I'm honestly disappointed in people for how normalised it has become to hate on things online. Guys it's not that deep. It's Jay's project. He can do what he wants. He's done a lot of cool and fun things with epic and outside of epic. Newsflash! You wont like everything he does! What a revelation! Not all of his interests and opinions will align with yours! Such a breakthrough, i know. Stop crying over it.

You didnt like one song out of the 35 that have come out, and you need to post an entire essay about it? Grow tf up, Jay doesn't deserve that. Not like the people who are hating have dedicated years to a project this big. (Even if you have, it doesnt give you a pass to hate on others' work like this)

And even then. Ok, you want to get your opinion out. Did you know you can do that without insulting either Jay or the artist who made the 3D animation? If you dont like the animation or the windbag used as a jetpack, then that is your personal opinion, and you are not "intellectually superior" for having that opinion. Sorry to break it to you. You can say whatever you want as long as you do so respectfully. I'm tired of people who hate on fun things like the jetpack because of their unconscious need to be above others. Take a fucking breath guys.

Something I've been thinking a lot about lately is how everyone thought Egon had gone insane. What Happened that made them think that. They've fought a gigantic Stay Puft Marshmellow Man TWICE (counting the 2009 video game because iirc it's canon? Correct me if I'm wrong), fought an interdimensional god, fought a blood thirsty ruler that killed thousands and was hated by all that was trapped in a painting (and managed to get in to beat him by making THE STATUE OF LIBERTY start walking down the street with slime that reacted purely based on vibes), found an underground abandoned transit system full of the moodslime, had a bathtub try to eat Dana and her baby, fought a giant murderous black widow lady, fought the fisherman ghost who turned an entire hotel floor into the bottom of a ocean, and that's not even mentioning them getting trapped on an island that randomly raised up from underwater that had been abandoned for decades created by Ivor Shandor who worshipped Gozer. So what did he do or say that made everyone else think he'd gone insane?? All I can think is maybe he was acting strange / eratic before, but he's always been like that to some degree.

I don't know. It's something that I've been thinking about. The correct answer is 'it's not that deep and they needed a reason that the others weren't together anymore and weren't aware of Egons death or know what was going on,' but also. What Was He Saying that prompted everyone, including Ray, to think he lost his mind when he'd been right almost every time before that.

I'm genuinely so curious as to what he was up to before this. What was he doing. What insane idea was working on prior to this or was he even working on anything at all??

Also want to clarify this post isn't negative 😭 I really love the newer movies and their lore / the newer storyline / characters, I just like thinking about small stupid things like this. Gives me something to think about / speculate about / figure out an answer to.

<3333 yesss i also think neuroscience is cool. I'm glad I went into undergrad because I think I came away from it with like a good mental mechanical model of how most brain stuff (that I care about) works. Which is fun because like... neurons teehee. And also just means like I love arguing with psychologists now i guess lol.

tbh I'm having a bit of trouble translating it into a career rn though, partially because i gained a lot of interest in other research fields through my minor and partially because navigating internships and references around some of my social dysphoria issues was like harder for me than I was noticing at the time in retrospect. Now that I'm graduated I'm trying to tie up some loose ends like getting my deadname off my financial statements and stuff (going to the bank today lol.)

btw its interesting the way james tries to imply that like. well the videos that have plagiarism are the ones our dumb stupid annoying patrons requested about bad topics that didnt deserve to have the effort put in to covering them well so basically its fine. like obv thats interesting on its own but moreso the fact that he doesnt actually /say/ it, or like. give a list of the videos hes referring to, just says "those videos are very clear on which ones they were" i think as a nod meaning like "yknow the ones everyones talking about". unless what hes meaning is that like they put a note in certain videos saying "this video was requested by a patron, we here at james somertom incorporated do not espouse these views" which seems unlikely to me. idk methinks maybe it's because there is indeed a lot more than people think and with all the buzz he's not sure which ones have been discovered yet or not, so putting down a solid list that missed some would look like he was still hiding things whereas putting down a fully sourced list would be admitting to wayyyy more than anyone's found yet
