Unless and Until we can list, identify, talk about, and provide real solutions to real American problems, we will continue to talk about what ever he (or the party in power) wants us to talk about.

The reason Mr MaGoo won is not because he got more votes. It's because people wouldn't stop talking about him before the election. The media had a choice, talk about issues that affect American households or talk about him and his issues. We choose the later, and amplified his persona.

I have an issue

I've been having problems with my partner recently. It'll be discussions, sometimes arguments or discussions that take a turn for the more emotional, and no matter how it end up, I feel horrible. I bring up problems alot more than them (they have issues with confrontation) and alot of the time, we go with my solutions to things.

I cant tell if I'm right or wrong. If I come up with good answers or if I just push for them so much they give up. If they actually agree or am I just so relentless that they dont see a point in disagreeing.

I dont have any friends besides them, I really struggle to manage more than one person in my life because I forget they exist or forget to text or something. Unless everyone I talk to is in the same place all the time, I will end up accidentally only focusing on just one.

I dont want to befriend someone just to vent, that doesn't feel fair, and I can't get back into therapy for weeks.

It sounds like that in the relationship with your partner, you are definitely more assertive than your partner in that you bring up problems more than them and there is nothing wrong with that at all. I am sorry that you feel that you ‘push’ them into going with your solutions to any problems that are brought up, but is there a way where you can bring this to their attention and how you feel like you are more dominate and especially with making decisions. Just an idea.

You mentioned that you are feeling bad and confused about whether or not the decisions you make are right or wrong, so maybe you could take a step back at these times to turn to your partner and ask for their opinion on things. By doing this, you are also giving them the power to agree or disagree with you or make suggestions for other possible solutions to the problems that may arise. Try not to be too demanding though on your partner but instead gently ask them for what they are thinking but not pressuring them into saying anything if they do not feel comfortable in doing so. Perhaps even writing down problems and discussing it with your partner through letters may also be something to look at doing. I know that this may make the process of solving things a lot slower but the positives in doing this is that you are allowing not only yourself but also your partner time to really think instead of putting them on the spot.

I completely get and understand finding it difficult to finding and keeping more than one friend at a time, as you find it hard to focus on a group of people and forgetting about replying to messages or responding to them and things like that. Do you think it may be helpful that if you do allow yourself to have more than 1 friend at a time then you could write up a table or something about checking in with them all and then ticking off each person as you do? You could even make notes about each friend and what they have been going through/ been up to and where the conversation is at with them. Again, just another idea and perhaps something to think about!

I think it’s really great that you are in therapy but I am sorry that you have to wait until you are able to recommence, I want you to know that in the meantime if you are needing to talk to someone then you can always send us in an Ask (even if it’s just to vent) or connect with a counsellor from either a helpline or via web counselling. You do not have to go through anything alone and especially whilst you don’t currently have support from a therapist.

i think people should talk more about the unique sense of hopelessness which stems from the realization that “help” in the form myth promised you does not exist; there is no help coming and you must create from scratch the tools that will dismantle (or at least diminish) your own suffering, and do this not once but every day for the rest of your life

This was the ninth- no.... tenths loop. He is eating his breakfast and he is dizzy again. Because Mom drugged his oatmeal, because Mom and Dad knew! Danny stood up from his chair and tried to leave the kitchen. (He knew it wouldn't work, it never worked) His eyes grew heavy and a few steps later he hit the ground.

He wakes up to the same gruesome picture as in the last nine loops. But Danny doesn't beg anymore. Or says anything. It hurts, but it's nothing he hasn't had felt before. It would only take them a week before they would destroy his core again and then everything would start anew. Maybe he could think of something better for next time.

The last feeling he remembered was an all encompassing pain, as his Dad crushed his core. But he was at the breakfast table again, already feeling groggy. But maybe this time he could get help? He knew that he could fight the drugs for around ten minutes, as long as he didn't stand up.

So instead he got his phone out of his pocket. He knew that neither his sisters, nor his friends would be fast enough, he already tried them, but maybe someone else could be fast enough.

He opened Twitter and started to write a new post, ignoring his atrocious spelling in favor of getting as many information out as possible.

A chatter in Bad’s stream expressed difficulties reading some egg signs, like pomme’s red one, so he immediately went to see how he could customize the qsmp texture pack and boost contrast. with some help by richas’ artistic abilities, pomme’s signs are now a gorgeous deep wine red color (like a true french) and personalized with pixel art leaves/vines :D

Bad and Ricardão are planning to work together and make accessible + personalized sign textures for every egg, and provide it to the qsmp team to officially implement in the game!!! 🫶 here’s their brainstorming:

Hey! Bamboo toilet paper person here. Your response was very thoughtful-- I want to apologize for placing the onus of climate issues on individual action, haha. I work at a zoo that bills itself as being very heavy on conservation messaging, but as a non-partisan organization we're obviously not allowed to talk about the evils of capitalism. This means that in our programming, we MUST place the responsibility of stopping climate change on individual guests, encouraging them to make more environmentally conscientious decisions like buying reef safe sunscreen or reducing carbon emissions by driving less. The most "political" we're allowed to get is telling people to stay educated and vote in favor of laws that will have a positive impact on the environment. I think I've been drinking the Zoolaid a little TOO much recently, because you're totally right-- the vast, VAST majority of damage to the environment is caused by major corporations, not random people working around their own unique needs. It was also low key a little ableist of me to take issue with that ngl.

Obviously no obligation to respond to this publicly (though it's fine if you choose to do so), but I did want to thank you for your response and mention that it did get through the nonprofit mission-based-organization propaganda living rent free in my head haha. Cheers!

And hey, no worries, you totally had a good point about endless waste and trying to counter it where possible- Just from personal experience involved in the barest edge of the fashion industry, I really, really, REALLY hate the idea that, like... people can't access simple shit like plastic straws, even if they're the best, most practical, least-harmful option for them.... because a 12 year old made up some random number for a school project about plastic waste

Where, as a zoo person, I imagine you're already aware that the average sea turtle is WILDLY more likely to die from abandoned plastic fishing nets or ocean-dump grocery bags than accidentally get a straw inside it

So here we are, using paper straws!- which may be an improvement, or may not, I don't have that data, and construction emissions are their own thing- BUT WE STILL HAVE OCEANS FULL OF ABANDONED NETS

WHICH ARE OBJECTIVELY WORSE, but MUCH harder to get rid of, and as the average person doesn't USE fishing nets, it'd much harder to market as a "You, not me" sort of issue.

Cleaning up fishing nets isn't trendy. It isn't sexy. You can't troubleshoot a cute little trendy solution for it that you can market to upwardly-mobile tweens.

But a reusable water bottle? A cute canvas tote? A metal straw? That's a solution you can buy and feel good about.

Never mind that you need to use a single cotton reusable bag somewhere like a million times before the cost of its construction counterbalances the cost of a single grocery bag every time you shop- which, hey, some of us were reusing as trash liners for their wastebaskets, or bundle bags for donating clothes, or lining for our leaky winter boots!

If a better option is available, I'll take it. But as ZERO HARM is next to impossible at this time, I personally am gonna aim for MINIMAL HARM as long as I can.
