Scent of Seductioná âá â Ë â á â á
Summary: Halsin finds himself captivated by Tav, the feeling is mutual, of course. Their journey is full of danger and desire. Despite Halsin's internal struggle between primal instincts and duty, their mutual attraction intensifies. When Tav is in heat, their passion ignites... and well... let's just say things get steamy.

Author's note: today my demons won. sorry guys, but I was thinking about it for the longesttttt timeÂ
also! you can read this on ao3 if you prefer it that way âĄ
á âá â Ë â á â á
The first time Halsin saw you, he was in his bear form. Held captive in the dark cellar, surrounded by goblins; such lowly creatures. He was helpless and angry, but then he caught a scent of something, or rather someone's scent. Someone who surely didnât belong there, and that person was you. His ears perked up, intrigued. His muzzle watered a little, your scent being so delicious. But he didnât want to eat you, of course. His hunger was of a different kind, you see.
At the camp, Halsin could sense you. He felt it in his flesh when you werenât near. His mind and body grew restless, but it wasnât only that. When he saw you talking to Wyll or Gale, laughing with them and sharing stories, he felt those sudden pangs of something he hadnât felt for the longest time; jealousy. He was far too old for that, or so he thought. His heart wasnât one to stir easily, but with you...it was different. He clenched his jaw unconsciously at the thought of you being with other males. He couldnât stand this, but he shook his head, ignoring the feeling for now, as he had different matters to attend to.
Yet, his eyes followed you with longing each time you were close.
During the Tiefling Party, it took all the strength he had to reject your rather obvious seductions. You were absolutely sweet, your cheeks flushed from wine, your eyes sparkly and playful. It was a delight to see you so happy and carefree, the hero of the night, the center of attention. You were shining, and despite having so many people to choose from, your eyes found his. Halsin's chest swelled with pride at the thought, but he had to remain composed. That's why he didnât drink that night; a calculated move on his part, as he feared he might say something he shouldn't have. Halsin already knew he had a certain weakness towards you, and alcohol would only fuel that. In no time, he would confess his feelings for you, saying you were made for each other, that his body and soul yearned for you. He would say he wanted to protect you and love you for eternity, and when he told you that you laughed, thinking he was exaggerating, but he wasn't. It was the truth and his words towards you would be sincere. Then, if he really got carried away and his alpha brain would win over him, he would not let you go until he marked you and pushed his semen deep into your womb. Continuously.
And he knew you for only a few hours at least, and you had a world to save, and he had his duties, and you deserved more than thatâyou deserved to be courted, to be worshipped. Yet, when he told you to enjoy the night with someone else, deep inside he hoped you wouldnât.
The thought of you with someone else boiled his veins with anger, but what choice did he have? As he thought about it now, he realised he would act differently that night. He would take your hands in his, kiss them gently and ask you to wait for him, but then, it was different. Maybe he was scared? Maybe he wanted to play it cool, not used to having such abrupt feelings towards someone?
á âá â Ë â á â á
Halsin wakes up in the middle of the night, sensing your absence. With a sense of urgency, he stands up and follows your scent. You're not in your usual spot. He finds you at the lake, bathed in moonlight, your naked form illuminated against the dark water. Your slender back, cascading hair, and the gentle curve of your hips beneath the water's surface captivate him. You look divine, a sight to behold. However, Halsin quickly averts his gaze, feeling it's inappropriate to observe you in such a vulnerable state. Returning to his tent, he finds his body betraying him, his arousal evident in the half-hardness of his dick.
Oh, how he longs to draw nearer to you, grasp your waist from behind and draw you closer to his body, making you feel his growing arousal pressing against you. Showing you how much he wants you, how much he needs you. He would groan to your ear, bite your neck and take you here and there, as nature intended. But you are not his to claim, he reminds himself sternly, over and over again, resisting the urge to succumb to his primal instincts.
But that was about to change when you left the Shadow-Cursed Lands. He was finally free from responsibilities, finally free to follow his heart's desires, and you quickly noticed this sudden transformation of his. As you traveled together, Halsin seemed drawn to your side, even unconsciously. He sought to protect you from any danger, always ready to lend a hand when needed. You noticed him finding excuses to be near you, to touch you, to engage in conversation. His gaze lingered on you, his presence felt even when he walked behind you. During campfires, he sat close, his body language open and inviting, his thigh brushing yours. Though he laughed and talked with others, his eyes always found their way back to you, his attention unwavering when you spoke. It made you feel shy, this whole-hearted attention Halsin gave you, but undeniably it made you feel appreciated.
Yet, you couldn't shake the memories of your early encounters. After he helped you battling those goblins, covered in blood and exuding raw power, you felt a shiver run down your spine. He appeared strong and imposing, igniting something within you. But when you approached him with openness and willingness at the Tiefling Party, he rejected you, leaving you feeling foolish. You had hoped for mutual feelings or at least some acknowledgment, but for most of your journey, he offered only polite smiles and lukewarm courtesy. Why the sudden change now?
Donât get me wrong, you basked in the glory of his attention, relishing in those small smiles meant only for you. But amidst the warmth of his gestures, doubts crept into your mind. Weren't you worthy of his notice before? Yet, you quickly brushed aside those thoughts, focusing instead on the present. Halsin cared for you deeply now, ensuring you were fed, rested, and shielded from the sun's harsh rays. He showered you with little gifts; wildflowers plucked from the roadside, stones with intriguing shapes and colours, and delicately carved wooden ducks. There was no mistaking his intentions; Halsin was courting you, with patience and respect. Your heart raced at the thought, eagerly anticipating his next move. You pondered what the future held, though you never could have imagined what was to come.
á âá â Ë â á â á
You found yourself in heat as soon as you arrived at Baldur's Gate. It was as if your body had finally released the tension accumulated during your harrowing journey through the Shadow-Cursed Lands. After witnessing so much death, roughly cut body parts and darkness, your body sought solace within the safety of the Elfsong Tavern, nestled behind the town walls.
Despite the late hour, neither you nor Halsin slept. Instead, you reveled in each other's company, cuddling on the sofa with the soft glow of the fire casting gentle shadows around you. Halsin held you close, his strong arms enveloping your body, and then he cupped your head, drawing you nearer for what would be your first kiss. As his lips met yours, a haze descended over your mind, and you found yourself yearning for more. You were waiting for so long.
You eagerly shifted positions, settling onto his lap, deepening the kiss with a hunger you couldn't contain. Halsin chuckled softly, his fingers pressing against the sides of your body possessively. You gasped at the sensation, feeling a sudden warmth between your legs as your pants grew damp. Panic surged through youâno, it couldn't be.
"I'm sorry, Halsin, I can't right now," you managed to say as you swiftly freed yourself from Halsin's embrace and fled to your bedroom. You needed space, distance from him until you could gather your thoughts.
His kiss and the sudden rush of emotions triggered your heat, overwhelming you with fear and confusion. You buried your face in your pillow, tears streaming down your cheeks as you struggled to make sense of what was happening.
Morning brought a gentle knock at your door, and you knew it was Halsin. He had been there all night, waiting patiently for you. "My love, let me in," his voice was soft, tinged with concern. When silence greeted his words, he spoke again, a hint of uncertainty creeping into his tone. "Did I do something wrong?"
"No, never," you replied, your heart aching at the thought that he might blame himself. "I just don't feel well," you confessed through tears, your voice muffled by the pillow.
"Whenever it is, I'm confident I can help you, my darling," his words were sincere and full of worry. You were clearly in distress, and he felt he should be at your side, not here, behind these closed doors. "Just let me in," Halsin pleaded, his forehead touching the wooden surface in resignation.
You wished he was here too. When you saw his shadow at the door, your heart ached with longing. You were scared he would think poorly of you, scared of losing control to the heat. You hadn't known each other for long, and perhaps it was too soon for him to see this side of you. But at the same time, you were devastated at the thought of being without him. Unsure of what to do, you began to cry, and when Halsin heard your sobs, he couldn't take it anymore.
"I'm going in!" he declared, his voice resolute as he forced the doors open. As soon as he entered the room, he clasped a hand over his mouth. There you lay on the bed, naked, the room dimly lit by the morning sun filtering through closed curtains. The scent of you filled the air, potent and overwhelming. Halsin thought perhaps you had second thoughts when you kissed for the first time, maybe things had moved too quickly, but he certainly wasn't expecting this.Â
His dick twitched. You were in heat, he realised. "Oh, Tav..." You looked so lost and uncomfortable, your body covered in sweat, your eyes watery. All he wanted to do now was to take you in his arms and never let go.
"Halsin, I feel so hot I can't breathe. Touch me, please," you said, your voice laced with need. Halsin was there in the split of a second, responding to your plea without hesitation.
He took you in his arms, placing you on his lap, and you moaned, the sound emanating from deep inside you. As your bodies touched, you couldn't understand why you had pushed him away before, when you kissed for the first time. He felt like he was made for you, and you for him. Thoughts swirled in your mind as he held you close, his hands roaming all over you, his head buried in your neck, sniffing and then licking with long strokes, revealing in your delicious scent.
You began to grind on his thighs, your pent-up arousal needing release. Desperation fuelled your movements. Halsin placed his rough, large hands on your hips, guiding and assisting your grinding motion. In seconds, you reached climax, moaning and gasping. But it wasn't enough. The heat subsided for just a brief moment. Afterwards, you were ready for more. You wanted Halsin deep inside your wet and willing pussy.
You took his hand in yours and guided him to your heated entrance. "I need you here, Halsin," you whispered urgently.
"And you will have me, my love," he assured, his voice thick with desire.
You didnât need to tell him twice. Halsin quickly took off his clothes. And thatâs how you saw his dick for the first time. It was huge, but somehow you suspected it will be. He seemed pleasantly heavy. He was already oozing pre-cum and fully erect. Ready for you.
You lay on your back as he returned to the bed, your legs parted, inviting him in. Slick all over your inner thighs and your entrance, guiding the way. He didnât even need to finger you. You were perfectly ready. Ready as he was.Â
Halsin kissed you passionately, causing your body to tremble with the intensity of the sensation. Every ounce of his desire and affection towards you was conveyed in that tender gesture.
"Halsin, pleaseâŚ" you moaned, your hips moving eagerly, your body yearning for more. His arousal at your entrance heightened your senses, driving you to the brink of madness. With a single swift motion, he guided himself inside you, and as he entered, you felt a rush of ecstasy that illuminated your senses like stars in the night sky. A scream of pleasure escaped your lips, echoing in the room, while he grunted softly in your ear, his eyes squeezed shut as he fought to maintain control. It was a challenge to remain composed when you felt so incredibly tight and warm around him. The urge to climax threatened to consume him, but he resisted, knowing that this moment was all about you. In this vulnerable state, you entrusted yourself to him, and he vowed to cherish you, to prioritise your pleasure above all else. You were his priority, and he would savour every moment with you.Â
As Halsin began to move, his motions were deliberate and measured, each thrust a testament to his desire to please you. One hand caressed your full breast, while the other gripped your thigh, spreading you wider to accommodate him. The sight of you, so beautiful and lewd, whimpering each time he showed his dick deep inside you, elicited a primal desire within him. Every whimper that escaped your lips drove him further, his arousal building with each thrust. He couldnât help but look at your exquisite, smooth pussy swallowing him over and over again.
"You are so good to me," Halsin murmured, his voice soft and filled with admiration, as he brushed a sticky strand of hair from your forehead before pressing a tender kiss to your skin.
As Halsin placed his thumb on your clitoris, his touch sent shivers of pleasure coursing through your body. With deft circular movements, he quickened his pace, driving you closer to the edge of ecstasy. In response, you instinctively wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him closer to you, craving the feeling of his muscles against yours, yearning for the weight of his body upon you.
His hard, deliberate strokes combined with the stimulation of your clitoris pushed you over the edge once more, eliciting another powerful climax. "Yes, yes, yes," you repeated, the words tumbling from your lips as your back arched and your inner muscles clenched in pleasure.
"Good girl," Halsin praised, his voice filled with satisfaction and pride. So responsive to his touch.
At this point, Halsin felt himself teetering on the edge of control. Sensing his impending release, he quickened his pace even further, his movements growing more urgent as his knot began to form. With each thrust, his desire to breed you, to fill you with his seed, consumed his thoughts entirely. He wanted nothing more than to hear you scream in pleasure beneath him.
As his movements became more erratic, more sloppy, he whispered urgently against your neck, "I need you to come for me one more time," his voice strained with desire. The sound of his groans mingled with yours, creating a symphony of pleasure as his flesh moved against yours in a passionate rhythm. In that moment, you felt an overwhelming sense of utter pleasure being in his arms, being taken by him, feeling his knot pressing against your entrance.
As his knot fully formed, Halsin pushed it into you, eliciting a gasp of pleasure from both of you. With three final, powerful thrusts, he released himself inside you, his loud moans reverberating through the room. In response, you screamed in ecstasy, your body convulsing with pleasure as you reached your third climax.
You took his knot so well, and he felt an intense rush of satisfaction as he emptied himself deep inside you. His dick, engorged and throbbing, remained buried in your tight, eager pussy, his knot ensuring that his seed would stay where it belonged. In that moment of shared bliss, you both relished the sensation of being joined so intimately, lost in the throes of passion and desire.
With Halsin lying on top of you, his weight pressing down on your smaller frame, you felt a sense of pure bliss wash over you. His presence enveloped you, providing a comforting sense of security. As he remained inside you, filling you completely, you relished the sensation of being pleasantly stretched by his size.
You never wanted him to leave your pussy, not even for a moment. The thought of his knot disappearing, signalling the end of this intimate connection, made you want to cry. But for now, he was still with you, his body pulsing with each release of his seed. You felt his warmth spreading inside you, filling your belly, and you surrendered to the overwhelming sensation of being completely claimed by him.

Narumitsu/AA fic rec list No.1
---- Multi-chapter ----
pressure (pushing down on me) ApprenticeofDoyle | @apprenticeofdoyle https://archiveofourown.org/works/28440966/chapters/69694179
miles edgeworth's terrible, no-good, very bad week ApprenticeofDoyle | @apprenticeofdoyle https://archiveofourown.org/works/29390913/chapters/72203136 (this one isn't completed but please listen to my advice: a fic does not need to be completed to be enjoyable and/or give you necessary feelings) This author writes so beautifully, go read both!!! The first one has such cute and emotional moments and there's a scene in particular I will cherish most dearly for all of eternity. The second one follows as the title says Miles's most terrible misfortunes (aka AAI), so enjoy his very well written struggles.
The Miraculous Disappearance Of Phoenix Wright JJsADragon | @4ragon https://archiveofourown.org/works/15341994 This is Phoenix-centric, narumitsu is background - it's so beautiful and it's full of Phoenix drama and... hear me out... Godot!!! But, being serious here. This one really struck me. I don't know, I don't quite have the words to explain. You need to experience it yourself. But I can say that it made me rethink my whole perception of Phoenix's character. Vacation All I Ever Wanted JJsADragon | @4ragon https://archiveofourown.org/works/25088599/chapters/60774496 Same author as previous one and what can I say? It's gorgeous go read it. Also side note I actually laughed out loud at very very frequent intervals.
Saturation (ongoing) TiedyedTrickster | @greentrickster https://archiveofourown.org/works/20272603/chapters/48054286 Already talked about this previously....: It's a Miles-POV fic, sweet & cute, emotional, with an amazing sense of humor. The character relationships are chef's kiss. Absolutely brilliant all around.
The Things We Agree to Believe are True actual_goblin | @metaphorical-goblin https://archiveofourown.org/works/42658245/chapters/107157108 I think this is the kind of thing you need to read without any explaination whatsoever. It's just... an adventure, I would call it, and very very beautiful, so just jump in. There is one thing I can say though. If you like character exploration, to a degree that is frankly out of this universe, GO.
Kindred timepatches | @monimolimnion https://archiveofourown.org/works/28852137/chapters/70772769 It's about Miles adopting Pess! And it makes him realize a few things. It's so so very heartwaming. Set during the 7y gap. I think whatever I say might spoil it so I'll just describe how it made me feel! Fuzzy. Warm. Sappy. Cozy like wrapped in a blanket in winter with a nice cup of cocoa in hand. ---- One-shots ----
pressed beneath the burden of proof harmony | @harmonization https://archiveofourown.org/works/57174151 So very very very well written - I love how the author describes thoughts and emotions... it felt like I was feeling them myself.
Trials, Texts, and Tribulations bluemoodblue | @blue-mood-blue https://archiveofourown.org/works/20590601 Just very very sweet and with such nice subtlety it made me scream internally-- I love subtle things.
A Boy at the Airport KrisseyCrystal (IceCreAMS) | @krisseycrystal https://archiveofourown.org/works/29741124 Kid Apollo + Wrightworth. cute too cute too extremely cute family feelings overload ---- my heart is flying away...
Code to My Heart SnowOnVenus | @legayllyblonde https://archiveofourown.org/works/57499360 Incredibly beautiful and the drawings made to accompany it are absolutely charming and so fitting to the story... I especially love how Edgeworth's character was explored here. This will forever be inprinted in my heart.
To be honest there are so many more so I will probably make more lists in the future, as I also need to reread things (I have terrible, terrible memory)... hence the '1' on the title.
#aa fic rec#ace attorney#narumitsu#phoenix wright#miles edgeworth#wrightworth#aa fic#I had this in my drafts for a long time because I wanted to add more but I figured I can just do a part 2 in the future

Astarion Very Happy Ending, Part 2
Hey y'all, so I did a part two of this because I love happy, insanely, fluffy romantic endings. So I'm going hard here. There will be one more part!
Also, don't judge my Gale x Shadowheart bs here đđ Long story short, first playthrough that was abanadoned, I picked her orgin and did get sweeped up by the mage man. It has not left my brain since.
Also, this has a time skip! A pretty long one too (10 years)
~
Astarion had been having⌠thoughts lately. Ideas that he couldnât quite shake. Nothing bad, no. There really wasnât much to complain about in his life, not anymore. Not when he could walk in the sun freely, unburdened by parasites and his own vampiric nature. The two of you were free to explore the world with no shackles, not including your religious zealotry. And ironically enough, his own.Â
Astarion would never have guessed that heâd ever become a Selune convert. Well⌠even now convert may have been to strong of a word. Yes, he was immensely appreciative for the whole sun immunity blessing and he did have a newfound respect for the work of her worshippers. But Astarion wasnât exactly looking for a deity, or anyone, to be subservient to. Not again. No, heâd much rather watch his love do the dirty work for his savior than fully commit himself. Besides, just because he wasnât devoted to Selune didnât mean he wasnât devoted to you. Which might as well have been the same thing.Â
Astarion loved you, adored you really, but gods could you be nonsensical at times. He was so happy the two of you had met because someone had to keep this idiotic fanatic alive. Someone to remind you that no darling, not everyone is redeemable. Please put the goblin down.
But heâd be lying if he said he didnât enjoy being your protector. It was the least that he could do considering everything youâd done for him. And he just⌠liked having a valid excuse to accompany you everywhere. Astarion had never imagined himself to be such a clingy lover, but here he was. The two of you had been attached at the hip for nearly a decade now, with no end in sight. You had built a life together, had friends together, adventures and celebrations that filled his days with endless excitement and amusements.
That is one thing Astarion had to give Selune and her worshippers, they didnât exactly lead boring lives. Though he supposed half of that had to with just how involved the opposition was. The two of you had slaughtered enough acolytes of Shar over the years for him to know just how covert they really could be. But it wasnât just bloodsport that made things interesting, though it certainly did help. The exploring for ancient artifacts definitely helped to fill the time, as well as the constant search to find a cure for the rest of his unholy symptoms.Â
As great as being in the sun was, Astarion wasnât quite satisfied with that being the end. It was almost certainly impossible to find a full on cure to being a vampire spawn but⌠that wasnât stopping either of you from looking for it. It was morbid, but Astarion wanted his life to have an ending. A natural one like what he hoped for you, not one where he was doomed to immortality and bloodlust until the end of time.Â
Thank the gods that he had managed to fall in love with an elf. It at least gave him centuries instead of decades to figure out a solution to an eternal problem. Which brought him back to his current problem. Because the two of you had many, many years ahead. And as far as Astarion was aware you both planned on spending them with each other. Which implied⌠certain things.
Astarion had never been someone to fantasize about marriage. He had no reason to, not when he had been too busy barely surviving. Even when things became serious between the two of you it hadnât been on his mind. He was much more concerned with keeping you at all instead of keeping you forever.Â
But that had changed recently. Maybe it was because he had seen you officiate countless weddings over the years; young couples always clamoring at a chance to get a newlywed Selune blessing. Or maybe it was how others took note of the lack of a ring on his finger, taking it as an opportunity for unwanted flirtation. But either way, he couldnât stop thinking about it. Obsessing about it really, as he was want to do when it came to you.
He just⌠didnât exactly know how to broach the subject. What was the reason? A silly little ceremony and a ring had no bearing on the depth of your relationship. He knew that. The two of you were bound to each other by choice, a love that felt as though it got stronger every day. But⌠it would be nice to have you in such a way. For the world to be aware of the seriousness of what you had together, shown simply through a pair of rings. And the thought of calling you his wife was quite enticing.Â
He wasnât quite sure why he was so hesitant to bring it up to you. Well⌠there was the slight delusional thought in his head that reminding you of forever could possible wake you up into realizing just how much better you could do than him. It wasnât true, he was aware. But gods, your relationship had lasted a damn decade. When was he going to start feeling secure about all of this?Â
It didnât help when Gale of all people beat him to the punch. He and Shadowheart had developed quite the bond since your tadpole days. And your excitement over the announcement was adorable. Adorable enough for him to wonder just how you would react to it happening to you.
But he shoved his worries to the back of his mind, too busy being dragged all the way to Waterdeep for the week-long nuptials. You were highly involved in the wedding, which wasnât exactly a shock. Shadowheart had stayed your best, most appreciated friend throughout the years, the two of you eternally tied through your shared goddess alone. You wrote to each other constantly and this was far from the first time you had dragged him across the realm for a visit.Â
But this was probably the best time. He had to give the people of Waterdeep this, they knew how to celebrate. He wasnât one to complain over a week filled of music, dance, and drink. The ceremony had been nice as well. Heart-warming even to watch Shadowheart walk down the aisle, smiling in a way she never could when she was devoted to Shar. With Gale sniveling at the other end and you officiating of course.Â
The jealousy had been an unexpected touch. He couldnât help but wonder what you would look like in her place. Dressed in white and silver, walking towards him with eternity in mind.Â
It certainly wasnât helping his dilemma, he could tell you that much. He was still thinking about it when they made it to the reception. It was impossible to bury thoughts of marriage when you were at a wedding. Would you want a large celebration like this? Or something more small and intimate? Hells, the two of you and a cleric in the middle of the woods would suffice to him.Â
âTo think, Astarion AncunĂn at my wedding in the sunlight,â Gale laughed as he plopped down in the seat next to him, effectively putting an end to his internal fretting, âWho would have ever imagined?â
âCertainly not me,â Astarion scoffed with the slightest hint of a smile, âBut I suppose things change.â
âI suppose they do,â Gale agreed, his eyes scanning the dancefloor for his new bride. There she was, dancing and giggling with you in the middle of ballroom, âI just never expected it to be for the better.â
âIt is a wonder that weâre all still alive,â Astarion agreed, smiling to himself when Shadowheart dipped you as you laughed hysterically, nearly falling over herself in the process, âLet alone being able to find love. Who would have thought the worshiper of the goddess of the dark would end up here.â
âTurns out she was hiding quite the personality behind the Shar mask,â Gale laughed, âThough I suppose we have Tav to thank for that. It was a real fight on who would have her as their best woman. A fight we both obviously lost. Though officiating seemed a good compromise.â
âShe certainly has the experience,â Astarion sighed, âBut I have a feeling this one will be her favorite. Sheâs happy for you two. We both are.â
âIâm happy for you too you know,â Gale added with a small smile, âI always thought the two of you would work out. I even made a killing in the pool we had going on for it.â
Astarion stared at him, brow raised, âYou had a pool?â
âOh absolutely,â Gale confirmed, completely shameless as he listed out the rules, âIt got quite competitive after awhile. First, it was all about if youâd ever realize your feelings for her. Then when you went and did that we were betting on how long youâd both last before you left. And then when that didnât happen, well. Letâs just say I got a few platinums richer.â
Astarion rolled his eyes at the news, barely even surprised, âI feel as though Iâve earned a cut of that.â
âUnfortunately itâs now our honeymoon fund. But Iâll owe you one.â
That was another aspect of this whole debacle that Astarion hadnât even thought about. But gods, did it sound nice. Whole weeks dedicated strictly to the two of you. No religious duties or adventures to worry about, just⌠them.Â
The joy of the thought must have shown on his face, because the next thing he knew Gale was looking him up and down, a small smirk on his lips, âWhatâcha thinking about over there?â
âThat this wine is mediocre at best,â Astarion lied, avoid Galeâs eyes, âTell me you at least got a good deal on it?â
But Gale wasnât taking the bait. He was still watching him like a hawk. That was the problem with getting closer to people, and having, gods friends.Â
You had to deal with the discomfort of being read like a book, âDoes our little Astarion want to be wed?â
Astarion flinched at the accuracy, taking the time to shoot him a glare as he avoided the question, âI am nearly three centuries older than you.â
âPerhaps, but we both know two of them donât count,â Gale said, barely missing a beat, âSo tell me, do you already have a ring picked out?â
âI have no idea what youâre talking about.â
âI can help you pick one you know, there are many fantastic jewelers in Waterdeep. I believe she has the same ring size as Shadowheart, we can bring her along.â
Astarion rolled his eyes, ignoring the small blush creeping up his neck, âI want you to know that if this wasnât your wedding day I would have slapped you by now. Consider my reluctance as your wedding present.â
âHow generous of you,â Gale chuckled. But then he started to speak quieter, his voice taking on a more gentle and serious tone, âShe would say yes you know. Youâve had her wrapped around your finger since the day you held that dagger to her throat.â
That was an exaggeration, but Astarion would be lying if he said the mention didnât make him preen the slightest bit, âYou forget that I did have competition.â
âOh, barely,â Gale laughed, âYou donât get to reminisce of what could have been when you won. Gods, no one had any chance against you. And trust me, we tried.â
Astarion blinked at him, more than a little surprised, âYou did?â
âOf course we did. We all did. What do you think Shadow and I bonded over? But the pining stopped eventually. Then it becameâŚsomething more. Something deeper. Sheâs⌠a magnificent woman, my little shadow. Who has gone through too muchâŚâ Gale trailed off, his eyes still following his bride as he softly smiled, âSuffice to say, neither of us are pining anymore. And Iâm sure Shadow would love nothing more than to help plan her dearest friendâs nuptials.â
âWho ever said that you two would be involved?â Astarion scoffed, just to be an ass, âFor all you know weâll elope in Neverwinter.â
But Astarionâs grip backfired, if the smile on Galeâs face meant anything, âSo that means you are going to propose?â
Oh for fucks sake. Astarion glared at him for the accuracy, at a loss for words. Besides it⌠it was true. Of course he was going to ask, where else would this fanatic line of thinking end? He just hadnât expected Gale of all people to be the one to force him to admit it.Â
âI-yes,â Astarion sighed, finally giving in, âAre you happy now? Yes, Iâm going to.â
âExtremely,â Gale grinned, âBecause you just won me another three hundred gold.â

I love Shadowheart. She was my bae throughout my first (unfinished) Tav run. I abandoned that run because Astarion convinced me I needed to restart as Durge for him, but Shadowheart forever holds a very special place in my⌠well, heart.
Iâve been thinking about the contrast between them and their arcs and the way fandom interacts with them.
They both start off as characters that by D&D standards are âevil.â Shar is an evil aligned goddess, and vampires are evil aligned creatures.
However, Shadowheart isnât evil. She disapproves of actively evil decisions and approves of kindness to animals and the helpless. She just doesnât like it if you seem to be putting do-goodery above your search for a cure to the tadpoles. She is fine with killing the grove, but the contrast between her at the tiefling party and the goblin party shows pretty starkly how she really feels.
Astarion starts off the game evil. I will fucking fight anyone on this. He has very very good reasons to be evil, but so does Shadowheart⌠and sheâs not. Astarion enjoys chaos, he likes murder, he likes hurting people. He thinks being âgoodâ is weak and stupid and that might be a trauma response, but it is how he genuinely feels at that point in his story.
And yet. AND YET. For some reason, I have never seen anyone complain about making Shadowheart a Dark Justiciar. If she likes you, you actually have to encourage her to kill Nightsong. Even on my evil run, she spared Aylin if I didnât tell her not to. You have to either not care about her or intervene to make her evil, and right up to the end where she kills her parents and Shar wipes her memory again, she is just so miserable and resigned to what sheâs been influenced to be.
But people do it to get the hotter sex scene or whatever and thatâs fine.
But Astarion? The man who spends the whole fucking game begging you to help him take over an evil cult and murder his âfamilyâ so he can become a living vampire as soon as he realises it might be an option? The guy who will throw a fit and leave you if you donât either succeed in a persuasion check or help him eternally damn 7007 peopleâ no matter how close youâve gotten to him?
Apparently youâre an evil piece of shit if you find his âbadâ ending compelling or, dare I say it, hot.
I donât really care which ending you prefer for either characterâ I think the game does a great job on its own telling you what you should think and itâs fairly nuanced for both characters. I just donât understand why Astarion has to be so woobified and his âbadâ ending fans vilified as if theyâre naive morons with no media literacy.
Shadowheart, the character, hates her âbadâ ending way more than Astarion, the character, hates his. And fandom canât reflect this because I donât knowâŚ
Oh god. Itâs sexism isnât it?

Ditko's legacy
a really interesting thing i noticed about steve ditko is that not only he was a prolific creator of iconic comic book characters. but the pattern that his characters follow to fame is particularly odd and it tends to repeat itself.
let's start with the most iconic of all, mist aracnid human himself
an interesting thing is that ditko only drew spiderman until issue 38, afterwards the art was taken over by john romita sr.
in many ways romita's version of spiderman is the definitive interpretation. whereas under ditko peter was actually kind of an immature, prepotent jerk, under romita he became a lot softer and classically heroic. romita is also the guy who designed mary jane watson, it was under his tenure that the green goblin's identity as norman osborn was revealed. in many ways john romita's work was was finally turned spiderman into marvel's mascot.
so neat, right, what else did steve ditko do. well, he created another iconic character for marvel. a very Strange Doctor indeed
for this guy i dont have as much history but i think it would be fair that he was relatively an obscure character, someone you were not familiar with unless you were really into superhero comics... until 2016
when he was interpreted by superstar tumblr sexyman extraordinaire benedicto cumberbacho. thanks to that and his role in the avenger's endgame movie now the guy is a bit of an icon and a respectable IP on his own right.
but we can go even more obscure than that, let's check another character created by ditko, a character so obscure that is literally incognito
created in 1967 by ditko for a now defunct company called charlston comics. his original appearance was actually incredibly short lived. so much so that he was cancelled that very same year he was created.
but then, in 1987, dennis O'neil decided that he was interested in that character and so we got
in here the character was radically changed from a staunch objectivist into more of a zen buddhist philosopher. in many ways o'neils run is the best run the question ever had and the version that tends to be the heavier inspiration for all other subsequent adaptations.
but actually how about we go even more obscure than that, how about we go to a shady guy driven to madness...
once again, ditko made, in 1977 for DC, a strange man from another dimension whom, with the help of his stolen M-vest he could transform into a huge difigured version of himself. as ditko was wont to do, his stories were very surrealistic and psychodelic. as is often the case his work was cancelled after only 8 issues. forgotten by time until, courtesy of the british invasions of the 80's/90's on the comic scene, we got
a story that became far more explicitly political, a crude, surrealist examination of the american culture, touching on topics such as alcholism, the hippie movement, gender theory and abortion. an absolute masterpiece if you want my opinion and probably one of the best comics ever made. once again all other successive adaptation we got of the character tend to borrow a lot more from this version than from the original.
ok one final stop in this ride of ditko creations. who else is left you may wonder, is there something this guy has not created? well, you see ditko could be a heady philosophical creator but he was not above being a little silly from time to time, and that is how he ended up coming up with
yes you heard that right, squirell girl!
ok to be fair, this one was not created by ditko, he was just the artist. the actual creator is will murray, but bear with me here.
created for a superhero special in 1991 as a fun jokey character, she was never really meant to have her own book or series or anything like that.
after being introduced she kept appearing her and there and with every new appearence the gag that she could beat any character started to get built up more and more, beating dr doom, thanos, eternity and god knows who else until finally, in 2014, she actually got her own run written by none other than the creator of dinosaur comic Ryan North
not going to lie, i personally always thought the art was really bad, but it became a fairly popular book, getting high praise from most critics and even winning an eisner award in 2017
conclussion
i think it's absolutely fascinating that ditko has this pattern of creating incredibly iconic characters who become popular and known by a later adaptation by another artist who takes the character on a whole new direction. he seems to be really good a seeding ideas and establishng concepts but there are fertile grounds in the hands of other artists.
if there is one character that has survived this process is his strong, stalwart, objectivist hero who thinks in incredibly rigid, unbreakable rules about good and evil, up and down, black or white.
mr A
and why is that? well, its very simple, the ancient greek philosophers already established this millenia ago. everythng that exsts has a specific nature, each entity exists as something in particular and has characteristics and has characteristics of what it is.
A is A.

the thing that sold me on pillars of eternity was eorn. i tried to play the game three or four times before reaching him. i found the combat unfun and the premise generic, so i didn't touch it for years. i thought i knew what the game was offering: swords and sorcery and binary good vs. evil heroism by the guys who wrote some of the best fallout games. i assumed orlans and aumaua were merely a take on goblins and orcs respectively.
then i met eorn. and he talked about oppression as it actually functions. and i realized this game was so much more than i thought.
orlans don't fall in to the usual trappings of othered groups in fantasy stories, they aren't touched by an evil god or cast-offs from an alien realm or mindless agents of chaos. they're people. they want what everyone else wants, fulfilling lives and warm homes and good company. beyond being visually distinct from the majority races(elves and humans) there's nothing that makes them truly different. but this, coupled with being smaller than everyone else, has left orlans easy targets for social othering and physical abuse.
eorn was happy, he had a good job, he had friends. then a person in a position of power took offense to the idea of someone he saw as lesser disagreeing with him. eorn was terrified he'd be killed to reinforce the social hierarchy. trying to act in self defense lead to his attacker dying, and when we meet him, he's hiding from an arrest warrant. he knows he won't get a fair trial and just wants to leave the city for good. he can't have his life back, an insecure bigot destroyed it on a whim.
other members of the same group, the crucible knights, refer to orlans as animals and "creatures". the narrative itself never entertains this idea. orlans are never presented as uniquely animalistic. hiravias spiritshifts. he's also trilingual, introspective, witty, compassionate- and he threatens to gore anyone who even implies orlans aren't quite people, but this is never condemned by the game or most characters.
his passionate defense of both his personhood and the personhood of others is occasionally painted as comedic but never totally unjustified or immoral. orlans are written like anyone else, with the caveat that all of them are aware of your privilege and their lack of it because that's a pressure they've felt their entire lives. hiravias immediately pulls away and capitulates if you choose certain dialogue upon meeting him, ailef and eorn beg you to simply let them live because most don't care if they die, kurren won't talk back if you snap at him despite being visibly hurt.
i definitely think this was the right call. showing orlans as people makes those who call them lesser seem fittingly close-minded and irrational. so many stories try to "show both sides" of social conflict. to say, yes, it's bad to ostracize and abuse a group of people, but here's where the rumors started, here's an exception to that rule, here's a way to make the player feel less evil for choosing to reinforce the social hierarchy if they just don't like the look of orlans.
by not doing that, the narrative itself sympathizes with the plight of the oppressed(such as they exist within pillars of eternity's universe). it still takes the time to explore grounded situations but without humoring the idea that oppressed people are somehow responsible for the circumstances they were born into or that they're on equal footing with their oppressors. it shows us what life is like under oppression without initially letting the ruling class speak, telling us to observe how people suffer to survive before showing us what rewards the oppressors reap, which in turn makes it even easier to empathize with the oppressed. it's such a refreshing change from, well, the vast majority of genre fiction.
(i don't want to be a coward and hide this in the tags so i'll add that i'm white and that most orlans, eorn in particular as a window into police violence through a fantasy lens, are racially coded. it's not my place to say whether that coding is appropriate or handled well overall. i just wanted to praise certain elements of their presentation, please let me know if i spoke out of turn.)
#pillars of eternity#there's also the fact orlans are physically ostracized.#they're catboys with dwarfism. genuinely. difficult births and health problems leading to reduced lifespans and all.#another fact that plays in to the narrative and i'm not qualified to dive too deep into.#still. pertinent to mention it somewhere i think.

was sweeping up some map completion for a gift of exploration and just got reminded of so many cool things I like about original gw2/worldbuilding
I love Orr and how weird and alien it is. The ambience of sitting there with everything damp, dripping, made of coral, literally a lost world that doesn't fit above water any more. I love how oily the sky is and that occasionally a huge shadow sweeps over you as something like Blightghast/other risen dragons go by overhead. I love that it looks like this
It's so otherworldly. I especially like the eerie birdcalls (I know it's just a real bird I'm not used to, but it's so unique and strange)
I like that the end of the Pact storyline doesn't feel... hopeful. At all. Orr is blighted and diseased, mottled with decay, with lost journals from people who were never going to survive. I like that the story culminates here, grandiose but mournful. You're trying again but this place you're in was already lost, with thousands of lives, and it doesn't feel like triumphant reclaiming. I like that none of the game through these >10 years has really framed oncoming war, and fighting to survive, with glory. I like that the fight through Orr doesn't really feel righteous. It's no clash against a tyrant or something with belief in good over 'evil'. It's just sad. Trying to get through and survive it.
I like the clearly LOTR-emulating Orr music, particularly how this one goes into a male chorus at the end-
youtube
I like how an entire map is called Malchor's Leap and that clues you in to it being named after something and then you can go find out and it's just even more depressing. But at the same time, it reiterates the history of Orr - that human gods lived there and it must have been full of incredible splendour and that's gone and you will never see it, you can only try to imagine based on the wrecks of cathedrals.
And speaking of the human gods, I just like how each race has their own take on religion and they all get something tailored to their outlook. Nobody disputes one religion over the other like in our world - each one is generally assumed to be true on some level, and in some cases, provably real, but each race gets something different from their history and belief system anyway. Humans used to live alongside their gods but have been abandoned and none of them know why (and we eventually do find out what happened). Norn can invoke a governing spirit from any creature alive and choose the one that they'll serve best, but these spirits can be killed and you can see what happens when they mourn them. Sylvari have a stone of commandments from their long-dead benefactor that has completely fucked up their society because they aren't sure if following the tenets is wise or brainwashing. Asura actually believe there is an equation that can solve the entire universe and everything is part of a grand scheme beyond knowing, which is something more like a philosophy than religion but deserves mentioning because it means the Intellectual Goblin Race weren't made into cut and dry atheists as a cliche. They believe in something and have personal interpretations about it. One of them even made a machine to make the Eternal Alchemy viewable that drove someone insane when they used it and I just like how things asura do tend to backfire.
And the Charr. I mean. They're the atheists and it's all because they were duped into technically following a human god for a while and they're never going to get over-- no, wait. They started getting over it and the Flame Legion integrated with regular society again after their leader was deposed, because things moved forward and changed, and I like that too.
I feel like I can talk and talk on and on about this fictional history because it... just.... works? It's all part of a tapestry of cause and effect and meaningful characterisations. And they deliberately set up the basis for their playable races and then made the story NPCs generally turn those expectations around - Caithe being a grief-ridden assassin, Rox being a superstitious oddball, Zojja being irrational, Canach starting out as a pompous asshole.
I like the Ceera is still around in HoT and if you took the personal story route where her husband died, she still hasn't forgiven you and never does.
I loved Zafirah (bring her back!) showing that badly rooted spirituality can be redirected into something healthy and healing without being negated.
I like how many NPCs show up as part of a story step and you can ask if you know them and they'll say oh, yeah I was in the Pact with that whole thing? Or 'I saw you from a medical tent in maguuma and didn't think I'd make it', constant callbacks and the sense that minor characters have a continuous existence independent of you.
I like how solemnly the game takes its wins. The initial campaign against Zhaitan makes sure to kill characters off and made bringing Destiny's Edge along to it feel like its own entire obstacle. Heart of Thorns smashes any confidence the Pact has after the base game and takes an intentional sacrifice to be won, and I still think about him. Going after a literal god in Path of Fire costs you your life. Going after Kralkatorrik, with Destiny's Edge's guilt weighing on you, costs you your own child. Saving the fate of the world by fulfilling the exact conditions for Aurene to ascend costs you your child again, being taken from you so that the whole world stops rocking on its axis, losing your baby as she turns into a deity. Icebrood Saga puts you in the shoes of a relatable, easygoing crew on the opposing side, then sits back and waits for you to kill them all to continue. When you fight the final dragon as the final boss in Dragon's End you don't want to kill her at all, and she begs you to leave and get away so she won't harm you while you try, in bitterness and desperation, to end her unfathomably long life.
And the entire short but brilliant arc with Joko made sure we don't really feel empowered or just about the choices we've made.
It's just. Been really fucking good.

I apparently never posted the Labyrinth AU? Maybe? If I did I canât find it. Oops
I doubt Iâll ever turn this into a fic but thereâs a story summary bellow. It was kind of collectively came up with on discord. So this is not only my story anyone is welcome to do whatever they want with it.
Hux Is a theater major and his baby brother Techie is obsessed with fairytales. Hux doesnât believe in it of course. I mean who would? but he loves his brother so every night he reads him his favorite story. The story about the goblin king. Their father Brendol thinks this is stupid. His sons shouldnât be engaging in such foolish girly things. And after an argument in which Techie began to cry he asked the goblin king to take him away. He had no idea of course that the goblin king was real and had fallen madly in love with his eldest son Hux. when the king took Techie away Hux was furious, but his father would do nothing, not even believing the goblins were real and not caring that his youngest son was missing. So Hux set off of brave the labyrinth.
Of course Goblin King Kylo had no intention of harming the child. Techie was having fun with the Kingâs goblin knights. But he wanted to meet Hux and convince him to be his queen.
Hux faced many trials along the way and met many interesting characters, Like Babu Frik a worm who lived in the labyrinth. He hated the goblin king for taking his brother from him but upon meeting him in a dream like ball- he himself adorned in a magical ball gown- he could not deny the feelings he had for the strange man.
In the end he saw how happy Techie was and he decided to stay and become the Goblin queen. They would later rescue many other children from their awful parents and raise them in the goblin realm.
And whatever happened to Hux and Techieâs father? Well you see, he was tossed in the bog of eternal stench. A fate far worse than death.

THE HADDONFIELD BOOGEYMAN â EVAN BUCKLEY
SUMMARY: Halloween can be scary, especially with a pyscho killer running around town.
WARNING(S): Angst, fluff, mentions of blood, mentions of massacre and dying
WORD COUNT: 2,523
PAIRING: Evan Buckley x fem!Reader
A/N: I hope you guys enjoy it! Feedback is always welcomed!
MASTERLIST
2018, Haddonfield, Illinois
Travesty broke through the town of Haddonfield again. It appeared that nothing could kill the man named Michael Myers. Yet man seemed like an oversimplification. Someone who could take hit after hit. That wasnât a man, he was the eternal of evil, and he was wreaking havoc on Halloween night again.
And what better way than for you to spend your Halloween. Slumping it with a nice cold beer at Micâs Bar. Watching the oh so talent your neighbors and friends possess. You raised your beer to the previous girl group who finished up. Applause rumbled up the bar. You took another sip of your beer then checked your phone. No messages from Buck yet. He usually checked up at this hour of the night, but you wouldnât hold it against him. His job required his full attention. âAnother round Y/n?â The bartender caught your attention. You sighed and put your phone down.
âKeep them coming!â
âLadies and gentleman, Iâd like to introduce our next Thespian, now I used to bust this guyâs balls when we were kids, but he is all grown up now, and heâs become the most captivatingâŚbird whistler.â Lonnie Elam ran off stage and then walked on, Tommy Doyle.Â
âHey everybody.â
You turn around on the stool and rest your back against the counter. If you were gonna stay here, then you were gonna enjoy the most of it.
âUhh Lonnie put me up to this shit.â Tommy adjusted the mic stand to his liking. âIâm not gonna whistle for yaâŚinstead Iâm gonna tell you a story.â
âGhost and Goblins!â
You chuckled at the girl who shouted out. That got everyone to laugh.
âAny of you know the story about Haddonfieldâs Boogeyman?â When he got no reply he continued. âToo young to give a shit, too drunk to remember?â
It was silent. Yet he kept going.
âForty years ago, a madman escaped from a mental hospital. It was the night before Halloween and three teenage girls were walking home from Haddonfield High. They had sightings ofâŚa ghost-like figure creeping right through our town. A man in a white mask, or was it more than a manâŚâ A shiver ran down your spine as you pulled down your long sleeve shirt. âHe was watching them. Before the night was over, three people would be murdered. And the house next door, there was a babysitter, and a young boy and a young girl, and they were brutally attacked by this stalker. Who had a power, beyond any mortal man.â Whispers and chatter arose amongst everyone. âMy name is Tommy DoyleâŚand I was that young boy.â Gasp of disbelief could be heard in the crowd. âSo please join me in commemorating the victims and the survivors of Michael Myers.â You brought your hands together to clap along with everyone. It was touching. âNow we have the lovely Miss Lindsey Wallace, her babysitter Amy Brackett was executed that night. Now we have Miss Marion Chambers, she survived an assault. We have Lonnie Elam.â Tommy took the big spotlight and shined it down on each three of them. âLonnie survived a face to face encounter.â Your eyes grew big. Your parents and friends always told you it was a myth. You were one of those âI gotta see it to believe itâ types. Safe to say youâve never encountered Michael Myers. Not really sure what youâd do or howâd you react if you did, but hearing other people survive him, it scared you half to death.
Yet you wouldnât know that the only reason they survived was because they were children at the time, and Michael Myers never killed children.
âItâs Halloween night in Haddonfield, when terror is supposed to be funâŚâ Tommy stared into the crowd. âWhen we hide behind masks, and we pretend we arenât who we are. Is he realâŚwho knows? Whoâs next? Maybe not tonight, maybe not tomorrow, but the Boogeyman is coming for me, and heâs coming for you, but heâs not gonna get us. Not this time! Because we will never succumb to fear. This is for your Laurie! Wherever you are!â
You grabbed your drink and raised it up in salute to this Laurie chick. You gulped down the rest of your drink and asked Brian for another one. âBrian can I have one more?â You raised your pointer finger.
âThat makes three nowâŚand you drove here right?â He asked you.Â
âMhmm.â
He scoffed and came back with-
âWater? I asked for a beerâŚâ
âAnd I need a raise for taking care of you careless drinkers, but you know whatâŚâÂ
âWhat?â You laughed rolling your eyes.
âLifeâs a bitch like that.â You pouted and traced the rim of the glass. âDrink your water!â He gestured to the glass in front of you.
âAlright, alright.âÂ
-
âCopy that. Utilities are being shut down!â
Buck slammed his shoulder into a door of the house looking around and calling out for any survivors.
âWe got a gas fed fire in here!â Buck spoke into his walkie.
His partner that was with him gestured to him to continue moving forward. âTen-four. Stand by!â
âCopy!â Buck dragged the heavy hose then released the water. Hoping to reduce the amount of fire that was spreading like crazy.
âAssignment complete! Utilities are disengaged.â
âCopy! Eyes on the roof. Watch out.â Buck warned as some of the wood from the floor was starting to break. âWith me!â
âCommand ladder 13, do you copy?â
As he kept walking further into the house the radio chatter became indistinctive. He was worried he was missing something.
âThis is Buck with Engine 118, I didnât quite catch that!â
Nothing could be heard but the loud crashing that came from behind him. He whipped around and walked closer to the edge.
âMayday, mayday, mayday, we have a firefighter down. Thereâs been a structural collapse. We have a firefighter that fell through. I repeat we have a firefighter down, over!â He peered down. âBrenton you okay?â
âM-My air supply is busted.â He then pulled his emergency alert button on his portable radio.Â
âRadio silence, we have a mayday alert!â
âIâm gonna get you out of there, okay? Just hang tight alright.â Buck called out to him. Brenton called out to his radio. âThis is Brenton with Engine 8. Thereâs been a structural collapse. M-My air supply is compromised. PASS alarm has been activatedâŚOh shit!â Brentonâs eyes widened as he saw a masked figure standing not more than a few feet away from where he lay.
âCome in, Engine 13, Engine 118.â
âThereâs somebody else down here!â Brentom exclaimed as the man walked over to him. He was then kicked in the face making him head his head against the ground.
âBrenton!â Buck watched with wide eyes as the man started beating the shit out of him. âDo you copy?â
Brenton felt his world stop as finally realized who hovered over him. It was Michael Myers. He cried out as he saw the pick ax being raised. âBuck run!â
âNo!â Buck cried out for the man, but stumbled back as Michael turned around to look up at him. Buck didnât think for a second to get the hell out of there.
-
It had been some time late in the evening when every phone in that damn bar started going off and chimming.
âOh my god!â Marion gasped. âTommy look, hey turn it up!â
Brian turned the Tv on, and what popped up on the screen had turned out to be your worst nightmare yet.
ââŚat the service station earlier today. This evening four bodies were discovered in three homes along the same residential street. Residents of North Haddonfield are on high alert. Officials are investigating.â The newsported announced. The man followed up with a report about a house fire, but what was said about a huge massacre of firefighters made your heart plummet to your feet.
âHey isnât Buck on that call?â Brian pointed out to you.
Your glass shattered to the floor as you stood up grabbing your coat and keys. âOh my god!â You felt like you were gonna throw up.
âHey itâs not safe out there.â The man Tommy called after you. âY/n!â
âItâs not safe anywhere!â You pushed your way through people to get to the door.Â
âY/n, be careful!â Brian called out after you.
-
âGot a goddamn massacre on our hands.â Sheriff Baker stood up from peering inside of the car with a decapitated head inside. âGraham.â
âYes sir!â
âEstablish a perimeter.âÂ
âCopy that!â
Sheriff Bakker walked around the car to fully inspect the blood shed before him. Firefighters dropped dead on the lawn. Heads bashed into, you could hardly even recognize them anymore. âMotherfucker!â
When you got to the location you had quickly put the car in park. The car rolled a centimeter as you got out. You looked at all the chaos, mostly seeing officers, andâŚ
âS-Sheriff Barker!â You ducked under the âdo not crossâ tape line and ran towards the tragic scene before you.
âAttention, all responders. Be advised we have a violent criminal at large, armed and dangerous.â Graham spoke into his megaphone. âWe will deploy all units of frontline and tactical officers to search the area. This fugitive is on footâŚand his name is Michael Myers!â
You stumbled back seeing the mess Michael left behind. All what once was the boogeyman used to scare children to go sleep or eat their veggies was now a reality. None of the firefighters were spared, and if that were the truth then that meantâŚ.You were pulled out of your daze feeling hands lightly push you away from the scene.
âY/n, Iâm gonna need you to step back, you canât be here right now.â
âIs my fiance here? I need to know if Buckâs here?â You brushed past him trying to look for him.Â
âY/n please-â
âH-Has anyone seen Evan Buckley? First responder Evan Buckley! Heâs with Engine 118. Please, has anyone seen my fiancĂŠ!â You frantically looked around, shouting and trying to get the attention of any of the officers around you. Your breathing was growing uneven with every swivel of a turn and whip of your head you did.
âEvan!â You cupped your mouth glancing over at the dead first responders. âOh g-godâŚâ You almost threw up at the scene. Dead wasnât even the correct term to describe the horrid scene before you. You didnât even want to imagine that Evan could be amongst the bodies. âEvan!â You shouted out again. âEvan-â
âY-Y/n?â
You turned around and let out a broken sob. There he was. He wasnât dead, he wasnât dead. You kept repeating to yourself. The love of your life wasnât dead. You ran over to him. When you reached him, you didnât know how to grab him, whether or not to tighten your grip on him or wrap your legs around him like your life depended on it. You didnât know. You pulled him in close. Your hand curling around the back of his head of hair. His face falling into the crook of your neck.
âOh my god!â You thanked whoever the hell was listening to you. âI thought you were dead. I thought he killed you. A-Are you hurt?â You examined him for any injuries. Buck shook his head no.
âIâm okay, I promise. I hid in the woods as soon as he killed the captain.â He whimpered into your neck. âI-I didnât do anything, I didnât help anyone. I just ran like a cowardâŚâ It was your turn to shake your head.
âNo, Evan no. Youâre human okay, those were just your instincts kicking in. I think anyone would have ran. But if Iâm thinking selfishlyâŚâ A tear fell down your cheek. âIâm glad you did, Iâm glad you didnât stay rooted to one place.â You nodded furiously. âIâm glad youâre right here in front of me. Iâm so glad!â
âI was scared.â He shook his head sitting at the back of the ambulance. âI couldnât breathe, and then he came out of the burning houseâŚpicking us off one by one. I didnât think I was going to see you again.â You reached forward and cupped his face. He looked exhausted. You turned your hand and placed the back of it against his forehead. He was sweaty and warm.Â
âLetâs go home.â Buck sighed his head falling forward against your chest. âPlease.â
âW-We canât.â Your voice cracked. âHeâs still out there.â You were trying to stay calm for you and for him. Yet your heart that was practically beating out your chest told you otherwise.
âFive years.â Buck said out of the blue. He scoffed then chuckled, shaking his head.Â
âWhat?â
âIâve never seen him in Haddonfield for five years. Each year on Halloween for five years, heâs shown up and killed people.â He looked down at his lap. âYou donât really start believing the stories they tell you until you see the blood and the bodies on the ground and when you finally do. You start realizing thereâs a pattern. One after the other, bodies start dropping, people go missing from a partyâŚ.and thereâs nothing you can do. Iâm supposed to save people, but latelyâŚthere hasnât been a whole lot of that.â A tear fell down his head.
âYouâre not invincible, Evan Buckley.â You half-heartedly laughed as you caressed his birthmark on his left eye. âA firefighter, yes, but you act like you have more than nine lives. You canât keep over exerting yourself because one day youâre gonna push too far, and something is gonna shove back. Iâm scared of what that day will feel like. I am. I adore how much you love this job, and I love you for being the caring and loving person you are.â
âBut?â He looked up at you, frowning a bit.
âI canât stop you from running into a burning buildingâŚI knew the minute that I met you what I was signing up for. I canât stop you, but I can tell you I canât bear to lose you. Youâre too important to me.â You pressed your head against his.
âI canât lose you either.â He turned his head and pressed his lips against yours. You placed your hands on his cheeks trying to cherish the moment while it lasted since tonight was still going on, and Michael was on a killing spree. âWe canât stay here, we have to go somewhere safe.âÂ
âWhere else would we even go?â You looked back at the blood bash. Covers being draped over the dead firefighters. You shivered and focused on Buckâs touch.
Buck stopped for a second and thought about it. Then it looked like a lightbulb went off inside his head.
âThereâs always the fire station. Heâs never really gone there over the time Iâve lived here. We can try there.â
âAs long as I donât look like themâŚIâm all in.â
âNothingâs gonna happen to you, not on my watch okay?â
âI trust you.â You nodded and took his hand. He got up and you guys walked over to your car.Â

Still We Know Each Other So Well - Chapter 3
Rating: Explicit (though not for a few more chapters)
A few months ago, there was a comment on Tumblr that there are ponderings about what would happen if Aziraphale or Crowley's memory was wiped, but what if both their memories were wiped?
This is a story of that what if.
Chapter Summary: Aziraphale walked briskly until he turned into Whickber Street, where he slowed to a stroll and took a deep breath.
Excerpt:
Aziraphale walked briskly until he turned into Whickber Street, where he slowed to a stroll and took a deep breath. Friday mornings always seemed less busy than other mornings somehow; perhaps it was the springier step of otherwise weary pedestrians as they strode eagerly towards the weekend. He didn't know what it was about this particular street in Sohoâthe neat buildings lined up obediently and displaying the vibrantly coloured shop fronts at the bottomâbut he felt he could relax and take his time.
The shopkeepers seemed particularly friendly along this stretch. The lady in the record store often waved enthusiastically at Aziraphale as he passed, while the cafĂŠ owner over the road would usually give him a nod or smile. He often thought that he really must take the time to try the chai latte at Give Me Coffee or Give Me Death, however he felt an inexplicable aversion to the place, despite its cosy, inviting appearance.

GUYS HEAR ME OUT-
If the Beast Cookies were to have a ACTUAL BEAST OR ENITIY FORMS here are my concepts of them that are final & confirmed after much thought & some research:
Part. (1/5)
Shadow Milk Cookie = Trickster & Malevolent Goblin
I was searching for a monster or entity to fit his character traits: a Trickster, mischievous, Malevolent. While he was originally supposed to be a demon or devil, I only scrapped it due to it being more likely fitting for Eternal Sugar Cookie who's supposed to represent a fallen angel/demon seen in her canon design. But soon enough I stumbled upon a folklore being:
GOBLIN
Based on Wikipedia, while it appears in all European folklore from the Middle Ages until today, is used back then to tell stories of evil & mischievous spirits. These beings even have similar abilities to other folklore beings, like fairies or demons, like shapeshifting.
Therefore, I chose him to be a goblin as a substitute choice for his being a demon. Now, with the creature he's meant to be in mind, the next part is his design; he is most likely wearing a jester outfit. One reason is that in the game, he didn't act like a definition Clown: who's meant to make a fool out of themselves for the entertainment of the audience. Instead, he acts like a Jester: Instead of making a fool out of themselves, they make a fool out of the audience for entertainment purposes. Another design choice is his body looking like Beast Bendy's because I thought it would look cool but still have some goblin traits featured on him.
Here's the full image of the drawing:
One key point of his design is to note how his eyes are sewn shut, the inside of his mouth full of smoke & having big ears. His eyes sewn shut represent his refusal to see the truth, only to be blinded by delusions. His mouth represents the lies & rumors he can tell to confuse & put people against one another for his sick entertainment. Also having big ears to hear truth & knowledge only to end up twisting it up as he speaks of it. Purposely.
With that, I would call his form:
THE FOOL
(Yes, I know it's simple, maybe obvious, but the name could represent or hint at the down fall he brought onto himself when he was meant to be a Knowledgeable Great Sage in the past.)
#crk kingdom#cookie run#shadow milk fanart#shadow milk crk#shadow milk cookie#my idea was originally posted on tik tok: mostly shows as a speedpaint video with an explanation going on in the Background

I promised Fair Folk lore in the discord so here is the fair folk lore.
So basically I visited the Alnwick Gardens on holiday and they had this really cool play area world for kids called Lilidorei based around nine clans who worship Christmas. Inspired by this here is some MCD Fair Folk lore.
'Fair Folk' is the umbrella term to encompass all the races native to the realm of Yggdrasil. These races are:
Elves
Of all the Yggdrasilian races Elves are one of the most common to be spotted outside of Yggdrasil due to their ability to blend in with humans. They are very attuned with nature. Elves are some of the least magickally gifted of the Fair Folk and while it is not uncommon for Elves to be born with magicks it is much rarer for them to cultivate it, even being forbidden for some tribes.
Fairies
Fairies are similar to their elven cousins, they are also humanoid and can fit in among humans although don't venture to the mortal realms as much as the Elves. There primary physical difference to Elves is their wings and ability to fly. Fairies are very magickally attuned and they practice their magicks freely.
Pixies
Occasionally found in the mortal realm, mostly offering help to humans (or trying to but coming off as a nuisance anyway). Pixies are more or less balls of concentrated magickal energy in a tiny body. When observed by mortals they appear as the Allay mob in minecraft. They can appear differently but the less abundant magickally energy in the mortal realm forces them into a smaller more solid physical shape.
Gnomes
Gnomes are not often found in the mortal realm but have been known to appear. Gnomes can either be very wise and helpful or mischievous tricksters. Standing at 4 feet tall on average with long white beards regardless of age or gender, when seen in the mortal realm Gnomes are often mistaken for particularly short old men. Gnomes magicks is often as absurd as they are and it is thought that Shaman magicks is derived from a combination of Gnomish practices and Witchcraft.
Goblins
Known to mortals as Imps, Goblins are tricksy shapeshifters. Expelled from Yggdrasil for dealings in dark magicks, in a combined effort by the Elven and Fairy tribes, the Goblin tribe leader took his people with him to the mortal realm where they allied themselves with the Demon Warlock in exchange for protection. Some Goblins since have slipped through the cracks and return to Yggdrasil unnoticed but most remain in the mortal realm disguising themselves as mortals to trick others or to assimilate into their culture.
Trolls
The final race is rarely found outside of Yggdrasil. A troll will turn up in the mortal realm maybe once in a generation. They are gentle but their size and appearance causes them to be feared. They are the stuff of stories and nightmares and monsters under the bed. The kind of beings that might be real but no one really knows.
Fae
So if you've seen my post about accidentally creating a Pantheon of Old Gods you might recall that Fae is the goddess of the Fair Folk. All of the races of Yggdrasil come from her. They are also known as the Children of Fae and she refers to them as such. No one knows if the original tribe members were really her children or if they were just her creations but at the time of MCD there are well established families within the tribes and none are directly the goddesses children.
The Fae Wilds
A realm presided over by Fae which is sort of like the afterlife except not exactly because Fair Folk are immortal beings. When they feel ready to 'retire' one of the Fair Folk may call upon Fae to be transported to the Fae Wilds to live out the rest of eternity.

Eternity
Requested by anonymous: Hello there, I see your requests are open so can you please do a Lee Rang x Female reader story. Pretty please. With a happy ending for the reader with Rang.
Pairing: Lee Rang x fem!reader
Word Count: 844 words
Warnings: none, I think
Lee Rang watched from a distance, his eyes trained on your form. He hadn't met someone like you before nor could he guess what you were.
Your hair was pulled into a high ponytail, hanging down to your feet and you wore black and green robes. A sword hung on your waist and Rang wondered how you got it. You were his age, only 16 or 17 years old, and he doubted that you had already earned it at that age.
"She's a goblin." A voice behind him spoke and he looked up to see his older brother, who was also looking at you. You seemed to have heard him, turning your head and connecting your eyes with Rang's. They were a bright golden color, reflecting with the light that shone on your face. You didn't move your gaze, keeping it locked on Rang before smiling at him.
"Didn't think foxes lived here." You spoke, your voice holding a taunting melody that made Rang shiver slightly. You turned around fully, taking slow steps to the pair of brothers until you stood in front of them completely. Bowing your head to Lee Yeon first, you greeted him with respect as he was the ruler of the mountain. Then you turned to Rang, smiling brightly once more.
"Aren't you a cute one." You spoke, leaning down slightly to reach his height before patting his head.
"Might I steal this one?" You looked at the older man, who only nodded before disappearing from sight, and leaving you and Rang behind. You turned back to the younger.
"What do you want?" He asked and you couldn't help but scowl at him. "Watch your tone, I'm older than you." You said and Rang frowned, asking your age. You were two years older than him, of course.
"So, do you know any good food places around here?"
"You look ridiculous, noona." "Have you seen yourself, Rang?" You replied and the fox looked down at his clothes with a frown. He was dressed in denim and other bright clothes, socks pulled over the bottom of his jeans. His hair was covered by a beanie and his eyes by sunglasses that looked like they were made a thousand years ago.
"At least I look in fashion, noona. You look like you're wearing the same clothes as when I met you." He replied and you scoffed, pulling your dress up slightly with a smile.
"I like these, that's the important part. Besides, those jeans are itchy." You pulled at his pants, snickering when Rang pushed your hands away.
The market was fun to be, reminding you of the markets you went to as a kid. The joy of the children that ran around, the vendors loudly yelling out for anyone to come to their stalls and of course the smell of food. You missed it every day, so coming to the market once seemed like a fun thing.
"Right, how is that girl you found? Yuri, was it?" You asked and Rang nodded, shrugging afterwards. "She's hiding in her room, still. Last time she hissed at me. Can you believe it?" He said and you laughed.
"It'd do the same if I could."
"Okay, what about this?" You asked, getting out of the changing room in burgundy dress. It was an off-shoulder dress, the sleeves poofy and reaching to your wrists, and the bottom part was more flowy, reaching to your knees. In the middle was your corset, a black design with golden flowers stitched into it. Lee Rang looked up from his phone, staring at you from the couch before nodding at you.
"No commentary this time?" You asked and Rang scoffed at you, putting his phone down. "It looks good, no more to say." He said and you smiled, hopping closer before leaning down.
"It doesn't look beautiful?" You asked, trying to get a reaction from him. Unfortunately, he had outgrown the shyness in the last years and thus barely reacted. But you did see the corner of his mouth twitch and this said enough for you.
"Thank you." You smiled at him before hopping back to the changing room and changing back in your own clothes. Once out, you pulled Rang along to the cashier.
"I'll pay." Rang said and you wanted to protest, but the girl at the cashier interrupted you.
"What a nice boyfriend you have. Wish I had one like him." She said, eyes turning to Rang in what seemed to be some sort of seduction. Rang didn't even look at her as he scanned his card.
"I wish you good luck in finding someone like that." He then spoke before pulling you along, arm thrown around your shoulders as he carried the bag in his hand.
"So, you're my boyfriend now?" You asked and he laughed softly, pulling you slightly closer to him.
"We've already kissed and slept with each, doesn't that qualify at this point?" He asked and you pushed his head away before kissing his cheek. You skipped ahead of him slightly, still holding his hand as you turned back to face him with a smile.
"I could spend an eternity with you as my boyfriend."

Masterlist
Y/n laid across Douxieâs couch, her naked feet dangling over the back. She quickly switched the page of her book, her eyes swiftly moving over the words. She had gone to Douxieâs apartment for their lunch date but he wasnât there, neither was Archie. She had sat at the couch with her book to pass the time almost eight hours ago and there was still no signs of her boyfriend.
For some reason, the quietness of Douxie's apartment had created the perfect atmosphere to concentrate and read the book Douxie had borrowed her. The book was perfect. All the different tales, the characters, the way the author had written the story, all of it spoke to her in a way she thought was impossible. Every single word would bring a comfort to her soul she hadnât felt in a lifetime.
âI told you: you should never turn your back to a shadow mephitâ a man said behind the front door.
Y/n sat down, closing her book and turned towards the door. Was it Douxie? Was he bringing a friend?
âIâm sorry? You wanted the blood goblins to eat you?â Douxie asked. He was out of air, he didnât sound good.
âBlood goblins?â Y/n squeezed the book âIt canât beâ
The door opened revealing a Douxie covered in blood holding his left side alongside an unharmed Archie.
âDouxie? WhatâŚWhat happened?â Y/n tossed the book to the side and ran to Douxieâs side.
âY/n?! What areâŚâ he hissed when Y/n tried to see the wound on his side.
âIâm sorryâ she pulled her hands back.
âWhat are you doing here?!â His right eye opened in surprise, his left eye was so swollen he couldnât see from it.
âWe were supposed to have lunchâ She answered, more focused on trying to get him to the couch.
âOh. Ohâ he sat down âI totally forgot. Iâm sorry. IâŚâ
âDouxieâ Y/n crouched down in front of him, her brows furrowed with worry âI need to know what happenedâ
âI need to know what you know. If you knowâ she thought.
âEhmâŚâ He looked to the side, to Archie who sat on the other side of the couch and back to her âY/nâŚI wasâŚâ
âDonâtâŚDonât lie to me. Pleaseâ she gently squeezed his knee.
The silence was deafening. The two of them were looking at each other, scared of breaking the silence, of being the one saying the words that may change everything.
âArchie! Are you here?â Al voice sounded out of Douxieâs room.
Y/n turned to the roomâs door. She felt her heart falling to her stomach.
âArch! Do you know why there are blood goblins running around Arcadia?â Al emerged from the room âUgh! Douxie, you look bad. Oh! Hello Y/nâ he scratched his ear.
âAlfredâ Y/n whispered.
âWhat?â He whispered back âOh! Everything is finally back to normal? Great!â He ran to Archie and sat next to him âIâm glad you could remember, Y/n. Good for you, Doux. If I had to keep hearing you crying because you miss her I wouldâ he stopped laughing âWhy is noâŚâ
âShe didnât remember, idiotâ Archie hit the brown cat with his paw.
âHey! that was claws outâ Al cried.
Y/n felt the water raising. She looked back to Douxie, to his eyes. Suddenly everything made sense. The blue light, the boy, the warmth in her chest, how she always ended up coming back to him. She closed her eyes and she saw him across time, across the years, it was always him. Back as children when she twisted her ankle, he carried her home; back as teens when some absences were heavier than before, he was always there; when the war took everything from her, he was there, holding her hand. She opened her eyes again and saw him, his beaten up face full of worry.
She stretched her hand out and caressed his cheek. He gave into the touch. A soft red glow healed his wounds.
âDouxieâ she whispered, tears falling down her face âMy Douxie, how could I forget you?â
A sob escaped Douxieâs lips, making him fall from the couch to the floor in front of her.
âIâm sorry, Doux. Iâm so sorryâ She grabbed his cheeks and her thumbs cleaned the tears that fell unapologetically.
Douxie shook his head âYouâre here nowâ
They smiled.
âAnd Iâm not leaving againâ she kissed his nose.
âPleaseâ he plead and kissed her, full force. His hands pushing her waist against his, trying to get her as close to him as he could.
Y/nâs hands went to play his hair, innocently tugging:
âIn moments like this I donât miss the man bun at allâ She joked between short kisses.
âDonât remind meâ Douxie groaned in a mixture of pleasure and embarrassment.
âIâm really sorryâ she apologized again as Douxie kissed down her jaw to her neck âYou've been alone all these yearsâŚâ
âDonâtâ He pressed their forehead together âWe can talk laterâ he kissed her cheek âBut, right now, let me hold you, pleaseâ he kissed her other cheek.
Y/n nodded with a smile on her face.
Douxie lifted her from the floor and took her to his room. Both of them lay there, only illuminated by Arcadiaâs night lights, holding each other tight, making sure that this time, nothing would separate them.
â
Y/n opened her eyes. The soft morning light illuminated Douxieâs face staring back at her.
âMorning, darlingâ he smiled.
âGood morning, Douxâ she smiled back.
His face in this light reminded her of her teenage years. The two of them hiding away in a room built of stones when the world was harsher and they were much softer.
âWhat are you thinking about?â He stroked her eyebrow.
âAbout how handsome you areâ she kissed his nose.
He chuckled, trying to ignore the blood rushing to his cheeks.
âI was thinking about us back home, aboutâŚCamelotâ she said.
âCamelotâ the name felt so strange in her lips but it didnât make it any less true. She was born on Camelot, she fell in love with Hisirdoux Casperan the XIV on Camelot, that she remembered but not much more.
âCamelot?â Douxie raised his brows âHow much do you remember?â He lifted himself up.
âNot muchâ Y/n chuckled and sat up âItâs all so blurry stillâ
âHow aboutâŚabout that night?â He looked down.
Y/n sighed and gave him a half smile. Of course she remembers that night, the night she lost him. She remembered the slam door, the rain, the pain.
âIâŚI remember leaving. Slamming the door and running into the rainâ she chuckled and turned to him, Douxieâs eyes were full of worry, focused on her story âthen I donât know what happenedâŚItâs all bright and thenâŚdark and then, Iâm in Jimâs fatherâs car and Iâm a child againâ
Douxie got closer, if that was possible, and put his arm around her.
âI swear, I didnât leave youâ Y/n put her hand on his cheekbone, her eyes full of tears âI love you too much to leaâŚâ
âI know. I know. I love you tooâ Douxie grabbed her hand from his cheek and kissed it âAt first, I was scared you did leave meâŚand, thenâ he smiled â Al, who never stopped looking for you, came back saying you were cursed and Iâm still not a master wizardâŚâ he looked down to his hands.
Y/n chuckled. He turned to her hands.
âWhat good is being a master wizardâ she lifted her right wrist where her staff rested âif I couldnât break the spell all those years ago?â
Douxie sighed and rested his head on top of Y/nâs.
âIâll fix this, Douxâ she played with her bracelet.
âWeâll fix thisâ Douxie put his hand on to of herâs.
A/n: I almost fell asleep without uploading 𤪠anyways after this chapter Iâll be uploading the hc as a thank you for no killing me for no updating last week đ
