As someone who has escaped the US, I have to beg people to stop fucking around with "If Trump wins I am leaving." This is the most ignorant of stances. You are the frog thinking they can wait until the pot "really starts to boil" to get out. It has taken many international flights, a pile of money, and almost a full year of work to make our escape from the US happen. If shit gets really bad, you aren't getting out. Do you really think Canada is just going to open its doors and let 15 million US refugees drive through its border? You better get all your documents sorted with apostille. Don't know what that is? Fucking figure it out because you need it. Get your FBI background check started NOW it takes months. What's going to happen when they get 10 times the volume of requests? Get your job offer, the family member who can apply for reunification, or a large amount of liquid cash sorted that you will need for your application. Figure out what country you are going to and start making a plan. Did you know to apply for a long-term stay visa for most countries you have to apply from inside the US and wait there to receive it? And you have to apply in person at the embassy or consulate. It takes weeks to months. It takes ages to move to another country even if you bring nothing but a suitcase and your paperwork. It takes a day for Trump to shut the door and make it so you can't leave. Why do you think so many Jews never made it out of Germany? Either they could not leave because they did not have the means to or they waited too long and the trap was shut. I am so incredibly sorry for my fellow Americans who can't leave. I know all the arguments that someone has to stay and fight. I deeply applaud those who can do that. I can't do that. This message is for the people naively thinking that if Trump wins again they can just leave. If you are staying and he wins you better prepare yourself to be one of those who fights because you won't be leaving. Wake up.

applying to universities abroad
To be honest, I started this blog too late. I'm mostly done with all my applications, the only thing I have left to do is an interview (which is happening in 2 days)
For some context and background, I am a fresh high school graduate from Jakarta, Indonesia. I studied using the Indonesian national curriculum and English isn't my first language but I'd like to believe that I have full professional proficiency.
This past semester. I have devoted so much time and effort into applying for universities abroad. I applied to 4 universities in total, which are:
Yonsei Underwood International College
Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology
University of British Columbia
National University of Singapore
I plan to major in Interaction Design so I chose whichever majors were the closest to it in every uni. Since I come from a middle-upper economic background with 2 other siblings that are also still financially dependent on my parents, I ought to seek scholarships in all of these universities.
The application process for most of these univs are relatively similar in that you have you fill out your identity, write essays and submit documents online. However, for Yonsei UIC, I had to print out my application and mail the documents straight to South Korea. Most of the documents are easy to collect (especially with the help of my brilliant Tata Usaha staff I love you pak Rubi, I owe you so much), but some documents require specific certifications (like notarization and apostille stamps) which penultimately is the most tedious part of the process, aside from writing the essays of course.
I started applying in November of 2022 and I am not finished up to this point so you best believe that my application process really took a toll on me MENTALLY 😂 bc of complications and all that jazz (I made sure it didn't affect my studies tho, to be able to graduate is ####1).
The last step I'd have to do is an interview for Yonsei UIC and it's happening in 2 days! wml guys😭🙏 I'll make sure to update about that.
Until then, gewdbye <3

Understanding US-Issued Document Apostille
International document authentication is crucial for various legal, business, and personal matters. Whether you’re moving abroad, expanding a business, or studying in another country, ensuring the validity of your documents is essential. One of the most recognized forms of authentication is the US-issued document Apostille. This certification simplifies the legalization process, making your documents valid in over 100 countries.
What Is a US-Issued Document Apostille?
An US-issued document Apostille is a certification issued by the Secretary of State or the U.S. Department of State, depending on the type of document. It verifies the authenticity of signatures, seals, and stamps on official U.S. documents, ensuring they are legally recognized in countries that are part of the Hague Apostille Convention.
This process eliminates the need for embassy legalization, significantly reducing the time and complexity involved in international document authentication. Documents commonly requiring an Apostille include birth certificates, marriage certificates, educational diplomas, business agreements, and powers of attorney.
How to Obtain an Apostille for a US-Issued Document
To get an US-issued document Apostille, follow these steps:
Identify the issuing authority – Depending on the document type, Apostilles are issued either by the Secretary of State (for state-level documents) or the U.S. Department of State (for federal documents).
Ensure the document is properly notarized – Some documents, such as affidavits and power of attorney, require notarization before obtaining an Apostille.
Submit the document to the appropriate office – Each state has a designated authority for Apostille services. If the document is a federal document, such as an FBI background check, it must go through the U.S. Department of State.
Pay the required fee – Each state or federal agency has its own fee structure for Apostille services.
Receive your Apostille – Once processed, the Apostille will be attached to your document, certifying its authenticity for international use.
Why Is an Apostille Important?
An Apostille ensures that your documents are legally recognized in foreign countries, reducing bureaucratic hurdles. It is widely used for:
Immigration and visas – Many countries require Apostilled birth certificates or marriage certificates for visa applications.
International business transactions – Companies expanding abroad often need Apostilled business documents.
Education and employment – Students and professionals moving internationally must authenticate their academic credentials.
Navigating international documentation can be complex, but obtaining a US-issued document Apostille simplifies the process. It provides a fast and legally recognized method of authentication, ensuring your documents are accepted without additional legalization steps. Whether for personal, academic, or business purposes, securing an Apostille is a crucial step toward seamless global transactions.

Unlocking Global Success: The Surprising Power of a New Jersey Notary Public for Startups
Tumblr media
Starting a business that reaches across borders requires more than just ideas and ambition—it also involves meeting strict legal and documentation standards. For global startups, one of the most trusted partners in this process is the Notary Public State of New Jersey. From verifying documents to helping with international authentication, notary services offer essential support. Especially when startups need to prove the validity of corporate papers abroad, the notary ensures everything is properly signed and certified. In this article, we'll discuss how notary services and apostille support in New Jersey help new businesses grow globally and stay compliant. Trustworthy Document Certification for Legal Use When expanding into international markets, startups often need certified documents for everything from opening bank accounts to registering branches. A Notary Public State of New Jersey plays a key role in making sure authorities in other countries accept these documents. After notarization, documents may need to be validated through the State of NJ Apostille process. This step ensures foreign governments accept them as legally valid. Without these approvals, businesses may face delays or rejection. Startups benefit from quick and accurate notary services, making sure their legal process moves smoothly across borders without obstacles. Essential for Cross-Border Agreements and Operations As startups form partnerships or hire global employees, they must sign many international agreements. These may include contracts, power of attorney, or incorporation documents. Having these forms notarized by a Notary Public State of New Jersey adds legal weight and confirms authenticity. For documents used overseas, companies also rely on the NJ State Apostille to certify the notary’s signature and stamp. This combination is often mandatory when working in countries that follow The Hague Apostille Convention. Smooth Setup for International Fundraising and Banking Many global startups rely on external funding, foreign investors, and international banking. To open accounts or secure investments abroad, legal documents such as business licenses, certificates of incorporation, or ownership agreements often need to be notarized and apostilled. The State of NJ Apostille helps validate these papers, giving foreign institutions the confidence to process them without legal concerns. Saves Time and Builds Legal Confidence Global startups work fast and often under tight deadlines. Missing one legal step or having improperly certified papers can cost both time and money. A reliable notary service ensures that documents are handled quickly and properly, with no risk of rejection. Once notarized, the document is submitted for a State of NJ Apostille, making it ready for international use. These steps remove the guesswork and boost confidence among foreign partners and authorities. Wrapping Up: A Silent Backbone for Startup Success Behind every international startup that runs smoothly is a system of verified paperwork and trusted services. The Notary Public State of New Jersey ensures that crucial steps are not missed when entering foreign markets. Add to that the proper handling of the NJ State Apostille and State of NJ Apostille, and businesses have the legal tools they need to expand with confidence. If you're launching a business with global goals, NJ Mobile Notary & Apostille Services offers dependable, timely solutions that help your documents stand strong—no matter where in the world they go. Their experienced team ensures every detail is handled with care, making international compliance simple and stress-free.

How to Find a Trusted Notary Public in the UK?
Tumblr media
A Notary Public in the UK plays a vital role in verifying, witnessing, and certifying documents for use abroad. These professionals authenticate a wide range of legal documents, including powers of attorney, affidavits, statutory declarations, property transactions, and business contracts. Unlike solicitors, their work is internationally recognised, making them essential for anyone dealing with overseas legal matters.
The notary’s signature and seal give documents legal credibility outside the UK, ensuring that they are accepted by foreign authorities, courts, and institutions. Choosing a trusted notary public is critical to avoid delays, legal issues, or costly rejections from foreign entities.
Why Trust and Credibility Matter in Notarial Services
When selecting a notary, trust is paramount. You are entrusting someone with documents that may affect your property, business interests, or personal legal status abroad. A credible notary ensures that your documents are:
Properly witnessed and verified
Compliant with the legal requirements of the receiving country
Handled with confidentiality and professionalism
Registered and recorded accurately for future verification
Choosing an inexperienced or unregistered notary may lead to rejected documents, wasted fees, and legal disputes. This is why identifying a reliable, regulated notary public in the UK is essential.
Verify Accreditation with the Faculty Office of the Archbishop of Canterbury
In the UK, notaries are regulated by the Faculty Office of the Archbishop of Canterbury. Before hiring any notary, always verify that they are:
Officially appointed and regulated
Listed in the official Notary Public register
Insured and compliant with continuing professional development requirements
You can find a verified list of notaries at the Faculty Office website. This registry confirms that the notary is fully authorised to act and is subject to regulatory oversight, disciplinary procedures, and ethical standards.
Look for Specialisation in International and Foreign Law
A truly trusted notary public should have expertise in the legal systems and requirements of foreign jurisdictions. Some countries require additional steps, such as:
Apostille certification under The Hague Convention
Legalisation by foreign embassies or consulates
Specific document formats and translations
A knowledgeable notary will guide you through this complex process, ensuring your documents are accepted without issue. Ask whether the notary provides apostille and legalisation services, and whether they have experience with the specific country you're dealing with.
Seek Reviews and Recommendations from Previous Clients
Reputation is everything when it comes to selecting a notary. Check for:
Online reviews on Google, Yell, Trustpilot, or similar platforms
Testimonials from clients in similar industries or legal contexts
Recommendations from solicitors, accountants, or business associates
Word-of-mouth and verified feedback can reveal insights into the notary’s efficiency, pricing, professionalism, and communication. If a notary is consistently recommended and reviewed positively, it’s a strong indicator of trustworthiness.
Transparency in Fees and Services
A trusted notary public will always provide clear and upfront pricing for their services. Be cautious of those who:
Refuse to give a written quote
Add hidden charges after work is completed
Offer “cut-price” services far below market rates
Quality notarial work demands legal expertise, accountability, and compliance with regulations. Ensure you receive:
A detailed estimate of all fees, taxes, and disbursements
A breakdown of service timeframes and delivery methods
A receipt or invoice upon payment
Clear communication and billing demonstrate professional ethics and respect for the client’s time and trust.
Check for Additional Services That Enhance Convenience
Many notaries offer added value services such as:
Mobile notary appointments at your home, office, or chosen location
Evening and weekend availability
Digital document review and pre-approval before your appointment
Courier services for documents needing urgent international delivery
Translation services and multilingual support
These conveniences indicate a client-focused notary who understands modern business and legal needs.
Evaluate Professionalism and Office Standards
A notary's presentation, office environment, and communication style reflect their professional standards. Look for the following:
Clean, secure, and accessible office premises
Friendly, professional staff
Timely email and phone responses
Willingness to explain legal procedures in plain English
A professional notary inspires confidence and peace of mind. Avoid notaries who are difficult to reach, vague about procedures, or unwilling to explain your obligations.
Trusted Notary Services for Businesses and Corporations
Businesses engaging in international trade, expansion, or foreign compliance will benefit from a notary public with corporate legal expertise. Corporate notarial services may include:
Certifying company documents such as articles of incorporation, board resolutions, and shareholder agreements
Verifying director signatures and identities
Drafting and notarising cross-border contracts
Liaising with Chambers of Commerce or foreign embassies
Choosing a notary experienced in corporate law and international compliance is crucial for multinational transactions.
Red Flags to Watch Out For When Choosing a Notary
Avoid notaries who:
Lack an official listing with the Faculty Office
Refuse to share identification or professional credentials
Cannot explain legalisation or apostille processes
Use overly complex legal jargon to confuse or upsell
Have inconsistent reviews or no visible reputation online
These signs may point to inexperience, unethical practices, or non-compliance with legal standards. Always trust your instincts and verify the notary’s credentials before proceeding.
Conclusion: Choose Carefully for Peace of Mind
Finding a trusted notary public in the UK requires diligence, verification, and attention to detail. By following the above guidelines, individuals and businesses can ensure their documents are legally valid, internationally recognised, and handled with the utmost care.
When legal documents must cross borders, choosing the right notary is not just convenient — it’s essential. Don’t settle for less than a fully qualified, reputable, and client-centred notary.

What Services Can a Notary in Portadown Help You With?
When dealing with important documents—especially those that carry legal weight—it’s essential to ensure they’re prepared, witnessed, and certified properly. That’s where a notary comes in. If you're based in Portadown and wondering what exactly a notary can assist with, this guide breaks it all down.
What Is a Notary?
A notary, or notary public, is a qualified legal professional authorised to carry out certain legal formalities, particularly those relating to the authentication of documents for international use. Their role is to prevent fraud and ensure that the people signing documents are who they claim to be and understand what they’re signing.
In the UK, notaries are regulated separately from solicitors Craigavon and are held to strict standards. They often deal with cross-border matters, and their services are crucial when documents need to be accepted in other countries.
Why Might You Need a Notary in Portadown?
You might be surprised at how often notarial services are needed. Many legal, financial, and business matters require notarised documents, especially when dealing internationally. If you're buying property abroad, applying for a visa, or starting a business overseas, a notary’s services are likely to be required.
Let’s explore the main services a notary in Portadown can offer.
1. Authenticating Documents for International Use
One of the core services provided by notaries is document authentication. This ensures that your document will be recognised as valid in another country. Examples include:
Birth, marriage, and death certificates
Educational certificates
Professional qualifications
Proof of identity documents such as passports
A notary will verify the authenticity of the original document and then provide a certified copy or confirm its validity through a notarial certificate.
2. Witnessing Signatures on Legal Documents
Notaries are often called upon to witness the signing of important documents. This helps prevent fraud and adds an official layer of verification. Documents that may need to be signed in the presence of a notary include:
Power of attorney (especially for use overseas)
Statutory declarations
Affidavits
Consent forms
Having a notary witness these signatures ensures that the document is legally binding and can be recognised in the jurisdiction it's intended for.
3. Administering Oaths and Declarations
Notaries are authorised to administer oaths, affirmations, and statutory declarations. This service is commonly used in legal or administrative proceedings. You may need a notary’s assistance for:
Swearing an affidavit
Making a statutory declaration for legal matters (such as a name change)
Providing a sworn statement for use in a foreign country
This process confirms that the individual is making the statement truthfully and voluntarily, under penalty of perjury.
4. Certifying Copies of Documents
Sometimes, instead of submitting an original document, you may be asked to provide a notarised copy. This is especially common when dealing with official bodies abroad. A notary can certify that a copy of a document—such as a passport or academic qualification—is a true and accurate reproduction of the original.
This is particularly helpful when you're applying for jobs, studying, or immigrating to another country and need to provide supporting documents without sending the originals.
5. Preparing and Certifying Powers of Attorney
A power of attorney allows someone to act on your behalf, often in financial or legal matters. If you're granting power of attorney for use abroad—for example, to buy property or manage a bank account in another country—you will likely need a notary to prepare or certify the document.
This helps ensure that the power of attorney will be accepted by foreign institutions or governments.
6. Apostille and Legalisation Assistance
Many documents destined for use overseas must go through a process known as legalisation. This typically involves two stages:
Notarisation – where the notary certifies the document
Apostille – issued by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) to confirm the notary’s signature and authority
A notary can guide you through this process or even handle the apostille application on your behalf. In some cases, further legalisation by a foreign embassy may be required, and a notary can help coordinate this.
7. Helping with Business and Corporate Documents
If you're running a business and need to operate internationally, a notary can assist with:
Certifying company documents (e.g. Articles of Association)
Verifying the identity of directors and shareholders
Notarising board resolutions or corporate powers of attorney
Authenticating commercial contracts for overseas use
These services are vital when forming partnerships, opening foreign bank accounts, or bidding for international contracts.
