham's...well, everything.
At least, it wasn't top of mind until the earthquake hit and the government cut the ailing city off from the rest of the world.
Amity Park has had it's fair share of the US government fucking them over, it took ages to drive out the GIW and for Amity Park to find peace with their undead neighbors and Phantom - their own Ghost King - that called their little city home.
So the people of Amity Park, deeply suspicious and untrusting of the government, used to disasters well beyond the scope of what normal cities are accustomed to facing and stuffed full of Midwestern politeness and a strong sense of duty to help their neighbors - no matter how far away - does what the rest of the world refuses to do.
They come together and do everything they can to help.
The people in the ruins and wreckage of Gotham are not anywhere near prepared for bright green glowing portals to start popping open all over the place. They are even less prepared for those portals to have a strange mix of glowing, flying entities and determined midwesterners brandishing emergency supplies and warm casseroles. But hey, it's not like anyone else in the world seems to give a damn if Gotham lives or dies, and these Amity Park folks seem like their kid of people.

Hide and Seek
When his family decided to play hide and seek, Danny always participated. He was an expert; after months of running away, coupled with the fact that he had invisibility, the game was very easy, the halfa had always been the best.
So when his family decided to team up to hide from Gotham and their heroes Danny did it too. He could see Officer Gordon searching for the "dangerous" couple and Batman tracking the "meta" but they would never find them. They were too good at the game.
Oracle would despair at their blurry, seeing corrupted images as they led the rest of the vigilantes in a circling search because it was fun.
Of course, they were so distracted paying attention to them that they forgot the other bats. No wonder Red Hood asked for payment after founding them in Crime Alley a few days later (Danny wondered if the vigilante would be willing to play with him, it was strange that he didn't accuse them)

Halfa Batman. 19.2.23
DP x DC. Batman, Superman, Batfam, Danny Phantom. Batman & Superman, Batman & Danny.
Batman dies. (This is not the surprising part, given his job.) He comes back. (His family’s track record also makes this less impressive than normal.) He doesn’t do either one all the way.
Some kind of fight with the League of Assassins takes place, Batman gets tossed into the Lazarus pit along with a pack of dynamite or something, and the resulting faulty natural portal to the Ghost Zone + explosion manages to do just the right amounts of kill and revive him to yeet him to half-ghost status.
He does not tell anyone, of course. Healthy communication who?
He manages to keep it from his family as he figured out invisibility, intangibility, and his transformation.
All the criminal element of Gotham knows is that Batman is somehow even more spooky now.
The first person he does tell is Superman. He panics, looses control of his powers, and calls Clark for help because he’s floating several feet in the air and can’t get down.
Eventually he meets Danny, and that’s how he finds out about the anti-ecto laws and gets the horrifying revelation that not only is it legal for the government to kidnap and dissect experiment on him now, Clark is technically breaking the law every minute he’s not turning him in.
(Danny’s logical ‘that’s Batman’ side of his brain is being drowned out by his concern for the new baby halfa.)

dp x dc prompt #32!
Danny moves to Gotham, but instead of his ghostliness unsettling people and drawing attention to him, it’s the fact that he’s so openly nice to people.
He’s helping people in a way that most people have been too scared to do for a very long time, and people definitely take notice when nothing immediately bad happens, and he keeps up the same as he always has with no foul schemes in sight.
Danny’s handed out food to people that needed it, stepped into disputes before they even got violent, picked up strays off the streets and taken them to places they could live better, stopped various muggings single handedly, and even assisted the paramedics and evac teams during large scale disasters.
While the bats didn’t have a real reason to investigate this force of uncontained kindness, they did strike up conversations when they happened across the same trouble, and were very fond of the teenager that seemed to wander the streets at all hours.
So of course everyone notices when the unconventionally friendly kid disappears, with the evidence linking him to a shadowy branch of the government.

Mayor Nakano’s newest project sparks legal battle - GCCPS
Earlier this evening this journal was made aware of a new issue arising within our beloved city’s government. The culprit? Mayor Christopher Nakano’s (see related articles) newest passion project, the newest government devision; Gotham City Child Protective Services.
Gotham City Child Protective Services, or GCCPS (see related articles), was put in place after the disbandment of its predecessor, Gotham City Protection Services (see related articles), after the city’s municipal government, under Mayor Nakano, found it to be in violation of multiple laws (see related articles).
This includes, but is not limited to, several charges of fraud, potentially human trafficking, alleged child exploitation, alleged human experimentation, and child abuse and abduction. And while this journal applauds Mayor Nakano for removing this plague on the family’s of this city, we are beginning to question how well he thought this decision through.
Since the activation of GCCPS nearly a month ago, they have removed several children from homes without, what seems to be, legal grounds to do so. At the very least without any proper information prior to the child’s removal.
One family to have a child removed, The Gordon’s (see related articles), are attempting to fight this decision in court alongside several other children who were recently removed from their homes. We sent our intern to interview Ms. Barbara ‘Babs’ Gordon (see related articles) ( @babsggordon ), elder sister of the child removed, Julian Gordon ( @the-other-son-of-james-gordon ). Here is what she had to say -
“ Q: Please clarify the situation you and your family are in in regard to GCCPS ”
“ A: My family has been deeply afecteds by the recent mannage of the organization. The organization has taken a biological family member out of their home to be put in the struggles and inestability of the system. ”
“ Q: Do you believe them to be a valid organization? ”
“ A: No, there's no public means to contact the organization and on behalf the lack of the proper public information should have available for the general public. ”
“ Q: Do you believe your father to be guilty of those crimes? Do you believe them to be crimes at all? ”
“ A: According to the U.S Child protection law, these reasons are invalid. For three principal reasons:
I. The are missing the fellow paperwork, neither I or my father, Mr. Gordon has received the proper notice approved by the legal means
II. The subject and declaration to take a kid from their home, (in this case Julian J. Gordon) by negligence in the excuse for a severe addiction requires a police statement and in the case of legal subjects as tabaco or coffee, a medical diagnosis of addiction. Mr. Gordon don't present either of them. The medical archives of Mr. Gordon ARE public information due to his job as Police Comissioner.
III. The prohibition of communication with his family is an attempt against Julian and his family rights, considering they are his biological family no organization are authorized to restrain the communication with the immediate family as parents or siblings. ”
“ Q: What would be your words to Mayor Nakano in regard to this situation? ”
“ A: Mayor Nakano, with all the due respect I demand the respective clarifications of the recent movements in all the respective public organizations. Most of them are missing and it's a major problem it should be resolved as soon as possible. ”
“ Q: How would you fix the current adoption system within Gotham? ”
“ A: It's a big question to resolve just in a few words, but I would suggest that the organization openly collaborates with the Thomas and Martha way foundation. Raise the funds in public orphanages. And keep the investigation about the protectors of the children to the protectors and not stress the children by intrusively take them out of their homes. ”
When later asked if she and her family would further this lawsuit if Mr. Gordon was returned, she responded with -
“ Absolutely. ”
While we were unable to contact Mayor Nakano on this situation, there has been a recent update as there is now a way to contact GCCPS as well as many other factions on the Gotham City Municipal Government via their newly created social media account ( @gotham-city-municipal-government ).
We are unsure if Ms. Gordon and her lawyers were made aware of this, or if it was even available when she was initially inquiring after the wellbeing of her brother.
Another group of affected, 5 children between the ages of 8 and 14 who have been living together under the care of their respective guardians, are also pursuing legal action, more on this story later (see related articles).
Though Mayor Nakano was not available for comment, we reached out to the Gotham City Municipal Government and GCCPS for statements on the matter. Solely the GCMG responded, here is what they had to say -
“ Due to the nature of our founding and the, admittedly rocky, transition of data from or predecessor GCPS, as well as the sheer number of reports against Commissioner Gordon, we are legally obligated to intervene.
Due to the nature of the reports (addiction, abuse, neglect, etc.) we found it prudent to remove Mr. Gordon from his home as a means of ensuring he not be in harms way.
While we do have some access to Commissioner Gordon’s medical logs, we were are unsure of their validity and are having our own personnel review his files, both with the New Jersey Medical System (see related articles) and with the GCPD (see related articles).
We do admit to there being a lack of clarity on this case on our part, and will happily discuss further details with the families affected. ”
Though inconclusive, this case is ongoing and will be closely monitored by this journal.
Let us know your thoughts on the topic (here)

Batman's whole no killing rule kind of reminds me of the hippocratic oath and doing no harm (kind of). In essence, Batman is trying to ensure that people who commit crime are brought to justice while being allowed the opportunity to change their ways to live a crime free life.
As a base ideology, Batman's agenda is solid. In practice? No.
In a place like Gotham (corruption is normalized and an unspoken tradition, rogues are slaughtering people at least once a month, the wealth disparity is large, etc.), crime free existence is a pipe dream. Even Batman is breaking the law through his actions of policing. Continually, reformation within the US justice system is difficult as is. I can't even imagine the horrors, mistreatment, and prejudice convicted folk experience in Gotham. The idea that criminals will be safe enough in prison to reform, or that they will even reach prison, is inane.
There's a reason they call Arkham's gate a revolving door.
For most criminals, murder should not be utilized. Crimes should be analyzed on intent and risk analysis. Is this person likely to commit the crime again? Did they have a good reason for the crime? Would they serve their agreed upon time or bribe/escape before then?
Any need-based crime, such as stealing food, should be met with social support for the individual. Is it not coercion if your choices are between dying or stealing?
Any individual who has high risk of repeating the crime, is a huge danger to others (like harming or killing dozens of people), will not stay in confinement with the current system, and did not have a good reason for their crime should be put down in Gotham. If you can not stop them outside of death, then let vigilantes kill them.
On the other hand, the issue with vigilante murderers is a lack of oversight. You don't know who's behind the mask, and you can not stop them. I would rather trust them than the US government, though. The US has historically proven to be untrustworthy, especially in reference to charging, sentencing, and execution.

Prompt 152
A child has interrupted a Gala in Gotham, which wouldn’t be too much of a note except the fact that they’re obviously not human and they have an armful of scrolls. And look incredibly frazzled and exhausted.
Which, who wouldn’t be confused and curious about such a situation? Except asking the child what they’re doing here only causes more questions.
“So some dimensions’ governments are deeming undead and ecto-contaminated living as non-sentient, so uhm, we’re getting sent to send out these warnings to people in places that are in danger of that. As like a warning in case their government does the same? I-I don’t know I’m just the messenger :(“

I would like to imagine that Bat Burger is the Waffle House of Gotham City.
Running at full capacity means city Chaos as usual, just keep your knife and gas mask and you’ll probably be fine.
Yellow is a big enough villain attack to be extra cautious or a hostage situation in the Bat Burger.
The day Bat Burger is closed is the day absolute hell rains down on Gotham. I’m talking mass villain attacks, extreme natural disaster, and Batman and most of his best allies being MIA. A point at which even the most seasoned Gothamites fear.

Apologies.
Caz was tired of this, the struggles; the barely masked anger. The sun shone bright in the park, even warm in the deep shade of the trees. He sat, carving the old names of their friends and the well known sigils tracing across his body into the bark of a large oak tree.
He’d asked them to meet him here ‘to talk’. What did that even mean? He wasn’t quite sure. There’d been too much since last time they’d see each other, that time with their new brother didn’t count.
We should probably talk about that, too.
There was so much he didn’t know, so much he hadn’t told them. He wanted to do this, right? But with every single minute passing by his mind questioned the sanity behind this decision. They had every right to hate him, and so when the sun hit its zenith and they had yet to show he was a bit relieved.
Nevertheless he waited, it wasn’t as if he had anywhere else to be. He counted twenty more minutes, twelve new names carved into the bark, before he heard them approach.
“Hey, Os’.”

Nother dp x dc prompt for yall:
Jazz tracks down the League of Assassins to get as much training from them as she can to take out the GIW and her parents. While there she meets Jason post his Lazarus Pit dip.
They get along a little too well for Talia's (and her plans for Jason's) comfort.
