#Dionysus Bernard Au

Ok, 2025 has just started and I decided to go back to my beloved TIMBERN and the au's I love so much. It took me like a week to finish this and I'm happy to see that I haven't gotten as bad at drawing as I thought despite not being able to practice as often as before.

Ok, now the context. It's not very long, since I drew this scene on impulse. It's another Bernard/Dionysus AU with the added bonus that Tim in this case is the reincarnation of Ariadne and the only thing that prevented an angry god from turning everyone in Gotham into animals. After his rude awakening Dionysus was completely furious but all that was forgotten immediately he saw Ariadne, as beautiful and stunning as when he met her in Naxos crying over her new body. Of course, Tim doesn't remember any of this and just happens to have seen his friend Bernard get stabbed to death by a cult of madmen and collapses in grief and guilt because he was late again. Only for the body to rise up, still bleeding and chest open screaming in Greek with a deranged grin. I don't have much more to it than that, really. The scene in the picture is Dionysus/Bernard just waking up and getting déjà vu about his first meeting with Ariadne on the Island of Naxos where she was abandoned by Theseus. I was reading up on them and I imagined Dionysus meeting a very reluctant and angry Ariadne, who is crying at being abandoned and the God decides he wants to see her smiling face and will do anything to make that happen. Now in Gothan the myth is coming to life again. Dionisio wants to court his wife (who is now a husband, and that doesn't bother him at all) and Tim trying by all means to keep him entertained while the others look for a solution and he's being influenced little by little to remember what was in the past.

(what Bernard/ Dyonisus is shouting is "Ariadne!!", but I don't know any ancient Greek so this comes from Wikipedia)

I know that people love to headcanon Tim as a child of Athena, I personally like to headcanon him as child of Hades due to his similarities with Nico and the fact that dead seems to follow that kid like a motherfucker but never actually reach HIM.

But hear me out.

Tim as a child of Dionysus. And he gets claimed during the Bruce-quest.

When he was in Gotham monsters were a usual thing. You never knew that they were there for your godly blood, you just thought that they were things created by pollution or something like that. And when he became Robin fighting things that wanted to kill you while saying weird things was more usual than a hug (not that that was a hug standard for Tim).

But then everyone started dying. His parents, Kon, Bart, Steph, BRUCE. Everyone. Every. One.

And Tim…Tim couldn’t seem to reach madness. I mean YEAH he wasn’t doing great by any standard, but he knew madness, he grew up in madness, and he wasn’t going mad.

The cloning was just a treat.

And during the Bruce-quest, everyone thought he was crazy, he was casted away because everyone thought he was crazy CRAZY Tim can’t he crazy! He knows that! He knows that in his blood that going crazy isn’t a chance for him. He made everyone crazy when they were around him (hence Jason. He knew that Jason was mad at him from the start, but going near Tim lighted a flame inside him that Tim is sure isn’t completely Jason’s) but Tim couldn’t go crazy. He could ACT crazy. But never too serious.

And then, in the depths of Greece, he met his dad. His real dad.

He always knew that Jake wasn’t his dad. The blonde hair his mother forced him to dye since he was 5 and the purple eyes his father forced him to hide with contacts told him that. But Tim grew up looking up at Jack, even if Jack didn’t love him, he was the dad that decided to (figuratively) stay. And Tim loved him till death.

But when that man appeared, Tim knew, with only a moment of stares, that that man was his father. They talked a bit, too. The man knew about everything Tim was doing, and that creeped Tim out, but when the man made appear a glass of wine for Tim (and one side for himself) and Tim drank it, he knew what he was.

Something on the flavor, on the feeling. It was Tim. It was home. Something he hadn’t feel in a long time.

He spent the rest of the quest feeling sure that he would make it, because somewhere on the heavens his dad was looking out for him, he promised he was. And this time it wasn’t a figuratively sentimental bullshit. His dad was really helping on the heavens. And Tim was gonna make it.

He saw him again when the quest ended. He appeared in all of his godly glory while Tim was living in the nest. He opened a can of soda and sat on his couch like he wasn’t a man Tim has only met twice, but that was ok, because that was his dad, and he was choosing to visit him. (Also, he wasn’t going to say no to a literal GOD) .

He yapped for two hours about the kids at the camp his dad forced him to work at ( “HE IS SUCH AN A-HOLE SOMETIMES TIM YOU DONT UNDERSTAND-“) and the more he talked about that camp, the more invested Tim got. At the end of it the man, his dad, just looked at him in the eye and said “y’know if you were there we could do this more often. Yer a better listener than that centaur. Also, I think your brothers would like having you there”

He leaves immediately for camp after that. The family thinks Tim decided to leave them for not believing in him, so it’s a shock when he comes back after the summer being great with a sword and with a Tan his skin haven’t known before, not even after fighting crime during the hottest days on San Francisco, and he was happy, like actually happy. A kind of happy he never was with them.

Tim made friends there. He was friends with Annabeth, a girl from the Athena cabin, who honestly thought that Tim was one of them after they had a talk about strategies on the field and all that, and was about to fist fight Dionysus for claiming one of her brothers. She still called him brother, but now she understood that Tim was a Dionysus kid. And her boyfriend Percy. They talked all night about the weight of being a leader and having your people die without you being able to do anything. Percy talked about a boy named Ethan and two girls named Zoe and Bianca. Tim talked about Steph, Kon and Bart.

Tim told him about the Bruce-quest, and Percy told him about the time he was ready to fist fight a good to get his mother back from the underworld.

He also fully loved his brother. Pollux was great and made him feel welcomed to camp. They talked during lunch and Pollux showed him every single thing that made camp especial. He also teached him how to make fun of their dad without turning into a dolphin, so yeah. They got along like a house on fire.

He also made friends with a girl from the Aphrodite cabin. Her name is Drew. She was kind of an asshole and tried flirting with him, and THEY DID GET TOGETHER FOR A BIT, but after some time they decided they were better as friends. And friends they were. Best friend even.

He never told the Batfam any of this.

So after some months in Gotham there’s a cult going around calling themselves “Children of Dionysus” and doing atrocious things.

Duke walked in on Tim trashing the training room of the cave, and later on Jason walked in on Tim having his fourth bottle of wine.

Tim was FURIOUS. Not only that was disrespectful to his dad, but to his brother and himself too. He was going to pick every part of that little cult and trash it.

There he meets Bernard. Then they get on a relationship.

When a sathyr comes to take Bernard to camp Tim goes with him, excited to have his dad meeting his boyfriend.

Dionysus has never been more uncomfortable than when he had to claim his son’s boyfriend in front of him. It wasn’t that hard before! But now they had those things against incest on the human world and he knew this wouldn’t be pleasant to any of his sons.

Ok so I was imagining au’s, as you do and I had this brilliant idea:

It started with the idea of Dick, Jason, and Damian ending up in an alternate universe.

This is an universe where Jason never dies. However, many things still happen because of fate or whatever. Bruce still adopts Cass and Talia drops Damian off.

Because Tim isn’t there, Cass and Steph are the ones who slowly bond and start dating (…eventually… with the help of therapy and jason todd).

Steph still becomes Robin becauseCass started ignoring her when she realized she had feelings for Steph. She sided with Bruce when he told Steph to step down from vigilantism. Then, Steph bothered Jason until he allowed her the Robin costume. Similar to canon, Steph wants to prove herself to Bruce (and Jason). Bruce is an asshole.

And so.

War Games.

Louis Grieve.

In this universe, Tim Drake still knows the Bats’ identities. But in this universe, Tim Drake was not Robin and therefore does not have the training. So, Darla and Tim both get shot at at the school entrance here. Only Darla gets a fatal one though.

The Bats are too late. Dozens of kids die (like in canon). Maybe more. Tim can’t do anything about it as he and Bernard watch Darla slowly bleed out in the school infirmary.

In this universe, Tim Drake was never Robin, so Robin never met Johnny Warren. So Johnny never fused with the artifact that would later bring Darla back to life. Darla is dead forever.

Tim grows resentful of the Bats. Who wouldn’t be? All that technology and training yet they could not keep dozens of students and perhaps hundreds of civilians safe. He grows even more resentful when he finds out the root cause for all of this.

And then Jack Drake is murdered. And Tim shuts down.

He’s grieving one of his closest friends, his father, dozens of classmates, his mother, and his step-mother (who isn’t dead, but is lost to him). He feels resentment towards the Bats and their system. He feels resentment towards himself and his uselessness.

So he packs his bags, makes a fake uncle, and heads to Europe to get trained. Cue Robin training arc without the Robin. Without Bruce to keep him in line, he ends up falling into more morally grey areas.

Tim comes back to Gotham as a Red Hood-esque figure. He wants to control crime, especially organized crime, to ensure War Games would never happen again.

He also wants revenge for his father’s death.

Ok so the idea started with Dick, Jason, and Damian ending up in this universe.

Here, Dick and Bruce’s relationship got better slowly; Jason is an English major and the head of many Wayne programs; Damian at a slightly better place because Tim isn’t there to threaten his place in the family (not that the others don’t make him feel threatened too); The whole family is getting therapy.

It’s so weird. They’re weirded out. And where the hell is Tim?

On their second day, there is a brutal murder. It’s Captain Boomerang’s. He was found in top of a building bleeding out from repeated stabbing. The stabbing was done by a dull boomerang.

The rest of the story is Canon!Dick trying to hide the truth from everyone (he’s the only one Bruce told about Tim’s capacities for darkness (his murder method is different here, but that’s probably because there was no one to really hammer that murder-guilt into him)).

Canon!Dick just wants to figure out what the hell went wrong and where the fuck Tim is. Cass probably knows he knows something and he knows she knows that, but she doesn’t say anything, so Dick’s probably in the clear for now?

Idk what else.

Tim Julias Luthor Leverage Au Memes (Part 2);

(Somehow, Tim still manages to lie his way out of this).

(Tim and his friends' version of a normal life, is not what other people would call normal).

(It is a very strange situation).

(Being possessed, even if just partially, is not fun).

(They don't like The Joker but does anyone?).

(Just another day in the life).

IDK how I would want to introduce Annabeth exactly in my Annabeth Wayne AU. Like I have multiple ideas rotating through my brain at any given time.

They're all predicated on the idea that she didn't come back to Gotham intending to reunite with her family. She actually believes that she can't, as Dionysus made her swear an oath on the Styx her very first week at Camp, promising she wouldn't reveal the demigods to mortal heroes like the Justice League.

Instead, she's there trying to make peace with her past and get her head on straight after Tartarus tore open old wounds. But of course, somehow she ends up unwillingly reintroduced to the Bats and having to work out her abandonment issues/grief/resentment. Scenarios include but are not limited to:

Tim Investigates!!!

Returns to Gotham very shortly after Blood of Olympus, Will sends a brief message to Bernard Dowd, son of Apollo.

Bernard generally sucks at healing compared to his siblings, but any medic is better than none when dealing with things like the aftermath of Tartarus.

Bernard introduces her (truthfully!) to Tim as his 'acquaintance from summer camp' who he's keeping an eye on because she's had a bad time recently and a mutual friend asked him to look out for her. And she still looks bad (lost weight, limp, obviously sleep deprived) so Tim honestly doesn't question that part so much as wonder what exactly happened to her.

Bernard asks him to leave it alone, and Tim tries only because he's trying to prove that he can for his boyfriend who he loves very much.

But something about Annabeth's face is very familiar. (Headcanon she actually has a strong resemblance to the Kane side of the family, more so even than Bruce. Tims brain is putting together the resemblance to the manor portrait and possibly Batwoman, but he doesn't recognize that yet.)

Plus Annabeth gets spooked when she meets him and realizes who Bernard's boyfriend is. (She has more info than Tim does, obviously, even though it mostly comes from celebrity magazines stolen by Cabin 11 and Gotham news articles devoured while on quests). Her reaction intensifies Tim's curiosity, but it's too late to back out of the acquaintance without raising further suspicion.

Anyway, Tim FAILS at not investigating. Obviously. Not quite sure how it unravels from there, just that there's almost nothing on Anna Wayne in any records aside from Gotham's amber alerts because of the Mist.

Murder Scene on the Boat

This one is less thought out. It takes place in an AU where Bernard has already accidentally outed himself to Tim as a demigod.

Tim got very badly injured one day, made it home in a concussed daze, and Bernard freaked out badly enough to risk using the few Apollo-healing powers he does have.

Tim doesn't entirely GET the limited explanation he got from Bernard about that, but he's also hiding it from the rest of the BatFam because he doesn't want Bruce sticking his nose in it and possibly making things worse.

In this context, someone at Camp has called to let Bernard know that Annabeth is possibly headed for Gotham and that she's both mentally & physically in bad shape, but there's not actually much to be done because she hasn't made contact with him.

That is until Bernard goes into the deck of Tim's boat early one morning and finds Annabeth (possibly lead by Apollo's raven) bleeding out on the deck.

He screams for Tim until Tim wakes up and comes running with his staff in hand, but again Bernard is a mediocre healer at best and they have no nectar, so Tim has to call in for medical assistance.

Possibly Dick Grayson is near enough to respond for some reason (idk why, that part isn't important) and upon seeing the little sister he already thought was dead actively bleeding to death while Tim's supposedly human boyfriend is shaking and literally glowing trying to keep her alive, he promptly loses his shit.

They do get her medical care in time, obviously, Dick keeps it together enough to help with that, but as soon as she's out of immediate danger he full on blue screens.

Bio Sibling Meeting

Damian Wayne can see through the Mist not *entirely* but more easily than most mortals due to the Lazarus Pit. (Both growing up around it and having been revived in it.) He has largely kept this to himself.

That is until some sort of extra dangerous monster (that has in fact been tracking Annabeth, not that he knows that) realizes he can see them and takes an interest. He doesn't smell like a demigod, but he also doesn't smell entirely human (Lazarus Pit) so the monster mistakes him as a possiblly lower-effort snack.

Damian attempts to defend, but given that his sword isn't celestial bronze, it goes poorly.

Annabeth, who has been hiding nearby with her invisibility cap, trying to buy enough time for some ambrosia to kick in, is forced back into the fight and defends him. Possibly she gives him some sort of spare weapon (because after Tartarus she doesn't carry just one blade).

They do manage to fight it off, and Damian demands answers. Annabeth clearly recognizes him, not just Robin, but him, and it's freaking him out.

She dons her cap and runs again rather than give those answers and Damian isn't able to stop her for whatever reason.

However, she's been purely in the Mythic world for long enough she isn't thinking about DNA, and Damian is able to pull a blood sample after calling Nightwing (again, because I love to torture him in these scenarios and also he's the only one on good terms with the whole family who knows her) for back up

Nightwing gets nervous when Damian describes the girl (and her eyes in particular). Bruce is off world, so he's the only one present to have a melt down when the DNA profile comes back.

There is a version where somehow Damian has had visions of parts of Annabeth's quests (because Talia knew what Annabeth was and did some DNA manipulation? Because Hestia needed a Hail Mary to fix this family? IDK) so he actually recognizes her at least that much, but doesn't know her name or why he's seen her.

He's been mentally calling her Arsinoe and assumed she was the one to use some magic to forge the connection. He knows about Tartarus, but doesn't have any context to correctly interpret it.

None of that leads him to connect her to his missing older half-sister who Talia spoke about twice and who Bruce never spoke of at all- until he sees Grayson's reaction.

It stirs up some old fear and jealousy, yes- but he also recognizes she saved him and wants to know what the hell is going on. He begins investigating.

Unlucky

Annabeth's inherited shit luck from both parts of her family, so it's not even a monster attack that outs her. She gets caught by accident in a rogue attack and gets hit because she turned back to protect a civilian rather than rely on her own training to try and get clear.

Scarecrow and Fear Toxin could actually be so fun for this specific scenario, but idk, haven't thought out a lot of specifics.

Nightwing is in Gotham currently. (Because I want to torture Dick Grayson specifically.)

(Because the idea of the scared older brother who finds the sibling he lost only when he's actively losing them again is too much fun.)

Because it's either him, Bruce, or Jason, and I figure Jason is estranged and I'm not gonna get the outwardly emotional response I want from Bruce.

So Nightwing is the one to get her and the civilian she was trying to protect extracted from the scene. And in this case he's *not* actually sure why she seems so familiar at first because there's a lot going on and in his mind Anna Wayne most likely died tragically at the age of 7 because Gotham wouldn't be kind to a runaway child that young.

It isn't until he's going through her bag, trying to find something to ID her with or some sort of med alert ID or medication (because she's having a really bad reaction) that he accidentally finds a few identifying artifacts.

Specifically, he Jason's copy of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, which Jason had been reading to Anna when he died, and went missing from the manor when she did.

Which prompts Dick to look through a small bag which is mostly filled with drachma- but also contains an elephant shaped charm from the bracelet he had given her on the last birthday he ever celebrated with her.

Batman *is* in Gotham for this one, purely so he can hear the way Nightwing's voice breaks when he says suddenly "Bruce-"

(and all the others startle because Nightwing never breaks the rule about names in the field)

"Bruce, it's Anna. It's Anna."

(If it was Scarecrow toxin that got her, Batman thinks Nightwing must be hallucinating, too. Right up until Oracle pulls the feeds to see what's going on with Nightwing and the girl and starts swearing.)

And, this is a 'Yes, and' site. Rather than go, 'Yes, but imagine', I've decided to make a separate post *giggles*

Bernard Dowd as Irene Adler.

For those who don't know, In the original books by Sir Conan, Irene Adler is a character that could match Sherlock's wit. I'm just going off on memory here, but some King was scared of being blackmailed because he was about to get married and he had a previous relationship with Irene. Irene also had pics of him and her together, and he was scared that this is the blackmail that could be used against him and stop the marriage. So, he calls Sherlock, Sherlock makes up plans and creates traps. And every single time, Irene manages to evade him, and cunningly trap him back. Sherlock never wins.

In the end, Sherlock realizes that the reason why Irene kept the photo was to avoid the King's wrath. She also goes tells him that she's about to be married, and the king really don't need to give a shit of where she's at.

As payment for all the hard work Sherlock had done, he asks the King for a picture of Irene, and the rest is history!! (BBC's Irene Adler is a Badass Dominatrix *swoons*)

SO----

Say Tim (Sherlock in this AU) and Kon (Watson in this au) are both adults in this non-superpowers AU. Kon, finding out that Tim had a horrible history with women as lovers, jokes that maybe Tim should try his hand with guys (you're not subtle Kon).

It's at this moment that Zoanne shows up, Tim's old high school sweetheart. Apparently, she's now married with a kid. However, a few months back, she and her husband were fighting with each other, badly. She ended up flirting with a co-worker of hers: Bernard Dowd.

Tim remembers Bernard. He hasn't seen him since their friend, and his late girlfriend, Darla died.

Apparently, Zoanne and Bernard's 'relationship' turned into something more, but her relationship with her husband had also been on the mend. She confessed to Bernard that she was married, and that she chooses to go back to her husband. That was the last she's seen of him.

Inwardly she was worried that their relationship might get outed to her husband, but she was also worried about where Bernard might be and how the man was because he also hadn't been showing up to work for a whole week.

Tim and Kon get on the case, they figure out what Bernard had been up to. They discover that Bernard got caught up with some pain cult, the Cult of Dionysus, and that's he's been an established member for years. Tim tries his utmost best to convince Bernard to leave.

To Bernard, the way Tim planned to catch him, laid traps for him, and even tried dismantling the cult, was just both funny and adorable. He made plans and traps of his own to thwart Tim.

It all ends the moment Bernard reveals that he's been dismantling the cult on his own from the inside.

Tim asks if he was doing this to take his mind off the heartbreak, and Bernard reveals that, 'no!' He's never had much more than a fling in his romantic pursuits, and Zoanne wasn't any different. The confession just so happened to coincide his plans of taking down the cult, but it also gave him a good reason to disappear and hide under the 'impression' of a heartbreak.

The past week had been the most fun Bernard had in years. He tells Tim to tell Zoanne that she doesn't need to worry about him saying anything, and that he wishes her and her family well.

Tim is amazed by Bernard's cunning, and wondered why he's never seen this when they were both in high school. The two had been close at the hip in school, and the only constant about Bernard that Tim always noticed was that Bernard had always been a flirt with the girls, and had even attempted to flirt with Tim's stepmom.

Bernard gets into Tim's space, like he usually does, and wraps an arm around Tim's shoulders, winking towards Kon, who was just aggressively confused on why he was getting a little bit angry.

Then, he gives Tim the number to his burner phone. Bernard says that he might not contact Tim, but he'd never miss a call should Tim end up using it. Tim keeps the number under a photo of them both in high school that was framed in his room.

Bernard quits his job, because although the cult in the city he lived in is dismantled, it doesn't mean they didn't exist in other places. It's not safe for him to stay in one place.

He bids Tim goodbye, and for the rest of the AU, his mind would sometimes come back to Bernard.

Weeks or months later, Jason (who I headcanon as Mycroft...) and Kon tells Tim that Bernard Dowd had been killed off in some foreign country after successfully taking down the whole cult. Tim emotionlessly sips his energy drink, while reminiscing in a flashback of going on a 'business trip', saving Bernard's life, but also killing off Bernard's 'identity'.

Somewhere out there, Alvin Draper is relieved of his international crimes and works professionally for the FBI.

this is a shitpost but i have this whole au that this song fits perfectly. i'll ramble about it under a readmore but the TL:DR is that Tim gets got, and Bernard gives him his physical beating heart in exchange for becoming Dionysus' vessel. In Which Tim is Bernard's Heart.

okay so like. after almost getting sacrificed, Bern's had this voice in the back of his head. at the end of TD:R, Bern is too late. and that voice in bernard's head is loud. everyone bernard called to help is understandably busy being mad and fighting that they don't fight the civilian going up to his dead boyfriend on an altar and they don't notice him taking the dagger, and they're way too late to stop him from plunging it into his own chest.

he doesn't die of course, and he's yanking his heart out of his chest and shoving it into Tim's and somehow he not only doesn't die, but Tim has a Captain Jack Harkness moment and breathes back to life.

so bernard has this gaping hole in his chest that start's glowing and that's what I lovingly refer to as Dionysus's Apartment Management Office. that's where he lives. like. he's not taking over Bernard, he lives here and Bernard has to pay rent. to live. He needs godly offerings so that his body doesn't shut down.

so Bernard has to become a cult leader. he's really sexy about it. and uh. tim has to run away from his gay thoughts about it.

The Summer Hikaru Died trailer gave me TimBer vibes because of all the cool Dinoysus!Bernard fics and art online.

It's a similar premise, and it has me thinking about an au where Tim watched Bernard die, and yet Bear is seemingly alive the next day.

It's because Dionysus possessed his body, and now Bear is sharing his body with Dionysus essentially. And Dionysus is aware of Bear's gay crush on Tim and is curious about it

Do you have any COO! Bernard headcanons? I’d love to hear them!

Let me use this ask to write down how I think Coo!Bernard would work.

Some people headcanon that Bernard’s family has been part of the court from the beginning, but to me it doesn’t make much sense. So in my version of this AU Bernard joined later.

When? Well do you remember how after the shooting at Grieves Bernard says to Darla that his parents used the money from the settlement to send him to boarding school, then later on Urban Legends we learn that he ends up befriending the wrong type of people and that’s how he ends on the Cultu of Dionysus, what if instead he befriends a different kind of wrong people.

So he is sent to boarding school, surrounded by the rich and posh. Chami why would any member of the Court would even look twice at Bernard? Well do you really think he wouldn’t namedrop Tim Drake once in a while to try to fit in (even though it still hurts that Tim just ghosted him after Darla, how dare him? What did he do wrong? He didn’t deserve this, did he?) and the court is very interested on Tim after all they know that’s Robin, so they decide to bring him in, to use their children to pull him into the Court.

How? They reveal Tim is Robin, and it all spirals from there, they manipulate the truth, using Bernard’s own guilt and trauma from Grieves to convince him that Tim could have saved Darla, that he should have saved her, but that his secret was more important than her life, and isn’t that cruel? Isn’t that wrong? Robin is supposed to be a hero, but where was Robin when his friend was bleeding out on the floor? Where was he when Bernard saw her breath stop? Where was he when Bernard needed him most?

Bernard falls for it, he is hurting, he is not thinking straight, and it is easier to deal with trauma when you have a goal, someone to blame for all your problems, so he doesn’t think twice about joining. He signs his soul away and hopes one day he will be able to give to Tim a fraction of the pain he is feeling.

He gets his opportunity to do so, but sadly falling in love himself wasn’t part of the plan.

okay so tree baby right? Aspen (Like the Tree) Dowd. i have brain worms. but I also have to explain my Bernysus AU for it to make sense.

Basically, y'all know when tim is about to get got and bernard comes in with the whole fam to save him? well, au where bruce took like a whole minute longer to sneak up on bernard because he kept pacing so Batman couldn't do that thing where he just appears all spooky like, and tim is sacrificed.

so while the family is dealing with the cult members, bernard is with tim. but he's not alone.

Dionysus has had an eye on Bernard since he was almost sacrificed himself. he's like "hey, wanna save your boy?" and bernard ius like "yeah" so bernard carves out his own heart, gives it to tim, and now Dionysus lives in bernard's empty chest hole keeping him alive so long as he takes care of his "heart", Tim.

so bernard becomes a little morally dubious because his heart is out on dangerous missions every night and lives off of dog food slop breakfast. he's gotta fight short military manlets, assassin grandpas, and sometimes jason in order to keep him safe and sound.

and then to the tree baby worms.

so tim and bernard experience twink death and have their tree baby.

i love my little shitpost dearly. anyway, this is also a time travel set of brain worms. tim gets got, and bernard is got as a result. Dionysus crawls out of his chest cavity, traumatizing Aspen. he offers her powers to take vengeance on those who destroyed his apartment. and her parents ig.

and so she becomes a little fucked up, a little evil. tension with her grandpa, but at least two of her uncles are like "fuck yeah"

and another very helpful thing is her auntie cassie, who knows plenty about demigod shenanigans. Aspen isn;t really a demigod, but dionysus did live in her dad and she has received his blessing to call upon his powers so. close enough.

cassie, bart and kon are her three powerful uncles. strong uncle, fast uncle and girl uncle.

anyway, they try to mkeep her from going full villain becvause it's in her blood, if anything goes wrong she'll be gun batman somehow.

but really. she just wants her dads back. so she's going to break some time laws and stop her dads from getting got.

i mean. bart's on board. but the people who own the time shenanigans maguffin aren't. thanks to much meddling, they overshoot their destination by quite a bit. back when Bernard was just moving into Tim's murder shack to keep him well fed and safe. before kids was even an idea.

Admittedly, I have no idea how the Timbern would connect to Boomerang and Canon!DickJasonDamian and the au Batfamily, but everything was built off this idea

Ok so. After Grieves, Tim said he was going to Europe to be with his uncle and then disappeared off the face of the earth. No contact. No social media. Just silence.

About 6 months after the shooting, Bernard gives up.

He fully joins the cult. His involvement here is a lot worse here than in canon because he has no reason to go on. At least, in the regular universe, he knew Tim was still alive and well and Darla was somehow also alive and not-as-well.

Here, he’s gay, his parents are homophobic, he fell into worse coping mechanisms. Alcohol, drugs, self harm, sex, etc. Perfect Dionysus cult bait. Bernard joins them (what does he have to lose?) and doesn’t want to leave. He has no means to reach Tim, so there is no first date to inspire him to leave the cult.

He gets sacrificed. He’s the best candidate for it. There is no one else who is as separated from the mortal realm,

Tim is too late here.

He’s not associated with the Bats. Both parties hate each other. Tim does not have their resources.

He finds out about the cult too late. He finds out about Bernard’s involvement too late. He doesn’t even know about the sacrifice until he breaks into the altar room and sees Bernard with a stake through his heart.

This Tim, despite not having any relations with the Bats, has Dick Grayson’s anger and early canon!Red Hood’s penchant for revenge murder.

Tim kills at least three cultists before Bernard wakes up again, his mangled heart in one hand and Tim’s shoulder in the other. His eyes have a purplish hue to them and his grin is malicious.

“Get away from my children.”

Cue a wild and conflicted fight sequence between the two where Tim is screaming at Dionysus to get out of Bernard’s body. At some point, Tim’s mask (reminiscent of the mask in @batfambrainrotbeloved’s Cardinal) gets knocked off.

Inner Bernard recognizes Tim -> Dionysus gets the memories of the boy who left his friend

Cue an inner monologue battle between the god and the vessel argue over whether or not Tim should live + who should control the body.

Bernard comes out on top (by referencing one of Dio’s lovers… his first love Ampelos perhaps?) and they agree to be body roommates. He takes control over his body.

Tim and Bernard have their own fight, only with their tongues this time. That sounds weird. They ARGUED. No makeouts yet :(

Basically Bernard grills Tim for ghosting him after going through all that trauma and Tim defends himself saying he had a dangerous mission (ahem is anyone seeing parallels). Eventually, Bernard convinces Tim to include him in his plans because he’s angry about Grieves too.

Bernard and Tim are happy to reunite with one another. Dionysus is happy with the promise of good wine that’ll come from crime lording (and the promise of eventual sex once the idiots figure themselves out).

They control Gotham’s underworld as [unnamed. give me ideas] and Dionysus.

A little comic for my Clown Prince au

A little explanation about the au for anyone curious below ;)

So, its a reverse Robins au, Tim gets kidnapped by Joker pretty soon after starting his vigilante career and spends the rest of his teen years getting brain washed by Joker into being Joker jr. This was like BIG news in Gotham (because Bruce looked for him like craaazy), but after the year's went by and no one found him, he turned into this tragic story, Gotham's most beloved missing child.

Joker planned on making Joker Jr's debut when he turned 18, they were suposed to catch Batman by surprise and kill him 💀, but Tim had a bolt of sanity and killed him first!

Okay, after that Tim runs away, and somewhere along the way meets Bernard ( who in this au is sharing his body with Dionysus ), Bernard is immediatly infatuated with Tim and decides to help him by letting him crash at his place while he figures out how to live a free life again.

A lot of healing ensues, as they become close friends..... And loverrrrss oooooooh <3
