Don't try this unless you want to massively transform your life
1. Get an alter ego, give them a bad ass name
2. Make a blue print for who they are, how they dress, talk, think, act figure out what their life is like and their routine etc.
3.start acting like them everyday
4. When you have a choice to make ask yourself "what would X do?
5. Give it a month and look at how you've reinvented your life

Started some patch pants and needed a bigger pocket so I accidentally created a really big pocket
I'm happy with the outside and even happier about the inside since it's my first time doing any sort of lining
Oh and i accidentally overestimated how much fabric i would need for the sides so its about three inches wide-
I love it anyways. It's called a paperbag pocket if anyone wants to add one themselves

The Great Thai Communal Wardrobe Advent Giveaway!
I've currently collected/documented 45 items of clothing (and accessories) that have reappeared in various Thai series over the past four years - these are only the ones that have been discovered, I'm sure there are more.
These 45 items are spread over 38 shows and are worn by 78 different characters (mains, sides, and random extras).
At the most, one item has been worn by 8 different people in 6 series, several have been used 3-5 times, but the majority have only appeared in two different shows (so far!).
There has been one recent show which has featured 15 items of clothing which have been worn in other series! The next highest number is 11 in a show which aired last year. And then the 3rd and 4th spot go to a show from two years ago (with 10 items) and one from this year (with 6).
I have currently ordered all the items by the number of times used and then by air date (with the highest and earliest first), but once I start posting them I will add any new discoveries to the end of the list (from 46 onwards).
And I'd like your involvement to post them!
Between now and Nov 15th send me an ask or a DM with one of the following requests to either have the item dedicated to yourself or you can gift it to another blog. (Anon is also fine but I'd suggest using an obscure emoji so you can identify yourself).
You can request:
A random number in the list (1-45)
The name of a particular show
A specific character or actor
Something funny or stylish or that I think you might like
A specific item (if you have a pretty confident idea of one that exists)
And a specific date you would like your post published if you have one (I'm mainly trying to decide what order to publish them all in)
A point to note: I've already published number 3 and number 6 (although the latter is now wrongly-numbered 😥 so I might consider editing the original post...again).
My plan is to post two a day from Dec 1st in the run up to Christmas, like an advent calendar, so I've set the deadline for requests early enough to give me time to organise the posts (since work does get in the way sometimes).
And if you do spot any more shared clothing across series, do let me know!

Luz Shouldve Been Dressed By A POC (Person Of Color Or Luz Batista To Show Better Cultural & POC Reprensation)
Hello Tumblers, This is kyoko cane of daystar voyage, as a proud black person who’s genderqueer who makes content creations On Pop culture such as Cosplay & drag, I do talk on Animation & Family Entertainment So glad to get this topic cause what we see on tv can be put into reality, Now (Disclaimer)
I will not accept hate on the daystar voyage anyone who can’t handle different opinions, ship whatever (unless legal) if not walk out or off this spaceship into a asteroid belt and black hole
Don’t hate appreciate.
One more thing I do love my girl Luz pilot outfits, there goals however wish they had time to put patterns into her clothes often, like I said in my hootview
However the female cast had a better closet then her, and I did discuss that in my video, for some time they did make her dress in a shonen archetype, (which I made a post about her hair) or an spicy Latina Which of of course personality wise too, (cause she’s made to be the gender non confirming character) but excuse all that cause in a way, the staff shoulda hired someone whos Either Afro, African American Or Latin to dress this girl.
Oh boy now that im done rewatching The Owl House there’s so much in store soon anyway,
I do feel its time to start this short post, I have a fashion hootview which is the intermission so there’s still a lot to come meantime, finished my rewatch of The Owl House as an animation lover,
youtube
Lets discuss this topic at hand,
2020s animators need to take notes on costuming & style tips to make characters stand out in environments and to treat there characters better in fashion or color coordination,
yes you can have a color coded character and not rely of a main palette to be able to bring out there features & complexion,
Animators need to take notes, how to properly show kids & there audience that good clothing could be put onto a character of any occasion & not have to rely on sexuality or Stereotype (Disney Programs have a hit or miss on certain shows.)
while proper fashion can do justice, that goes into making a franchise and making a product to sell for marketability in retail & consumers.
if the character or product can be sold with a great design if executed flawless by character, design, costuming, and the app that comes within the series,
This goes to the fandom cause there might be future artistsor small indie creators reading this who probably never read, or look up fashion brands, magazines either hot couture or brand clothing and don’t have that knowledge But that shouldn’t stop you from being able to experiment with different color palettes on what goes into your art.
The fandom needs a wake up call that not only is everything’s perfect and people have the right to critic and criticize a show or any form of art.
cause fandoms today has a self righteous way of bullying others of different opinions and ostracizing others and ithas to stop,
Here’s a quick tv trope in color-coded characters, & a Toonsmag article on fashion in animation.
Marketability is a important factor, industries rely on that to make the money off of that series, be a cartoons or projects,
it impacts the character and representation that kids see when they purchase said item and teaching kids, see good representation within media can matter if done right.
Especially POCs if executed well however
DONW BELOW in some cases miraculous ladybug fumbles it hard, at one point had all the poc of color (EXAMPLE limited to alya and nino if not max be lighter tones on there merch.)
You know lighting character's skin tones like Alya and other brown or dark skin characters, on their products & merch (bad ethnic representation award goes to them).
Not to mention the whole Vas underpaid controversy, that’s been discussed countless times.
(still disappointed about there business decisions)
I appreciate the love of anyone who can view and read this article if you gotten this far,
thanks for reading make sure to check my Tumblr and YouTube vlog cause so much of this particular series I’m gonna debunk
The show had a-lot going for it however feel flat including in the fashion department along miraculous ladybug that’s another thing to be discuss OH BOY so anyway
here’s an example of the video game art of Guilty Gear showing great costume progress years later
always educate yourself cause I do want my platform to show variety on what I offer creatively and semi-education-wise to be able to let people be inspired and that you don't need to follow trends, thank you very much seeya on the next space voyage.

any good recommend for Jewish fashion for Sam?
Howdy, I've been letting this one percolate for a bit, hence the delay. It's an interesting question! Short answer is unfortunately no, I don't have a specific 'Jewish fashion' trend or subculture to recommend.
Longer answer, Jewish folks live in dozens of countries and we've been around for thousands of years. While Torah and halacha (Jewish law) covers many aspects of day-to-day living as well as holidays and more special occasions, it doesn't say a lot about how to dress for the common person (vs how it's pretty specific about holy day garb for cohanim). In Orthodox circles it's a matter of religious and cultural significance to dress modestly (though as with most Jewish laws and customs, the definitions of these things vary community to community) and while there's exceptions (Hasidics notably), most Jewish communities dress largely in line with the custom of where they're living (eg Orthodox women in the US typically wear long sleeves and full skirts, but in a Western style).
That said, Sam and her family don't seem to be Orthodox, and could be interpreted easily as Conservative or Reform (to be clear, the Jewish Conservative denomination has nothing to do with political conservatism, and tends towards progressive and egalitarian ideals; I grew up in a conservative synagogue and girls read torah, led services, etc), so even a lot of distinctive Jewish dress I could talk about isn't super relevant to her because those movements don't have a lot of the same customs around clothing.
Jewelry is more common as an expression of Jewish identity and culture than specific clothing, especially featuring a Star of David/Magen David, hamsa, ayin hara, or an emblem of a torah or mezzuzah, on necklaces, bracelets, and earrings, in a variety of styles from intricately ornamented to quite simple. And even that is a matter of personal preference by and large; one person might wear a magen david necklace every day, another only on special occasions or when they feel like it, another never, and none of those is 'more' or 'less' Jewish. That said, I do think Sam would be interested in that kind of Jewish visibility, which is part of why I often depict her with a Star of David charm on her necklace.
Here's a little intro on myjewishlearning that expands on some of what I've talked about here, and is also a decent site for poking around in general. That said I know doing research can be daunting, it's hard to know what's fact vs custom vs opinion, what the context of information is, what questions to even be asking, and also that it's often just more fun and engaging to ask questions directly. I'm not always fast but my askbox and messages are open!
#i could talk more about my reasoning on the give sam a jewish necklace point but i think im going a little off the rails so short version#a) she's consistently depicted as vocal about her beliefs values and identity b) from my own experience as a jewish person in public life#i've both felt more safe when i knew i wasnt alone AND had other jewish folks come up to ME and tell me they felt more safe seeing someone#else be visibly jewish even if they themselves did NOT feel safe enough to do so. and i think sam is a character who would really value#getting to show 'i am here' in that way#also lastly c) it's a very simple and easy design addition to implement and i think we should do it more for her and i love to see it#sorry this took me two weeks i was really digging around to see if there was a more specific and helpful answer. im also just not a huge#fashion person. i just met a friend FROM shul who therefore usually only sees me dressed nicely and her FIRST comment was 'wow i finally ge#to see you dressed as yourself- grubby!'#danny phantom#sam manson#not art#z.answer#anon

DIY pin tutorial
this is just how i make them :) @boneyardbob I remember you asked for a tutorial awhile back so here you go!
You will need: •Needle nose pliers (or whatever they're called) •a can tab •a bottle cap •a safety pin •paint and sealant (clear nail polish works for me) •glue (optional)
What i like to do is bend my tab a little bit to make it easier to get the safety pin in there.
Then you're gonna want to start bending the edges of the bottle cap inward with the pliers. Make sure you don't do it all the way so you can insert the can tab (if you like the og design on the bottle cap and are making a pin to show it off just be careful because the pliers do take off paint if you aren't really careful)
Insert the tab before the edges are brought in fully
Then just press the edges down (you might have to hold the tab in the middle so its not wonky). The pin will not be a perfect circle (but this is diy so what do you expect.)
Slide your safety pin though the tab [Optional: you can glue it down with hot glue or superglue- i just haven't gotten around to doing it for mine yet]
And there you go! You now have a pin! For painting you can either scratch the cap to make it rough enough for the paint to stick on better or use something textured to apply a base layer of paint :) paint your design on there, let it dry for a day or two, and seal with clear nail polish or a shiny sealant of your choice (uv resin, modge podge, etc).
Happy diy and if you have any questions feel free to ask :>

How I make a record necklace
I have a record necklace I am very fond of so I thought I would give yall a tutorial
What you will need:
Washer
Nail polish or paint
Chain Necklace (make sure it is thin enough to fit through the center of the washer
Jump rings
Pliers are recommended but not required
First: paint the washer on both sides to look like a record. You can do both sides a different color if you want.
I recommend putting clear nail polish or any sealant over it to reduce paint chipping.
Second: split your chain in half and feed one side through the hole.
Third: put a jump ring on the end of the chain and put it through the top of the chain, leaving a slip chain.
It should look like this. Do this with both sides and you have a necklace :} it is easily reversible if you wish.

So many times I’ve seen people on here be like wowww it’s so funny seeing ppl rage over vegans 😁!! ….. these people genuinely have no idea what they’re talking about. If you mention all their stuff being made of plastic they cover their ears and go lalala like they’re 5. I’m sorry but it DOES make me mad. I wish your passion for the environment could go somewhere actually useful and not to blissful ignorance and even environmental harm. -_-
#idgaf if you don’t eat meat. good for you… but if the reason you’re vegan is because of some sad baby cows and not the overall impact of#the fashion industry (etc) then you’re not seeing the big picture. and you’ll likely never WANT to see ..#different subject but I also think it’s worth noting the anthropomorphism of farm animals in advocacy for veganism. does that make sense#like the whole thing about like. imagine you’re born just to become meat and a jacket etc etc so sad so depressing. except.. animals have n#concept of that. they only know right now. they don’t think about stuff like that?….#you can’t put yourself in their place because they genuinelh don’t have the capacity to understand it like we do. it’s annoying#obviously I want livestock to be treated well. it makes me sad that abuse is rampant in an industry like this. but if you want to really#help… buy your meat from someone you KNOW treats their animals well. ?does that make sense..#this is not the garden of Eden bitch animals die. that’s not always a bad thing. hello can anyone hear me
