Hello hello everyone! Apologies for not posting over the weekend, I was hanging out with family and going camping! Fun :)
As an apology I will gift you this one (1) peice of art and go off! To draw any @‘s and answer any asks soon! „Regular“ posting will resume shortly

This peice was based off of a Minecraft video that I watched by @/flowstate on YouTube.com! I love their video series on „building with no plan“ in general, as they are very good at building with no plan and being very loose and general in their designs! They also have a lot of fun little lore about each building and are in general just a refreshing minecrafter to watch :D (the link for that is here: https://youtu.be/KM618pZeHJQ?si=wmFtIt6WqmRfXpLg)

STUDY TIP #1
Tumblr media
*This is not my photo
Proximity Distraction is real.
I created an office space in my family’s sun room. I keep my phone in my room which is a few rooms down.
I never take my phone into the sun room with me. This has created a sort of queue in my brain that it is time to enter the flow state. Your ego tells you that you can control yourself and not touch the phone if you do bring it in there with you.
But simply the presence of knowing it is nearby is already a distraction within itself, stop feeding your ego and just put the phone away!

I’m often told that I should make a time-lapse of my drawing process, start to finish. So I tried it this week, got about a day and a half in and I just couldn’t do it. I enter this meditative, flow state when I draw, I know it’s magical and imperative to the process but I had no idea how tenuous it was until I turned a camera on. I just couldn’t enter that quiet state and without it I wasn’t connecting with the drawing, with myself, or the landscape I was representing. It was like we couldn’t hear each other, or speak to each other. I know it sounds cheesy but it’s true! I was troubled by it all night. So I stopped filming and my drawing and I are flowing again 〰️〰️ I wish I could share my weird process with you all on this platform but it just wasn’t working. I’m still boggled by how quickly the camera shut down that magical, art making space. It’s just too personal I guess ✨✨ . #studioramblings #flowstate #meditation #portland #oregon #drawing #charcoaldrawing #charcoal #realism #fineart #contemporaryart #representationalart #landscape #landscapedrawing #art #stephaniebuer #artist #artistsoninstagram #nakiacreekfire #pacificnorthwest #wildfireseason #artmaking https://www.instagram.com/p/ClAJEEBvmsA/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Discovering Authentic Expression Through Letting Go in Music
Hey everyone! I want to take a moment to talk about something that’s been on my mind lately: the beauty of letting go of control and simply playing in the flow. As musicians, we often strive for perfection, meticulously planning every note, every rhythm. But there’s something magical that happens when we release that need for control and allow ourselves to be carried by the music. When I let go…

In today’s fast-paced business environment, where the hustle culture dominates, entrepreneurs and business owners tend to adopt a grinding mentality. Working harder and for long hours is often seen as the only avenue for success. However, it’s important to note that this relentless pursuit can frequently culminate in burnout, inefficiency, and a decline in productivity, undermining the very goals it seeks to achieve.
Recent studies have indicated that productivity significantly decreases when working more than 50 hours per week, contrary to the hustle culture’s emphasis on extended hours for success. Furthermore, nearly half of all employees experience feelings of anxiety, anger, or sadness, indicating the emotional toll taken due to excessive workplace demands.
Today, we will examine the transformative solution of business coaching, which can help guide you from the exhausting hustle mentality to a more productive and fulfilling state of flow. By learning to work smarter rather than harder, coaching can help boost your business success.

Mikh (Attachment): Embracing Flexibility in a Changing World
Tumblr media
The Guru Granth Sahib, the sacred text of Sikhism, introduces the concept of Mikh (Attachment). Mikh refers to our tendency to become overly attached to specific outcomes, desires, or possessions. In today's rapidly changing world, where nothing is guaranteed, clinging to Mikh can lead to disappointment, stress, and difficulty adapting to new circumstances. By cultivating a sense of detachment and embracing flexibility, we can navigate challenges with greater resilience and find peace amidst uncertainty.
The Harms of Mikh:
Mikh manifests in various ways. An employee overly attached to a specific promotion might become disheartened or demotivated if it doesn't materialize. Similarly, clinging to rigid expectations can make it difficult to adapt to changes in the workplace. Here's how Mikh can be detrimental:
Reduced Resilience: Attachment to specific outcomes can make it difficult to bounce back from setbacks, hindering your ability to move forward.
Increased Stress: Clinging to rigid expectations can lead to anxiety and stress when things don't go according to plan.
Missed Opportunities: Being overly attached to one path can blind you to new opportunities and possibilities.
Difficulty with Change: Mikh can make it challenging to adapt to changes in the workplace, hindering your ability to learn and grow.
The Power of Letting Go:
The antidote to Mikh lies in cultivating a sense of detachment and embracing flexibility. This doesn't mean giving up on your goals or aspirations. Instead, it involves approaching them with a sense of openness and acceptance, understanding that life may not always unfold exactly as planned. Here's how to find peace amidst uncertainty:
Focus on the Journey: Shift your focus from the destination (desired outcome) to the journey itself. Appreciate the learning experiences and growth opportunities along the way.
Embrace the Flow: Life is a journey with unexpected turns. Learn to navigate the flow of life with adaptability and resilience.
Set Goals with Detachment: Set clear goals while acknowledging external factors that may influence the outcome. This reduces disappointment and allows for course correction.
Practice Acceptance: Accept that things may not always go according to plan. Practice accepting situations as they are without judgment.
Mikh Toolkit for a Flexible Mindset:
Develop a Growth Mindset: Believe that your skills and abilities can be developed through effort and learning. This fosters openness to new opportunities.
Practice Mindfulness: Mindfulness helps you stay present in the moment and accept situations as they are, reducing stress and anxiety.
Visualization Techniques: Visualize yourself adapting to different scenarios. This builds confidence and resilience in the face of change.
Focus on Controllables: Focus your energy on the aspects of your work and life that you can control. Let go of trying to control things outside your influence.
Celebrate Small Wins: Acknowledge and celebrate your progress along the way, not just the final outcome.
Develop Contingency Plans: Brainstorm potential challenges and develop backup plans to maintain your focus and adapt when needed.
Mikh is a continuous practice. There will be times when attachment creeps in. The key is to be mindful of its influence and actively cultivate a sense of detachment and flexibility. By embracing the flow of life, setting goals with a sense of openness, and focusing on what you can control, you can navigate challenges with greater resilience and find peace amidst uncertainty. This allows you to adapt, learn, and thrive in a constantly changing world.

The Art of Managing Emotion: Unleashing the Power of Emotional Intelligence for Effective Leadership
Introduction
In the fast-paced and dynamic world of business, emotions play a pivotal role in shaping individual and team performance. The art of managing emotions is a critical skill that every manager must master to become a successful leader. One resource that has garnered significant praise in this domain is the book Mastering the Art of Management: A Step-By-Step Guide to Building Leadership Skills and Achieving Success as a Manager. In this blog post, we will explore how this book can help managers foster a state of flow in their team, enhance emotional intelligence, and ultimately boost productivity and motivation.
Understanding Flow and its Impact on Leadership
Before delving into the strategies provided in the book, let's understand the concept of flow and its relevance to leadership. Flow, as conceptualized by psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, is a state of optimal experience where individuals are fully immersed in a task, experiencing heightened focus and satisfaction. As a manager, helping team members achieve a state of flow can lead to increased productivity and overall effectiveness.
One way managers can facilitate flow is by creating a work environment that offers challenging yet attainable tasks. When employees are presented with tasks that align with their skill levels, they become engrossed in their work, leading to heightened creativity and innovation. By utilizing the strategies outlined in Mastering the Art of Management, managers can foster a workplace culture that encourages flow, resulting in more engaged and high-performing teams.
Emotional Intelligence: The Key to Improved Productivity and Motivation
Emotional intelligence (EI) is the ability to recognize, understand, and manage both one's own emotions and the emotions of others. Managers with high emotional intelligence possess a unique advantage in enhancing team productivity and motivation.
The book Mastering the Art of Management emphasizes the importance of emotional intelligence as a cornerstone of effective leadership. By developing a deep understanding of emotional intelligence, managers can identify and address the needs and concerns of their team members more effectively. When employees feel valued, heard, and understood, they are more likely to be motivated and committed to their work.
Tumblr media
Here are some ways in which emotional intelligence can improve team productivity and motivation:
Empathy and Support: Managers with high emotional intelligence are adept at empathizing with their team members' feelings and challenges. They offer support and encouragement during difficult times, which fosters a sense of trust and loyalty.
Conflict Resolution: Conflicts are inevitable in any workplace, but emotionally intelligent managers approach them with tact and diplomacy. By addressing conflicts promptly and constructively, they create a positive team environment where collaboration thrives.
Positive Feedback: Emotional intelligence allows managers to provide feedback in a constructive and positive manner. Acknowledging team members' achievements and efforts boosts morale and motivates them to excel.
Building Relationships: Emotional intelligence enables managers to build strong and genuine relationships with their team. This rapport leads to increased camaraderie and a shared sense of purpose among employees.
Conclusion
The art of managing emotions and harnessing emotional intelligence is a crucial skill for every manager aiming to become an effective leader. By applying the insights and strategies from the book Mastering the Art of Management, managers can create an environment that fosters flow, leading to higher levels of productivity and motivation among their team members.
Understanding flow and emotional intelligence not only benefits the individual manager but also has a ripple effect on the entire team and organization. As managers equip themselves with these valuable tools, they empower their teams to perform at their best, leading to a more fulfilling and successful work environment for all.
