Trying new shapes while being emotional about cave art, a cave lion now. Carved river pebble, I think I'll turn it into a bead.

finally got some photos of wave two of the minis, which i printed out maybe... 5 days ago? I never posted them here (or anywhere else really) so i figured id wait for tha pretty photos

sadly the Shockwave(s) print ended up with that slight crest deformity(pictured above), so i plan to just totally nuke the price, even if the deformity is small. ANY time i find something small like this, i decide to just nuke the price because ultimately i want my prints to be as close to perfect as i can manage

some extra photos from when i was processing them, the color reminds me of berries so ive been calling them the berry wave 😭😭

Mecha Showcase: Double Feature!

Finished up a pair of Battletech mechs, this time it's the Awesome (left) and the Battlemaster (right).

I've started trying work under-armour colours into the colour schemes I've been using, hoping that it'll make the model look more visually interesting than just one big block of colour, and I kinda vibe with it :)

Realised I hadn’t posted any shots of the completed Diorama.

“Scavengers” A Kroot warband scavenging the wreck of a damaged and abandoned Rogal Dorn battle tank.

This was a really fun project that had been sat in my head for nearly 2 years. It was a challenge learning all the military modelling techniques that I needed to get the tank looking like it had been burnt out by shell fire, then abandoned by the crew during a beach landing. Lots of inspiration from the Sherman’s abandoned on Saipan beach.

This was also my first proper resin pour so i decided to use a deep poor 72hr cure resin so I didn’t have to colour match the layers! The waves were then carved into the top using a grinding bit in my dremmel. Then some snow terrain paste to represent the breaking waves and a coat of gloss varnish.

I’m really happy with how this turned out and it’s taught me a lot I can use on future dioramas

Beaniatures I made last year! The term is a combination of "Beanie" (my cat's name) and "miniature". This was my first venture into figurines. They are plastic casts, each uniquely hand painted. All of them have been adopted to loving homes now! I'm hoping to make more later this year.

(Miniature) couch restoration

I found this couch ( with a bunch of other things I didn't care about) for 2$ at a second hand store

Finding dollhouse miniatures is kind of rare around here so I grabbed it, I thought at worst it would be a cheap MDF off of AliExpress or something and I could repaint it, but once I scraped a bit of the paint off I was pleasantly surprised to find a nice wood finish!

There was at least 3 to 4 layers of paint through (⁠‘⁠◉⁠⌓⁠◉⁠’⁠) (white, gray, maybe white again and finally pink)

Out of curiosity I pried up the fabric which was obviously not the original, to find another unoriginal fabric and pried that up too and that was still not the original 🤣 matroshka doll of upholstery

After huffing 99% alcohol and paint brush cleaner for probably 5 or so hours I ended up with this

I left the back and seat of the couch rough as it would be covered in fabric anyway, it looks like that maybe at some point this got sanded in a few spots? I fixed it up by finally using my furniture repair markers as intended (mostly I don't think they had mini furniture in mind)

You can see on the left half where I tried different colours to see what would match best

Now new upholstery! I only had the original couch cushion seat so I decided to just redo the whole thing in silk of corse (⁠｡⁠•̀⁠ᴗ⁠-⁠)⁠✧

I wanted it to look a little worn so I picked this really textured blueish green/cream dupini silk

From barbie would be embarrassed to have this in her house to Victorian centerpiece! Or well I would like to think so ;;;
