France has a government. A very conservative one. Our new prime minister has voted in the past AGAINST the ban of conversion therapy, AGAINST gay mariage, and FOR anti trans laws.
Oh boy. I don't feel so good.

Donors meet in Paris to get Ukraine through winter, bombing
Donors meet in Paris to get Ukraine through winter, bombing
PARIS — Dozens of countries and international organizations were throwing their weight behind a fresh and urgent push Tuesday to keep Ukraine powered, fed, warm and moving in the face of sustained Russian aerial bombardments that have plunged millions into the cold and dark in winter. An international donor conference in Paris was expected to raise and help coordinate many tens of millions of…

The French presidential palace unveiled a new centre-right government Saturday, more than two months after elections that produced a hung parliament and deepened political divisions as France grapples with economic and diplomatic challenges. Conservative French Prime Minister Michel Barnier put together the government after weeks of difficult negotiations, and President Emmanuel Macron approved it. The new government was announced at the presidential palace. A left-wing coalition secured the most seats in June-July elections but failed to win an outright majority. The 38-member Cabinet announced Saturday includes primarily ministers from Macron's centrist alliance and the conservative Republicans party.

The French government decided to change to pronunciation of croissant to kwathoe. There was worldwide outrage, and everyone asked them to change the pronunciation– not back to croissant, but to creamsy.

Can we talk about the fact that Chuuya visited Rimbaud's grave so many times after his death that both Dazai and the Sheep knew they would find him there?
The Sheep choosing to betray him in that graveyard wasn't a coincidence, they knew he would be there because he had been visiting his tomb enough times to become a routine. They needed a place where they would definitely find Chuuya so their plan could work, after all.
And the thing is it's canon he did the same with the Flags after they died:
"Piano Man, Albatross, Doc, Iceman and Lippmann were buried in a well-kept graveyard near the mountains. Their graves were never without flowers.'' Stormbringer.
"Chuuya, you smell like incense. Did you go visiting those graves again?" Shirase to Chuuya, Stormbringer.
But the difference between Rimbaud and the Flags is that Chuuya almost didn't know Rimbaud, but he did such impact on Chuuya that he kept visiting his tomb. And he was betrayed in that graveyard, just like Rimbaud was, due to it.
I just find it beautiful (and tragic) that the reason the Sheep could betray him was because he visited the tomb a lot of times. Because he chose to do a pretty human thing and visited the tomb of a deceased person often.

Holy fuck, I have just learned that starting from today, your Allocation Adulte Handicapé (French state's allowance for disabled adults who can't work) is no longer tied to your partner's income!
This means disabled adults can now live with their partner and even get married without losing part or all of their allowance, as it was before!
This will help so many of us. So many of us who had to live with their partner because they needed their help everyday and so couldn't get governmental financial help and had to scrap on with only one person's income. So many of us who had to stay with their abusive partner because they didn't have any income of their own. And so many of us who had to live alone because we couldn't afford to lose our allowance
That's the best news I've heard this year. Disability benefits being tied to your partner's income is still the norm in most countries. I hope it'll spread to the rest of the world quickly

On December 27, 1928, Governor-elect Franklin D. Roosevelt named Frances Perkins the new Commissioner of Labor, the first woman to hold the job. An advocate for workers' rights, she helped put New York in the forefront of progressive reform by expanding factory investigations, capping the workweek for women at 48 hours, championing a minimum wage and unemployment insurance, and working to end child labor. In 1933, President Roosevelt appointed her Secretary of Labor, a post she held for 12 years. She was the first woman ever to hold a Cabinet position.
