I have a little thing I want to share. Today was the day our year could collect our report and with that results from our midterms. It was also our Fasching day (dressing up in costumes). And this is the life hack - when I was in my tiger onesie I couldn't cry over my (in my opinion and for me) terrible math result, because I couldn't take myself seriously. Life hack 👍

I just remembered a study hack I used last year and I used it again and oh my gosh it’s helpful. I have trouble processing stuff when I read it sometimes and holding myself accountable so I’ve started doing voice recordings while doing my assignments. I read out the questions as I go and just. Talk. I know no one will ever listen to them but they help me hold myself accountable I guess. 9/10 would recommend, only issue is that I started getting distracted BY the recording at one point because I was like ‘gosh I hope this doesn’t become the last remaining piece of evidence of the human race, that would be embarrassing.’

study hack for all the girlies, gays, and theys that are freaking out over school being back in session in a few months:
you can transport quizlet flash cards into gimkit and essentially just make a game and go ham on it
it’s really perfect because you can just play it by yourself and try to see how much money you can make or with friends!

I have found a new way to hack my brain.
I have never been diagnosed with anything, but I am definitely neurospicy in some way, shape, or multiple forms. I'm currently in grad school and my neurospicy is causing issues for me because I'm taking a class I don't like that doesn't really apply to my major and requires more than I've been taught, so I have been having trouble focusing.
Normally, I try to simulate serotonin by snacking, but the flavor fades so fast. Today, I put on a crown my parents bought for my birthday, and the concept of wearing it worked so well that I focused on my homework assignment for about 4 hours without losing focus.
So basically, if you stuck with this the entire time if you wear something that your brain identifies as special, you'll get the serotonin you need to focus!
Also, going to a place where you're stuck works really well.

Alright monkebrain, to study, you gotta make yourself accountable. Is that really it?
I do truly believe making yourself accountable is the only study tactic that works. However, it isn't that easy to spring out of bed every other day and head to your library, coffee shop, etc.
This is where all those fancy habit strategy things come into play.
Layering accountability. Example: Tell a study buddy you'll meet them at the library at 8:00
Remove delays. The night before, pack your books, charge your laptop, etc. Minimize the factors that can slow you down on your way out.
Consistent rewards. Might seem kinda stupid, but people are animals like any other, so exploit the fact that you have a monkebrain, take advantage of it. Treat yourself to a nice coffee, a pastry, anything really once you are en route. Because showing up is 95% of the battle.

remember if you ever want to read an article for free and the subscription ad prevents you from reading the entire article DO NOT
Reload it and immediately turn off your Internet access (data/WiFi if you are using a phone)
Reload it and click the 'X' next to the return icon on the top left of your window (if you are on desktop)
Reload the page, type 'Ctrl+ A' and 'Ctrl+ C' and paste everything onto an open document
this has worked for me 97ish % everytime hope this works for u too

if u want music with extreme mario kart vibes to help get you jazzed up to study, listen to CASIOPEA. they're an incredible japanese jazz fusion group that constantly has my head bobbing in the library and they have a huge discography. it's just so good and i cannot stress enough: the vibes are mario kart on steroids

Study Hack:
Dear students forced to listen to recorded lectures because of this damn pandemic,
if you play the wii theme in the background, the lecture becomes infinitely more interesting :)

pro tip for writing papers (or anything really): title your rough draft “Dumbest Version”
now you don’t feel as much obligation to write awesome stuff the first go around. that’s what editing is for, baby

Deadlines are stressing me to the point of paralysis. So I procrastinated on 3 things that need to get done and realized while I was procrastinating on one task, I was being productive in one of the other 2. I let myself go instead of fighting and discovered the Flow Knows. My new study hack is Prodcutive Procrastination. It might not get done intentionally or in the order I planned but damn it, it's getting done.

hey, study hack here: if your teacher ever wants you to watch a long TED Talk, there will always be a transcript available that will be super useful for pulling out key points or even skipping watching the video. it has time stamps, too, so if your teacher wants you to watch from 15:00-21:00, you can easily just read the transcript. unless the assignment is directly related to the speaker or actual way the talk is conducted rather than the content in it, using the transcript is so much easier and faster
